Although the food is pretty good, the staff is dismissive. There were four or five people working and only one looked up when I came in. The remaining four were huddled laughing and talking behind the counter. (I was the only customer). The gal behind the counter told me we don't need your business and called me an asshole on my way out the door. I wasn't happy about having to wear a mask especially when 3 people in the place did not have a mask on. This review is for February 8th. Decided to have an early lunch before going to a movie with a friend. It was just after 11:00 a.m. when we walked into Togos and we were the only customers in the store. We walked in and expected someone to greet us and take our sandwich order, that certainly did not happen. The employees were busy chatting it up and pretended not to notice us which we both thought was odd. In the past I have always ordered my sandwich, someone would make it, take it to the register and I would pay at that time. Today however, the two female employees continued to chat, never acknowledging our presence. I remember looking at my friend and we both kind of shrugged our shoulders as no one had spoken to us at all. The male employee broke away from the conversation and took our order, rang it up and we paid even before our sandwiches were being made. The women, (still chatting the whole time), made our sandwiches. In retrospect, we both should have paid closer attention and watched as our sandwiches were made. I ordered a Turkey sandwich with Avocado, Mayo, Togos style with salt and pepper. - I think it is the #24. Really Togo's? My sandwich was super dry - NO Mayo! The only thing that livened it up was the avocado and of course the peppers. And boy did my sandwich have peppers -- The entire peppers! I don't know if I'll go to this Togos again which is sad because it is pretty close to my home. My friend ordered the Turkey with Avocado and added provolone cheese to hers but no peppers, another dry sandwich. We both agree this Togos experience was not the norm as neither of us had experienced anything like this before. This was the first time either of us had entered this Togos location. Very quiet when you walk in. Lots of associates. One person was very excited, sweet, and welcoming. Everyone else was quiet. Didn't say anything at all. Took a minute to get a sandwich even though no one else was here. Brought me the sandwich and kind of gave me a look like he hates his job. If they would at least smile I think it would be a little warmer. But over all good food. Lobby wasn't clean and with all the associates working I think that could have been an opportunity to stay on top of store standards. I've been here twice recently , and the "pay first" model has resulted in unsatisfactory sandwiches both times. I prefer the other locations' practice of giving the order directly to the person preparing my food. The first time I ordered a hot #8 and it ended up being toasted, which isn't what I wanted. Today, I explicitly asked for hot roast beef, but they gave me cold. In addition, my sandwich was dry because there was very little mayo. There was also a LOT of salt on part on my sandwich. Lunch meat is already salty; there was no need to add table salt without my approval. These are all errors that could've easily been avoided if I were allowed to give my order to the sandwich maker. They may claim this method is faster, but it is not. I won't say that I'll never come back, but it won't be any time soon. read more

Came in on Sunday to order food, and two employees one older lady with a mask and gray hair, and the other lady with dark hair and tattoos were being very loud and arguing obnoxiously and being disgustingly rude to the gentleman working. It made for a very unpleasant experience and arguing like that and being rude and obnoxious to a fellow employee was very unprofessional. And all this was happening right behind the counter in full of view of customers standing in line. I could see that other customers were becoming visibly uncomfortable while this drama taking place. And even noticed a couple customers left without ordering due to the drama at hand. The gentleman who was being berated by these two ladies took it well and continued to try to help customers. But they wouldn't stop and continued to use profanity and insult the gentleman and argue amongst themselves loudly, without any regard for customers and did not help the other employees who were trying to take orders and make food. I ended up leaving as well without ordering due to the hostile environment. I would recommend just going to the green back location which is my usual go to togos location. Because they have great food and amazing service. And you can enjoy a tasty sandwich without the jerry springer live show. read more

