We went to Tin Tin Buffet - exactly as expected. No surprises. I ate a full plate of green beans and a full plate of plantains. Yum yum in my tum. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was as expected!!

TLDR: the Chinese buffet of your dreams. Everyone has had the classic Chinese buffet experience of American Chinese classics plus slightly weird western/Italian food with classic buffet decor. Yeah this is it. Tin tin is its own slice of history and I'm sure in the next ten years this spot will be torn down for a new apartment complex but until then enjoy this relic of the past.

This felt kind of in the middle of nowhere so location isn't great, but we went for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't bad. The price was $16.95/person which isn't as cheap as it used to be, but it wasn't terrible. If it was $2 cheaper, I might have actually given it 4 stars. There were 4 islands set up, so there was a fair variety of food. We were happy to see that they had seafood for lunch and that there were a good amount of customers, which ended up meaning that the food got turned over at least once per dish while we were there. While it didn't look great at first, the quality of some of the items actually was pretty good. Dumplings - These are great - the skin is nice and thin and the meat is large and chunky. The skin is almost a bit chewy and crispy and has a really good texture. Crab Rangoons - I didn't actually eat one of these, but we get takeout from here a lot and these are pretty good. Nice and crispy with a good ratio of filling. Cajun Seafood - This was surprisingly very good. I had shrimp, crawfish, and mussels from here. Halfway through our meal, they refilled this dish and the shrimp and mussels that they added were huge. It didn't taste off at all which is a fear at buffets, and it was actually quite nice. Shrimp (cold, boiled) - This also got refilled halfway through our meal. The meat was firm and flavored nicely with lemon. I love cold shrimp so this was a nice addition to the buffet. Shrimp (stir fried) - These were peeled and in a clear sauce. They weren't the most amazing, but it was nice to have another type of shrimp to choose from. Black Bean Clams - These were amazing. They were also refilled halfway through our meal and I ate a LOT of them. They had a nice blend of black bean and spice, and the clams themselves were nice and sweet. Sesame Balls - These might not be homemade, but they tasted just as good as a dim sum place, and they weren't huge so they didn't fill us up too much. Salt and Pepper Shrimp - These were fried nicely so they weren't too greasy but they were fried enough that you could eat the shell with the meat since it was nice and crispy. Good flavor. All in all, if we had a car, we'd definitely be back, and if it were a tad bit cheaper, I'd give it 4 stars. Still, it was a solid buffet for an area that doesn't have a lot of cheap Chinese buffet options. We actually walked about 40 minutes each way to get here and we have no regrets.

Back then, they were a normal-style restaurant (similar system to Panda Express). After that first time, I quickly became a repeat customer because of their catfish, pork soup, and the crispy pork. Just those three were sufficient and then several months later, they became a buffet-style restaurant. I was elated. They experimented with other dishes but the crispy pork remained my favorite. No matter what dish they make, all of them were infused with strong flavors and mouth-watering aroma. It is truly a tragedy that this restaurant closed. Service/wait-time/cleanliness (1.5/2): The people here were incredibly courteous and kind whenever they served us. Wait-time can be rather long ever since they converted to a buffet-style but somehow they still manage to keep the restaurant clean and well-kept. Price (1/1): Even back when they were NOT a buffet, their price were very reasonable for the amount of food they give. That positive is multiplied so many times once they transitioned to buffet-style.

A hidden gem from my perspective. It's nothing fancy, sometimes a little hard to communicate with the cashier but they are great people and have great food. The Food~ The spicy sausage is juicy and rich with a bit of a kick. The garlic and regular Picanha meat are also soft and tender. The crusty skin with the garlic and salt bits mends well with the meat. Paired together with the jasmine butter rice neutralizes the saltiness and pulls you back for more. The oxtail and soup is also very good. The warm soup with the tender oxtail paired again with the rice is the perfect combo. There wasn't a lot of vegetable options but I'm not complaining :) The Logistics~ There is plenty of parking on the street and also a public parking lot near Blanchard. A party of 4 is considered large for this place and you'll end up taking all the seats. Don't like sticking around too long and the seating area is pretty limited and not the best for private conversations.

