I have been traveling around all morning trying to find an establishment to repair my 75% tread Good Year tire. I went to two Goodyear locations and both refused to fix it and both gave me different reasons why they stated they couldn't "legally" fix it. As a female, I know the game. I also know about cars though and they were basically trying to force me into buying a new tire. There is a small nail hole in the tire that has more than 75% of the tread and less than 20,000 miles over four years so, total scammers. I went to Tire Plus and without any issues the gentleman at the reception area got my information and was happy to fix it so long as it wasn't on the sidewall and it of course wasn't, it was on the crown. They assisted me by calling a worker to walk with me and remove the tire from my trunk. I would highly recommend this location because it was the only place on San Jose where they weren't trying to push me into buying a new tire I didn't need and I appreciate that greatly. This place deserves zero stars - I posted this on the day it happened and it somehow disappeared off the reviews!! DO NOT GET TIRES OR SERVICE FROM THIS LOCATION, even after submitting all the information and invoices we're still fighting months later to get paid for the repairs from their negligence in nearly causing a fatal accident. The week prior to August 11 we had 4 new tires installed by this location to insure safe travel on a business trip. The vehicle was making noise so we brought it back and they determined the tires they installed were fine but decided the noise was we needed a front wheel bearing. They kept the vehicle overnight and all day to repair the wheel bearing. We headed out on a business trip as soon as the vehicle was ready and within 1 day driving 70 on the interstate the lug nuts on the rear wheel snapped off and sent us skidding in front of a semi tractor trailer toward and onto the side of an embankment. The rear tire had been installed improperly and had been either over tightened or not seated correctly and caused the lug nuts to completely snap off and the loss being able to control the vehicle. read more

Why 2 stars? Simple. For tire purchases and installation, they did a good job. But my SUV had a complete inspection and mileage related necessary work done elsewhere just a week earlier. Tires Plus gave me a written estimate for nearly $5,600 of work they said was needed, work that would have been obvious to the full service relair shop that had the SUV a week earlier. I had the SUV re-inspected by an independent repair shop and was told that NONE of the $5,600 in repairs were needed at this time. I had just moved to town & brought my Volvo here for a standard tire rotation. After 1 hour they said they couldn't rotate all the wheels because the left rear wheel had a "stripped nut" and the entire wheel would need to be replaced. They blamed it on the last shop to rotate the tires (which was a fantastic tire shop in NY that I had always used in my 31 years living there. Never had a single issue with them) The NY shop was so great they accepted responsibility without seeing the tire & agreed to pay for the replacement wheel/labor. It took 10 days for Tires Plus to get the part in, then 3 more days of trying to schedule a time to bring it in for the work. I finally got an 11am time on a Saturday. They said it would take 2-3 hours. When I went back 4 hours later to pick up my car it was still where I had parked it. They had not even started the work. The manager Steve (who I had dealt with for this entire process) was not apologetic at all. I left and will be having the work done by the local Volvo dealer. Another thing that bothered me, was when I went in for the original rotation they said my brake fluid was low and showed me a test strip proving as much. I agreed and paid $100 for them to replace the fluid yet I never got a test strip showing the fluid had been changed. This is a sleezy shop and I highly recommend you avoid tires plus & all tires plus locations. I know I will never give them my business again. read more

LIARS AND VANDALS, BUYER BEWARE. I had a nail in my tire and asked to get a plug. I couldn't go to my regular mechanic because the tire was so flat so I just went here since it's 2 minutes from me. They called me three hours later saying my tire was rotting and they could replicate the tire for $80. Lol no. So I had them put my spare on and I was going to get it done somewhere else. I go there to pick up my car and they tell me that they did a "free" Service on my car which I didn't ask for or want, and they found a bunch of things wrong with it apparently mhmmmn, and my coil and valve cover were broken off and they "claimed" that the parts were just laying there in the car when they went to inspect it. That's some serious BS rn. I think I would of known if my car was misfiring and shaking before I brought it there. I ended up driving it to my mechanic right after and it wouldn't stop shaking the entire drive which was terrifying. He told me I didn't need any of the things they said I did and they definitely broke my coil which is going to cost me $300. Fu**ing liars. read more

