I loved how casual and friendly this place was. Ordered the French Toast and loved it. Very cheap and a great simple diner.

I have been here twice. The first time, I got food poisoning. The second time, I got hair in my salad. I only came back because we were offered a free meal if we would give it another shot after calling from the ER. I have not been in a couple of years, and I will not be back since a MUCH better breakfast diner opened two years ago right across the street. Went here a couple of years ago with Jay, I remember I couldnt decide what to get so I had a salad, this is one of those places with regulars that sit at the counter all day nursing that 1 cup of coffee and smoking up the joint. Went in with high hopes for a hometown tasting breakfast. I was disappointed. I ordered biscuits and gravy and it was missing the creamy texture it tasted more like water and vinegar... with a little milk mixed in. The hash browns, eggs, and bacon were decent. I did enjoy my hot chocolate. My husband ordered the steak breakfast and it was disappointing for him as well. The service from our waitress was deplorable...the saving grace was another waitress who was kind and welcoming and gave our daughter a stuffed toy she had in back. If it was not for her this place would be getting a lower rating. read more

We stopped here for breakfast. We got basic food items; scrambled eggs, grits/hash browns, bacon and biscuits with gravy. It was good but nothing special. I ordered hash browns which came on my plate and my hubs ordered grits which came on my plate. Not a big deal. The service was very friendly. Since moving to NOLA I've been hearing their quirky commercials on AM radio every freakin' day...so when I saw it just off Causeway Bl., I figured I'd give them a try. Boy, am I glad I did. Absolutely no frills, slightly surly but totally sweet waitresses...and TONS of food for next to nothing. I only have breakfast here and really doubt I'll try the rest of the menu. Huge omelets, crispy bacon, tasty sausage, and a mound of hash browns is all it takes me happy...at least as far as breakfast is concerned. And they do it really well. First time here this morning. This place was across the street from our hotel. The staff was friendly and we were taken cared of in a timely manner. I had coffee and the chicken friend steak with over hard eggs and hash browns. Everything was well prepared and the portions were generous. I would gladly stop by again the next time I am in town. read more

This place is awesome! The food was delicious, the order came quickly and we were a party of 8. What I want to emphasize on is the service of the entire staff. They were amazing! Very friendly and catering to all of our needs. We have four young children and I was shocked when the cook came out to check on us and began to cut up my 5 year old's pancake. Well, my family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn across the way before our cruise- and I am SOOOOO GLADDDDD we had breakfast before our initial port. My family and I waited a bit before we got seated, it was well worth the wait. We are from San Antonio Tx, and this is the best service,the best Food we've had Ever! Then on the way in from our cruise, my step son wanted to come back to eat at Tic. I'm glad we did,the owner of the place told us to watch out for our waitress cause she was mean! This little 24/7 location is a great comparison to bigger chains like Waffle House and IHOP. There are a few advantage to this cafe. The staff look like they are happy with job job. In essence the crew here take care of you with great hospitality. The food quality here is just as good as bigger chains. The prices are very economical. My favorite is the biscuits and gravy. The gravy is actually homemade and not the powder fake crap. read more

Tic-Toc Cafe is the best cafe in Metairie!!! The owner waitresses and even the cooks know and learn the customers by name! They know what you for your meal and even keep your own personal mug for coffee. The service is obviously above and beyond what is expected. My daughter never forgets the moment when we came in and tried to get a doll out the toy machine. We were not able to get it but the owner steeped in and put over $7 in the machine and got it for her. Talk about family memories!!! read more

We went to this cafe last night after a comedy show. We like to eat at different places when we visit out of town. The cashier & staff was very nice. We got two cheeseburgers (one with bacon) to go since our hotel was across the highway. The burger was horribly burnt. It was not edible at all. We even tried to peel off the outer burnt edges of the meat so we could it eat to no avail. It honestly was one of the worst burgers I've ever had. I thought since it was a cute little cafe that was open 24/7 that it would be amazing but it was horrible. read more

In town, hotel breakfast was bad so we came to Tic-Toc. They were really busy. We were seated in good time servers were very nice and service was good. They even changed the tv for me to put on the football game. Then the food came. We both had omelets. The food was very basic and good. This is not a gourmet place, but for the price, it was excellent. The following day as we left the hotel to go home, we went in a second time. We really enjoyed the relaxed ambiance and the food was good. Price for two breakfast is less than $20 before tip. read more

The waiter was super nice I ordered pancakes and eggs and the eggs were a little burned, i tried to eat around the burned pieces until i just moved it to the side to finish the delicious pancakes. The waiter asked me how everything was and I told him "really good except the eggs were a little burned" he apologized and told me that he would take it off my ticket, i let him know that he DIDN'T have to do that and that it is fine. He persisted in taking it off my ticket and asked me if i would like something else to replace them, and I asked him for Hashrowns. He informed the cook in what i wanted. About two minutes later the cook rushed to my table with the plate of eggs and rudely asked me "where is this burned?, u want us to replace it something else but we cant give free food away, show me the burned pieces because if it was burned it would have been black, u ate most of it, im the manager, and i dont see anything burned here, i would have to charge you for it" he kept going on for about a minute or two saying "where is this burned" "i dont see what your talking about" over and over even after i told him it tasted burned, it felt like he was being racist, he was talking AT me in the most rude and demeaning way it was awful, I never even asked for free food in fact i told the waiter that he didnt have to take it off because to me it wasnt a big deal. But that cook made it a big deal. I dont know if the cook was offended because his eggs was a bit burned, but treating me that way because i didnt like something was totally uncalled for, unprofessional, and beyond rude, i never experienced such cruel behavior from the service industry...... I then told the "manager" "dont worry about the hashbrowns" because i just wanted to go at that point, and he responded "ok" without a care in the world. The waiter came back apologizing for what happened and gave me the bill and i thanked the waiter for his kindness, and i kindly walked out and i wont come back or recommend this place to anyone,. read more
