Gail is great at communicating with her clients in setting up appointments. My cats have been groomed by Brook several times. She's kind, patient and is very handy with trimmers and sheers. My kitties look amazing and Charlie has no more uterine issues!

Came here with my dog for the first time last Saturday because we're searching for a new groomer. And I've got to say, although I was quite skeptical at first, I am pleasantly surprised with the service and cut the groomer did here. I was skeptical because 1) it's in a weird place of el camino k-town, and 2) i didn't see any dogs when I was dropping my dog off (I guess in my mind, a good grooming place would have dogs already done and waiting for their owners). But my skepticism was unnecessary. I forget her name.... but the groomer did a wonderful job with my dog. We asked for a standard Japanese poodle cut, which she did, and we got a flea bath on top of it, which we didn't ask for nor were we charged for it. She said she saw what looked like some flea dirt on our dog while she was cutting his hair, so she took the precaution of giving him a flea bath too but our bill did not include it. I asked about the bath and she said don't worry about it. Now that is excellent/over the top service! One big thing about this groomer is that she handles one dog at a time, instead of having workers help her and doing several dogs at a time. This tells me that she pays 100% attention to all her client/dogs +++++!!! Another HUGE plus for me was the fact that after the appointment, my dog did not look as if he had been petrified or scared as hell. He was definitely excited to see me, but wasn't bolting for the door as soon as the groomer let go of him. I did make an appointment before leaving because it took a while to get our first appointment with her. I recommend this; when she was going through her calendar, it looked pretty solidly booked until the first week of December!

Frits after a grooming session with nancy! :)

Nancy and her sister are awesome people. Nancy has been grooming our miniature schnauzer for a few years now. We met her when she was still working at petco! She is the only groomer our dog tolerates! He is so fussy especially when it comes to his beard/snout. Nancy always takes care of him and makes him look great afterwards! I wish we could keep him as mat-free and clean smelling as she does, but eh.. That's why we see her every 6 weeks ;)

Little Dexter love his hair cut. I would not take Dexter to be groomed by anyone else.

Love love love these sweet groomers. Nancy was my dog Dexter's first groomer after we adopted him last year. At the time, I met with lots of groomers to make sure his first experience was positive. Nancy was the only groomer to suggest bringing him really early in the morning so she could take her time with him and he would be the only dog in the studio. GENUS! She is loving and gentle with him and I know he's in good hands with her. I like that she always asks how I would like him cut and she does exactly what she says she will do and if there are any issues she lets me know. I got a grooming appointment at another groomers as a gift and they cut him too short and cut his neck with the clippers and never told me. Thank goodness there is a TLC Groomers. I like when my dog looks like himself..a few times I've taken him to groomers and I almost didn't recognize him. When I take him to TLC he looks clean, neat and like himself. Today was our first visit with her at her new location and I loved it. The space is sweet, sunny and super clean. This is NOT a grooming factory ...its a happy little DOGGIE SPA. We will be back in a few weeks

