HIDDEN GEM ! loved every about TJ's cafe. It's a little hole in the wall and the food is amazing. Great prices and great portions as well. Loved the family aesthetic and the environment. You can just tell the food is handled with care and love from them. Great service as well.

Chilaquiles Breakfast, carne asada, French Toast Plate

Trusted my wife to choose a brunch spot before we headed to knottsberry farm - this did not disappoint!!! We ordered the french toast plate and the green chilaquiles and added carne asada. Everything was perfect - no complaints. This meal was exactly what we needed to start our day! French toast was made with thick cut brioche, eggs were cooked perfectly, and the chilaquiles were so flavorful and still crunchy. Glad to know they had non-pork breakfast meat options, my wife got turkey bacon on the french toast plate. They also need to bottle up and sell whatever crema they use for the chilaquiles! Service was on point, and the cafe itself is very cozy but very clean. I want to go back already!

Hidden gem!!! Jesus fucking Christ this is a god-tier breakfast burrito. Easily top 3 in OC. This was a ratatouille moment for me. I don't say that lightly. Run, don't walk, to get yourself "The One" breakfast burrito.

Went back to TJ's always so sweet. Best fries. Crinkle cut, best shape for crisp. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Served hot and seasoned with seasoned salt. Breakfast burritos are 5/5.

Fish Fridays! Every Friday during Lent, grab a crispy Fish Sandwich!! Skip the fast food fish sandwiches!! This fish sandwich is flavored packed with a crispy beer battered tilapia, beer battered jalapeno slices, slaw with Asian dressing, chipotle aioli on a toasted brioche bun!! A sea-riously fin-tastic sandwich! Carne Asada Tacos for the win!! Each bite was an explosion of flavor! Taco Tuesday Special: 2 Tacos, Rice, Beans for $10 + tax. Wonderful customer service. Indoor seating.

Food: I got the breakfast torta 12'. I got the recommendation from the chef to get chorizo out of all the meats. This meal is plenty for one person especially getting chorizo meat. It really does feel like your dad cooked it for breakfast. Service: order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. Ambiance: clean, lots of inspiration on the wall. College games going on at the moment. On three weekends parking is easy to find.

I've been wanting to try TJ's for quite a while now. The amount of highly rated reviews, the fair prices, and great pictures reeled me in. I had high expectations for this place so let's see if they hit or miss. Here's what I ordered: **Huevos Rancheros: One of the worst huevos rancheros dishes I've had in my lifetime. The tortilla chip and my sunny side eggs seemed like they've been sitting for a little too long because I could not slice it up with a knife. Everything here was lukewarm. **Chile Relleno Plate: I've had a lot of subpar chile relleno dishes in the past but this one beats them all at being the absolute worst. I'm used to my chile rellenos having gooey cheese stuffed inside instead of cold/lukewarm blocks of questionable cheese. The plate was extremely salty to the point where I threw over half of the chile away. **Denver Omelette: Do they use real or fake eggs? Definitely fake eggs because it had a very weird bready texture. The potatoes served on the side were salty to the point where we threw 95% of it away. I had ordered sourdough toast that came complimentary as a side but that was nowhere to be found and just had a little thing of jam. When I arrived, there was a table of two waiting on their food, one person waiting for a to-go order, and a phone call with three orders that were placed when I was waiting at the register. They were given a 15 minute ETA so I went with that. I ordered my food at 11:03 AM and did not get my food until 11:28 AM. I had to also ask for salsa on the side and I was given two little to-go cups. The interior has a really weird layout and it looks like it was designed as a to-go type of restaurant because of how narrow it is. The ordering station is tucked into the back of the restaurant so you can't see the progress of your order if you were curious to see where your food is. This little shop is tucked into an industrial strip with no proper signage available. The parking spots are also extremely tight and the road is very narrow. Food is definitely on the more affordable side but everything was so salty. The rice and eggs did not seem fresh at all. The service could be a little better. Didn't know what the hype is for TJ's but it did not come close to my expectations. I'm sorry but this was a one and done for me.

