I have never been so pleased with the outcome of my hair after leaving a salon. First of all, Tom Brophy has the biggest heart-he loves what he does and shows extreme care to all the people who walk in through the doors. After checking in with the receptionist I was immediately offered a drink & taken to a changing room. I was so desperate for some change and I knew I came to the right place to transform my look the day before my college graduation (ballsy). Rena cut my hair and she was so much fun! I had no idea what I wanted but she had such an eye for the style and look she thought I would be happy with. She was right. Rena was very gentle and thoughtful as she took care of me from washing my hair to styling it. Rena also raved about Shayna and told me she does the best job with color. I will honestly say this: I have seen my friends who have gone to cheaper places to get their hair done and it is just not up to the quality and standard of the products used at this salon. Go to CHRISTINE CHAVEZ for color. I recently was recommended to her by a mutual friend after my old colorist destroyed my hair by accidentally dying it from light blond to nearly black. I went into Christine and she spent four hours stripping the color twice and then meticulously putting in highlights to get it back to normal. Like I said my hair was a mess before I went in but she somehow managed to fix it, to the point i'm still amazed. My hair wasn't even damaged after she put in new highlights, which is really amazing. She is so talented and has years of experience. I would recommend everyone go to her because she really is capable of anything. Tom Brophy gives the most professional, stylish precision cut I have ever had. I have super fine straight hair and if it's not perfectly cut, it shows! When I first came to LA I had some pretty awful cuts, fortunately a friend recommended Tom when he was at Vidal Sassoon and that was it, he's been cutting my hair ever since. He's English (as am I) and along with that comes that British sense of humor and a charm and manner that puts everyone at ease. The girl who did my highlights moved away, so a friend recommended Tom Brophy Salon. I booked an appointment with one of the salon's colorists, Michelle Vance. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and sat down for a full consultation of what I did and didn't want. After that, offered coffee and sat in the chair. Michelle did a great job and has the two times I've been there since. Detail oriented, friendly, and is more about what you want, instead of what they think you should do. Its scary when you are searching for a new place to trust with your hair. I was first referred to the Tom Brophy Salon when I got my eyebrows done at Damones (PS. they are fantastic!).. I thought I should double check on Yelp and after reading many of the great reviews I decided to make an appointment. At the time I just needed a great haircut and I was booked with Adrian. He overshot my expectations by far. Let me just say he is truly talented. I started to worry that it was going to be far more expensive then I had thought because of how amazing my hair looked....but it wasn't. The cut Adrian gave me was worth way more then the $80 dollars before tip. He also did such an amazing styling job... when I was walking back to my car two random people complimented my hair. Now two weeks later, my hair still looks incredible. My stylist was out of town and rather far away and I desperately needed to get my highlights done. I was booked with Shayna today and I am SO glad that I was. She was so nice and made me feel like I had known her for years. She listened to what I wanted and did an amazing job with it! The color of blonde is so natural and she got rid of a lot of the orangey blonde that was left over from a bad color job. Tom is the nicest guy and introduces himself on your first visit. I have do not normally have my hair colored but I decided to color my hair a few months ago to add some volume and style. The salon is calm, clean and every one is really nice. Shayna was my colorist and she did a great job! I asked for half highlights and she advised me based on my skin and hair color. She was really nice and took the time to explain the process. I have gone back about every 2-3 months or so. My hair looks like it has natural highlights in them even if I've waited it out a little longer than I should. I've been with Tom for a long time running and his new salon is among the best in L.A. The location is prime and the tasteful, modern decor is where it's at. There are always fresh, beautiful orchids populating the space and everyone helpful and hip. I get my hair cut by both Tom and Rex, who are just about the only hair stylists out here that are capable of making me look good! (I understand Rex can do a mean "Moonwalk" for you MJ fans out there. I've also had my hair bleached by Davin, who is a fantastic colorist and a really nice guy to boot. Ever since Rena started cutting my hair, I haven't let anyone else touch it. She always cuts to shape my face better (long and on the narrow side) and I've never truly loved my hair until I started going to her. I have been getting my hair highlighted and colored at Tom Brophy salon for over one year by Christine. My hair is always a beautiful golden blond. I also get the collagen treatment every four months or so and it really helps keep the split ends and overall damaged hair stronger. They really time everything perfect, no waiting and they are very congenial always offering me refreshments. I went to Tom Brophy Salon after reading several positive Yelp reviews. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by who I assume was Mr. Tom Brophy himself. He was very welcoming and it set a nice tone for the salon. My appointment was with Josh (cost $80). I was nervous trying a new place, but Josh was really easy to communicate with. He listened carefully to everything I said I wanted and talked me through every step of the haircut. I ended up getting one of the best haircuts I've had in a very long time. For a salon with a Beverly Hills zip code, the vibe and ambiance of this salon is far from the typical pretentious and stuffy BH salons I have been to in the past. Everyone is super friendly and chill. I went in to see Shayna for my color/highlights, after a recommendation from my girlfriend and I couldn't be happier! Usually when you take a picture of what you would like to have your hair look like, it never turns out that way. Let's just say, my hair turned out even better than the picture I showed her! I discovered my hair colorist soulmate Bryan via Yelp almost a year ago, and have been going to him ever since! He deserves way more than 5 stars for his technique and knowledge about color, and it doesn't hurt that he's adorbs and so fun to talk to. He's from Chicago so he knows what blonde is supposed to look like and gives me the exact look I want. Besides the actual color, he is very talented with his foil technique, so my highlights look natural and not stripey at all. I never have sections where I can see my roots or anything, which has happened to me with previous colorists. The entire salon uses Goldwell color, which is apparently less harsh on your hair. The salon is also really reasonably priced and the people are very down to earth, which surprised me since it's in Beverly Hills. I'm so grateful I found Bryan & highly recommend him to anyone, especially blondes! ;) read more

I have been having my haircut by Jennifer from the Tom Brophy Salon for many years (I followed her from her old salon). I would highly recommend this salon to anyone, with no hesitation. The salon itself is always spotless and has a beautiful, zen like atmosphere. Even though the salon is in Beverly Hills and many salons nearby are very rude and snobby - YOU WILL NEVER experience this at Tom Brophy. Everyone there is friendly and helpful I have lots of hair, but it is very thin and Jennifer does a great job with it. She always takes her time and really pays attention to every detail of your cut like an artist. I recently referred a friend to her salon for cut and color and she is also thrilled.
