We came here for bottomless brunch and had a good experience! It was def crowded on a Sunday and there was a wait time for a bit. We sat outside which was nice. It's nice that there were savory vegetarian options on the menu. I got the mushroom toast and it was perfect to share and came with fruit. Also got the fries and pancakes both good. We got various mimosa flavors like pineapple and others like a green one I can't remember exactly. Service was great and our server was sweet. Would come back here but I wish they did reservations

Tried this place for the first time but definitely not my last. I came for brunch on a weekday so we were seated right away. They also have us the choice of sitting inside or outside on the patio. They have plenty of seating because of this. Our server was very sweet and helpful. We loved getting to chat with her. I got the barbacoa scramble and it was very delicious. My favorite had to be the mazapan pancakes though. It was one of the best pancakes I've had in a while. I cannot recommend it enough.

First time coming to this restaurant. It is in a shopping center and sits at the edge as the last business. There is huge parking lot and accommodates outdoor seating as well as inside. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We came in for lunch on a Wednesday. I ordered the green chilaquiles and fresh pineapple juice to drink. The plate was flavorful. At first I couldn't tell it has green sauce but upon eating it I can taste the deliciousness. My mother had the salad. She said it was very tasty and was a good size portion. The menu had a huge selection and I will definitely come back and try another dish. I definitely recommend for breakfast or brunch.

Vibe: A This is one of many breakfast establishments in the area. Toast does have a following, so weekends can get crowded. Try to time the breakfast rush if you want to avoid a long wait. We ended up dining al fresco today and opted for the patio. The patio offered a nice shaded area with a nice breeze on a sunny day. If you are running solo, you can probably chill at the bar, which is a first-come, first-served basis. Food: A Steak n Eggs: Solid choice, steak was cooked to requested temp, paired with a bed of quispy hash browns, and side of eggs. Super Michelada: The drink itself was up to standard, but the shrimp was slightly overcooked, more so than at other local joints in the area. Service: A Staff were accommodating throughout our stay, no complaints here. - John

We swung by Toast Cafe and Grill on the edge of Willow Glen for an afternoon brunch--and honestly, this place is a gem. We came in around 2 pm on a Saturday (they close at 3), and even though we stayed late, we didn't feel rushed. Here's the breakdown: Food (4.5 stars) + My molcajete costillitas was a star. Fall-off-the-bone pork ribs, crisp hash browns at the bottom of the hot stone, a red sauce that was just delicious, and even cactus that tasted like bell peppers! (5 stars) + My wife's corned beef hash was solid--fresh corned beef (no can here!), crispy hash browns, all melded together. (4 stars) + Our oldest had the classic breakfast--big, bright eggs, thick bacon, crispy in parts, with country potatoes. (4.5 stars) + The kids' French toast ended up shared, but the server even gave us one sausage and one bacon piece--thoughtful! (4 stars overall) Service/Ambiance (5 stars) + Service was top-notch. The waiter kept us hydrated and even made sure the kids had their perfect combo. + Outdoor seating is dog-friendly--Marley got some tortilla! + Even as they cleaned up, we didn't feel rushed. The place has an international flair with flags, brunch vibes, and spacious seating. I can't think of anything bad to say about this place. We'll definitely be back--especially for that molcajete. If you include value using Inkind credit, this establishment is my top favorite San Jose brunch spot!

    Fool in my food

I'm really disappointed with my experience here. I came in with high expectations, but unfortunately, the food and service were terrible. I came with a group of five on Sunday morning, and it took about an hour for our food to arrive. Two of the plates came with sunny-side-up eggs that were severely undercooked, so both plates had to be sent back to the kitchen. When my plate finally came back from the kitchen, I found a piece of foil in the middle of my tray. At that point, I had completely lost my appetite. Finding a foreign object in my food after already having to send it back was extremely concerning and unacceptable. The service was also very disappointing. During the long wait, no one checked on us or offered refills for our drinks. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be coming back. I really hope management takes these food quality and service issues seriously. I would give 0 stars Take your service somewhere else

After a great hike at Almaden Quicksilver we indulged at Toast and there wasn't a wait on a Friday for brunch, but it gets increasingly busy as the morning goes on. We shared two dishes- a sweet and a savory. Today's special was the Barbacoa Skillet, with chunks of tender and flavorful beef, breakfast potatoes, grilled onions and topped with over-easy eggs. We had to stop ourselves from eating all of it because we had to make room for the Mazapan pancakes! They had cajeta (Mexican caramel) and topped with Mazapan (nutty pastry). The pancakes are light and fluffy and didn't need syrup. The service is wonderful, the coffee is delicious and the food is spectacular!

    Chile Verde
    Belle E.

Its been at least a couple years since my first visit and I happened to be in the area after my son's graduation in downtown SJ. Got the Chile Verde with over medium eggs and corn tortillas. The verde sauce was not too tangy which I liked and the large pieces of pork chunks were soft and tender. Washed it all down with a Peach Mimosa. Our waitress was super nice and very attentive. Its a bit of a trek but I would consider coming back if I were in the area.

