My friends and I worked up an appetite after hiking around Angel's Island. Tiburon Tavern had some great reviews, although unfortunately, we didn't get the same dining in. We walked-in to find the place empty. Come to find out, they had barely closed for lunch but willing to let us dine in with the exception of ordering any entrees with egg. We all skimmed the menu and figured to give it a chance. We chose to sit outside although after 20 minutes, the wasps came buzzing around and it became unbearable to eat in peace. We carried our entrees in and was led to a nice table towards the back. The interior is beautiful and is connected to a pretty hotel with an awesome courtyard. Oh wait, but you're wanting to know about the food though? Not good and not worth the price unfortunately. The rundown: Salmon Salad (x2) - The salmon was very dry to a point my friends laughed because it looked like chicken. It did have an interesting flavor to it, although I think the pear sauce is the saving grace. Not worth $29 if you ask me though. My friend ordered the same thing but hers filet looked better than mine haha. Steak Tacos - A friend was told by a waitress that their steak tacos were huuuuuge and that two will fill you up. He got his tacos and laughed because they were pretty small. He did comment that the steak tasted good and that the salsas were decent. He asked for hot sauce but they didn't have any so he says, "it's a no-go for me." Quinoa salad - Friend asked if they could add chicken on the side and they were able to accommodate that! The presentation was really nice and she approved of her meal. Honestly, she probably got the best out of all of us haha. Tavern Burger - HUGE. Friend ordered all the extras and he had a hard time finishing it haha. He enjoyed the truffle fries too! So you're probably wondering, "well Shannen, most of the things are practically good, why 2 stars?!" Well I'll tell you why.... My last friend ordered the tavern burger with an impossible patty. When he got his burger, all he received was the bun and the patty. So he asked our waitress, where's all the lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, mayo and mustard? Her reply? Oh, well people who order the impossible patty don't want any of the other stuff. He replied, well... it does come with it right? I didn't ask for it to be removed... she left, went to the kitchen, and came back with the rest of his burger lol. I felt really bad because he waited the longest to get his burger and on top of that.. they did it wrong! Overpriced meals but heck you pay for the ambiance. My in law family was in town and we went there for dinner. Get table via open table and it was seamless. Food are excellent. We ordered mussel and hamachi for starters and they are tasty Salmon dish was delicious also mahi mahi. We had such fabulous time there. Service was fabulous. read more

This is my second review of the Tavern. I came for brunch and ordered the lox. I really liked that it wasn't served on a bagel, but on a delicious multigrain bread. The lox portion was generous and fresh. The photo is a little misleading, as the order was supposed to come with an arugula salad, but I don't like arugula:) And as previously noted, the service here is friendly and efficient! read more

Ok me and the wife went for a staycation and stayed at the The Lodge at Tiburon. We found out there was a restaurant attached to the hotel. The wife and I had brought the dog and I wanted to watch the Raiders play. The owner was so nice and accommodating for us where we could have a dog and see the game. The food was so good we shared the ahi tuna and the truffle fries. They have great beer on tap and have a full bar. The staff is so nice and friendly. What we ordered: Buffalo wings, ceviche, and calamari What was wrong: Buffalo wings didn't taste like buffalo wings! How do you screw this up? It tasted like a LaCroix Barbecue sauce was used to toss the wings. Like the hint of barbecue sauce, even though the wings were saucy. And then they didn't even have a nice crisp! Like dominos serves better wings than this. Ceviche tasted super fishy. Like not the good kind of fresh fish taste. Like the how old is this fish, kind of taste. The presentation was nice but the fish was rubbery and not melt in your mouth tender. We hosted a large party at Tiburon Tavern. The service could not have been better. The wait staff were wonderful. We were impressed that all the plates came at the same time - no waiting for one or two last orders. The food was excellent and the price was reasonable for such a large party. Hello... I am still thinking about my visit to Tiburon Tavern last week. First time there...won't be the last for sure. My sister and a friend had lunch outside under an umbrealla. It was about 60° that day..simply beautiful My friend and I shared the bruschetta and the zucchini blossoms. I also had the spinach salad. The two appetizers were excellent...the spinach salad needed a lift...still was pretty good. My sister had the Margherita Pizza..she enjoyed it as well. Somehow we managed to have dessert which is very rare. We had a slice of ricotta cheesecake and vanilla bean ice cream. The cheesecake was not to our liking...the vanilla ice cream was good. We come here to meet any friends who are visiting and staying at the Lodge. Ambiance is very nice both inside and out. There are heat lamps for outside, so it's snugly if the temp drops suddenly. We have had just about everything on the menu here, and never had bad plate! Every single one of the appetizers are delicious! This is the only restaurant I can actually say that about. 