I would recommend this place if you go as a group of more than 4 people. I'd also recommend you come here in the evening/night. After 5PM, no kids allowed. The unlimited games can't be used for kids, so parents keep that in mind. It was pretty pricey for the both of us. I spent nearly $70 and the 2 courses lasted us less than an hour and that was because I was trying to go slow. We were the only ones there, too. If you want to check out any of the board games, they will need your ID. It will be returned to you once you return it. If you go w/ your child, bring at least 2-3 other kids so they can experience the fun. W/ just me, Gavin and I were bored instantly. Service can be improved. Finally stopped by to see what the buzz is all about! My friends and I planned to drink, eat, and play some mini golf! We parked in the free parking garage across the street from target. Free parking, always a plus. First impression, it's really not that big of a place. Finding a table downstairs was a challenge. We went on a Saturday evening so it was busy. For drinks, they have a nice selection of local brews on tap for a decent price point. My friends also enjoyed their mixed drinks. For food, I appreciate all of the vegetarian options! My boyfriend and I ordered the Mexican chopped salad and pub pretzels to share. The salad was sooo good we topped it with potato soyrizo. It was perfectly seasoned. I could eat that salad everyday! The pretzels were yummy but nothing special. Really want to go back and try the tacos. There was about a 45 min wait for mini golf so I recommend signing up before you get your drinks and food. Had such an amazing time! We came here as a group of 6 friends as something fun to do in the rain. We were blown away by the food options! Usually these kind of places food and drinks are secondary but the food was awesome! We had 2 vegan friends and they have many options for them as well as gluten free and dairy free. So happy that there is a fun place to hang out in downtown Sunnyvale. My husband and I came on a Friday afternoon. Easy to check in and purchase your game. We opted for the mini golf but will try to the 1-2 golf next time. There's about 10 holes to try. Fun but I can see it being a wait when its busy or there are many large groups. I've been to the Tipsy Putt in Emeryville and wasn't impressed with their courses, but I was surprised to have so much more fun at the Sunnyvale location! It was a pretty busy day on the night we went, so we ended up waiting about an hour to play mini golf, but there was plenty of things to do around to kill time, including the table golf courses. The table golf was surprisingly really fun! I also enjoyed the board games. Food wasn't bad. The cheetos in the hot cheeto elote bowl were kind of stale, but the quesabirria was good. For food, I ordered the two taco combo which was decently priced and came with two tacos, a gargantuan amount of chips (I'd say enough to feed two), and a fountain soda. As a Diet Coke fanatic, I chugged my drink and requested a refill only to find out that refills aren't honored here. Perhaps I'll try practicing delayed gratification to avoid this issue in the future. Anyways, the food was just okay. I will say the chicken tikka taco was delicious. The morsels of chicken that sat atop the plush naan shell were incredibly buttery and toothsome. But, the portions leave something to be desired. I know if you order a taco a la carte, it comes just shy of $5. Robbery, if you ask me. The actual course was pretty underwhelming with the only obstacles being kegs and wooden planks, but with a smaller interior, I'm not sure if you can expect much. My husband and I ordered nachos (added carnitas), Mexican salad (added chicken) and 2 tacos (one barbacoa and one carnitas). All the proteins here were cooked perfectly and quite flavorful. No complaints on the tacos. The nachos were also tasty but I hated the chips they used. The salad had the perfect amount of dressing, the chicken was good but the pumpkin seeds and chunks of CUBED cheese was unnecessary. At first I thought it was cubed jicama but after the first bite I was so confused why there was cubed cheese in my salad. Out of the three proteins we had, our favorite was the carnitas. The mini golf space area was very small so we finished the game within 30 minutes. But I guess pricing was not too bad, only $15 per person for one round of golfing. Regarding service, the guy checking our IDs in the front and the bartenders were not friendly. Overall, I don't think I would return here for another date night. The playing area is just too small. You can borrow some of their board games in exchange for your I.D so they get it back. They have so many card games and board games like uno, battleship, connect 4, etc. It can be difficult to find seating especially if it's crowded but they have table seating at the side, bar seating, booth seating, seating upstairs and even outdoor seating. A great (first) date spot! Vibes were great. They played 90s music. Bathrooms were okay, not the cleanest. Also food was average. I got the loaded nachos, pretzels, and elote corn with hot cheetos. I probably