Three ladies is the perfect setting to catch up with a friend. They have a pretty good variety of food and their lavender lattes are the best! Usually it's not super loud / busy so it's a nice place to chill. A little pricey but everything in Davis is a little pricey so it's not a big deal. The smoothies at this cafe are delicious, and I appreciate their healthy, organic offerings, but they are SLOW. I had to leave without my smoothie today - and without my refund because I didn't have time for that either - because it took soooo long and I had a meeting. Lousy service/food--Grill cheese from hell, full of old rancid grease, and burnt bread from another era...Humus sandwich, without any humus. They were open another 20 minutes, but wouldn't let us wait inside their seating area for our take out food to be completed. They were rude/short with us. Very strange. The food was fine. The service was quite odd. They gave me a thick blended beverage with no straw or spoon. They gave my mom a salad with a spoon, no fork. The food wasn't bad but lacked basic seasoning. Loved the decor and they had some fun sounding drinks but I probably won't lunch there again. read more

Three strikes and well... Very small portions. Very high prices. Very very slooooow service. On one visit, 3 of us waited 40 minutes for our lunch -- two sandwiches and one avocado toast. We had to have them boxed to go- we were on a lunch hour. Recently got a $10 bowl for lunch that was teeny tiny (tiny scoop of rice, some spinach leaves, an egg, some purple cabbage, and about a quarter of a cup of "slaw"). I took it to go based on my last experience. One employee in the kitchen working as slow as possible. Long wait again, even just to get the bowl to go. And, I was hungry by 2. I said something to another customer who told me he waited 25 minutes for a breakfast burrito. I wanted a healthy option such as TLC to be so much better. Prices on their paper menu are different that those posted so beware (example: menu says bowls are $8.95 but they are really $9.95.) read more

I took my elderly parents here for an Covid safe outdoor lunch. Ordering was easy and Covid safe, they brought the sandwiches out to us but unfortunately we were disappointed and hungry when we left. The sandwiches are small and underwhelming. At the price I assumed it would come with a little salad or pickle or something but grilled cheese was two slices of white bread with some melted cheddar and some herbs sprinkled on top. My Dad's capresse was the same only with a slice of tomato added, bland mozzarella and I guess basil Mayo. It was small and thin and he immediately said he was going to need more food . Recommend you order more items but kind of strange it doesn't come with more for 10 bucks. Service was friendly read more

This is such a cozy cafe offering wonderful vegan food. I am not a vegan and was surprised how tasty and satisfying vegan food can be. Oh and I had the Lavendar Latte. How great is that? I highly recommend this cafe!! read more

Ridiculously over priced. I paid $3.50 (!!!) for a very small cup of tea and they only offered refills on the hot water. I also noticed that the food is also very expensive for the very small portion that they give you. I want to support local business, but will likely not be coming back here again. read more

This cafe lies tucked away in a quiet little corner of Davis. While I'm sure it's a blessing and a curse for the owners (quiet little corner = less foot traffic?), it's nice not feeling claustrophobic inside of a Davis cafe (sorry, Mishkas. I love you but you're stressful to be in). The staff is always really friendly and they have a fair priced coffee and food menu. They could do with a bit more ventilation (last time I was there I felt like I was inhaling remnants of slightly burnt food smoke), but overall I enjoy it here and recommend a visit. read more

The cold brew coffee is room temperature iced coffee. They even put ice in it. I've never had cold brew that wasn't actually cold...

I got the tofu sandwich and Kombucha on tap. The tofu sandwich was good. The Kombucha wasn't that great and was really overpriced. I can't remember how much exactly, but I think around $6 something for a small (12 oz). The tofu sandwich was delicious and came with a side salad, pretty plain just mixed greens with dressing. The 2 stars is mainly because of the service. When I walked in, the employee behind the cash register completely disregarded me, then rushed me to order and made me feel very unwanted in the cafe. He was unenthusiastic, cold, and came off as serving his patrons was the last thing he wanted to do. I am unsure if this speaks to other servers' attitudes but from the other reviews I see that a few customers also had similar experiences. With that said. just be weary of being either hassled when you're served, completely disregarded as if you don't belong there, or some combination of the two. Unfortunately, no matter how much I enjoyed my food, I will not be returning to this cafe. Came back after someone from TLC reached out to me and had a much better experience. The food was delicious! I was greeted by two attentive, enthusiastic servers who answered my questions and even offered free samples of Kombucha! Definitely will be back again and I appreciate the managers for listening to my experience and making the changes necessary to ensure it didn't happen again. :) read more

