After a grueling boxing workout, I was looking forward to having a good snack and decided on going to thundercloud in Roundrock. Upon entering, I noticed their​ closing time was 9 pm, so I was slightly apprehensive because it was around 850 pm. There were a couple of people in love, but my order was taken. I then apologized for coming in toward closing, but 2 staff members to immediately​ said that it was okay. Then, they made my sandwich, took payment and I was on my way. Once I got in my car, I decided​ to eat the sandwich​ and was not disappointed​ because​ the meat and toppings were appropriately mixed and that always makes​​s me happy. True Story: I had been unforcefully banned from going to Thundercloud by [someone who is no longer in my life] because it was deemed "hippie" for nearly 9 years. So in an act of sheer "I'm free now rebellion" I grabbed a sub here the other day. My true punishment is that I have missed out on this awesomeness for 9 years. Chicken club was scrumdillyumptious and thunder sauce is the boss. 5 stars for the service. I'm a meat eater. Carnivore. Don't try to convince me otherwise, but yesterday I had the Veggie Delight. :::gasp::: It was pretty good, too. So good that I'm going to put it in my regular Thundercloud rotation with The Club and The California Club. I'm going to make this a review of the Veggie Delight, because most people I know won't do a vegetarian lunch, and they need to know that it is a tasty option. The bread is always good at Thundercloud - it is a soft, slightly chewy roll, and my Veggie Delight was on wheat, natch. I had a choice of hummus or cream cheese, and since I just saw the Paul Giamatti movie "Cold Souls" I had to go with the hummus. If you are in the know, you know why I said hummus, if not... watch the movie. I'd watch Paul Giamatti at the opening of a Carl's Jr. - and I hate Carl's Jr. Anyway, on top of a bed of hummus I told them to drag it through the garden. Sprouts, lettuce, tomato, mushroom, olive, red onion, and thundersauce. You Must Not Forget The Thundersauce! For those of you watching your waist expand, don't fear the Veggie Delight. The large sub clocks in at a very reasonable 629 calories. Skip the chips and add an unsweetened tea, and you can walk out with a happy palate, a full tummy, and no guilt. read more

So this is one of those reviews where I say if I could give zero stars I would. This is the closest location to me but they have let me down more times than I can count now and I have had it! Granted, we like to order sandwiches on a Sunday night but there really is no acceptable excuse for a SANDWICH SHOP to run out of BREAD! My husband and I started going to the Pflugerville location because this has happened to us so many times. This time I ordered at this location by mistake. I thought I was ordering from Grand Avenue Parkway. This had been occurring since before the pandemic shutdown so what is that? At least 6 months? So we go in today to pick up our order, an online, PREPAID order and we are late by about 20 minutes because we went to the wrong location. I walk in and the table does not have our order on it. There are two young men working. Someone had just walked out with an online order and they were waiting to make a shake for another lady with an online order. She walks in and they make her shake right away. At first I am told that he doesn't see an order for me at all. Then I am told, "sorry we ran out of bread". Expecting to pick up two sandwiches and they got nothing for me?! The guy in charge says we can just keep your credit and you can come and get your sandwiches another day. I say, "that was our dinner tonight, you want us to skip dinner?" I am seething! He then says so what can I do? I have him make me a large tunafish salad salad and they put my husband's meatballs and cheese in a takeaway container. No call beforehand to say "Hey we ran out of bread, so what can we get you instead?" NO! I show up and there is no food prepared for us! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! Always a great fan of Thundercloud (just being honest)... the food is fresh, the service is great, and the flavors are always good. I have been to a few Thunderclouds and they are all the same with consistent high quality. Things that make them different: the personalities of the sandwich people are great, they are always so friendly; the ingredients are SO fresh! Alright this is addressing experices both pre and during COVID-19. If somebody could let the peeps at the Round Rock location off Sam Bass that their shitty, snobby, rude staff is a bummer to deal with. They give no fucks about quality, they ask 10 times what you want and make it incorrectly and shrug when you tell them, and act put out when you ask for the toppings that already come with your sandwich. Y'all gotta stop talking shit about how much customers tip right in front of them and who hates who on your shift. I used to pop in for lunch and y'all's shift drama is a drag. If you're calling people that tip $1 on a $7 dollar sandwiches assholes and more, it's tough to want to tip you when you make such a crappy sandwich in the first place. Went for the last time 2 weeks ago and had the same experience, but also had to remind your staff to wear masks! Come on. Y'all