I ended up breaking half of one of my acrylic nails one afternoon. It started to bug me a lot (as I kept playing with it). When it happened, I decided to wait it out and go to a nail salon the next day in San Jose to my regular spot. As time went by that afternoon, I couldn't take it anymore! It continued to bug me! I wasn't down for the drive to San Jose that day. I was being really lazy, so I searched on Yelp in hopes for a legit salon around the Santa Cruz area. (And let me tell ya, Santa Cruz does not have the best nail salons.) I ended up not finding one to my taste, so in the end, I decided to go with Tiffany's Nails. For Tiffany's Nails, I had some hopes of the place because I seriously didn't want a bad job done on me. When I got there, it was SO HARD to communicate with one of the employees. I had to repeat myself about 4-5 times before the employee finally understood what I wanted. I finally got seated to get my acrylic nails taken off. With acrylics, I didn't know exactly how it's supposed to be taken off since I never had acrylic nails done before, so I assumed it wasn't going to be a painful process. But boy, was I wrong. It hella was! I was anticipating for the process to be over soooo badly. My nails were super sensitive after. She ended up breaking a couple of my nails while at it too. It kind of disappointed me cos I wanted to keep them long. ): Anyway, I ended up getting a manicure for $10. Very good price. She filed my nails the way I wanted it after I had to correct her once. I got a legit hand/arm massage, as well as a short shoulder massage. They were on point! I really enjoyed it. As for the nail painting, she did not do a very good job. I am really bad at putting nail polish onto my own nails, and I feel like she did a much worser job than I would do usually. I was totally upset at this! She got some polish onto my skin and the polish was not even on my nails evenly (Some were bubbly, some just had too much polish). I left the place with the decision I was going to do them all over when I got home... and I did. I didn't even care that they didn't dry completely when I left. The pedicure was fine, but I came with a group of 4 people- with an appointment- and they had us all sit next to each other, but they only gave us our pedicures one by one. I would have much preferred that we were all helped at the same time, given that we were in a group. The woman who gave me my pedicure was really nice and friendly, but she was obviously in a rush (to help my friends, of course!), so I kind of felt like a cow in the slaughter line. While everyone was very pleasant, I left the appointment very unsatisfied with my nails. The UV light kept turning off and the tech didn't keep my hands in there any longer. I know the gel nails did not dry properly as there are ridges and bumps on the nail polish. There was paint on my fingers and on the skin around the nail. It's been 3 days and the toenail polish has completely chipped off of a few toes and the gel polish on my hand has started to chip. I wish I read the reviews about other people having the same experience with their gel not drying completely. This is just about one of the only nail salons that I went to regularly... The place is very clean, all the tools are sanitized, and the staff is very nice. Everything is pretty much new (I think it opened 2-3 years ago). You get to sit on the massage chairs for pedicures without paying extra, and they give you this great exfoliating scrub on your legs as part of the whole experience. Tiffany is awesome. She never rushes and always makes sure that you are completely happy with your nails. I wish there was a '0 stars' option. Tiffany's was always my best friends go-to salon for nails, so this morning I decided to come with her. It started out okay, we were both assigned a nail technician (mine was a man named Kenny, I believe) and he started taking off my old nails (he gave me a brand new full set even though I just asked for fills). As he tried to remove my acrylics, he TORE into my actual nail, which hurt a lot. He did this several more times before he finished taking them off. I let it slide, they'd just opened 15 minutes before, and we were the second customers inside. Things only got worse from there, though. Even though Kenny asked me how long I wanted my nails, he cut them shorter than I had requested and then filed them even shorter. At this point a woman came in and said she had an appointment with him at 10:30, which was just awkward, and he began to clearly rush my nails. He started putting on the acrylic powder but it was all over my fingers and not smooth. He then began filing my already too-short nails even shorter, and ended up jacking up the powder (which was still setting) and taking a chunk out of one of my nails, leaving it ragged. Without fixing it, he told me to go switch stations, but the station he sent me to was covered in boxes of polish and a clipboard with appointments, and the chair had someone else's personal belongings on it. The woman who I came to next did her very best to fix my nails by filing them (twice more) but they still came out misshapen, uneven, too short, and rather lumpy. Finally, I changed station again for color and showed a new woman my pick. She painted my nails fairly well, although there is some polish on my hands, and the matte top coat I asked for does not cover my entire nail base to tip. To add to this, the color on the swatch looks NOTHING like the color my nails were painted with, I chose a very dark red, and my nails are a much brighter red, and my best friend chose a peachy pink, and they painted hers orange. Bright orange. In addition to all of this, the nails were extremely expensive, and I had gotten my nails done somewhere far nicer for only $5 more a month or so ago. Will not be coming back here and would not recommend to anyone. read more

