The pros: The food is good, not great! The restaurant is clean and they make your food pretty fast. The cons: The parking is kinda tight and awkward so don't go when it's busy. Also **Don't show up after 10 pm. The waiters and staff will rush you out of the restaurant and if you don't leave, they will turn on the vacuum, bust out the windex and start cleaning the tables around you so that you eventually get so annoyed you have no choice but to leave. Most of the servers are friendly and will greet you politely, but a couple of them have some sort or attitude like their parents beat them with a wet noodle over their forehead early on as a child. Came here for dinner with my spouse. Very nice looking place inside. We were seated and ordered our food. I ordered the Geisha roll. It was good if you like spicy food like me. My spouse got the B.B.Q beef ribs. My food came out in around 6 minutes which is good. But my spouse dish didn't come out for another 25 minutes. I had to wait looking at my dish for my spouse plate to come. We also had to wait for 30 minutes to get refills. I see if the place is very crowded but it wasn't and I could see all the waiters standing at the front talking and hanging out. I think I would come back, hopefully have better experience. So after not coming for a while, decided to come to satisfy my sushi cravings! My friend and I walked in and were seated, the place was not busy at all. We ordered an appetizer immediately and the second time our waiter, Ryan, came around we ordered our rolls. 30 minutes later we still had no food, and no check up or refills from the waiter. The busboy came to check up on us and asked if we had ordered, we said we had but haven't received anything. He went to go check and soon after our waiter came with the rolls. Then the busboy came and let us know that our waiter forgot our appetizer order and asked if we still wanted it, I said no because we just got our rolls but thanks. After we were done, since we didn't get the appetizer I decided to order one of their desserts. We waited for our waiter to stop by so we can order but he stopped by just to leave the bill. I was like seriously? He didn't even ask us if we wanted anything else and just thought we'd be done by now. I was seriously going to complain to the owner, but my friend didn't want me to cause a scene. So I paid and left and did NOT leave a tip. Yet, we saw him walk out the restaurant, but we were already in the car (probably to ask about the tip). This has usually been my to go to place but after this terrible experience I've decided not to come back. I can't comprehend a person who thinks its okay to have their customers waiting around, when its clearly not busy, forget their order, bring the bill when they aren't ready and were going to order a dessert and then follow them outside to their car. I have been to Sushi places all over The LA area, and this place was one of the best Sushi places so far. It is pretty pricey though, but you do get what you pay for. DO NOT GO HERE !!!! Came on a date night with my wife and were greeted at a reasonable amount of time. We were sat in the middle of the main dining room and then ignored for 15 minutes. Another party of 3 was sat next to us after those 15 mins and they were given drinks and appetizers. Still nobody approached our table. We waited another 10 mins and when nobody even greeted us we got up and left. It's understandable that there was a mistake between the servers on whose table it was but at some point any server can come by and ask if we've been helped. A manager could've also taken initiative and come to the table. I thought that it was very unprofessional of them and we will never return because of it. This place would have gotten three stars because I thought most of the food was ok. Just ok, not spectacular, not even good. The thing that dropped it to two stars was a piece of bad tasting salmon. It was salmon nigiri with some toasted sesame seed on top. Yes, there were two pieces. I didn't even get to the second one because the first one tasted so bad. As I chewed on that first piece, I could taste something that made me thinking of cleaning fluid stirred up with mercury. I could feel the chemical being absorbed by the skin in my mouth and immediately attack my brain. Ok, that probably didn't happen, but the fish did taste bad, like chemicals. Other than that bad piece of fish, the other food was ok and would do in a pinch if you were craving japanese food and didn't want to travel away from Downey. But 2 stars because their fish is never above par, and can often be below par (my Uni from 2 weeks ago ranked as barely edible.. only a tad above "send it back:). Soon as you come in, you're greeted by the waiters/waitresses, and you have the option of sitting at the sushi bar or a table/booth. The place doesn't look big from the outside, but it's clean and spacious on the inside. They play good music, hip-hop and what have you. Big flat screen tv's, always showing games and nice atmosphere. I'm a picky sushi eater, but I make an exception when we dine here because their coconut shrimp roll is BANGIN!