We hit a large gash in the road while driving, and not soon after we got the low tire pressure notification. The car started driving different, and we knew something was wrong with the tire. It was 5:40 p.m. and all tire shops nearby closed at 6 p.m. but we called this Tires Plus anyways as it was close by hoping that they could help us. Brian answered and was very helpful and said to bring it on over. They fixed it in 20 minutes of our arrival even though they had to stay open later to bang our wheel back into place. Brought the mustang in for service yesterday. Did a great job on service. So today brought the Nisson Titan in for service. Hope fully I get the same good service. Well Kieth finished up with the Titan did a great job. The only thing that bothers me is that when I go in and the manager is working the desk he will tend to try to up sell the customer that is distasteful to me. When I want the tires rotated he immediately tried to get me to balance at over forty dollars. I told him no thanks. I have an account here and have been using this location for the past 10 years. The service and qualified technicians have really gone down hill. The last three times I have used this store to do a tire rotation and wheel alignment they have cross threaded multiple lug nuts which make it damn near impossible to change a tire. I have had to replace a total of 8 lug posts due to these guys not starting the lugs by hand to prevent cross threading. I left multiple messages for the manager to call me regarding this matter all of which fell on deaf ears. I have since cut up my store credit card and will be doing business elsewhere. I brought my truck here for a tire plug and a brake job and got my truck back and it wouldn't start and when I did get it started it cut right off. I couldn't move it out of theirparking lot but was forced to tow it home because they were closed and the hurricane was near. I had never experienced this with my truck so I brought my truck right back when they opened. Then I picked it up again and now it's shaking ridiculously and the wheel is uncontrollable. I called them back to acknowledge this and of course management played stupid like it wasn't their fault. I advise any potential customers not to come to this place because they do shady business to get you to spend more money. These are your stereotypical mechanics that society has deemed untrustworthy. Took my car on for a oil change today and I always ask to deal with a certain counter person which takes care of not overcharging me. I have dealt with person when he worked at another location which I stopped doing business with because everyone I dealt with started leaving I have been consistent with this location because they were good at the service, but lately I have heard more customers complaining while there which put me on alert. Well today was my day, first they jacked up the price on my oil change and did some non essential price discounts so when I tried to use my coupon the lady at the counter said " that has already been takem off." I've been coming to this location for over a year now. Customer service is...well...it's just ok. It's very straight forward and they get the job done. If they had more of a friendly service with more smiles then I would give it 5 stars. I've had oil change, new tires and other stuff done. The prices they charge are reasonable. If they see something that looks like it needs to be changed they will let you know. Sometimes it's not "really" needed but it soon will be. You'll just have to say yes or no if you want it done now or later. Today's visit was because I had a flat and needed the tire to get patched up. I hit a large-ish metal hook in the road that wedged in my tire. My tires were already worn down and I knew it was done for. I pulled over and sure enough it was already flattening. I had my daughter in the car and was trying to make an appointment - of course these things never happen at a convenient time. I was less than a mile from this Tires Plus shop, called them and the gentleman that answered was very comforting and assured me he would get me in right away. I limped my car there, and he knew right away who I was, looked at the tire and confirmed what I already knew - that it would need replaced. He gave me a fair price that was actually lower than I paid the last time I blew a tire a few years prior and had it replaced at a different shop. I agreed, and he rushed my car in and had me back on the road in less than an hour. Everyone I dealt with was super nice, efficient service, wore masks for Covid safety, and were fair in their pricing and assessments. Top notch service. A+. We will definitely continue to patronize this Tires Plus even though it's a little bit of a drive for us. read more