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. This lady should not be in this business. This is a private one-woman shop. I've been taking my dog here for almost two years primarily because my mom's been taking our family dog here for some time. I usually take my dog in once every 6-8 weeks. I called today to cancel my appointment because of work conflict and knowing that her schedule is "always packed," I asked if we could just schedule our next appointment 6 weeks out instead of rescheduling. If you're going to start coming here, you better make sure you know your schedule 6-8 weeks in advance. It books up fast and if you miss an appointment, it's impossible to re-book or reschedule. She'll get mad at you if you try to cancel or reschedule. She also NEVER calls to confirm your appointments. The lady yelled at me for canceling at the last minute and said customers should never do this unless it's an emergency. I'm sorry that sometimes things come up in life that take precedence over making it to a grooming appointment. She went on to say she doesn't need a customer like us who shows no respect for her time, saying that I've done this 2-3 times already in the last two years. I then mentioned that my dog's been getting dermatitis after each grooming appointment for the last four months and that she wasn't able to sleep for two weeks after each one of these appointments. The lady got VERY defensive and started yelling at me again. I don't care how angry you are, you should never lose your temper and yell at a customer. That is customer service 101. Then she started calling my dog all sorts of names. She said verbatim, "your dog comes in here dirty like a leper, with all sorts of skin conditions and infections everywhere (this is not true. My dog just has sensitive and dry skin). I don't even want to brush her teeth but I do it anyway free of charge because I know your mom." And the worst part of it all: she hung up on me in the middle of our conversation. Poor customer service aside, I don't understand how a person who thinks this way of dogs can be in the dog grooming business. I've seen her complain about dogs that urinate in her shop before/after a bath. She acts like she loves dogs when the owners are around but I could only imagine how she treats them when the owners are not there. If my dog was so clean looking, why would I bring her to the shop for grooming? If you don't want to deal with a groomer who has a holier-than-thou attitude and extremely short-tempered, then avoid this shop and find some place else. She also raised the prices about half a year ago, attributing it to high rent in the area, and that's when my dog started getting dermatitis after each visit. Not sure if high rent affected the grooming supplies she's been using. As a customer, you should be in charge of scheduling. With this lady, she will tell you when you can and can't come. She is unprofessional at best. More than anything though, I definitely don't want anyone who's going to be calling my dog names to be working on her with a pair of grooming shears.

Looking great after his first tlc groom

I'm glad to hear that most people have had a good experience here (as I have had at other Lush Spaw…read morelocations in the past) but our first visit to the Santa Clara location was not a great experience and how it was handled was even worse... We took both our dogs in (German Shepherd and a schnauzer) for a bath service and de-shedding for my Shepherd, "Z". I let them know our schnauzer can be bitey with his feet/ears and to take whatever precautions necessary and that Z is pretty good, just very anxious. When I picked them up, the staff mentioned Z "freaked out" when they tried to use the blower and hurt his lip trying to bite the nozzle. I checked his face for some kind of abrasion or cut but didn't see anything. Very long story short, later that night we found he had broken one of his top canine teeth almost in half and the jagged edge was cutting his interior lip. A few rough days for Z (and us) waiting for vet appointments and $8,000.00 later, he had to get a root canal under anesthesia. I understand that accidents happen but also don't feel that Z was properly handled as they could have attempted a different method of drying/de-shedding him, rather than presumably continuing a method that stressed him out. When I first called the manager "Aqua" to bring this to her attention, she was very empathetic and professional but this manner did not continue. She said they would check the recording of his grooming to see what happened. We then played phone tag for a couple of days before she completely stopped answering my calls, texts, and voicemail attempts. This was the most disheartening part for me because even if they had responded saying everything looked fine on the recording, it still would have felt better than literally being ghosted by a "professional" business. We didn't get a call back from her until I called her from my partner's phone, whose number she didn't have. That pretty much confirmed she was purposely screening me. While speaking with my partner, Aqua sounded much more defensive while saying there was nothing concerning seen on the recording and admitting they did not complete the services paid, but ultimately gave my partner her email and the email the owner reviews to further discuss the issue. If nothing was seen on the recording, why wouldn't they have just responded with that in the first place? At least that's how it came across.. In the end, they refunded me Z's bath service (as requested) and didn't bother responding to our email. I really just wanted to advocate for my dog and hoped the management/owners would care that this happened, possibly due to their negligence, but was met with a different interaction. I truly hope they take this experience as an opportunity to further counsel their groomers on proper handling of anxious dogs. FYI - This isn't the first severe incident I've heard about occurring within their business since this happened but can't personally speak on the others.

The groomer arrived earlier than initially expected which worked out nicely for us. (He reached out via text the morning of to see if he could come earlier.) Upon arrival he was kind, personable and so good with our pup. She took to him pretty quickly. This was our first grooming experience ever. And I didn't realize how valuable it would be to have someone come to your home, greet your pet and groom them onsite, but it was such a time saver for us. It allowed us to do some much needed home maintenance with the pup out of the house. I received a text when the groomer was done and then shortly after there was a knock on the door with our freshly groomed pup. I do have to note that the shampoo products smelled strongly. It was a good smell but a bit overpowering, at least for our liking. Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend.