could've survived without any of their bar food. The Groupon I purchased came with two free drinks which included any alcoholic beverage. We got two cocktails and they were sweet and strong. My favorite was the table top golf, I don't remember the exact name for it. Also you could play this first before the mini golf to save on time. It goes by a lot quicker. The mini golf part goes slow if there's big groups ahead of you. It spells out "tipsy putt" and the course can be a little boring. The last course collects the ball. They gave out a scoresheet and the pencils were surprisingly sharp. I know it seems silly but these things matter. Having a sharp pencil is great. There's security that checks i.d after 6pm but they don't check purses. The staff was also really friendly! I tied with my bf on the tabletop games and they let me get two more golf balls to settle the score. Their merch is actually really cute and if I played golf, would have totally purchased a few. It's in downtown Sunnyvale so parking can be difficult. Thankfully there's a parking garage right across the target and just across from tipsy putt so you don't have to worry, especially about parallel parking. Had the chance to experience this new Sunnyvale venue with a friend at 6 pm on a Friday night! Since a few days past their grand opening, the place is clean, well lit, and filled with people. The moment you walk in, either the security guard or front desk will check your ID because it's 21+ after 6 pm. Before putting, my friend and I decided to grab dinner first. The space is well furnished with bar seating, from low tables to high tables, and tables near their recreational areas with board games like jenga and connect 4 and also a paid photo booth to capture memories. Ordering food is easy through a staff member or their self serve kiosk. I ordered their 3 taco combo with fountain drink, chips and salsa. You pick it up yourself from the kitchen window once you get a text message. Took about 10 minutes for completion. Like everyone else who ordered tacos, their tacos are so small... Kind of a disappoint for something totaled at $16. The taste of the food was average, nothing special. The main attraction and strongest one is the bar setting since it can hold a mass volume of people while a game is streaming. As for putting, my friend and I opted into the unlimited round ($29 per person) since we did 1 round of mini golf and 2 rounds of 1-2 putt. Both layouts are awesome in design and difficulty. We came by Tipsy Putt in Sunnyvale this past Sunday, during their soft opening (grand opening event is on Wed 11/15). The combo deal of mini golf and 1-2 putt for $25 seemed a tad overpriced, even with the discount of doing both, but still worth trying... 9 holes of mini golf, and 6 holes of 1-2 putt (which is basically a mix of shuffleboard and mini golf). Neither were much of a challenge, and both were fun to play, even if nothing really noteworthy. Half of the mini golf holes (along the window side) spelled out the word "tipsy". The various holes altogether weren't very difficult or unique, and no moving parts, basically the biggest challenge was getting the ball around beer keg props... but maybe the course was designed more for "tipsy" people, to make it more challenging or enjoyable. The 1-2 putt was cool, especially because I like tabletop games. But again, no real challenge here. Still engaging, especially if you're competitive or have a fun partner to play with. We also played some free cornhole in the smaller room past the 1-2 putt course, and this kept us busy and entertained for a bit as we drank our cocktails from the bar. Besides bar bites (mexican dishes and desserts) and the myriad of beer options they offer, there are a number of cocktails on the menu, including a whole list of "coming soon" items which looked appetizing. From what they currently had available, we tried Long John and On the Green, and though the flavors were good, they were VERY sweet, a little too sweet, and seemingly premixed cocktails. If I returned, I'd probably try some of the "coming soon" drinks (even though they're just classic cocktails with fancy or clever names, ie. Strawberry Par-garita), but hopefully they tone down the sweetness. Also, there's a sign saying "no cash accepted" at the bar, so just be aware. The place was fairly empty when we visited, so there were no waits for anything (drinks at the bar, playtime, different holes, etc.), and an abundance of tables and seating available on two levels... but again, this was during their soft opening, so it will probably get busier over time or during special events. Service was outstanding, plenty of workers at the front and in the bar, providing helpful explanations of game play, and serving drinks quickly and with a smile. After hearing positive reviews from others, I wanted to like TP, but we didn't have a great experience. I think their reservation system could be significantly improved. Because you can't make a reservation for groups less than 12 people, you can only walk in and put your name on the waitlist. This meant our group of 4 ended up having to wait for 2 hours. I understand