This place has pretty decent sushi, but the service is less than desired. I've been multiple times since my first visit. I took my 4 year old son with me on a Friday (early evening) but before I was done eating my sushi he had to go to the restroom. On my way to the restroom, there was a group of waitresses, including mine and I told them we were going to the restroom. We were in there for quite awhile, and the waitress came in the bathroom looking for us. I said I told you we were going to the restroom. She didn't hear us. I asked her if our food was still there, and she said no. I said of course not. When we got back to the table, she had a fresh tea for both of us and had the sushi chefs make me a new roll that was thrown away. I was thankful she did that it wasn't her fault that the table was bussed. We only go on non-peak hours to get better service. read more

Nice place! Visited for lunch and it went like this: Good: Really nice decor, someone put some serious thought to it. Waitstaff was good. Hibachi chef was personable, saw it was just 2 adults and toned down the 'schtick' to keep it appropriate, and handled some order customization well. Even made a special sauce for the tofu! Food quality and taste were very good. Bad: A bit more expensive than similar places in Rockwall and Mesquite. Ambient music was WAY too loud and really not appropriate to the setting (80's mood music and some top 40) - running some Kodo Drums and electronic lounge would have been far better. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Their customer service is so unprofessional and rude. When dealing with them on the phone they constantly interrupted me and told me that the place was really busy and that they didn't even know if they could seat me at all. We've seen and heard rave reviews for Tokyo Harbor so we decided to give it a shot. But after going I can't see the reason for all of the hype. It was just an average restaurant that serves food not normally (or easily) found in Forney. Drinks: Were served promptly but some bizarre reason Tokyo Harbor doesn't carry Diet Coke. Our waitress told us that it was because when they had it no one would drink it. Really? Total BS but hey not her fault. I've never seen a restaurant not carry any type of diet soda. Appetizers: Calamari and Veggie Tempura were good. Sushi: I felt the sushi was average and nothing to write home about. A couple of mine didn't hold together well which to me shows the chefs level of expertise making it. The wasabi was dry for some reason which I've never seen before. I've heard that most sushi places use a paste because real wasabi is too expensive so this may explain it. Service: Was just OK but halfway through the meal our waitress was nowhere to be seen for about 10-15 minutes. Break time? This is not a kid friendly restaurant with only 4 items on kids portion of the menu at $8.50 a pop. To me this is very telling. Overall, Tokyo Harbor was ok but I can't see the reason for all of the buzz. Disclaimer: This is not a review for the Hibachi part of the restaurant since we didn't experience that. We had the hibachi filet minion and chicken and it was very good. The rice was so delicious I could have made a meal out of just that. The chef cooked in front of us and was very entertaining. There was another couple at our table who were lovely and we had a lot in common with, so we not only got a great meal but made some new friends! read more

I love this place! Best place to eat in Forney. Service is always amazing and food is incredible. They have Kirin Ishiban on draft (my fav). Just tried the 50 cent Jell-O shots for the for the first time today and they were yummy (cheery jolly rancher) I would highly recommend the Lobster Rock-N-Roll for those sushi Lovers out there. If u like sushmi the butterfly kiss is awesome as well. But most of the rolls are very good. Hibachi is amazing weather you are dine in my or Hibachi grill. This place is good if you live in Forney and don't feel like venturing into the big city for a good meal. We've eaten at Tokyo Harbor on 5 different occasions. Each time - different meals, underwhelming flavor. Everything tastes good if you slather yum-yum sauce on it - I prefer just the right amount of salt and pepper. I will say they have good soup... but it's about $14 bucks a pop! The prices you pay aren't quite worth what you get (in my opinion). Then again, maybe I'm just a food-snob. read more

Came here for lunch at 12pm on a sunday. Unfriendly hostess. Taking over 30 minutes to make one order of cucumber rolls and there were only another party of 3. Rolls were not good. We also ordered seafood udon and it tastes very sweet. Instant udon at the grocery store tastes better than here. Waitresses dress in yoga pants. Unprofessional for a nice decorated restaurant. Will start by saying this is my 4th time at the restaurant. The other three experiences were similar, but food was much better. Sit at a booth and order hibachi steak and scallops. Have been here multiple times. Have never had anything wrong with the food, atmosphere, staff or service. The staff has always been attentive, the food has always been hot and exactly what was ordered. They do get busy on Friday and Saturday nights of course. The table service the past 2 times we have been to this location was awful. Today we ordered sweet tea & water from the hostess; they brought 2 teas. Water arrived when server took our order. Ordered onion soup, they served miso soup. Had to request silverware and was given a fork, no knife, etc. The server appeared uninterested in our dining experience. Never once came to the table (after delivery of the fork) to inquire if we needed anything, or if we were satisfied with our food. The food was good and the reason we will return, but hoping the service will improve. I went to their website to post a review... not available online. Really good Hibachi and it's really entertaining. The food is really good but it's a little pricey so I only go for special occasions.

The food is plentiful and good. The service and hibachi experience was disappointing. We were asked to move to the side table area instead of facing the chef for maximum viewing. The seats we were asked to vacate remined empty for the duration of the meal. Turns out our chef did not put on a show or even interact with us anyway. Other tables were laughing and enjoying themselves with their chefs while we sat in silence. To add insult to injury, the server asked if she could close out our check before we had finished our meal! This place has gone down hill. The service was awful until we complained about being ignored. Servers and bar tenders just walked by and pretended we were not there. The bar tops and bar were full of dirty dishes and weren't removed the entire time we were there. The food was unseasoned, bland, tough to chew and the salad was wilted. I ordered hibachi chicken with a side of scallops. My scallops were terrible under cooked. The chicken was dry and over cooked and then covered in sauce to hide the miss hap. Not worth the wait! I ordered food last night from Tokyo Harbor in Forney and had it delivered via door dash. I ordered a Benti Box NO SAUCE, and shrimp fried rice. Once delivered I realized the benti box was covered in sauce, they did not deliver the salad that comes with it and there was no shrimp in the rice. I notified the restaurant upon delivery and was told by the extremely rude girl answering the phone that it wasn't their fault because door dash gave them the wrong order, however they would take care of the side salad. I told them to keep their salad. So beware if you use a delivery service. I have my receipt which has my special instructions clearly printed on it. If your order is wrong or something is missing the restaurant blames the delivery service and the delivery service blames the restaurant. So the customer is SOL. $60 wasted. read more

Today we decided to try it again, not only was it a bad experience but we ordered our normal sushi rolls and my 10 year old daughter had a piece of glass inside that cut her gums! When the cook came out, our order wasn't even on the ticket so we had to wait on our food!!! The manager told me she was going to comp all of my daughters food and that was it! So I paid for my food and when they brought me my copy of the ticket they brought me 2 different transactions bc they decided to charge me for the sushi that cut my daughters mouth!!! They tried to tell me they had to charge me for that because they already compt. Half my ticket!!! THAT WAS NOT AN AUTHORIZED TRANSACTION!! They finally canceled the unauthorized transaction when I threw a fit about the WHOLE situation in front of the entire restaurant!! Tokyo Harbor has lost a customer today. read more