Julie and the wonderful folks at Three ladies Cafe are a great addition to Davis. I've been to TLC far too many times since they opened because they do such a fantastic job; they embody the friendly and welcoming spirit of the town and always have a smile for my friends and I. I love having a well-lit and cheerful environment to study in. And it's fun to read through their carefully selected and artfully crafted food and drinks (especially Red Sky in the Morning). I've been here twice now and both times have been the best experience I could ask for. Employees are very welcoming, kind, and professional. I've gone once for breakfast and once for lunch. This place is nice addition to Downtown Davis. They have an assortment of pastries, lunch items, and coffee and tea. Some of the drinks here are pretty expensive, but if you just get regular coffee or tea it is fine. I enjoyed the tea and the cute gingerbread cookie I got here, and it is a good place to work because they have wifi. However, the atmosphere is not exactly cozy. This used to be an ice cream store and it still has sort of the plain feel of a dessert place. It does have decorations, but it just feels very sanitized and white, and the seating is not very comfortable. read more

Like wow there was no sense of urgency whatsoever, my friend met me here and decided to get the same thing and it took her 40 minutes to get her bowl... These three ladies do everything right! I was in town at a hotel (don't live anywhere near it darn it!) and found ourselves driving by looking for somewhere to eat breakfast and we had to try it, it just looked right. Cute lil cafe with good vegan options! I really like studying and meeting up with friends here! The place is spacious and bright and the staff are really friendly and helpful :) there also one of the few places in Davis with decent vegan options! I love this place! I always get the tofu sandwich and when I first tried it, I was pleasantly surprised and happy about how much flavor it had (plus the bread was super crisp and perfect). I have also tried the La Vie En Rose smoothie bowl and the Stay Golden smoothie and they were both very flavorful and I would for sure order them again. I come there often for the tofu sandwich! Came here on a nice day for lunch and it was really disappointing. The concept was sound, but we struggled ordering because the menu felt like 10 things repeated in different combinations across the page. It was ridiculously expensive for college students, and the portion sizes were tiny. Everything felt under-executed, except for the biscuit and jam. Those were yummy, I might return just for these to-go. The smoothie was really fresh, but lacked flavor. The space was not very homey - it felt very hipster IKEA. I really wanted to like this place, but it just was really off. You're better off going to Nugget, or Whole Foods if they were still open! read more

I wanted to like this place. I like the idea that it is locally owned, and had many delicious, organic ingredients to make a lovely vegan/vegetarian restaurant-- something Davis needs. The menu is pricey, and for that the dishes need to be stellar, as someone else pointed out. I don't mind shelling out $10 for a healthy salad. However, I've been here at least 10 times, and nearly all of those times I've left either annoyed and/or disappointed. I've had the Golden Milk. It was frustrating because I overheard the employee who sold it to me ask another employee how to make it AFTER selling it. The other employee didn't know either, so they just guessed. It was flavorless, warmed milk with a dash of turmeric--$5. I've had all the salads as well. They are good, but a little underwhelming for the price. The reason this is getting 2 stars and not 1, is I do feel like this idea is good, but the execution is utterly terrible. I'm not sure who the actual owner is, but the majority of the time I go there it is younger people working who don't seem to take a job seriously or pay attention to what they are doing. They lack efficiency, which I truly don't understand, as many of the dishes should have pre-made ingredients that should just be assembled together. The only occasion I have gone there, and it hasn't taken me longer than 20 minutes to put in my salad order and have it made was when there were two adult women there, who I assume are involved with management. Every other time the salads have been inconsistently made, ingredients missing, entirely wrong salad made (the employee did correct this, which added another 12 minutes to wait for assembly). On two separate occasions, I went with other people who also ordered salads. One might think that these orders would come out at the same time? After all, the ingredients are pre-made? Nope. more than 10 minutes for my salad, more than 12 for my friends. Especially when there are 3 employees there, why does this take so long? Yesterday, my root bowl, which consists of 5 ingredients: mixed greens, root veggies, tomatoes, mint, and coriander (and 2 of the 5 are relatively minor, so 3 ingredients make up the bulk of this salad)-- after waiting for 25 minutes, the employee making my bowl was told only then that it was to go, so he scooped out everything and plopped it in a to go bowl. Then put microwaved root veggies (every other time this has come out as chilled veggies to not wilt the salad bowl) on top, and forgot to add any tomatoes. I took it and my store bought apple juice (I asked the employee what apples they use and she said it is store bought)-- which they sell for $4.50 for some reason? as I would have late waiting any more. I arrived at 2:45 and left at 3:18--without being able to eat. I wouldn't recommend going there for a "quick" lunch. Anyway, this place seems well intended, but the employees don't seemed to be trained at all, or monitored in a way where service matches the price being charged. I'm sure the rent in downtown Davis is super high, and that some of their price needs to account for this. But with terrible service that creates mediocre execution of basic, clean ingredients, I don't think I will be returning here for a while. In sum, the food does taste good, but I don't think it is worth the price, it is hardly worth the taste, and definitely not worth the wait/service. read more