Toast Cafe & Grill on Bird Ave in San Jose is a great neighborhood brunch spot with a warm, casual vibe and a menu full of crowd-pleasing breakfast and lunch favorites. We went there with friends for brunch. Their portions are generous, dishes were delicious, Service is usually friendly and welcoming, and while it can get busy during peak weekend hours, it's well worth the short wait for a satisfying and relaxed brunch experience. Ambiance: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Music: 10/10 Seating: bar, patio & main dining room Parking: mall parking available Price: $25-$30 per person

    Chorizo Skillet
    Shelby C.

Came on a saturday at 10am and was seated immediately. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Ordered the chorizo skillet and I would say there is not much chorizo and I was not blown away by the flavor but it is not bad and the portions is decent. Also got the french toast combo and they are both again nothing special but still good. The food came out very fast. Overall good experience.

This place seems really popular and maybe I came in with high expectations, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Service was okay. The food was overall pretty bland and nothing really stood out. I ordered the chile verde and eggs -- the pork was pretty fatty and somehow still dry. The michelada was fine, but definitely not the best I've had. The wait was also pretty long, which made the experience feel less worth it. I can see why people enjoy it (trendy look to it), but it just wasn't for me or the group I came with.

    Gluten-free French toast combo
    Becki K.

So happy to find this hidden gem! They have an extensive breakfast menu with so many amazing options, it was hard to decide. Since I'm always on the hunt for gluten-free deliciousness, I had to go with the gluten-free french toast combo - so unbelievably yummy! Definitely enough to go home with lots of leftovers. Outside seating was nice and the service was speedy and efficient. I overheard there was bottomless coffee - next time for sure!

Here on a Tuesday and it was crowded. They do have outside dining with heaters but we opted to dine in. There was a 15 minute wait to dine inside that went fast. We were seated in a comfy booth. This is a breakfast and lunch place and the hours are from 7:00 to 3:00 Monday- Sunday. They have a little bit of everything and also drinks. I ordered the Cajun shrimp with the potatoes and eggs. It's a special and I don't usually have it on the menu. I also had a passion pineapple mimosa. My husband ordered the classic eggs benedict with fruit and bacon. My sister-in-law ordered the banana's foster french toast. Everything was beyond delicious and Roberto was our server. We're from Southern California and cannot wait to return.

It did have a lot of sugar, but it was pretty similar flavor-wise to Indian chai (sans milk), so it paired very well with our order. We ordered the chicken suqaar and the beef wrap. We opted for the chapati (sabaayad in Somali) with the chicken suqaar, but would love to try their rice or their version of injera during our next visit! The menu at first glance looks kinda confusing since they have Lunch in big letters on one side with a ton of their dishes and Dinner on the other side with the remainder of the dishes, making it seem like a few items are available during this time... but the Lunch portion just states that it comes with a side of rice, pasta, chapati, or injera (which is the same as Dinner...) so kind of an interesting stylistic choice there, but this is to say that everything on the menu is available the whole time they're open. The meals were so flavorful- the chicken suqaar had a ton of onions, carrots, chicken, green-bean like veggie, and spices, and was served with a green sauce that had kind of a habanero or jalapeno taste to it. The beef wrap was huge and I only ate half of one for dinner- it was flavored so well and the beef was cooked perfectly. This came with a side of the green sauce and a white sauce. I'd love to return and try their injera with chicken, kay kay chicken, beef suqaar or beef steak, and their sambusas! I saw some on another diner's plate and it looked sizable and filling. Jubba is located right next to a VTA light rail and an apartment complex so there's decent foot traffic, but overall, a wonderful place to try and eat!

If you live in the Almaden or Branham area, it's such a cool little hidden gem and definitely worth stopping by. The fruit looked super fresh, though the prices are higher than I expected, more like Whole Foods level prices. I thought going straight to the source would mean much lower prices, but what you lose in price, you definitely gain in freshness. For example, their strawberries were $5 per little green basket (three for $15), which comes out to about $5 a pound. At Costco, organic strawberries are $5.49 for 2 pounds, roughly $2.75 per pound. The giant seeded watermelons were $12.49 here, compared to $6.49 at Walmart. (Suggestions from a visitor) A couple of friendly suggestions that I think would be really helpful: It would be great if they posted online what fruit is in season and what will be at the stand, along with the prices. That way people can plan ahead and know when to make the drive when their favorite fruits are available. Also, there are no signs letting customers know they can go in the back. I only knew because I saw pictures on Yelp. Locals who've been here before probably already know, but as a first-timer, it looked like an employee-only area so I didn't go back there. A simple sign would be awesome, it would bring more people to the back to sit, eat, and enjoy the space since most fruit stands don't have that nice extra feature. Overall, worth visiting if you don't mind paying a bit more for freshness.

I thought the pickles and pesto mayonnaise were a remarkable combination. There's an outdoor patio area where you can enjoy your purchases. There's ample shade, and you will have no problem finding a seat. The sandwiches came out promptly. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to, especially for their dutch crunch bread!

I loved the crunch of the kataifi threads and the pistachio filling. I decided to buy a piece of the FrischSchoggi Dubai Milk Chocolate. I also decided to buy a few pieces of the mini mousses. I picked the orange chocolate for myself and the hazelnut for my husband. Jose boxed both mini mousses in a cute little box. I really appreciate the customer service I received from Jose. He took his time with me and answered several questions I had about the mini mousse chocolates. We tried our chocolates after dinner and they were so good. I would definitely buy the mini mousses again as well as the FrischSchoggi Dubai Milk Chocolate.
