Everything was sooooooooooooo good! Everyone was so nice we had the back room reserved for an event. It was a rainy day so I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato soup it really was the perfect meal for the weather! The chai was my favorite the seasonal drink hot was the best!

I work out in the gray area between Bakersfield and Shafter and there aren't many options for lunch. When Tin Cup Coffee opened on Lerdo Hwy. I thought it was a nice addition to the area considering there isn't much like it nearby. I started coming here years ago after they first opened and found they are so much more than just a coffee shop. They a good breakfast selection and their lunch options were a pleasant surprise. So years later I realized I have never given them a review. Today I called in an order and got the Santa Fe chicken salad which was delish! The only warning I have is that it comes with a spicy chipotle ranch which is definitely a spicy kick. I personally love it but those that are sensitive to spicy may want to change their dressing to one of their other options. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful and the establishment is always super clean. And I always get an iced tea because it tastes fresh everytime! My personal favorite is the peach iced tea. If you like soup they have a daily schedule and some of their soups sell out quickly so put your order in early. I haven't had their soup for awhile but I know their loaded potato and chili always go quickly from past ordering. And can't forget about their coffee selections, hot or iced, always good.

Light relaxing music in the background. Very rustic/ industrial decor. You order at the counter and food is delivered table side. Very Friendly staff and my food came out quickly. I ordered the Cobb salad it was excellent! Freshly made ranch dressing. Generous portions of bacon lardons instead of small bacon bits. Delicious bleu cheese, lightly roasted chicken breast, boiled egg with crunchy fresh lettuce. I'll definitely be back.

I was visiting the town and this time we went inside to eat. It was around noon and it was packed all the tables. But no line to order so we checked at the menu on the wall and choose what we want but at the time we reach the cashier and make our order she informed us that the wall menu it wasn't updated that they remove so many items from the menu and coincidentally was the item we want to ordered. So now they don't have anymore the vegetarian options bagel that it was really good. Also they remove a Monique coffee that I used to buy too. So we need to change our options. And the mango smoothie was a disappointment because it wasn't made with real fruit it was just a syrup with ice. Also when they serve our food they didn't let us know that the drink we have to pick it up they don't deliver to the table and also no napkins.

All I can say is wow!!!! The food is amazing. Fresh , quality ingredients. Price is average. Service is friendly and pretty quick. I ordered ahead and picked up. Ambiance is good. Cute little coffee shop style. Closes by to and caters to working people schedule. If you find yourself in Shafter, go check it out.

Have not spent much time in Shafter, but work does take me there. I was happy to find this gem! This place is huge! It had lots of seating and is a great place to meet fiends for coffee, and breakfast or enjoy some great lunch! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the people working were so nice! The girl who took my order suggest the turkey wrap and suggest adding chipotle aioli it was delicious! Will be back for more coffee and food!

Oh my gosh!!! This place is so cute!!! It's giving I'm in a country movie vibe!!! It was Thursday so they had the special tomato soup. The location itself is super cute but as the food it was okay. The matcha tasted a little off and the tomato soup was ehh, if that makes sense. The service was super fast because I was the only one in there.

I have been to Tin Cup before in the drive-thru, but this weekend I decided to come here for a sit down lunch and explore the menu a little more. Its a short, but pleasant, drive from Bakersfield and really easy to find! The restaurant was fairly large and very well maintained. They have a surprisingly extensive menu for being a "coffee" place! The staff were all absolute sweethearts and were very patient with us when we took a long time to place our order.. bless their hearts for *very patiently* waiting on my indecisive 13 year old and 3 year old to each finally decide what they wanted to eat lol My littlest kiddo was sad to learn that the mac and cheese was discontinued, but she was happy to try the strawberry cronut! (Again, we hadn't been here for food before, but I looked ahead at the menu and mentioned to her that they had mac n cheese lol... my mistake! Moral of this story -- don't mention the mac and cheese to your kids lol.) I have a nut allergy, but I really wanted to try the Berry Salad. The staff assured me that all menu items are made to order so it would be no problem for them to make my salad without nuts! I liked that they were so knowledgeable about the items on the menu and were able to help me ensure I didn't accidently ingest any nuts. The drinks that my kids got were delicious! Mine was not my favorite, but that was my own fault for ordering sugar free AND coconut milk. Don't let this deter you, because all of the other drinks were GLORIOUS lol

This is loaded biscuits and gravy with an extra helping of scrambled eggs. Not even close. Barely any gravy.

Very skimpy on portions. Loaded biscuits and gravy should be swimming with gravy. Loaded is supposed to have biscuit, hash brown, bacon bits and egg. I paid for an extra egg. Did not get the egg or the hash brown. I do not eat the biscuit so you can imagine how crappy breakfast was. Upside down macchiato extra hot. Barely 3/4 full. Was shocked at how light the cup was. Trying to support local business, but the quality has to be worth the extra money.

