Super happy that Tina's Nails is in El Segundo. We needed a good nail spot. Very clean, friendly and cozy place. TINA IS THE BEST for acrylic. She does a great job everytime. My nails are very natural looking, thin, they never ever lift and they don't chip. I went somewhere else for a quick fill because I could not make in to see Tina, and was really disappointed. Normally, I wouldn't write a review, especially not a bad one, but, I am SO disappointed, I had to.... I called and made an appointment, showed up at my scheduled time, and still sat and waited for an HOUR before they started on me. I was asked which pedicure I wanted, so opted for the pricy $37 one... what a waste. She barely did anything more than a regular pedicure other than slab some sugar scrub on my leg just to then wash it off. No massage as mentioned on the card... and when I got home, noticed they had taken off skin while removing callouses to the point of bleeding. As if that is not bad enough... I was talked into the gel manicure because it would last longer than a regular one and wouldn't chip. So... I agreed. Less than a week later and 2 have already peeled completely off. I am HIGHLY disappointed, and it wasn't cheap for this horrible service.... Went in for a mani-pedi... left with a $73 bill, nicked foot, and a manicure that is useless after only 5 days. read more

I really like this place. It's quiet and relaxing and the massage chairs are pretty nice and they flip you back at the end into a really comfy position for your 5 minute massage! Bonus! Been 3 or 4 times now and the results are always really good. Last time I didn't like the color (I picked it!) so they let me pick another one and did a 3rd coat over it. I went in today to get my acrylics done for New Year's Eve. They totally butcher my nails it seem like a child had done them. The acrylic was all over my cuticle, the nails were different size. Once it came time for them to color the nails they wanted me to forcefully get gel to charge me more, I decline and they applied the coat on very chunky, uneven I could have done a better job on my left hand. Once it came time to pay the owner had a bad attitude she was beyond rude and she only took 5 dollars off knowing how horrible my nails looked. Thankfully they were able to fix them at nail garden. My nails did turn out good however the service was not very good. I'm not sure why but for some reason they were trying to rush me. There was nobody waiting but they seemed like they wanted to get me out. The lady doing my nails was very sweet but the lady who worked on my toenails was rude. I've been to many different nail salons but never have I been treated like this. The lady who was about to do my toenails told me that the color I picked was ugly. She made me take it back and pick a new one. When she did my first foot she placed it down and somehow one nail got messed up. She then yelled at me. I was not only very angry but disgusted that she treated me or any of her customers like that. At most nail salons they tell you that if a nail gets messed up that they will fix it for you for free. Here they told me that if I mess a nail up they will charge me. Overall this was an awful experience that made me and the other customers very uncomfortable. The only reason I'm not giving them one star is because the nails did turn out nice and the price was reasonable. But they need to work on their customer service. Up to one and one-half hour wait times despite scheduled appointments and higher prices than those posted. This is my third visit and I won't be back because of this and the following: 1) pedicure was substandard workmanship (polish peeled within 5 days with air bubbles) despite open toe sandals; 2) despite waiting one and one-half hours and receiving a promise from Tina that "it would be better next time," I waited a full hour this time, 3) charged $30 for an acrylic fill and gel, despite posted prices of $20 even after the wait. Tina is in need of either a competent receptionist to assist with professional scheduling or simply needs to hire more technicians to manage the demand placed on the salon (perhaps based on positive yelp reviews). Why did I give this salon 3 chances? i try to give people the benefit of the doubt and and sympathize with difficulties of running a small business. I went there today it was my first time I was hopping to find a professional place to get my manicure and pedicure done finally in Town but the lady who I got didn't know how to do a professional work, I think she was learning, to bad I got her when I'm paying a full price anyway! She didn't know how to file nails, paint and hurt my toes with the spatula. The owner was teaching her in front of me speaking in their own language and this lady got mad at me I guess because I told the owner she didn't file the side of my nails. When I first walked into this nail salon I felt like I was at a true expensive spa. It wasn't like the corporate type where you are just another dollar coming in. Tina's is beautiful I felt like I was at my house, they are so humble and sweet and actually care what you say and go above and beyond to make sure the nails come out the way you want. They are all about fine detail. The place is super clean always great temperature inside and the pedicure chairs are so comfortable you could pretty much fall asleep in them. Made an appointment and they sat me down right away for a pedicure but left me waiting for 20 minutes with my feet in the water before they came and started doing the pedicure. The process took 45 minutes and it was one of the worst pedicures I have ever had. My nails are all uneven and cut down as short as possible (which is quite uncomfortable) and so is the polish, they almost look worse than they did before I went in. Definitely should have saved my $20 for a place that would have done a much better job. read more

I think I've found my new spot. This place doesn't have the fancy built in spa chairs but they still have the massaging chair. I don't think it's the cheapest spot either. BUT they are real friendly and do a good job. EVERY salon I've been to, you can clearly tell they are talking/gossiping about you or other clients. They never talk to you except each other. I was glad they were able to fit me in and the lady seemed nice on the phone but it all changed when I got there and the nightmare begins. She asked me what I wanted and I wanted acrylics and she said "the line?". I said what? And then she snapped at me. Oh well, I wasn't expecting service I just wanted to get my nails done. Then she started working on my nails w/o talking over with me what I wanted. I asked if she had this color and she seemed annoyed and pointed to the nail polish w/o looking at me. I told her the shape I wanted and again no response. Then she put the tip on and I told her the shape I wanted. This was when apparently I really pissed her off. She looked me straight in the eye and said in her stern voice said: "I AM NOT DONE YET!!" dun dun dunnnn!!! *triggered** Yeah apparently I offended her. I told her: "I know you are not done but I just want to let you know" (since we haven't talked about how we were going to do my nails AT ALL). She was rough on my nails and was basically manhandling my hands. I could tell she was just not feeling today and probably fed up with life in general. After she put the tips on she was cutting and chomping away. You can just feel it when someone is not taking their time and just wants to get you out the door. I could tell this was going to be a long manicure. I wanted to leave but I didn't want to be rude (really bad move on not leaving earlier, keep on reading to find out why). Since she ignored my communication earlier, I wanted to tell her that I liked my nails to be a certain shape. I knew she was probably going to take it the wrong way so I decided to ask her: "may I check the nail shape now?" You know like a civilized person. I mean after all what is she going to do...kick me out? Yeah right. And that is EXACTLY what she did! She put down her tools, looked up at me and finally made eye contact w/ me for the first time and said "You know what? MAYBE I DON'T WANT TO DO YOUR NAILS!!! YOU ARE THE RUDEST CUSTOMER I'VE EVER HAD!!! YOU ARE RUDE. YOU ARE SO RUDE! YOU ARE SO WORRIED. You ARE SO SO VERY RUDE!" She was like a broken record player at this point b/c all she said was "you are so rude" x 100. I was surprised and now I regretted not walking out earlier when I had the chance. I was glad though that I don't have to sit in uncomfortable silence where she expects you to shut up, not have any opinions on how you want YOUR nails to look like and take it like a good girl. I got up to leave but was stopped by her. She demanded that I let her cut off the fake tips that she had earlier put on. Fair enough, I mean she already was yelling and me and gave me the boot so cutting the tips off was not too much of an overreaction at this point. I don't know if I should be sad, angered, relief, or happy she kicked me out b/c now I don't have to pay for a service that made me feel small and unworthy. I don't know if I was being a bitch but if I was then my bitch level is so high that all it took was 2 questions to completely trigger a person. Where's my bitch card at? lol. Anyways I have never been blamed and yelled at for being rude when the other person was rude. End of story time. Thanks for reading up to here.