This place is usually pretty busy, and I haven't noticed that making an appointment helps. The services are very cheap, and they are friendly everytime I have gone in. It's only $10 for a fill and I think they do a great job. They are not open Sundays :( I always get a great pedicure there, they do a sugar scrub with lotion and it doesn't cots extra like at some salons. So I would recommend this place, just give yourself plenty of time because they can be busy and some gals spend a lot of time on your nails (which I think is a plus) Also! I haven't had them try to pressure me into an eyebrow wax like other salons, I hate that. *****Unfortunately I have to take a star off this place because I had my artificial nails taken off and they ripped them off and made me bleed. It hurt so bad!! There was a lot of damage to my nail bed because of all the excessive drilling they do. I will think twice before I go there again. However! I go here every other week to get a pedicure. The girls are all very nice, they have a wide assortment of polish colors, the butt massagers on the chairs rock, and the quality of their work is quite good for $15 (if you want every callous on your foot scraped off, I would suggest going elsewhere and spending more money, but if you are just looking for a quick fix, then this is the place for you). My only complaints are the fact that the salt and lotion scrub can sting a bit if you have newly-shaved legs and some of the girls are a bit too rough with the leg massages (when you are wincing in pain from them pressing too hard on your calves, you know something ain't right...) So beware of these two things. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this place... Oh, and I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to be seen, but then again, I typically try to go during non-peak times so I can avoid the long waits that the other reviewers have mentioned. read more

Not gonna lie, I'd been here before and wasn't impressed. I was reluctant to go back until today. I planned my entire day around going to the nail salon for the first time since I had my baby 9 weeks ago. I desperately needed a few hours out of the house and as carefully as I prepared myself and my baby, she started crying as soon as we got there. Thank GOODNESS for the ladies at this salon! They rocked the stroller for me and entertained my baby until I was done. Not to mention the manicurist did a great job in a small amount of time. i came here with a friend after looking at prices and photos online and i got much less than i expected. although the nail techs were kind, i went in expecting to pay 40$ for an acrylic set appointment i had made for long nails but ended up paying 15$ extra for no good reason. Once my nails were completed, my nails techs boss walked over and told me the set would now cost 55$ instead of 40$ since i got them long. not cool. that's a 15$ difference for average length acrylics. i felt scammed. on top of that, the nails begun to lift at the base within a week. although i wish i could get my 15$ back and better nails, it is what it is but i feel like it's important that i warn future customers that not only are their prices subject to change at will, but the quality of nails is average at best. i do appreciate the kindness and patience of nail techs who had to fix scuffs in the polish. would not recommend coming here. read more

But other than that I really did not feel great comming in here and I was completely shocked at how much I was charged for my pedi. First off I came in here and I was looking to see if I could find where they kept their gel swatches. I couldn't seem to see it anywhere when they told me to pick my color. The girl came to tell me to sit down and I hadn't picked a color yet so I asked her if the ones I was looking at on the wall included the gel ones. She said yes (I don't think she understood) because then she told me to come sit and brought me a book. After I asked if the ones I had in my hand were gel almost all the ladies working there started laughing and saying something gel something gel in Vietnamese. I didn't really appreciate that. I got my basic gel pedicure and then manicure. The girl who did my mani did very well. At the end I was charged drastically more than I expected and when I was given the price breakdown I was shocked that Gel for a pedicure is considered a $20 add on?! Yes I understand gel is more expensive but I have never been charged THAT much for gel. The pedicure cost me more than the manicure, the manicure itself was in my opinion done way better. I got gel for both. High end nail salon price in my opinion this is not a high end spot whatsoever. When I got there the girl literally had to move snacks and drinks out of the way for me to even sit down. Then my shoes that I had put to the side were literally moved into the tiny middle walkway they had in the middle of everything. I literally had to jump onto my chair from the little walking space they have. It's way too cramped in there. Another thing I did not like at all is the fact that the massage chair's remotes are literally taped to the chair itself and you cannot see it sitting in the chair. If they don't want people moving their chairs that's fine tape those options but at least let the customer be able to control their massage. Because of this I wasn't able to even get a chair massage while I was there. Pretty disappointed in all these little things ontop of the ridiculous price for that pedicure. Needless to say I will not be returning although they did do a good job. The place itself is not great, too cramped, I could have done without the laughter after asking an innocent question, and I would have liked to have known price beforehand. The last time we came he had a new lady who was very hurtful. When he complained, nothing changed except he was given a dirty look. It was obvious she was talking about him to the others. Horrible, awful, and painful! I went in to have my previous pink and white acrylic set removed, and have another set in place. First of all, she practically ripped off the original set and many times I pulled away in pain! Ugh. So she put on my next set, and I looked down at my right hand as she finished the pink acrylic and I realize that underneath is speckled and flawed with where she hadn't removed the previous acrylic! It looked awful, and I mean so bad to where I probably could have done a better job myself. I brought it to her attention, and she grabbed my hand and started drilling off the acrylic she had just laid... and then the worst part happened: she drilled down through my acrylic, through my nail, and down into the skin underneath! I screamed and wrenched my hands away, and immediatly asked her to stop. Tears were streaming down my face as I demanded they removed all the nails they had just laid.