that we came on a Saturday so it was likely busier than a weekday, but still. Two hours. Why not just have people book time slots that are prepaid in advance to avoid no-shows? I purchased a Groupon that included unlimited games and one drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) per person, which I think is still a really great deal (around $65 in total). The only issue is that after waiting for two hours to play one game of mini golf, we really weren't in the mood to play more than the one. I should mention that there are some things to do while you wait. In addition to the tabletop mini golf near the entrance that you can play after checking in, they do have a solid selection of board and card games plus things like Connect 4 that you can rent from the front by putting your ID down (just make sure you remember to return the games so you can collect your ID!) We had fun passing the time playing games and having drinks, but in all honesty it just felt like a pretty efficient way to get people to spend more money here on drinks and food while waiting for the game to start. The tabletop mini golf is fun but the tables get so crowded with different groups that it felt somewhat chaotic. When we finally received a text letting us know it was our turn, it was a very anticlimactic experience. Isn't mini golf known for its windmills, colorful characters, themed courses, and zany decor? Tipsy Putt had none of that. The courses are on the bland side with no themes or anything...they spell out the name of the place, "TIPSY PUTT", but that's it...I found that a little odd like it was an afterthought. In addition to mini golf, they were promoting future pub events including trivia and drag bingo! The spot comes across as a family friendly pub, with options for both adults and kids. Now for the golf options - there are two different types of courses available. You have your standard mini golf course (9 holes) and then your 1-2 putt course (9 holes). 1-2 putt is like a combination of mini golf + billiards, where you get points depending on where on the table your golf ball lands. We both enjoyed the 1-2 putt course better than the mini golf course since we were intrigued by the unique game concept! The mini golf courses were honestly just okay compared to other miniature golf sites; nothing too exciting to rave over. The courses were kinda pricey too for 9 holes ($15 for mini golf, $12 for 1-2 putt. If you purchase both courses at once, it's $25). Not sure why I expected this to be a full indoor golf experience. Maybe the name of this spot and social media. On a less busy day would be better for 1:1 or smaller groups. It does get pretty crammed. The bar/seating area is super roomy though so it's great for parties. Good amount of TV's to watch the game. Their drink selection is a plus. Can't speak on the rest of the food but their nachos were meh. I'll never understand olives on nachos. In addition to everything, they have side tables with games such as a large connect four. There's also a free photo booth! Personally, I think this spot is cool to check out at least once. Came here Tuesday after Christmas. It was pretty full for a Tuesday. The venue is large. There was trivia (lots of people playing but way way too slow moving for me) going on in one section, 1-2 Putt was different and fun to play. The options for drinks were plentiful. Service wasn't super friendly at first but definitely improved as the evening went on. Mini golf was slow moving but still fun to try. The food was decent. I liked the nachos and elote. Also tried the chips n Guac and the birria mini tacos. Those were just ok. I bought a Groupon to try this place out with a party of four. So likely to be back. read more

Tipsy Putt is an absolute gem! Whether you're bringing the whole family or planning a fun date night, this spot nails the vibe. The mini golf is creative and hilarious, the food is solid, and the drinks? Top tier. What really puts it over the top is the staff especially Priscilla at the bar. She's not just a great bartender, she's a whole vibe. Super friendly, knows her stuff, and makes you feel right at home. Honestly, she deserves her own shoutout every time I come in. This place is cute and I like that they have a decent amount of options. I just thought the mini golf would be 18 holes at the minimum. Games are quite small and can be completed rather quickly. It was a fun and spontaneous add on for our birthday celebrations but not sure if I would come again. read more

Tipsy Putt is a super cool new spot for after-hours hangouts in Sunnyvale. Mini-golf is a [4/5] rating -- the holes are a little too small and simple, and have kind of boring/repetitive obstacles. You play 9 holes (courses shaped in the letters of TIPSY PUTT) and it's not too crowded. We had to wait an hour on Friday night at 11PM before we could play, but we filled that time in with some nachos and drinks. The drinks and vibes after-hours on the weekend are a [5/5]! I've tried a bunch of their cocktails and shots and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them! In particular the key lime shot was absolutely delicious. read more