I drove to Shafter JUST to try this place out, it looks very neat and clean from outside. The first time I tried this tried their matcha which I was not much of a fan as it tasted like plain milk. The second time, I had a bagel with sprouts, avocado and crème cheese and it was pretty good, I would say I'd add bacon next time but it was very yummy. I also tried their chai tea and I fell in love with it. I have not gone back to Starbucks chai ever since, it honestly changed my life . The service was good as well :-) Overall very happy with outcome and breakfast experience!! The only sad part is that they do not open in sundays :/ read more

Shafter is a small farming town. Although there are other places to get lunch but Tin Cup looked interesting. There were only a few choices on the menu but the soup and sandwich was pretty good. With lunch we can get a $1 coffee. What was interesting was the building. It had a corner band stage, meeting room in the back. Restroom was very nice. It really looked like originally build for some other purpose. read more

I wanted to love this place so bad. The drinks & food are REALLY good! And the space is nice and comfortable. What makes me hesitant to come here again is the staff and customer service. The first time a burrito was made wrong and no one offered to remake it. To find out it was because they ran out of ingredients but instead of asking if a substitution was fine, they made it just without that ingredient even though I had paid extra to even add that meat to the burrito in the first place. They didn't reimburse me even when I asked. I contacted them via their "contact us" on their website and I never got a response. The second time they had made my first drink and my food but I was waiting on a second drink. I ended up waiting over 10 minutes because the baristas prioritized another staff members order. There was no one else in the shop... I get it. It's fine. Today we pulled up to the drive through (that closed at 2pm), we got there at 1:20. There was an automated message telling us the place was closed. We parked & went inside. No one greeted us. We waited by the cash wrap for a few minutes. A barista was making a drink in front of us but didn't look up. Another barista was using the tablet and was right in front of us but never once said hi or that someone would be with us. Just ignored us. Finally another barista came up and said "hi, do we need an order taken?" Because she saw we weren't being helped. I understand when it's busy but the last 2 times it was dead. I would rather support local businesses but it sucks when they have bad customer service. read more

If I could give this place a 20/10 I would, if I could give them a 50/10 I would. IF I COULD GIVE THEM THEM A 100000/10 I WOULD. This place is absolutely the best coffee shop I've ever been to. The service is outstanding, the staff is amazing, the coffee most importantly, is the best I've ever had. Although their hours are a bit confusing, this place is great. Highly Highly recommend!! read more

What a surprising find! We had a quick stop to make in Shafter when we found this gem of a coffee shop. They have great sandwiches and amazing pastries. We didn't get a chance to try and of the hot drinks. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere is awesome. What a great place! We shared a panini and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were outstanding. Clerk at Floyd's Shafter recommended Tin Cup for a nice meal. Ordered biscuits and gravy was told they were out. So lady behind the counter recommended the teriyaki bowl which is the special for Monday. Let me tell you there is nothing special about it. Rice is placed in bowl with a scoop very mushy. Very little chicken or vegetables for 10.95. I do not recommend these restaurant. read more

The food and drinks are really good, but the wait time in the drive thru takes forever. Even if it's just a drink. If there's more than 2 cars in the drive thru I just keep driving by. Shouldn't take over 5 minutes for a drink when I'm the only person in the drive thru. read more

The food is good, the employees are friendly but the service time absolutely sucks. I placed a mobile order arrive a bit early so I understand I need to wait. Someone came to order in after me there was no one else in the dining area or ordering and somehow I received my order after those that had just ordered. This is not the only time I've had an issue with service time another instance I went through drive thru and waited a whole 30 min before my order was ready being the only car in drive thru.I avoid coming here before work for a cup of coffee even though it's my favorite because I will also be late as I can't come in earlier because their closed and I prefer to stop and get it somewhere else within 5 mins read more

Got an acai bowl and it was one of the best I've ever had! The bathrooms are super nice and clean. The entire place is HUGE. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking (can also fit big RVs). Would definitely recommend stopping here. read more

It's a Friday, about 830 am, and you decided to see a judge at 1030 to get some leniency on your ticket. Yes, I'm slightly psychic. I suggest while you have some time to kill that you go here. 2nd time: Service continues to be awesome! Ordered the Pesto Change-O Caprese Panini Oh my... Yumm! Sourdough bread, mozzarella, pesto, tomato, spinach. Deliciously put together, bread perfectly toasted, mozzarella was melted to perfection. I know, I know, I'm using "perfect" too much. But it really is just absolutely delicious! Drinks and food are AMAZING, but expensive. I've loved everything I've ever ordered from here. However, the service is SLOWWWWWW. I did an online order for the first time because of this and it was an extra 30 mins after the scheduled time. They did give me a free drink for the long wait, but if you don't have time to wait I wouldn't order food. The slow service is why I only come here every so often. read more

First let me say that I really like this place and the family that own it. The menu is unique and the drinks are delicious BUT the desserts are yummy! The customer service is awesome. I have often sat inside on a friday and completed my work. Free WIFI. The inside has the cutest barn decor. I usually do drive thru and there is usually a 10 minute wait. The online ordering process is working but being updated to include drinks. I recommend the lemon bars which usually sell out. For breakfast I like the Rise and Dine for breakfast and the pesto caprese panini for lunch. Please remember they close early 5pm. read more