I love Togo's. I have been eating at one or more location for over 25 years. Now that there is one close to me I was really excited. The first time was great although putting my meal in a bag when I was dining it seemed weird. The other day I got first hand experience with the "Pay first" program. Apparently someone thinks it is faster but it didn't seem like it to me. More importantly, the personal interaction with the sandwich maker is gone. I like seeing my sandwich made and ensuring they add enough, but not too much, of the various spreads and condiments. After enough time, I got to know the sandwich makers and each visit was like seeing old friends. Now it just another impersonal lunch place. Even Subway, with their inferior sandwiches, lets you watch the preparation. Disappointing! Of course the sandwich was good as always, but next time I will go back the Greenback location. read more

I really want to like Togo's, because it's nice to have a sandwich place nearby that doesn't skimp on meat. They're making it difficult, though. TOGO's has slowly been removing things from the menu that I like for years...mostly anything that involves BBQ sauce. Now, at this location, I can't even add sauce because they don't have it as a side any more. I have a young daughter. As you might understand if you've ever had a kid, she can be a bit particular about what she wants on her sandwich. The last two times I've been here, there have been comments about what she did or didn't want on her sandwich. Same for me. Not cool. I came here to get a sandwich the way I want, not to be judged for it. The staff at this location is inconsistent. Some are great, some not so much. Also, what's with putting everything in a bag? You do have tables, and we usually like to eat it there. So, what they have is good and a fair amount of meat, but it's pricey and the experience isn't so hot sometimes. read more

Two of us stopped in to get sandwiches. There were 5 employees sitting around talking and we were the ONLY customers. We didn't have masks with us and were told we couldn't come in. We offered to wait outside while they made the sandwiches. Once again, we were told no. We would have gladly put on masks if we had any or had been offered a paper one. There was a girl behind the counter with a ponytail and freckles who was very disrespectful to me and my daughter. She seemed angry that I was ordering my sandwich an hour before closing time. She was also yelling at the cashier with glasses and her bad attitude made the restaurant very hostile. I felt bad for the poor guy who was being screamed at by this young girl as she made my sandwich. She was mad at him because he brought back the meatball sauce. I don't know why she still has a job there. When I got home my meatballs were cold and there was hardly any sauce on my sandwich. Probably won't ever return to this Togos ever again! I've been here three times. The first time was ok; the tuna sandwich was made well and the ingredients were fresh. The last two times, they barely added any meat and the bread was stale. A bit disappointing because I actually love togos. One thing that I noticed is that staff just hangs out in the same gloves, talking and carrying on even with no customers. Beware of arriving when they first open in the morning as you are likely to receive stale bread from the day before. Bread aside, this is the only Togo's I have ever been to that makes you pay before they start making your sandwich. Normally I would not care, except in this case the woman who operated the register made my vegan sandwich, and she hardly put any vegetables on it. Normally, in that situation, if I had not paid yet, I would have literally walked out of the place. How much do vegetables cost? Aren't they the cheapest ingredient on the menu? Just got a number 24. I get home and no avacado. Second time they have gotten my order wrong in the past month. They are the only Togo's ( Carmichael ) that make you order at the register. I frequent this togos often :) the manager is polite and the other workers always seem to be in a good mood! Sure sometimes they forget mustard or something small- but hey they are human! The pastrami and tuna are the best sandwiches here! So delicious and always taste fresh! Just opened today (12/31) but you would never know it. I ordered a pulled pork wrap (with an amazing whole wheat tortilla) which was delicious...you can order any sandwich or salad as a wrap, at least at this location...I look forward to coming back and getting a wrap based on the Santa Fe salad...can you tell I love wraps? :) The place is bright, with a cheerful and easy on the eyes menu, and also sports one of Coca Cola's new Freestyle machines, which means you can customize your soda pop with hundreds of different combinations not found elsewhere, like my favorite peach lemonade. :) It's right near the Safeway on the corner...prices aren't exactly cheap, but the quality of the ingredients makes the items worth it! First time in today. Clean and inviting. They had quite a few employees working so my wait time was very short. I was having an issue with a visa gift card I was trying to use (I had called to check the balance before going in but for some reason it wasn't working even though there was money on it.) I am a regular blood donor at the blood bank, and once you accumulate points for your donations you can redeem those for various items. I always redeem for the Togo sandwich.
