I now live on an island - and you bet that when I went off-island last week I requested that my dad stop here on the way home from Hyannis. My dad had to say yes; having worked in the ice cream industry in his youth, he knows a good cone when he sees one and Somerset Creamery tops his list as well. Embarrassingly, we got there 10 minutes before they opened. We camped in the parking lot. When it was time to go in, I already knew what I was getting. Chocolate mint ice cream in a waffle cone. First of all, it is the best ice cream flavor ever created. Chocolate and mint ice cream with Oreo cookie pieces. What else could you ask for?? And then their waffle cones and made fresh and they are oh so good. The service is always great, and they now take credit cards!! I cannot recommend this place enough. The only downside is that they do not have any dedicated seating, inside or outside. There are some planters of sorts that you can sit down on. Once I sat on one for three hours for a first date - can't say I recommend that. But if you want good ice cream, come here! (Yes, it is better than the Barn in my opinion).

It's a…read moregreat little shop on Hope Street, and if you're already spending time in the neighborhood, it's an easy place to recommend. The hardest part of visiting is deciding what to order. They have a huge selection of flavors, and every time we go in I end up standing there longer than I planned because there are so many tempting choices. It's the kind of problem every ice cream shop should have. The ice cream itself is outstanding. It's fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling overly heavy. Every flavor we've tried has been excellent, and it's easy to see why this place has developed such a loyal following. In my opinion, it's the best ice cream on the East Side. Just be prepared to wait if you're stopping by on a nice evening. The shop is fairly small inside, and it's not uncommon for the line to stretch right out the front door. Thankfully, the staff keeps things moving, and the wait has always been worth it. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ice cream and the generous portions. Parking can be a little hit or miss since it's mostly street parking, although there are a handful of spaces behind the building. Somehow we've been lucky the last few visits and managed to grab a spot right out front, even when there was a long line. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because the small space and limited parking can make visiting during peak hours a little less convenient. Once you have your ice cream, though, it's hard to complain. If you're looking for fantastic homemade ice cream in Providence, Three Sisters absolutely deserves a visit. Just bring a little patience if you're going on a warm summer evening.

Having a job that has me outside most of the day it is really nice to have a friendly space to stop in and cool off. There are no steps to get in, the menu board is large and readable, and they offer things like individual ice creams, smoothies, and milkshakes as well as larger tubs of their homemade ice cream, ice cream cakes, gift cards, and do in store pickup for online orders as well as delivery through doordash.

The menu is drawn onto a chalkboard and does list all the flavors and toppings in each one. I chose the red velvet ice cream sandwich this time which had red velvet ice cream swirled with cream cheese frosting stuffed between two chocolate cookies and partially dipped in white chocolate coated with cookie crumbs. They do tell you to wait about 10 minutes before eating it since they are really frozen, so in that time, my friend and I drove to the pedestrian bridge to eat our ice cream by the river. I wish the cookie could be soft, since it does make biting into a little tricky in the beginning. They had a slightly dark chocolate flavor with a hint of saltiness. The ice cream was really good, but the frosting made it even better. I thought it was the white chocolate dip that was added the additional creamy and sweet goodness but it was the frosting the whole time. I enjoyed everything about this flavor. My friend got the chocolate taco. I am personally not a fan of chocolate ice cream, but it was still decent to me. The toppings of shaved coconut and nuts was tasty.

We didn't mind though because it gave us time to go through their massive menu. They have lots of soft and hard flavors, along with sundaes, shakes, and much more. My friend was set on trying their Dubai chocolate ice cream until he saw that it was a massive cup with an overwhelming amount of ice cream and toppings. Since we both decided on their apple pie ice cream, we shared their medium size ($6) to save a couple dollars compared to two smalls. We sat outside, but their tables are far, with very little lighting so it was sad. The apple pie ice cream literally taste like the first bite of vanilla ice cream over a slice of apple pie during thanksgiving dinner, without the cold and hot combo you get with the real experience. This is a seasonal flavor so it only comes around September, but I would highly recommend. I thought their prices were fair and aligned with most ice cream shops.