This place is a gem hiding in the ...I had the most delicious Caesar Salad I have ever had in my life here--fresh, good quality cheese, wonderful dressing...my mouth is watering now thinking about it. And I'm not even a "salad person". Likewise, the coffee was superb. If you go here, you will never go to Starbs again. I took off one star because the server was inattentive and got our order wrong. Also, the vibe doesn't exactly feel welcoming for ppl of color. read more

First impression was really good. Kind of a hipster vibe. Decor was really nice and varied seating options. Only gave four stars because I ordered a low carb option of one of their meals by not ordering bread, and most places will give you a little extra of the filler in the sandwich, but they did not. Not a huge offense, but it would be nice if they made it worth your while when you go that route. Food was tasty, hot and was brought out promptly. Coffee was good, medium roast and hot. I would recommend this place, especially since it is such a small town, having a nice option like this was cool. read more

Shafter is stepping it up. It is great to see local inspiring businesses being created ! Tin cup is a great place to escape life for a bit and enjoy a cup of coffee alone or with a friend or a loved one . Also great for a quick break away from the office . My wife like her iced chai latte, they changed the receipe but the barista was still able to make it the old way for her. Our drinks came out quick and the customer service here was amazing. She got her mom the jalapenos chicken pop and they both like that.

I even checked to make sure that the balance would carry. In the end and with a bill less than $15, I had to explain to both her, and a man I'll assume was Pappy, what "Balance Will Carry" means. I felt silly arguing over a few dollars, but I felt that it was a misrepresentation to their patrons and disservice to those that use Pricetrader and other similar websites. In the end they issued the balance on a new g/c. But, I do not think I will be back. If I really crave their Krazy Krunchy Freedom toast I'll go to the real Pappy's on Rosedale Hwy or maybe head to the Red Wagon for gigantic pancakes and awesome service.

He had a tattoo near the corner of his eye and was wearing a jersey. It really disturbed me about how he seemed to be harassing the baristas. He told one of them "your tummy is sticking out again," when she said "it's because I just ate," he said "no it's always sticking out." He them proceeded to complain to them about another employee who "decided to get knocked up right when things were getting busy," and said some other things about maternity leave. The most apalling thing was he then asked the barista "if you're pregnant and found out your son was gonna be retarded, would you do the un-Catholic thing?" She tried to brush him off by saying "it would be too late," to which he made a joke about using a "coat hanger." Truly the most apalling thing I've ever witnessed at any establishment. I never leave reviews at all, but I had to report this because it seems like this guy involved with management is bullying and harassing the employees. And this non-profit works with foster youth?! Edit: Thanks Randy for the follow up message, I really appreciate it and agree everyone deserves a chance to learn and grow from mistakes. I overheard one lady telling someone how great the food was and asking what they'd ordered. I ordered the chilaquiles but they forgot to ask me how I wanted my eggs cooked so after I told them I had to wait about 8 minutes for my food. After comparing several review sites, we chose this spot because it was conveniently located near the freeway and had a great selection of coffee and baked goods. I'm glad we did because it ended up being an excellent stop. Parking was easy, with plenty of open spaces right in front of the bakery. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly staff. Most of the employees primarily spoke Spanish, which is pretty common for an authentic Mexican bakery. Thankfully my girlfriend speaks Spanish, which made ordering easier, though everyone was still welcoming and helpful. The layout is nice. There's a small dining area on one side, while the other side features the coffee counter, a small selection of Mexican grocery items, and display cases packed with fresh pastries and breads. The selection is impressive. They had conchas, empanadas, croissants, yoyos, polvorones, muffins, churros, cinnamon rolls, pineapple cakes, Mexican donuts, vanilla and pineapple pastries, niño envuelto, cannoli-style pastries, and many other traditional baked goods. I ordered the apple empanada, which was excellent, along with another pastry that my girlfriend explained was topped with a cream cheese and butter mixture covered in sugar. It was incredibly sweet, but absolutely delicious. For drinks, I ordered the large Carlos V iced coffee, and my girlfriend ordered the Duvalín coffee, which is inspired by the popular Mexican candy. We both really enjoyed our drinks. One thing I thought was especially nice is that the specialty coffees come with a small conchita on top, making them an even better value. At around $7.95 for a large, it's a great deal considering you're getting both a specialty coffee and fresh bread. Their coffee menu is extensive. Beyond their specialty drinks, they also offer lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, mochas, macchiatos, espresso, frappes, hot chocolate, iced hot chocolate, teas, lemonades, aguas frescas, and plenty of flavored syrups like vanilla, hazelnut, brown sugar, cinnamon, caramel, coconut, white chocolate, and chocolate. I also used the restroom during our visit, and it was spotless. It was so clean that I actually went back and told my girlfriend she should use it before we got back on the road because it was one of the cleanest public restrooms we'd come across that day. Overall, this was a fantastic stop. Easy parking, friendly service, clean facilities, excellent coffee, and an outstanding selection of authentic Mexican pastries. I would absolutely stop here again anytime I'm passing through Bakersfield and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Mexican bakery and coffee shop.