know better. Love ThunderCloud but this location may just change that. Not only is the sanitation of the restaurant questionable at best but they have HORRIBLE customer service. We visited the Round Rock location near our house, and it was overall a disgusting experience. Crew members were rough looking, unshaven, and poor hygiene, and did not perform basic food safety such as hand washing, or wearing gloves while handing food. No hand washing was observed nor was there a visible hand sink within view. Employees handled money in between preparing food, which was of poor quality. I even found a hair in my meatball sub. I like the simplicity of the subs here. good bread (though not as good as Jimmy Johns), great toppings. The staff is always nice and service is fast and consistent. Went there last evening 10/18/2021 and ordered a "Austin Club", The "sandwich maker" asked if I wanted everything on it, I said yes. Fast forward, get home and ready to eat and guess what? The sandwich was made without chicken or bacon, That's right my "sandwich maker" thought it best that I be a vegetarian. The "sandwich maker" also failed to mention that they might be out of said ingredients and failed to offer any alternatives. This location has been nothing but a series of disappointments for years now (YES, YEARS). Shame on you and I truly hope this locations reaps everything it deserves (IE. Blockbuster Video). I've stopped by here during my lunch a few times when I'm too lazy to pack a lunch. They're really close to my work, so it's easy to stop over really quick for a sandwich and the service is fast. I've only ever tried the California club on wheat. I keep telling myself I'll try something different, but everytime I go I can't help myself. It's just so yummy that I'm not willing to venture out just yet. The lady with the long hair who took my order was so kind to me. With my husband in the hospital, times are hard for us right now, this kind lady has no idea how much it meant to me what she took care of my meal yesterday. I'm very great-full for her kindness. It has been several years since I walked back into this place and boy did I miss it. I ordered the wonderful Turkey Trot Special and boy oh boy did my guy "LOAD IT UP" !!! The sandwhich was made to perfection. I loved every bite. I can't remember his name, but I use to be his personal banker. Great, if the only sandwich you've ever had was from a gas station. Sauntered in this place for the first time the other day....so glad I did. All the employees were dressed in "Western themed" costumes celebrating my favorite holiday..I ordered a salad and had all my ingredients "professionally installed" by Nolan, a quick witted and even quicker salad assembler of a man. Salad was delish and reasonably priced. Best "desk salad" ever! Ever being the skeptic , I tried it again yesterday to make sure it was not a fluke. I used to love Thundercloud Subs, back before I started having a bad reaction to gluten. Gluten makes me feel horrible!! And so it is very exciting to me when I find a good gluten free option for eating out, especially for a quick and on the go meal. And Thundercloud has gluten free bread!! This makes me happy, but what I really give hem 5 stars for is the service. When you order gluten free, they go above and beyond. They clean off he counter, switch their gloves, get a clean cutting board, new knife, etc. They take every precaution, and I KNOW it is a pain and I feel so bad about it, but I really can't eat gluten and I never feel sick when I eat their sandwiches. So I know it's a pain, but THANK YOU Thundercloud for being awesome and going above and beyond for us gluten free peeps. I also noticed they had a gluten free chocolate chip cake today. We looooovveee thundercloud! I've been going here for years and years and converted my boyfriend from a Subway man to a die-hard thundercloud fan. We come her about once a week when we have the money and are never disappointed. Everyone is always really nice here and they make delicious sandwiches. A relative of mine is gluten intolerant, and they do a very good job of making sure there's no cross contamination when prepping gluten free sandwiches. This location has rude employees. This is my 2nd visit, which I was hesitant to even go back since my 1st visit a year ago an employee was rude to me. This time, the girl making my sandwich was rude. She asks if I wanted mayo or mustard, I told her no thank you I would like just extra thunder sauce. Her reply was, we"ll take one step at a time okay?? Long and short of it, is I ended up with my sandwich being incorrect with no thunder sauce. So instead of being rude, even when she was asking what condiments I wanted on there. My children like the subs from Thundercloud so we order on occasion. DO NOT make the mistake of ordering ON LINE here! The diptwits at this location *never* look at the fax machine to see if any orders have come in. According to the staff, the fax machine is "too quiet" and therefore they do not "hear" the order come in! We have been burned twice by "ordering" online. The first time this happened, the staff offered us a free drink (we declined) and the second time they were rude and snotty and told us, "they were busy" and "to call instead of ordering online!"
