Is there a kids menu at Tidepools?

Yes they have a kids menu at Tidepools.

My husband packed great shirts but managed not to forget shorts 🤦🏻‍♀️ and my reservation is Thursday, do I need to cancel?

I went in shorts and a shirt. No problem

We will be celebrating an anniversary and want to bring our favorite wine as the 1st bottle. What is the corkage fee? Thank you.

$35 up to 2nd

Is there a dress code?

Smart casual.

Can I bring in a small outside cake for our wedding dinner reception of 9 people? If yes, will there be a fee to cut or can we cut and serve ourselves?

Aloha Vangie, no, we do not allow outside cakes. Our pastry team would be happy to make something for you. If you can please email infokauai@hyatt.com I can email you the cake book & form. Aloha.

I called to change my reservation and left a message.. no one has called me back. Celebrating an anniversary and special occasion?

Hi, please email me the desired changes for your reservation & I will ensure it gets to the manager and hopefully we can fulfill the request. Email infokauai@hyatt.com. Mahalo.

I want to take my girlfriend here on October 2, 2021. can i walk-in or do I need to make a reservation?

Reservations absolutely recommended and safest. Their bar area is "first come" but relatively small. You can also get lucky and walk-in and benefit from a no show - that worked for my family. But, I wouldn't count on it. Good luck.

Just had my reservation auto-changed from 5:45 to 7:45 and to a day sooner. Does this happen often and is it worth the hassle?

Hi Becky N., I am not aware of this ever happening. Can you please reach out to me at infokauai@hyatt.com so that I can get more info and look into it. Mahalo.

What are the happy hour hours and what are the deals? Thank you

Every time we're in Kauai, always dine at Eating once or twice. Fantastic food, service and views…read more We had reservations which are highly recommended. Request a table near the windows for a sunset view. We arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. Shortly afterwards we were served complementary spicy edamame. We ordered three appetizers to share. Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower, Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar and Vietnamese Style Sashimi. The Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower was excellent, golden raisins and pine nuts add sweetness and texture, balsamic vinegar counters with wonderful acid contrast. The Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar is simply fabulous, one of the best bites I have ever had. I first had this dish two years ago when it was introduced as a new dish in a prefix meal. On that trip we returned to enjoy the dish once again. Had it again last year as I travel to Kauai each year. I'm happy to see it is still on the menu! Our third dish was the Vietnamese Style Sashimi and it was okay, although a bit underwhelming for Eating House standards. It was fresh but lack the complexity that I have grown to expect from this restaurant. We requested some wasabi and it helped with the flavors. My thinking is the jalapeño oil should have been more concentrated or pronounced. To be clear I did not complain, regardless the dish was removed from our bill. Very nice. Thank you. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The view at sunset was amazing. Looking forward to returning. Highly recommended!

It was great to know that there was an elevator to bring us up to the level of the restaurant…read more After a terrible experience at another restaurant, it gave me the idea to call and see if they had an elevator near by. The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing. But they did have the best of the Roy's dishes. So far, it has been the best experience that we have had in Poipu.

Service is so prompt, friendly and attentive. He was great 10/10. Thanks, Greg! Everyone in my party loved their dinners. Short rib, miso cacio e pepe and crab crusted fresh catch. Our server was Jonny; he was welcoming and friendly. Our first round of cocktails was not to our liking. We told Jonny and took care of it and brought back perfectly made Manhattans. He made the evening even more enjoyable. The food was Excellent. There is a section of the menu where you can pick two entrées and are then served a half portion of each. Three of the guests at our table had the duo. They all enjoyed them and the lamp rack was the clear stand out. I had the filet. It was perfectly cooked. The potatoes, mushrooms and asparagus served with it were delicious. I would highly recommend dinner at Rum Fire ask for Jonny to serve you.

Best meal of the trip. That seared ahi with jasmine garlic rice is something I'll go back home…read moredreaming about. It was a perfect sear (didn't taste wasabi but the shoyu flavor sear is to die for), complementary flavors of the rice and perfectly seasoned wok bok slaw. The wagyu tenderloin and Mac nut crusted fish were also so, so delicious. Honestly, I'd be happy to eat any of these three entrees. The tako escargot was beyond over cooked, however the flavors were exceptional. I'd order it again and give it another try. Tastes just like authentic French escargot, and make sure to dip the provided bread into all that delicious butter. We ended the night with the chocolate purse and it was so light, but still so fulfilling. This location kicks mauis locations butt in food! Server was great and knew lots of fun facts about the Merriman restaurants. They were very accommodating with my baby. Thanks for the best meal of our trip, Merrimans!

These are special employees who go above and beyond who need raise or promotion. Already sent this to Hyatt feedback but hope management at Kauai sees this: Morgan front desk, immensely appreciated her help prior to arrival in making sure our stay was as celebratory and comfortable as possible, very nice and accommodating on phone, she was pivotal in making our stay enjoyable as i got sick during trip and spent majority in room Mylene at spa, truly exceptional massage, prior 32 yrs experience shines and this was the best massage of my life. She is also the sweetest and you should request her for your massage. Despite being the last client of the day for her, she totally exceeded expectations and i am so glad i met her Jayden at pool desk, went out of his way to run and find my sunglasses in the housekeeping basement as quickly as possible before i had to rush to check out, so very grateful for him

We were booked at this hotel for a birthday and our 39th Anniversary…read more We were told we had a great room, facing the ocean. Our room location was the last room at the far end of our building, overlooking a parking lot and in a terrible location. Room #6146 We didn't want to question this as we were tired from our plane trip and we didn't want this special occasion to be damped by any negativity. We were highly disappointed in the room and the location. Our room was a bit dated and we were surprized that the Hyatt didn't offer us an upgrade under our circumstances, as we were very specific. We would have paid more if they had explained the room properly, as we were very specific and we would have upgraded. We relied on the Hotel's reservation desk to direct us. They made a huge mistake which effected our trip. All in all, the grounds were beautiful and the service was excellent. We spent alot of money and we were determined to make this a memorable occasion. We were very disappointed.
