If you're on vacation near the beach and wake up hungry, do yourself a favor and head over to TidePoole's. This little spot sits right across from the ocean and operates on the kind of hours that make sense for vacationers, open at 8 a.m. and closing at 3 p.m. Perfect timing for a slow morning and a serious breakfast. While scanning the menu, one item kept jumping out at me: the Wakey Wakey Breakfast Burrito. It clearly had a reputation. The only hesitation? The price. At $17 for a single burrito, expectations get pretty high. At that price point, the burrito can't just be good, it has to show up and perform like an Allstar. Luckily, this burrito absolutely delivered! I ordered for a family of six, which turned out to be a strategic move because it allowed me to sample a few different versions. First up was the bacon breakfast burrito, which was fantastic: flavorful, hearty, and easily a solid four star burrito on its own. Then I tried the sausage version... and BAM! Somehow it was even better. At that point, I thought I had already reached the peak of breakfast burrito greatness. Five star territory achieved. Case closed. Or so I thought. Then came the chorizo breakfast burrito and let me tell you. This thing was on another level entirely. If the bacon was great and the sausage was excellent, the chorizo was a slice of breakfast heaven wrapped in a tortilla. It completely stole the show. And that's not a knock on the others, they were legitimately great but the chorizo version was just that much better. Another bonus: these burritos are huge. Realistically, one burrito could easily feed two people unless you're particularly ambitious or exceptionally hungry after a sunrise beach walk. The salsa served with the burritos was also excellent and paired perfectly with everything. If you're feeling adventurous, you can ask for additional sauces as well to customize the experience. So yes, $17 for a burrito might initially make you pause, but in this case the gamble paid off especially if you go with the chorizo. Between the portion size, the flavor, and the beachside setting, it ends up feeling like money well spent. Bottom line: If you find yourself near the beach in the morning and want a breakfast that lives up to the hype, TidePoole's Wakey Wakey Breakfast Burrito is absolutely worth the stop. Just one warning: You may walk in thinking you'll share a burrito... and walk out wishing you had ordered another. read more

been going here for years but new ownership I feel has made quality go down and price go up :( Ordered the thick cut fries that I've always gotten that are still listed on the menu and when I got home (ordered take out) they soggy gross and were breaded and SO THIN. I called them to ask if they are gluten free because someone I was sharing them with is celiac. Also so confused why thick was listed if they changed them. They said that the packaging didn't say so that means they are probably bulk and frozen. So sad miss the old owner :( read more

TP was highly rated, so I gave it a try. I got a simple vegetarian breakfast burrito. When I walked in, the cashier didn't have any customers but didn't make any indication that he was going to help me. I said hi, I have a pick up order for __. He looked at me, but still didn't respond, but he did find my order. It was weird lol. On to the burrito. Size was fair, came with pretty good salsa. The thing I thought was weird was they seem to deep fry the hash browns so that they are deeply crunchy, almost to the point that they hurt the roof of your mouth. Situated right on coast highway with windows to allow the ocean breeze in while you enjoy your food is the best. Almost everything has avocado or guacamole, which is my kind of place. We shared a club sandwich and wished we had room for more food. The bread wasn't over toasted where it cuts up your mouth so we got to enjoy our food without having to be cautious. We were greeted by the owner who was extremely friendly and went through the entire menu with us. She recommended the tuna sandwich "her way" which my husband ended up getting and I got the breakfast burrito because there was a customer eating one and he absolutely recommended it. There are a few great small businesses in this area if you're looking for a bite. We found TidePoole's on Yelp ahead of time and after stopping up the way for some coffee, came in for lunch. Inside, there are a few tables for self seating. There is no table service here, you order and pay at the counter. My fiancé was sad to learn they were not serving breakfast burritos past noon, but found a solid second option with a pizza. I had the pesto chicken sandwich. Our food came out in good time and tasted pretty good. The best part of both our meal were the fries. So tasty. The interior is kept clean and there are multiple TVs on. There's inconsistency in the breakfast burritos. Referring to the Wakey Wakey burrito... This time around it was 99% eggs and not much else. First of all the secret ingredient in my opinion is the crispy hash browns inside. However this time there was nearly no hash browns present (see my latest picture on the white plate). Also there was nearly no guacamole nor cheese, nor meat. I understand that worldwide food costs have gone up, but I'd rather pay more for a loaded burrito than pay the same for a scaled back burrito. I also tried the pizza this time and it was pretty good. I got the South Swell pizza. It was a nice thin crust with a slight crunch. I'm happy that they serve coffee now, and it's nice and bold. However I found it odd that they only had Sweet n Low packets available. He had to go into the back and get me a bulk side dish of regular sugar. read more

Support local! TidePoole's service is just as incredible as the food. This place has excellent breakfast burritos and sandwiches. My all time favorite is the pastrami sandwich. I order it with extra coleslaw. When I'm craving pastrami, this is my go-to spot! They're doing a great job adapting to covid. You can pickup food outside of their glass window, they're enforcing social distancing, wearing masks and have hand sanitizer available. They even converted their small parking lot behind their restaurant to a seating area. Absolutely love this spot. Come grab your food to go and walk across the street to the beach. Went at 12:20 pm on a Sunday after yoga. Was so excited for a breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich. They advised us breakfast was over but sometimes they extend it if there's enough people. Place was packed so I'm not sure why it wouldn't have been extended. Just think it's SO annoying that restaurants do this. Especially on a Sunday. It's brunch just leave it till like 2:00ish. We left and were super bummed. Also for people trying to eat protein and healthy eggs & veggies are healthier than pizza & quesadillas so there was nothing else I wanted. Not sure how this place doesn't have a full 5 stars but it's AMAZING!!!!! We always grab one of their pizzas whenever we go to the beach. We have had their margarita pizza which is a 10/10!
