Just a heads up my fiancé n I witnessed a worker wearing gloves while dealing with food but then shortly after, still wearing his gloves, he then proceeded to pick up a notebook of some sort flipping through pages, then after NEVER changed out his gloves and continues on working with food STILL wearing the original gloves. CROSS-CONTAMINATION!!!! 6 foot, beard, tattoo's, huge gages. I complained about it but will NEVER return and word of mouth on this location will be mentioned of this. I love tokyo joe's, my dad used to bring me here as a treat when I was younger. I continued coming here, even with some of my less adventurous friends. The prices are great, the atmosphere is relaxed. I do like their sushi, try their chicken roll it isn't on the menu but it is a great alternative if you don't like seafood. I'm happy to see more locations popping up everywhere, and if you aren't already join their addicts club they definitely hook you up :) read more

Very disappointed. Have been to numerous Tokyo Joe's without a problem, but this one was having a bad night, I guess. First off, they no longer have the side salad with the miso dressing....which we loved. So were a bit taken aback, but ordered spring rolls instead. Plus two different sushi rolls and edamame. The sushi chef must have been having a bad night, because the rolls were sloppy and we got the impression that the veggies inside were a bit beyond their expiration date. The cucumber was a bit slimy in the sushi and the spring rolls weren't quite as fresh and crunchy. We tossed half our food into the trash. The only thing we totally ate was the edamame. We noted that when we went in, there was only one other table occupied at 6 PM on a Wednesday night. So the word must be out. Too bad this is the closest Tokyo Joe's to our new house, because I doubt we'll be back to this one. read more

After being told by my boss, Bob and my best friend, Sara that I would really like Tokyo Joe's I had to eat here and soon. Only one problem, we don't have one in Fort Collins yet, sigh, whine. One Saturday the husband and I found ourselves in Westminster really close by a Tokyo Joe's, yay! I immediately liked the place, it was soooo clean (even the bathroom was spotless)! It is an order at the counter type of place and the short line moved super fast. I was very impressed by the menu so many cheap healthy vegetarian options I could barely take it!!! After inquiring about the sauces (only one is not vegetarian) I decided to go with a Noodle Bowl that included the veggie mix and teriyaki sauce. My husband ordered the sushi (spicy tuna roll I believe). When we sat down at the sparkly clean table my husband voiced his non-politically correct scepticism about the "white boy" making his sushi. Turns out that "white boy" made some of the best sushi my husband has ever had!! How cool is that?!? My noodle bowl was delicious, the veggies were plentiful, what a variety, so fresh and cooked perfectly! The noodles and sauce also excellent. The two words that come to mind to describe this Tokyo Joe's is clean and creative, two of my most favorite things! The music playing was great plus it was the ideal volume! Here's a concept: Tokyo Joe's actually pays their staff a decent wage and has benefits! Personally I think this shows in the quality of food and the cleanliness of the establishment. Joe's is a really cool company in other ways too - they use organic when possible, nothing is fried, and they seem to be trying to use non-factory farmed meats. Seriously, I am just dazzled by Tokyo Joe's! So much so that when I got home I emailed the President/Founder of the Colorado company and begged him to get a location in Fort Fun fast! SPOILED SUSHI. We went there tonight and ordered sushi rolls instead of our regular chicken or salmon bowls. When we got home and opened the containers, we could smell that the sushi was rotten. The crab meat was definitely spoiled. I went on their website to contact them but when you click on their contact us tab, it just takes you to place an online order. The food is good but I have yet to experience a place with worse customer service. The female workers will never crack a smile and constantly act irritated that they have to communicate with people. If you want to build a bowl or order more than one thing, they let out a sigh like they're frustrated. My mom said she went to this location once. She was confused about some things and when she asked questions about some of the orders, a young female worker got fed up and started dropping the F bomb. As I said before, the food is good but that's the last time I go to this location. Terrible service. read more

Decent food, way overpriced. You can get real oriental food at a sit down restaurant for the same price, with real portions and sides.

