Nothing that you couldn't get from almost any diner in Nj. Super bummed that it wasn't better. The eggs Benedict sauce was a little bland. And the eggs weren't that hot, which is weird because the potatoes were scalding. And the potatoes were bland. Like could use some onions or peppers or seasoning. Pancakes were fluffy. Absolutely love this place and it is a must- before I hit the beach! I live closer to the Montclair location, however I find it easier to make a day out of the trip down the shore... The food is so delicious! Red velvet pancakes are by far my favorite. They're soft and cake-like with delicious cream cheese frosting..YUM!! I've also had two of the scrambles which are equally as delicious and portions are extremely generous. Waitstaff is attentive and know what they're doing. This place gets packed on the weekends at both locations, so opt going during the week or getting there early. One Saturday my b/f and I were the first patrons there (we're hungry and crazy)..but we didn't have to wait and after and hour we were on the beach to enjoy the day. Cute place but cute does not translate into a great dining experience. Food was ok. Service was good. Went for breakfast and ordered 2 bacon and Brie Omelets, rye and wheat toast with a earl gray tea and a cappuccino. I was disappointed in the omelette. Sounded wonderful on the menu however the execution left me disappointed. The bacon were hard and little crispy bits. The omelette was not a pan omelette. It was done on the griddle so it came flat and not fluffy. My expectation from the menu was a fluffy made in the pan to order omelette. One of our omelettes had the brie cheese the other had cheddar which was a disappointment. For a restaurant names toast, I was left wanting more. Only one slice of bread toasted was served. The potatoes were good. Diced fresh and deep fried could have used a dose of seasoning. I expected more for the price, $28 for breakfast for two. Food was fresh but need help. Has really good gluten free options! When you go on a weekend, especially in the summer, be a human being and know that the "perfect" service you are expecting, just does not exist, nor does it make sense. This is a great brunch spot. My omelets are always cooked to perfection and the staff are very friendly. The location is perfect on Cookman Ave not too far from the beach. A funny thing happened that my boyfriend's toast was actually not very toasted! But not a big deal. We had a great visit and are looking forwarded to returning. read more

Long wait time 20 plus minutes. It was a Sunday and The food was overall very good but the service poor-- as they are so busy and a victim of their own success. Had pancakes and bagel and lox was excellent. Had fruit bowl the fruit quality mediocre as some of the pineapple was a touch sour and the color showed it had been out and was not the freshest. Pancake Lasagna!!! Think layers of pancakes stuffed with cheese, ground beef and a delicious pink sauce (similar to vodka sauce). This was one of the specials for Easter and it was out of this world! Came on a holiday weekend so obviously it was going to be busy. Wait time to be seated wasn't long however once we sat we waited over an hour for our food (3 omelets). Servers were nice when greeting but once we ordered we were never checked on again. Honestly wouldn't have been a problem because we understand how busy it was but other tables around us were getting checked on. Food was good but nothing special. However, when we said excuse me to the man who seemed to be the manager as he was walking buy when trying to get the check we were treated with a dismissive attitude and he went to another table before coming over. Toast is pretty good. The staff is always friendly and the food is decent. I just wish their portion sizes were a tad bigger. I otherwise enjoy the taste of the food. I've been to this particular location twice. First time I got the crab scramble. I wasn't impressed. I needed more to the plate. Second time I got the California scramble. While I've had some positive experiences Here it's consistently inconsistent. For every good waiter there are 3 bad ones. I would say it's because of their teenaged hostesses but still cardinal across the street half of the waiters are teenagers and delivery nothing short of excellent service. I got the crab hash and it was unflavorful and bland and my friend got the Irish eggs Benedict which was basically just a plate of potatoes and it had cheese on it which was just odd.
