I know I'm a woman and I am young looking but I wasn't born yesterday and don't appreciate receiving a severely inflated estimate for parts and services. Kia service team found my Kia Sportage's issue which is very minor one (little tickling sound from the glove box, it might not be easy to find because the sound is not loud at all, it was very weak sound), they helped us very kindly and caught the issue exactly where it is coming from! If I could give Dolan zero stars, I would. They have lied to us now on two occasions. The most sad and unfortunate thing about their lies is it is affecting the car my young son drives. The first incident, was when my son had a flat tire and we took the car in so Dolan could fix. We were both told that there was nothing wrong with the tires and no puncture or nail. They filled the tires up with air, but the next day, the same tire was flat again. We took the tire to the tire shop where a huge nail was found. The second and latest incident, was my son's steering wheel, locking and the brake light not working. After spending $1000, we were told by Dolan that nothing specific could be found and we just needed the 60K tuneup and a new battery. Today, the check break light is back on and the problems begin. I had bought a 2020 Kia optima less that a year ago after this man totaled my beautiful Toyota. I had to get this Kia towed to this dealership 2 times where it still stands for 6-8 more weeks with absolutely no help and that's only to have it diagnosed that maybe it might be under warranty until then they have given me 0 options I have no car. I have double warranty on it the first time it sat there for 2 weeks only to find out that the starter came unplugged which they charged me 150 for which is insane you would think that was a factory malfunction for not making sure it was completely plugged in. This time it's a engine malfunction completely useless and I drive able and they have decided to fuck me over gave me and option on $12,000 trade in so I'll be 4,000 underwater on a car that I don't even want. I'm not sure what's happening with these big businesses and constantly ducking people over this is absolutely insane and really taking a tole on my whole life right now it's insane that I can spend 25,000 on something and be completely fucked over by these people. I bought my Kia Sorento about 4 months ago. All-in-all not a bad experience during the purchase. In some ways typical new car purchase but was there on a recombination of a friend who said that they are a family owned business and treat customers like family. The car came with Hankook tires and I was assured by the sales person that they were good tires and rated for 65, 000 miles. I could tell soon after driving they were not high-end hankook tires. What I later found out is they are the very bottom on the Hankook line. I call this bait and switch. I could see the tires wearing down very quickly even with rotation. I now have less than 19,000 miles and they are basically shot. I called Hankook and they told me to bring to Dolan for an inspection. Of course Hankook doesn't want to compensate for the tires unless they have to. I went into the dealership and once the service (sales) tech saw that I wasn't there to spend money he proceeded to give me all the bad news of how Hankook probably won't do anything and I needed to gather all my records. When he checked the tires he claimed they are still drivable and nothing could be done. I have a 5 year old that drives in my car and I drive Uber/Lyft. There is no way I will endanger my son or my passengers for because Dolan or Hankook will not stand behind their products. I guess I'll be spending about $700 to put decent new tires on a 4 month old car. Since I drive about 25 people a day around Reno/sparks and it's a nice looking comfortable new car the topic comes up often. I will relay my personal experience to each and every one of my customers and my thoughts about Dolan Auto Group, as well as Hankook and kia. I can only imagine this will resonate with more than a few of my customers, friends and circles I travel in. Absolute charlatans. I've never been more disgusted with a service department in my life. I personally own a Honda Civic and Bill Pearce Honda makes this place look like a joke. My husbands Kia has had nothing but problems (never buy a Kia) and EVERY TIME we bring it to Dolan Kia for service, they take us to the cleaners. Their service prices are extortionate, their service techs have no idea what they're doing, every time we bring it to them for a problem, they claim they've fixed it and then the problem resurfaces almost immediately after. We had a 10am appointment and it took them 45 minutes to finally take our car. They don't keep accurate record of services (we were just told the last time we came in was January 2019, when in fact it was in July of 2019 - they have no record of this despite us having a receipt for it). Their service "customer service" employees are only interested in charging as much money for services as possible - nothing is given as a courtesy, nothing is offered to retain customers. The price for a BASIC 90,000 mile service was over $500 plus $150 for having to check why our check engine light is on for the THIRD TIME, despite them claiming the last 2 times that they fixed the problem... I just took my Honda Civic to Honda for a similar service that involved a complete replacement of my spark