We had lunch there yesterday and split the Lamb Kadai. It was great and we had leftovers so it was a really large portion. The lamb was VERY tender and you could cut it with a plastic fork. This place is below average for Indian food, the reason why this place has good reviews is most of the customers are non indians, hence dont know the difference between good indian food and bad indian food. The reason why this restaurant is actually in business is because there is no competition in the area, and they are serving out Reused bad food, the owner knows exactly what im talking about. There biryani is terrible, just rice and curry, the food is an embarrassment to india. On top of that the prices are high for stale food. Tried this place on a cold winter night with hubby. Haven't had Indian in a while since it's not too prevalent in the Algonquin area. Hubby is not a fan of Indian food so it was a bit of a hard bargain lol. I tried the typical that I normally eat at Indian places - Chicken tikka massala. The sauce was pretty good and the portion was reasonable. The chicken was not bad however probably not the freshest it could have been. Unfortunately the entrees don't come with rice so that was extra. I think some sort of side should come with entrees particularly given that the entree price is about $15-17 or so. Husband got the butter chicken - overall his dish was reasonable as well, same issue with not coming with any side. It took a while to get our ordered food (35 + minutes or so if I remember correctly) which seemed a little long for Indian. Parking in front of the restaurant. read more

I'm updating my review after over a year. It was five stars before, I only wish I could give more now. I had a favorite Indian restaurant, then I tried here and it won me over. I've gotten food here fairly regularly and recently the food has changed. It was the best Indian food I've had before, now the food here has blown the original stuff away. It's so incredible I had to update my review. I honestly didn't think it could get any better but it's really that good. If anyone is looking for a great dish the chicken kadai is phenomenal. We are newer in town and still looking for our favorite local Indian restaurant. Entrees do not come with rice. I am shocked at how expensive the breads are for the quantity that you get. The saag was tasty but a bit more watery than my preference. I don't think this is the one. read more

Just had some tandoori chicken, paneer makhani, garlic naan, and samosas delivered during this stay-at-home order and it blew us away. This was the first time I ordered Indian food. I had Indian food a couple of years ago at a yearly gathering and loved it. I had a taste for something different because of the Stay at home Order. I found them on Google Map, so I called and ordered. The person who answered the phone was helpful. Because I never ordered Indian food before. I like spicy so they suggested the Lamb Vindaloo with rice and a pita. It was phenomenal because it was not just hot but it had a slightly sweet taste along with the flavor. I drive an extra 15 minutes out of my way to get Indian from Thumka in Algonquin. All of the food is amazing with my wife, a long time vegetarian, proclaiming the vegetarian dishes some of the best she's had of any Indian restaurant we have visited. Totally needed in this area. Portions are good sized, flavorful and have a lot of spice. If you don't like heat, be sure you really specify MILD or SUPER MILD. Prices are average for Indian fare. It's an express location and it's nice to have some culture cuisine out this way. read more

So happy to have a half way decent Indian place in the Lith area. I came here and got a take out order to go. The paneer chili dry appetizer was decent, spicy but not too much. The lamb curry however was spiced perfectly and came with lots of meat and gravy. Very good and decent portion size. The butter chicken is also quite good. I'd sure like to see them offer a chicken korma on the menu as well. Plain naan bread was OK. Would like to see a onion naan offered also. And rice does not come with entrees so its $4.00 extra. Overall a little pricey for take out. I will certainly try this place again. read more

First time here. Still a relatively new restaurant. We ordered some standard staples (butter chicken, naan, appetizers, etc.) And were more than pleased. Super delicious. Rich gravy, fresh, chewy breads, plump but dry rice, well cooked chicken. We cant wait to go back. Everything was very tasty. Absolutely delicious! My husband and I ordered carry out tonight. I ordered the butter chicken, it was very good and had a little kick. My husband ordered the tandoori chicken tikka, it was good. We also ordered the paneer makhani which was really good and the veg biryani. The wait was 25 minutes or so. The only bad thing was that they ran out of rice. They said it would take 30 minutes if I wanted to wait or they could give me one of the two orders I ordered. I said I wanted a refund. They refunded me for both orders of rice but still gave me the one order of rice they had left. I thought that was great service. My husband and I will definitely be back. read more

Overall I would not recommend this place. Their strength is in the flavorful sauces, however their prices are very high for what you receive. We have ordered there three times and each time they have been very very stingy with the protein in the dish, especially if it is chicken white meat. The last order which was for Chicken Korma, had a good amount of chicken, but it was dark meat with some gristle and bone. Not good attention to detail. i ordered for the first time from there, i spent 40 minutes getting there, google maps was no help, i called the store agsin and he guided me to the the location, food was ready to be picked up, owner was very courteous and nice, when he found out that i made the trip all the way from richmond he even gave me a free mango lassi, coming to food, food was awesome, both vegetables were very tasty and quantity was good too. cant make that trip all the time but i will be going there at least few times a year. read more