Remember I've said this before, This is just my opinion. Give these places a try for yourself as well. You can easily miss T.J. Cafe If you're not looking for it. Heard about this place through coworkers who suggested it for lunch. First off the Customer service was great very nice people. Place is super tight when it comes to the eating area and restaurant its self. There were about eight of us and it took up a good portion of their seating area. Probably more of an order and go place. I got a breakfast burrito which was good, (kind of forgettable) when I try out new places for myself, I like to order the simplest thing on the menu. My thought is, if they can make something so simple really good then the rest of what they make should be even better. Breakfast burrito was plated nicely for presentation. However it was a bit expensive for a breakfast burrito in my opinion (which is everywhere you go now days). Wishing them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.

This is a pretty small cafe with limited parking. Tends to get busy during lunch time. The food they serve is like half Mexican and half American. I ended up getting the breakfast burrito and I have to say unfortunately it was ok at best. Lacked seasoning so it was pretty bland. The salsa that it came with helped a bit at least. Also got the strawberry horchata which wasn't that good either. For some reason it was on the thicker side and lacked any of the cinnamon or strawberry flavor. Honestly I will come back here to give them another try and see if the other items are good.

Been wanting to try this local spot for awhile now with it being so close to our house. Veggie burrito was very solid. Place is small so we noticed it's more of a take out order spot. Kids finished most of their food so we'll definitely be back to try their other burritos. Service on point.

Just stopped by randomly since we were in the area on a Thursday morning, and it was a great find!!! Not too busy, but the storefront may be easy to miss since it's within an industrial strip lot, just read the signs. The food was SO GOOD! My bf and I got the quesadilla plate and fajita plate and it came w so much food! Probably the best quesadillas I've had in a long time, perfectly melted cheese, fresh meat, didn't taste rubbery etc. and the sauces paired great. My bf enjoyed his fajitas, although he said the sauce was too spicy for him. Glad to have found this spot!

Came in for the first time yesterday, hubby and I were looking for a good sandwich place close by. Walking in was not what I expected. The guy at the counter was very friendly, but I felt very out of place. Maybe it was the loud corridos playing in the background, or the looks from a few of the other employees as they'd walk by, just didn't feel very welcome, like they are only interested in speaking to you if you speak Spanish (which I do btw). I ordered a BLT 6" combo. It came with lots of fries, but the sandwich itself wasn't very good. A BLT on a baguette is for me, not the best choice of bread. The bread alone was great, just not for that particular sandwich. The bacon wasn't too crispy and got kind of lost in whatever aioli was used. My husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and that seemed to go well with the bread. Maybe this is more of a breakfast or brunch place, maybe more of a to go place. Either way, not sure I'd come back, at least not anytime soon.

Let me tell you why I keep coming back here…read more It's not just the beer, although Bootleggers has plenty of that. It's the patio. There's something about the outdoor space here that makes Bootleggers feel like a little beer oasis tucked just far enough away from the hustle of downtown Fullerton. There are plenty of covered tables, lots of shade, and a large, permanently covered section with a giant TV showing sports and other important television events. When they have live music, it's usually the kind that actually improves the atmosphere rather than taking it over, you know, good musicians, good music, but still chill enough that you can have a conversation. And, of course, there's the beer. They have a really solid and diverse selection, with several IPAs, stouts, seltzers, and other options usually available, plus a selection of beers from other local breweries. It's hard to imagine coming here and not finding something you like. If you can't you're just an openly hostile person. Consider meditation. There's a food truck parked along the side that has basically become part of the Bootleggers landscape. And while outside food is no longer allowed, that's not really a hardship because the food is actually pretty damn good. The sandwiches, salads, and other offerings are all solid, but the fried pickles are the real reason I keep coming back. They're cut lengthwise, breaded just right, and fried until they're perfectly crunchy. Basically big, tart, crunchy submarines of fair food fun. I have a difficult time going to Bootleggers without ordering them. Every. Single. It's close enough to downtown Fullerton to walk to, but just far enough off the beaten path that the patio feels removed from the usual bar scene chaos. The street is nearby, but you barely notice it. It's just a nice place to sit outside, drink a good beer, listen to some music, watch a game, and hang out for a while. Sometimes you don't need another crowded bar with loud music and a $16 cocktail. Sometimes you just want a good beer, some shade, and a plate of ridiculously good fried pickles. Bootleggers does that really well.
