My opinion: came for lunch. The entrees reminded me of trader Joe's frozen Indian entrees. There really wasn't anything special. I believe they were really catering to the American palette and really dumbed the flavors down. The chicken in the Tikka dish was just plain white meat instead of tandoori flavored prior to being added to the sauce. The garlic naan was sweet?? This place is such a scam. I ordered the tikka chicken masala and took it to go. I took out all the pieces of chicken from the sauce and there was literally 7-8 small tiny pieces of chicken and nothing but sauce. For $10 you get 16 ounces of sauce. read more

The food at the Tikka Shack restaurant is amazing! Whether you are a meat eater, a vegetarian or a vegan, there is a delicious entre for you. The Malai Kofta that my wife ordered is a saucy Indian dumpling dish that was so very tasty. The basmati rice that came with those delicious dumplings was moist... cooked to absolute perfection. I enjoyed the Tikka Wrap, also with basmati rice, which wrapped mint, cheese, onions and vegetables in a delicious pastry like bread called "naan." It's as if my tastebuds were instantly elevated to another level. We both enjoyed a glass of cold tea, which was soothing... relaxing... unlike any other. In the midst of our meal, Kinjal stopped by to make sure that everything was to our liking. What a fine lunch we had. Truly fantastic. read more

First time coming to Tikka Shack Indian Grub what an awesome surprise. It was worth the drive from Chandler. The atmosphere is very nice, clean, and it even has great music.:) The Hostess was very helpful and friendly (I think she was the owner)took her time to explain menu. I love Indian food and was really excited to try this place. I ordered an appetizer and a main dish. The main dish came out first and when I questioned why, the server told me it was because it was done first. There was no apology or anything. The food was really bland and had no flavor at all. Oh my goodness, SO GOOD! I did not anticipate that a outdoor mall would house some really good food and let's be honest, "authentic" probably wouldn't be appropriate, but still some very good food. We got a variety, and I don't remember all the specifics, but overall it was very tasty. Two things I would not recommend: the Tikka Masala with chicken was not good. Not even a little - skip it. We also did not love the rice. It's not terrible and a necessity for soaking up sauce, but I wouldn't order a side of it. However, If you're even remotely a fan of lamb - go for it. Food is amazing!!! Food came very quickly! Great atmosphere, right next to the movie theater and splash pad. If you haven't had Indian food before this is a great opportunity to try it. My wife had never tried Indian food a couple of years ago, now she loves it! Many beers on tap, all appear to be local or I think they have some Indian beer in a bottle. This place is terrible. My kids ordered a tikka masala with chicken and it consisted of bite size chicken pieces with brown sauce. It had no spices in the sauce and was so bland. My husband and I shared a vindaloo dish and the chicken was super tender, but the broth was gross. It tasted like chicken broth with vegetables. Again, missing all the spices. Both our naan and garlic naan were cold. We had high hopes for this place. We had a few bites and threw away our dishes. It was that bad! read more

I was so excited to try this place as it smelled amazing and I love Indian food, I also love spice. I ordered the original curry - medium - and samosas. The curry was so hot it was barely edible, there really was no flavor other than hot pepper and it was super watery. The samosas were literally dripping in grease. Most horrible experience ever! Ordered food through Uber on labor day evening, so guessing they were so busy that they packed someone else's left overs as our food. The paneer in tikka masala was sour like rotten. We got wrong dish, they sent us Goat vindaloo curry in place of chicken. There was cooked rice grains in the curry. Every detail was delicious and the price wasn't excessive. The samosas were perfectly crunchy on the outside while soft, moist, and flavorful on the inside, and the dipping sauce was perfect, too! The mango lassi actually has flavor and a great texture. The cheese naan was a hit with the baby. And the butter masala was absolutely on point and I had enough leftover for dinner. This is my favourite grub place ever! The staff is always friendly and cheerful. It's a simple process and the food is amazing. I come from England where Indian cuisine is soooo good and this to me compares to my favourite restaurant back home! Even when I order Uber Eats, they get my order right every time. I ask for Chicken Tikka Masala, light chicken, extra saucy and that's exactly what I get!!! The rice and naan bread is perfect. I order garlic naan every time and out of about 20 or more visits eating here it is always perfect. Except for one time when the naan was a little over cooked and they offered to switch it out before I even said anything! Normally at Indian restaurants, what I order costs about $45, here it is $17 ish. Not bad at all considering the quality of the food! Great new restaurant at the Desert Ridge Mall. Healthy options that are made well. The staff is enthusiastic without interrupting the meal. I love the Chicken Kebabs with basmati rice and a mango salad. Very tasty! I had a small request about a dish the last time that I was here. Management actually called and asked for feedback about the experience which was a reflection of the restaurants desire to be excellent. Highly recommended! read more

My husband and I thought we would try this restaurant. It recently opened at Happy Valley. Sadly, it was a HUGE disappointment for many reasons. Upon entering the location, we thought the surroundings were nice enough. There was only one or two other customers seated in the dining area. And, there were a few others that came in after we arrived. We reviewed the menu and we each ordered something - Lamb Biriyani and Chicken Tikka Masala. My husband's order came about 15 minutes after placing the order. My order did not come. While we were waiting for my order, the waitress delivered food to two other customers who arrived after we did. We waived down the first waitress and she said my food was being worked on. Another 5 minutes or so went by and we waived down the second waitress. Another 5 or so minutes went by, and this time my husband got up and went to the counter and spoke to the supervisor. He was told again the food was being prepared. My husband wouldn't eat his meal until mine arrived, so we were both frustrated. Another 5 or so minutes went by and he waived down yet another waitress. She did go to the counter and picked up my food and delivered it - finally. Sadly, though, the food was not very good. It certainly is not even a good imitation of real Indian food. The Biriyani needed more spices - plus it was 90% rice. My Tikka Masala tasted like a thick tomato soup. The bread was also a frozen version of a flat bread - nothing like real Indian naan. It's just another chain trying to make a buck and putting authentic ethnic food restaurants out of business. So, in a nutshell, the food was not good and the service was terrible. Every employee that was customer facing were very young and didn't really know how to handle a bad situation, even the manager on duty was inadequate. No one offered up anything to compensate for bad service and bad food. They lost two customers today - we will never go back. A business cannot be successful with this kind of business model. The location is fantastic. Very convenient to have an Indian restaurant in desert ridge. We liked the malai kofta, it did not have the red/orange color that I have seen in many other places and the koftas were also soft and taste was also good. The pudina paneer wrap was good, the lamb wrap could use some more spice though. The only thing really lacking was the rice. It was really dry giving an impression that it was taken out from the refrigerator and heated. I am told their biryani also suffers the same fate. read more