2 stars is being generous. On Father's Day, my family and I dined here and had a terrible experience. Upon arrival, things go well and we are seated and asked our apps & entrees at a good time. What was very disappointing, though, was the amount of time waiting for apps (only 2 items) and entrees: 45 - 50 minutes for our appetizers, then another 10 minutes for only half of our entrees, and FINALLY about 7 minutes for the rest of the meals. During our wait time, the hostess, who took our order, was apologetic and offered various things, at different moments, to make up for our very long wait: free dessert, free drinks (which we don't drink), discount on our meals. Her, another kind waiter (young male, maybe Hispanic, wears glasses), and the food itself (grilled salmon, veggie fajitas, seafood, grilled sea bass), were probably a saving grace to this review. I've seen the gift certificate offer replies to the various critical comments, and must say a gift certificate won't make up for the lackluster service & long wait time. We were here last year and we loved the lobster hash so we all ordered it and yeah it's still good - the Best! We also ordered the French toast and it's delish! Staff courteous and welcoming. Our reservation was at 10 but got there 20 mins early and they seated right away. First inside but it was too hot for us so we transferred to the patio. Glad we did as it was a beautiful day. Excellent lunch! I had the waffles/chicken combo, did not disappoint! My lunch partner had the pumpkin ravioli, it was also quite good. We stayed at the tiburon lodge and decided to have dinner here one night. There aren't a lot of reviews on Yelp but the menu looked good so we decided to try the place . The hostess Lily was wonderful! You're greeted right away with a smiling face and bubbly personality which sets a great tone for any dining experience. We came towards the later end of happy hour and I had the spicy wings which were absolutely delicious! My husband had the burger and truffle fries which are good too. The bartender William was the only one making drinks for a full outdoor seating of groups of 10 and inside and he did an exceptional job under what I perceived as a busy night and not messing up any of our orders. For happy hour you have to order at the bar and he was putting Those orders in as well as making cocktails for the general dinner crowd. Just be kind and patient .... understand most places are short staffed and trying their best to accommodate you in a timely manner. If I was rating this place just based on service and ambience I would without a doubt give it 5 stars, but I have never felt so ripped off when dining out before. I realize that prices have increased since the pandemic but $13 for chips , salsa and guacamole is astronomical. Mexican restaurants are still offering them free with your meal, so the price couldn't of gone up that much. We were shown the happy hour menu and told we only had a few minutes to order because happy hour was ending. I made a rash discussion and choose the chips and salsa. It was served in a small condiment tray where we got no more than a table spoon of guac and two kinds of salsa. It took less than 4 chips to eat everything. We asked the staff for more. They said they could only bring us salsa. That made me feel a little better. After all tortilla chips are boring without salsa or guacamole. I was grateful for the staff as they were genuine and super attentive. Perhaps, I would give it another try, but not bother with the Happy Hour Menu, as there was nothing Happy about it. read more

Very disappointed. Thursday night. Ordered the pork chop.There was no lovely char, no spices, nothing to make it interesting. The veggies had more distinguished flavors. Honestly, at these prices I expected better. I wasn't going to say anything because it was very eatable. The chop was tender and jucy. There was an apple butter on the side, and sadly it didn't help. I ended up talking to my very nice server and she talked me into the ribeye. She was very nice and I felt a little embarrassed. I cooked and baked professionally for 30 years, so I don't send back food willy-nilly. The ribeye was very fatty, and tough. Cooked perfectly, but once again only salted. I really wanted to like it. Honestly, it looked like the same steak I got at Applebee's a few weeks ago, and for half the price. I did eat it, and got full with some left over for the dog. As you can see, it was really big. If you check my reviews, you'll notice I'm stingy with high ratings. Tiburon Tavern gets one from me. First of all: I messed up and paid for parking at the municipal lot. Note to self: "Hey stupid, this is a