Extremely solid pho - I would say that it needs more noodles for an average adult male, but you can get more noodles for extra price. Very high quality meat, a good amt, and very tender. There were bits of meat that were too hard to eat (maybe the ends?) but overall filet mignon pho is one of their top dishes. Just had the pork rib rice dish - incredible flavor, just amazing with the fish sauce. As for toughness it's a bit subjective, on one hand some would prefer it a bit more tender and fall off bone, but when you do that the rib meat loses the "meatiness" and chew. Saigon Garden lends itself to the latter party, and I personally prefer a bit more tender, but nothing really wrong with how they chose to do it. Visiting from SoCal and the flavor was spot on for Bo luc lac (shaken beef) and pho. Don't recommend the spicy noodle the noodles and flavor wasn't right, it tasted like pho broth. Food was amazing! The flavors were on point. Try the pork bahn-mi; very tasty and the bread was soft and crunchy.

This place was absolutely delicious! We were going to eat at the Elf's Den and forgot it was closed on Sundays. We went past Pagoda which was absolutely packed for 4pm. Saigon was better than the food at Pagoda and we didn't have to wait an eternity. Please give it a try if you're in the area. read more

I didn't mind the terrible service until I was brought the fishiest honey garlic salmon . It smelled so awful I couldn't make it past one bite and when we were eventually checked on, we were asked if we wanted more water. I said no and asked for my check. I was there with my family and all of our food was undercooked or strange. Three of us got one meal and an appetizer and somehow it costed us almost 120 dollars. Salmon doesn't smell like stinky fish (unless its rotten). I honestly don't know what to say. I don't understand how you could bring someone a dish like that and act like everything is normal. The food was top-notch, very delicious. We got a brisket pho and chicken Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi). Portion sizes were generous, and we were very satisfied with the meal. We came in on Christmas day, so the fact that they were understaffed did not surprise us. Honestly, we were just happy they were open! Things have changed since our first visit. The good: The menu is simpler than it once was, and that's a good thing! We ordered the Pho and it was delicious. Service was fine and our food was served quick. Atmosphere is calming, and clean. The bad: Expensive!!! A bowl of soup costs $24 or more, for soup! That's outrageous considering you also have to add tax and tip. The other issue was we didn't get a full compliment of condiments like basil, mint, and sprouts. We had to ask for more than a single serving that was brought to the table for a group of 3. You would imagine a $25 bowl of soup would come with the works. So much so that the negative reviews of this place seem suspicious... Anyways, got some chicken wings as an appetizer tonight just to switch it up and they might actually be the best wings in this area. Their pho is on par with if not better than other authentic Vietnamese restaurants in big cities. Joseph is a great host (and cook, and server, and cashier) and I look forward to eating here again. We were impressed with the setup, it looks really nice. I ordered the taro smoothies with boba, it was $9.95 a little pricy but it's okay, the tapioca pearls were uncook. The pork egg rolls were also uncook, the meat were still pink. We must have returned it 3 times and it was still uncooked, we decided to just take it home and cook it home thoroughly. Mistake to walk in the doors.. it was a slow night, several open tables on a Friday; that should have been a clue. We had a party of 4 adults and 2 children. We ordered a Thai tea, 2 sodas and 2 waters. The drinks came out 1 by 1, no joke; 1 by 1. We waited 40 minutes completely ignored.. Finally we just got up and waited in line to pay for drinks... 18$ for 2 sodas and a Thai tea. The Thai tea came out looking like a child's sippy cup, with thin plastic membrane stuck to the top. Plus it was not that great. !!! To top it off, we walked out to leave and we were locked inside with no way to leave. So now we are locked inside.... Glad there was no emergency.... !!! Along with others, our visit started with waiting outside the door AFTER they said they would open. Then we had to wait for 30 minutes and one of us letting staff know we were ready to order. I personally asked for more water 4xs and once went to the counter. Never was our water refilled. Our meals were brought out at different times (45 minutes after order was taken) and one of my friends was told they were out of the main item in the dish as they were serving the rest of us! The service was terrible. Our lunch date was 2 hours long as a result. The food was GREAT! Next time I will bypass dine in service and just grab it to go. The staff of this restaurant have a lot to learn on waiting on tables, taking orders in the order patrons walk in and are seated and attending to ALL customers regardless of their affiliation or attractiveness to the very young staff.