Even though we were there by 6pm and put names down for a table the wait was like 45 minutes! Clearly they are very popular and for good reason - it's an ayce buffet with hot pot! So to pass the time, we went next door to Petco and wandered around looking at the animals, fish in aquariums and birds/ parrots. We were seated in a corner table in the back and it was completely packed - it's quite a large space and looks recently renovated good lighting and modern decor. The buffet itself is huge quite extensive with all kinds of veggies, greens, starchy vegetables, tofu, fish cakes, imitation crab, noodles, and also a sauce bar with a very large variety of sauces. I filled my plate up and got a couple bowls of sauces. I got the kimchi broth while the hubs got the pork bone broth. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! I ordered the chicken off the menu which was only $3 and the price of the buffet per person was $25 which is not bad at all for all the food there is. Oh and there is also a soft serve station with cones and vanilla and matcha flavors - hubs got a cone each! I tried the vanilla one it was great!! Best part there is free parking as it's a shopping complex. It was a bit tricky today as there a mountains of snow covering spaces, but we were able to find a spot! Overall a really great experience!! Will definitely be back!! Already looking forward to it!

The price has gone up to $24/person before tax and tip since before the pandemic but it's still a solid spot. The only downside is the wait especially during the colder months. I am not sure if it's easier to go with 2 or larger group since there was no wait for our large group of 10 back in September during prime lunch hour. Then 30 minute wait at 2pm on a Sunday. I always go for adding an egg. I enjoy the kimchi broth and have tried a few of the other ones. They also have an extensive sauce bar so you can really customize it to your liking. Their house made combos are also super tasty. The perfect way to end flavorful hot pot is with their soft serve ice cream flavor. To be honest for a better overall experience rather than overstuffing I would say Qiao Lin is best with a larger group of 6 to try more and options.

We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio where the steady cool breeze refreshed us. The small appetizer plate with falafel and hummus was my favorite part of the meal. The falafel were flat and oblong, crispy and flavorful. I appreciated the texture of the hummus and babaghanoush (hearty and chunky, rather than smooth). The lamb adana and chicken Adana were delicious as well, complemented with pickled purple cabbage, red and white rice, and roasted green chili pepper (caution--spicy even if you remove the seeds!). Generous portions! We shared three entrees among 4 of us, along with two small appetizers and had two take home containers!

Love love love this place…read more First night in Brookline and walking to Whole Foods for supplies, we saw two big families leaving here looking happy and sated and rubbing their tummies; so after our shopping we came for dinner right at dusk, and immediately sat outside. Our server Bahar was so kind and helpful: I have a dairy allergy and really wanted to try the Ali Nazik, but the lamb marinade has dairy, we we got the Sultan's Delight (same smoky eggplant puree with baked lamb). We also ordered Chicken Adana, and the small appetizer with falafel and hummous; all to share for 3 of us. Our fourth got the Iskender Kabob for himself. Bahar first brought a bean salad (so fresh and light) and bread (yum). Then the appetizer: the falafel was flat (not spherical) which meant the surface area of crunchiness increased--so delicious; and the hummous was much grainier than I've had, which gave it such a lovely texture. Bahar came out with the Sultan's Delight, and rushed back apologetic that the chef used dairy today, so we ordered a second appetizer with babaganoush and falafel (we really needed more falafel once we got a taste)--the babaganoush was, like the hummous, grainier in texture than we were used to and so pleasing to eat. If it weren't for my dairy allergy, we might never had ordered the chicken adana kebab, which was so flavorful and lovely: the orange rice was so nutty and made my mouth happy. We realized that we wanted to try the Lamb Adana Kebab, which had such a phenomenal flavor palate with a nice spicy kick. The peppers that came with the entrees were like sneaky super hot shishito peppers in flavor. Bahar took such lovely care of us, we had an amazing meal.

It's a popular choice for group dinners, especially with friends or classmates looking for a filling, social meal. The space is modern and energetic, with individual burners built into each table for a more personal hot pot experience. It gets busy during dinner hours and weekends, but the atmosphere adds to the fun, communal feel. Service is generally attentive, with staff bringing out orders steadily and checking in to swap broths or refill items as needed. The menu offers a good variety of thinly sliced beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and classic hot pot additions like fish balls, tofu, mushrooms, and leafy greens. The meat quality is solid for AYCE, and portions come out quickly enough to keep the meal moving. Broth options range from lighter house broths to spicier selections, letting you customize the experience to your preference. While it may not be the most premium hot pot in the area, the value is strong for the price point, and the unlimited format makes it easy to try a bit of everything. Overall, Blue Sakura is a reliable AYCE hot pot destination in Allston, great for casual group outings, celebrations, or whenever you're craving a big, comforting meal.