hotel - they have a parking lot in back!" The sturgeon, tortellini and ravioli resulted in clean plates. Same can be said for the appetizers and desserts. The salmon was undercooked to order perfect. We found chardonnay by the glass to be some of the best. Service was extremely attentive. We did not visit the full-service bar. It looks like one can eat there too. The night we were there a duo was playing "lounge lizard music." We found limited space on the wood floor for a few rumbas and swing. If fact, it was the music that drew us to Tiburon Tavern for dinner. Everything is clean and tidy. Today, I rode bicycle with a friend from Berkeley to San Francisco. We decided to stop in Tiburon at The Tiburon Tavern which was a surprise that upgraded our amazing ride to epic!. My friend had the Benedict and I had a Club Sandwich. Both were delicious . The outdoor seating was super comfortable, They even had furniture with cushions which is appreciated after 2 hours on bicycle. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The service was prompt. I just had lunch today at the Tiburon Tavern. Loved it. This is my 4th time enjoying all the different menu items especially the desserts. I have had the burger, openface sandwich, tavern salad and the fish and chips. All so delicious. The outdoor dining so spacious. Bloody Mary's excellent. Today I had a double dessert. I had the same dessert both times. They have an outstanding pastry chef. Friendly service one of the best choices in Tiburon. First, set your GPS to the Lodge at Tiburon. It's about .2 miles away from the waterfront area. Parking is the hotel parking. It was free on the Saturday I was there. My GPS originally took me to the wrong place when I programmed it to the Tiburon Tavern. We made reservations. The tavern offers indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and some tables had umbrellas and there were heating lamps. This was my first time here and pleasantly surprised. Food was yummy and better than expected. Service was good but a little aloof. The apps goat cheese arugula salad and chicken satay were on point. Fresh greens with a lightly sweetened vinegrette dressing and candied pecans! The chicken was well cooked, moist and grilled perfectly and came with a little curry/peanut dipping sauce. It came with 3 skewers on a hot plate ( I love that extra touch of the hot plate). The chicken provolone sandwich came on a ciabatta bun and more arugula--- delish! The fries were perfectly fried and hot! I would definitely go back again. We walked down to the waterfront and had gelato and explored. Free parking so why not enjoy a stroll. This was a nice place to have lunch, the view outdoors is the street and next door is Fire Station but the food made up for the lack of view. read more

Scheduled a reception at Tiberon Tavern and Coco handled everything and gave us a fantastic time with family and friends! From the reception area ambiance, to the plethora of fantastic food, to the attentive service by all the staff, everything was top notch! Being out of town, and not knowing what to expect in setting this up, Coco walked me through everything, worked with me on the budget, and made contact with other parties that would be attending to make sure everything was taken care of. I cannot give her enough accolades as she helped to make this a truly memorable event and was easy to work with. I rarely ever write reviews but I did want to write a genuine one for this place since it seems more reviews are needed for this place. As someone who likes to find places that give great experiences, I do want to say that this restaurant has A LOT of potential, there was nothing terrible about this place but there was also nothing that had me at a loss for words either. The design of the space was really cool to me; favorite part being the blackboard by the bar that shows where all the local spirits and drinks come from. We sat at a table by the bar and although the space was nice, we did notice puddles of some sort of liquid under a table adjacent to us and the bar smelled too much of cleaning chemicals. The menu was easy to navigate and the drink menu was very expansive. The service was decent. The staff was attentive and friendly. The only thing I would say is that they didn't really introduce themselves which was a bummer because we like to get to know the people who are taking care of us. The glassware was clean but there was water spots everywhere and seemed like they needed some more polishing so that they would look a lot cleaner than they did. As for the food, we ordered the Prime Burger, Steak and Eggs, and the Portobello Mushroom Fries. The mushroom fries were definitely our favorite out of the three things we ordered. The Prime burger was soggy at the bottom but was still decent. The steak and eggs were decent, the potatoes were a little too buttery and the steak cut itself was okay. All in all, I would recommend this place to people if they needed a quick bite to eat while traveling around Northern California. I was very impressed with this restaurant. We went there spur of the moment and made a rsvp 30 minutes before we arrived. We