First, I'd like to share that I am not one to write up a review but given my experience and my loyalty to this restaurant chain I think it is important to share. I have been a habitual Tokyo Joe's customer/ fan for nearly 10 years! I have always loved their food and I still do! However, this location off of 120th and Huron has really suffered under their new leadership/ management. I have been going to this location since it opened and I can tell you that it has never performed as poorly as it does today. I have had my order messed up 14 out of the 16 times that I have visited this location in the past 3 months (this is NOT an exaggeration). They have forgotten my sauce, put on the wrong sauce, given me noodles instead of rice and vice versa, they have given me dark chicken when I ordered white, they have given me chicken when I ordered salmon, you name it, they got it wrong. I have had the staff "dish" me off as I am waiting at the counter to order, as if I am a nuisance as a customer. I once was ordering and then the staff member that was servicing me at the register began to talk to her colleague about her boyfriend while I was ordering and then when she finished she turned to me after I had ordered and said, "What were you saying?" with a tone like I had bothered the holy hell out of her by ordering. I have been put in the "book" several times in accordance to them messing up my order and/ or forgetting my order altogether after I waited 15 minutes. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the "book" it is a list of names of people who get free food for the poor service that was performed with their previous visit to the store. The funny thing is, is that I am not alone in these poor experiences; a couple weeks back when I was in, I watched an older gentlemen come storming into the store with his order in hand and set it on the register. I then watched the man ream into the manager about how they have got his order wrong the past 3 times that he has visited and that he wants a refund. Then he proclaimed that he would never eat at the restaurant again when they offered him a name in the "book". I have also watched a couple come back into the store probably 5 minutes after they had just left and the two of them told management about how they had messed up their order. This is not all, I have had the manager - younger gentlemen who seems to be the one in charge every time that I am in, completely "dish me off" as I was waiting at the register to be helped. Then I shared a coupon that I had received and they had to check with the same manager that had just dished me off. He came up to the register, peeked at the coupon for no more than a second and as he walked away (facing away from me) he goes, "it says it's for Louisville only" and walks in the back. Now I wish that were all I had to complain about, but seriously the food has suffered under the new leadership as well. With poor leadership everyone suffers. I have had rice that wasn't completely cooked and half-butted prep on pretty much every meal that I have had at this location for a while now. If you want to try out the food at Tokyo Joe's, I strongly suggest that you steer clear away from this location and make the trip to the location in Louisville. The location in Louisville has superb customer service and even better food! I have no complaints with the Louisville location. Tokyo Joe's really needs to do a bottom-up clean out on this location. The employees have seriously been tainted by the poor leadership. They desperately need to hire some new talent that actually takes a job as a job and not a joke or social hour. I love Tokyo Joe's, but it looks like I will be driving 20 minutes out of the way for their food from now on, because this location is not cutting it. read more

Decor seems to be in keeping with the current trend of night club black ceilings with a semi industrial finish. Food service was excellent for a lunch rush but the HUGE turn off was the apparent need to hire ZZ Top stand-ins with full beards and 70's afros without the use of any kind of hair nets. I am sure I downed some curlies at some point. Witnessed one tall dude doing food prep then stroking the beard and scratching his 'stache. Wish they had a smaller portion choice because even ONE smaller bowl was more than enough for 2 people and I would prefer to get out of lunch for less than the $20 needed on two orders read more

What a mess! Should of taken the hint, when multiple customers were checking their orders before leaving. Several messed up orders in the 15 minutes we waited for our order. Was not busy and there was lots of workers but seemed like they did not know what they were doing. Got all the way home and no sauces for any of the bowls. Kinda bummed about the food. I've always heard great things and have had TJ's one other time from a different location. I wanted something healthy and quick so I got a grilled salmon udon bowl and the crab cheese wonton roll (which I've had before and it's AWESOME). This time however, the crab in the sushi tasted like canned tuna and the noodles weren't drained well in the bowl leaving a puddle of water in the bottom and making everything taste bland and soggy when it was mixed.
