I used to come to Tin Fu all the time before, but haven't been here since they changed ownership. The inside looks way better than it did, more modern and clean looking! Good menu, they still have lunch specials. Thats what my coworker and I ordered was from the lunch specials. The portions are smaller than before but food is good, came out really hot. I ordered broccoli in oyster sauce and chow mein, was salty but i like salty. Broccoli was nice and crunchy. The eggrolls were not good had a strong interesting flavor and mushy inside, and the hot and sour soup came lukewarm but flavor was good. Our server was nice and food came fast.

Move over panda express forget about trying to get scoops of pre made Chinese food of a steam table. This Chinese restaurant is a small hole in the wall in a strip mall near the CSU Cal State eastbay campus. I've been trying to gate. Keep this place from many of my friends in school just so that the place does not get bombarded unfortunately I took a few of my friends here for lunch one day and the word is out. This small yet mighty mom and Pop shop has a fantastic menu with an extremely reasonable price. All their food is made Fresh to order, and you could definitely taste the breath of the wok ( wok hay) and all dishes. One of my favorite things they make there is their fried rice with Mongolian tofu. Definitely extremely reasonable price for delicious Fresh cook food. This place has a lot of business for takeout and dine in overall definitely would recommend if you're in a mood for American style Chinese food. This is my hole in the wall Chinese place and is a hidden gem . Come try the sweet sour pork as well is delicious

Not sure what was up with their phones, but in our most recent experience here, we were trying to phone in an order for delivery, but the line was either busy, or wouldn't connect. We tried many times bc we were desperate for some wonton soup. Eventually they picked up, but said they didn't have a driver for delivery, so we had to pick it up ourselves. We ordered wor wonton soup, fish w/ black bean sauce, and walnut prawns. Sadly we weren't impressed with any of the dishes. The soup was just ok. The fish was mushy in contrast with the large crunchy vegetables. The walnut prawn batter was heavily breaded and soggy.

This is our regular local chinese food spot. Tin fu is always consistent with the food. I love that have thai tea also. Yen is always the sweetest when we go in. We ordered walnut shrimp, sweet & sour pork, beef chow fun, potstickers, salt & pepper spareribs. Everything was delicious.

Tin Fu always does a great job with their party trays, though they prefer that you pay in advance. They prepare it fast & it's yummy! Can't go wrong with their fried rice & chow mein.

Fresh piping hot dishes and fair prices, what more can you ask for? My family used to own a Chinese restaurant so my standards are set very high. And this place definitely delivered and brought back some nostalgia!!! We ordered the dinner special with fried rice and 2 items - mix vegetable with tofu and general chicken. Their general chicken is to die for! Perfectly fried and coated in a sweet chili sauce. The tofu vegetables dish was very good too. We also got their bbq pork chow fun. The rice noodles are the thin kind compared to other places which is what I prefer! The only thing I would say was that there weren't that many pieces of pork and it's on the greasy side. The wok hei was definitely there! Server was very nice and checked on us during our meal. Will definitely be back soon to try other things on the menu.

Haven't dined in yet, but smaller restaurant. Seating space seems clean and tables arranged well for group gatherings or individual. Wonton noodle soup is the go-to call to order take out usual. Not overly seasoned plus well portioned for the price.

I FINALLY found a Chinese food spot by my house that I like after a year and a half of moving to Hayward!!! The customer service is so friendly, my stomach didn't hurt, and I wasn't disgusted when I took a bit of my food!! I'm normally a chow mein girl butI had a craving for pork fried rice with Hunan chicken and orange chicken. they did not disappoint

What happened to online delivery of Tin Fu Chinese Food? They used to be in the major apps but not there anymore. However I see they have some other kind of delivery service that is online. Anyone care to elaborate on this please?

The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.

Their gindo piguot (sweet and sour short rib I think) really stood out and we ended up ordering 2 of them. FAMILY EVENTS When I…read morego to eat at Chef's Experience China most of the time the occasion is for family gatherings. The year 2024 was the prime example. In February I ate for reception after a family friend's funeral. In June relatives and friends ate here after my nephew's high school graduation. Later that year in September I came here to celebrate my dad's birthday. There's something about this place that attracts family gatherings. Is it the food? The food here tasty and filling. Could it be the ambiance? The Chef's Experience China Bistro is a small restaurant. There are three dining areas. There is one at the side that is used for a banquet, which is the same space that was used for my dad's birthday party. In the middle there is a general dining area. At the back is a small section that could be used for a party - the same area that was used for my nephew's high school graduation celebration. I think what makes this place attractive is the bar when you enter the restaurant. How's the food? I like the stuffed eggplant, which is similar to eggplant parmesan. What I like about the orange chicken is the sauce is served on the side preserving the crispy breading. The sautéed vegetables aren't oily. Even though the menu doesn't seem overwhelming with items there are variety of items served at Chef's Experience China Bistro that you don't see at other Chinese restaurants. Since I mentioned about the bar I've order beverage such as Old Fashioned, Mint Julep, and Shirley Temple. We would order this every time we come back. Seafood fried rice had a good amount of mixed seafood and NO PEAS! Yaaaaay! Lol Sweet and sour chicken - surprisingly, this is the dish that stood out the most. The chicken tasted fresh and was juicy. In a lot of other places the chicken is more solid and dry. Not this dish. This one was very good!

We didn't enjoy them quite the same at the first time. To resolved the issue, this time I ordered two different types of Chicken Wings. Did we solve the problem? Maybe? Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (4) - While the wings were excellent, we felt that overall, the dish was too salty. Deep Fried Chicken Wings (5) - Once again, excellent wings. Without the add-on Salt, Peppers and Garlic, these were more to our liking, though some Garlic would have been nice. Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce - (5) - I grew up eating fresh fish from live tanks in Chinese Restaurants. They were either cooked with Black Bean Sauce or Ginger & Scallion. Post COVID, many restaurants have done away with their live tanks. Frozen fillets will never taste or feel like freshly dispatched fish, but these were pretty decent. Assorted Seafood Chow Fun (5) - Fish, Calamari and Shrimp. Used to be a time where you could expect a scallop or two, but those days are mostly gone. While this restaurant used to have dine-in service, it appears to be take-out only now. Service was relatively fast and efficient. The food is solid. We'll definitely be back.

The chicken slices are well-marinated and smooth, and the bean sprouts provide a fresh crunch that balances out the dish nicely.