sat outside. The patio was lovely and very comfortable. Our server was wonderfully attentive. I wish I could remember her name. The cocktails were top notch. My bf loved his Manhattan and they also had his fav beer on tap. The food was exceptional. My bf really liked his pork chop. It was cooked perfectly and paired well with carrots and sweet potato fries. I chose the salmon and was very impressed. Everything about it was superb, from the beans to the mushrooms. The presentation was lovely and last but not least, the strawberry cheesecake was yummy! We love the Tiburon tavern!!! My husband and I often go there for a nice dinner and when the weather is nice we also love to dine out on their nice big patio. Great food and atmosphere! the owner is Italian and his wife is English and they are both lovely people. My husband and I often dine out in Marin and this is one of our favorite place to go. I went here for a father's day dinner with my parents and sibling. Got there and we got seated and things started out good. Hostess was nice and she even took our order. We gave her our appetizer order and entree order since we knew what we wanted. 10-15min passes a guy came by to see if our order was taken and we said yes and thanked him for checking. Another 10-15min goes by and I'm wondering where our food is. The hostess apologizes for the delay and says they're short staffed. The guy who asked if our order was taken comes by and apologized for our food being late. Few minutes later, a second guy comes and greets us like we just sat here and asked if we're ready to order... after that, I'm wondering if he was suppose to be our server. If he was, well he's super slow or totally forgot about us. We're still waiting for our appetizers which at this point is almost 45min of waiting and the hostess comes back and apologizes and says dessert will be on them and she'll bring a dessert menu. She comes back later with coupons for cocktails. I tell her we don't drink and she says she doesn't either. Then she tells us they'll give us a discount, so we say ok. By now it's almost an hour and we FINALLY get our appetizers. We finish and the first guy who helped us apologizes and says something is up with the kitchen and staff. We're waiting again for our entree. The 2nd guy who tried to take our order comes out with 3 sea bass and comes to our table asking if we ordered 3 sea bass and i say we didn't order 3 sea bass, but I was about to say we did have an order of sea bass, the table next to us says they ordered 3 and he goes to them gives them the sea bass and walks away as I'm trying to say something to him. Let me just say, the table next to us got there after my family and I sat and ordered. We've been waiting for our food and they got their food before us. They heard us say we did order one but the waiter left before he heard us. We did tell them it's interesting that they got their food before us and they were nice enough to offer one to us, but we declined because 1. It's not their fault, 2. I didn't want to take someone else's food after it's been given to them. That same waiter comes back out to take the order of another table and I got his attention to tell them that we did have an order of sea bass after he left without listening to me. After I told him, he rudely said to me that because they ordered 3 and I ordered 1 they take priority because all the dishes come out together instead of by them self. He also made it very clear in a rude way that he has no control over it and that he can't do anything about it and they get it first even though they sat and ordered after us because they ordered 3 sea bass.. at that point I was close to leaving, but after he left then maybe 5 minutes later my dad's entree and mine came out. Only 2 plates came out and then waited 5min or a little after 5min my mom's and sibling's dish came out, which was one of the sea bass. When that happened, in my mind I thought, didn't that guy JUST tell me they serve all the dishes together? How come all four dishes didn't come out the same time. When I got my dish, which was a fajita, I started to eat it to see how long it would take for the other two dishes to come out. I was almost halfway done with my fajita before the other two dishes came out.. after we finished eating, the first guy helped us out who apologized again, told us that dessert was on them. We got the dessert menu, nothing caught our eye, so instead we got discounted on our entire meal. The hostess again apologized and said she was surprised we were so patient. If it was her she would've left and in my head I was thinking, we almost did leave and we are irritated with what happened. If it wasn't for the hostess and the first guy(Hispanic, young guy with glasses) who kept apologizing and was friendly to us I would've left and given a 1 star, maybe not even a star. Food was mediocre.. I've been wanting to try this place and everything didn't meet me expectation. I was so disappointed. My mom had the sea bass, my sibling had the salmon, my dad had the seafood pasta, I had the vegetable fajita. We didn't think any of it would take long but we were wrong apparently.