I had an oil leak that was flooding my driveway.. for $1001.84 this place fixxed... camshaft seal crankshaft seal new water pump serpentine belt belt tensioner this was on a Mitsu GT so it was not easy .... and they had to pull the motor done in 2 days... no problems at all.. good price for the amount of work !! This is not the first time I have had a great experience here !!! ALLLLWAYS VERY POLITE.. I know cars and they do not try to pull bullshit mechanic talk to raise the price... I want to thank the management at Tires plus for listening to our story of our experience at their facility and they agreed that is not the experience they want their customers to go through. They totally understood why we were so upset and compensated accordingly. Thank you for your understanding. Will never ever take any of my multiple vehicles to this rip off place! My son had his car towed to this location, they said that the spark plugs and wires needed to be replaced after doing a diagnostic. They told them (Shannon) several times to ONLY put the spark plugs in, then said it would be ready at the end of the day. We called again to get an update, then were told the spark plugs AND wires were replaced after telling them NOT to do the wires plus charging them a serious rip off amount. They charged $25 a plug, when we could have bought them ourselves for $7.99. On top of that the labor for putting plugs in was astronomical. My son was totally taken for a ride. This is after he is just swore in to our military to serve our country. I hate that these places take advantage of people and pretty much steal hard earned money from us. I was looking for a new place to take my car for my regular maintenance so I thought I would try this place out. Being a mechanical engineer I appreciate a mechanic who is honest with me about the differences between what NEEDS to be done right now and what they think is a good idea. They called me up after working on my car and said I needed: A new engine air filter, cabin air filter, all new struts, a wheel alignment (because the tire wear was slightly off, and oh by the way "they were having a sale on this"), and a laundry list of other things to do. I know for a fact that my car did not need any of this, in fact the struts were replaced recently and they told me that the reason they recommended new struts was because, they looked old, and so they ASSUMED that I had never had them done, they didn't even ask, they just assumed that they had never been done and asked for hundreds of dollars to do them. Every mechanic I've ever known personally has always told me that struts can usually last well over 100K miles and even when they begin to fail the effect is faster tire wear, and this kid behind the counter is telling me that "the manufacturer recommends them being changed every 60K - 80K miles" In addition, the lady behind the counter was rude, on the phone and in person. I told her I disagreed with their assessment of my struts and told her they had been done recently and she said "well if you don't want the inspection then ask for it not to be done next time" read more

Great for oil changes and tire related stuff, but be careful with anything significant. Our VW had an unfortunate relationship with a deep puddle, sucking water into places where water shouldn't be. More than $1,000 and several visits later, it still wasn't right. Took it to the dealership (Orange Park) and spent another $1,000, but at least now it runs like new. Also brought my 170,000 mile Honda to Tires Plus for oil and tire rotation. They said I needed front breaks and quoted a price. I took it to a Honda dealership (Steve Lucas) and they agreed I needed breaks but quoted and honored a price about $100 less. So as a McOil Change outlet, better than the Jiffy drive throughs, but for anything beyond that (and great deals on wheels), consider other technician shops. read more

So I previously purchased 2 tires from this location, and they had a 40,000 mile warranty. Yesterday, one of the tires blew out, so we take it up to this same location today. I have put less then 16,000 miles on these tires since originally purchased, so the warranty would have more then half of the warranty left on the tire correct? You would think, the service manager, Justin, of course tells me come inside we are gonna take care of you... Then quotes me a "prorated" price that was more then I originally paid for the tire. how is that prorated? I don't feel it's unreasonable that I think I should only pay 50% of what I originally paid, since I've used less then half the tire. He actually says well we don't know it was the tire something could have hit you, understand but you also don't know it wasn't the tire. There is a warranty for a reason this is completely unacceptable! I informed the manager of that as well as I was leaving without my tire replaced. I promise I they will get no business from me or my fiance or anyone that I tell if this is not made right. I even called the 800# but I have to wait 24 hours for the area manager to reach back out to me..... Very displeased right now. read more

Been going there for over 20 years but will not go back! I went to have a 15,000 mile checkup (tires rotated, fluid check, etc) and they assured me they did everything the factory called for. They told me they had done everything and rotated the tires. When I got in my vehicle to leave, the tire pressure light was on! How can this be??? When I went back in, they said to pull my car into one of the bays for a service technician to check it. My tire pressure indicator said the tires were at 28-30-30-30. Factory calls for 33?? The technician said he was going to put 36 in each tire - I said NO that the psi should be set at the factory settings! Now I do not have faith that they did anything to my car. I'm now in the market for a new service facility. read more

I have taken all my vehicles here for a while but recently I was very disappointed with their service and doubt I will return. First, of alI had some tires replaced and an alignment done. I twice took the vehicle back because it had a slight pull to the right. Even after taking their head tech notion with me in the truck they still could not fix it. His response that it might be the fact that I now had different tires on the vehicle (maybe I should by another from them). While they were all relatively polite the fact is I paid for an alignment and my car still pulls to the side. Hmmmm what would be a way to solve this situation guys? Second the recommended I replace the actual servo units on the rear brakes because they were "rusty". Folks, look under your car over 5 years old and show me some non "rusty" brake servos. Basically, they quoted me $620 for a repair that I did myself for $150 in parts and two hours time (I will admit a non mechanically inclined person would not have been able to it as easy). Overall they are not crooks and do OK work but are by far not the best in the service department. read more
