Service was left to be desired. The lady staff was busy heating up someone's order, rather stood by the toaster oven and watch it heat up instead of multi tasking to take my order. Then came another customer who just picked up coffee. She took his order ahead of me. Instead of taking my order, she chatted a bit with the customer. After he left, she then was on the phone! Thankfully another staff coming from a break took my order. I ordered the brain killer (cold drink) which was good although wasn't served with maraschino cherry per the menu; and hot Brown sugar vanilla latte (which had to be redone to add the brown sugar syrup!) which was good. Ambiance is okay, hard to do work with music blasting but hey, to each his own!

Cozy coffeehouse that's not just tourist. In a really unique neighborhood, they roast their own coffee and they had some interesting concoctions, both cold and hot.

The shop is located in a beautiful location and close to oceanfront... the shop has a cozy vibe, has indoor and outdoor seating... they have very unique flavor combinations and has milk alternatives too... I got the drip coffee with milk foam... the barista recommended it and it's the bestseller but I personally didn't enjoy it... I felt a weird after taste.. pastries and food felt very pricey..!!

One of the many gems in the Vibe District! My friend and I stopped in for their amazing hot chocolate!

Great place to stop in for coffee and pastries! The place is buzzing because it's got great coffee, hot chocolate, and gluten-free pastries! Service is quick and friendly and it has a great atmosphere!! Highly recommend!!!

We walked here for coffee on our first morning staying in the area. It is a cool shop. They have coffee, swag, pastries, etc... The coffee of that day was from Guatemala and was just not for me. A little to earthy Definitley try it out... the coffee may be right up your alley

Always top notch when hitting this local spot. Though they've opened up a couple other spots, this one remains my favorite. Their seasonal drinks are always on point, and their usual menu items never miss. The staff takes extra care to make sure you are getting exactly what you want, and they do it very well. Every drink is made to order, so nothing is sitting around waiting. They also always have great selection of merch including tees, hats and stickers. If you take your coffee black, and seriously, this is a great spot!

Three ships is easily the best coffee in Virginia Beach! Everything they have is impeccable, from their seasonal drinks to the classic, this time I got a vanilla latte and a ham biscuit. Both were great, and the staff was lovely. The atmosphere is always very cool, and so much better designed than most coffee shops in a beach town. It leans into the nautical field, but in a cool fresh way. I highly recommend going!

Coffee was tasty! Brought my coffee snob husband who got their drip and said "if you get the basics right, you're set... they got the basics right" (that's a pretty good review in his book haha). We also got a ham and cheese croissant which was quickly devoured and very good. Busy but not too crowded, great vibe, knowledgeable workers, and overall and great experience!

For too long, coastal Virginia lacked the amazing coffee stands and shops we used to find everywhere in the Pacific Northwest. In recent years, a crop of great options has finally popped up. Three Ships is one of the best! Every time I've gone in the baristas have been friendly and helpful. Their in house roasted brews are top notch, and start with their excellently sourced beans. I've tried various blends/brews, both hot and cold, and have enjoyed them all. They also offer a nice variety of baked items, including gluten-free options. This muffin may not look like much, but it was an incredible chocolate chip filled gluten free goody that tasted like "the real thing", num num num! There is a sitting area inside the air conditioned shop as well as a nice porch area to sit outside in the heart of the VB Vibe/arts district.

Visited on a Saturday morning so they were SUPER busy and the line was very long. I was really hoping it was worth it. Got some pastries and a specialty coffee. Everything was excellent. The servers were great even with the busy crowd. And the place exuded great fun. Would revisit when I go back.

A great place for coffee, pastries, and an occasional bite to eat. Off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. Been on vacation since last week & it's our fifth time coming. The mocha and iced Pungo latte have been our favorites!

If you're a coffee snob, it's worth trying. Great roasts. But be ready for a staff and customer base with a superiority complex.

Once arrived you'll be greeted by the valet homies! Get yourself a drink from my guy at the side bar bc it will be at least an hour wait. I'm down for that tho because the ambiance and outdoorzy garden area is always chill for sun vibes and photos. Once you're seated that wait time will be well worth it bc everything on the menu is A1 but those Pungonian Shrimp & Grits!..... My God! An banger every time no questions. You will require this, as well as the outdoor bar and large outdoor seating area, because it is likely that you will be waiting before you have the opportunity to be seated and take advantage of the food offerings. With the parking out-of-the-way, and your expectation that you will be waiting about the length of a feature film behind you during busy periods, let's get to the food. There is a straightforward charm, and there are biscuits, but the value add really isn't there for the amount of time investment and at the price point. Service is workmanlike and pleasant, seating is tight as you might imagine. To be fair, there is some creativity in the dish naming and drink presentation. Taken on its own merits, I would rate it as a three out of five. This is the sort of place that generates a lot of attention and buzz because of its location in an affluent area and because of word of mouth. But the fare is not of such a spectacular quality that the peak hour waits justify.

Looking around the establishment, it's probably more of a neighborhood spot. One thing that did catch my eye was the wall behind the bartender, it was packed with alcohol and different beers, made it easy to what the places served and draws your eyes in. Anyway, after about 25 minutes, our food was brought to us. The food, I can't speak honestly say my pancakes were good, my omelette was okay but the hash browns were too thin and overcooked to a crisp.