plugs in addition to all other items, and it was $400... DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR ANY REASON. Find an independent servicer. Better yet, don't buy a Kia. We will never be back. The fact that your response to negative reviews is a plea to get in contact and fix the problem for the very unhappy people you've slighted, proves everyone's point - stop charging so much for "checking" items in a service (aka hourly labor), improve the quality of your work and put the customer first. I bought the Stinger on 3/5/18. That process was easy enough, if you understand that regardless of the pitch, this is a dealership trying to make as much money as possible off a deal, which is understandable. Buying the car was easy and as low a headache as you can expect from new car buying. That is the only reason this review is not 1 star. Fast forward three days, 3/8/18, and I notice a screw in one of the tires of my brand new vehicle. I call, and the nice young lady quickly sets me up for an appointment today, 3/9/18, in the morning. She also explains that the tire would be fixed for no charge. I come in today, and am told that the screw may be in a spot that requires a new tire, which I would be required to pay. Also, I am told that to repair the tire would cost money (19 dollars and change, so not a big deal, but the principle matters to me) I see the manager, Jeremy, who helped finalize the deal a few days prior and ask him about already trying to get money out of me for a tire. He tells me tires aren't covered under warrant and walks away, completely dismissing me. Now listen, I'm not saying I expect tires to be covered under a regular warranty or even the extended I bought. What I am saying is when you buy a brand new vehicle, pay a PREMIUM price, and notice something like a small screw a few days later, it should not only be a no brainer to want to take care of that customer, but also to not completely dismiss them. Now to add a little extra, the tire didn't need to be replaced, So had the manager just taken the time to make sure I was taken care of, not only would it not have cost either of us any money, but I would have walked out of there with a totally different attitude and remembered a positive experience. That one experience, is the difference between recommending Dolan to my friends and family, and giving pause. As I update this review over the months and years, I hope to give more positive experiences than negative. But if you're looking to buy a vehicle, this is information you may find useful when making a decision. UPDATE 11/10/18 First oil change for the Stinger at 6000 miles. Staff was professional and courteous. The oil change didn't cost an arm and a leg and was provided a ride back to work at no charge. We moved back to Nevada in October of 2020. Hubby drives for Uber & Lyft - it's our sole source of income. Beginning of 2021, his Kia Optima experienced some issues; Dolan was recommended. Took Kia in for service; she was down for 3 weeks and her service ended up costing us a little more than $3,000 out of pocket. July of 2021, he's driving a client when Kia quits on an off-ramp. He gets her to safety, but getting a tow on a 4th of July holiday week-end was a nightmare. We eventually got Kia back to Dolan. Part of the issue was still under warranty; the other issues were a Kia recall. Did I mention he drives for a living? Dolan has had his Kia since July. At first, contact with Service Department was pretty easy but about a month into it, no one would call back. Frequent calls over the next few months were met with radio silence. He had to call management to speak to an actual person. After which we did get a call back: a new engine was on order but supply chain was backed up. I'll pause here to inform, just to be fair - we do have a leased vehicle provided by Dolan, so we aren't without transportation but he cannot use it to generate income, and the registration is expired. Neither the ride hail platforms nor the lease company will allow the use of a leased vehicle. About October of this year, new engine finally arrives and is installed. But somehow - we were told - during test drive, the new engine was destroyed. It's December now; two weeks ago, the NEW new engine arrived and was scheduled for install last week. Then, Wednesday, 12/8/21. Today is Friday, 12/10/21. No word from Dolan, and texts haven't been returned. Husband is going to Dolan as I write this, and I'm quite concerned because his patience is at an end. We have, in the five months Dolan has had this car, blown through the bulk of our personal savings to meet living expenses. It might be different if we were in our 30's, but we're both in our early 60's, and this is a long way to go to recover from an incident where we did what we were supposed to do, and have paid an unreasonable price for. At this juncture, we are at Dolan's mercy. And that runs totally counter to what being a customer is supposed to be. I'll let you know how it shakes out, but right now, 'angry' doesn't begin to cover it. read more

Service department forced me to pay for a diagnosis when I already told them the starter motor needed replacement. $150!!!. Then they said the battery was the only problem, so I went ahead and bought their OVERPRICED battery based on the service adviser's (yeah sure) diagnosis. At the end of the following day, took all day to pop in a battery, she called me and says 'Oh, NOW it DOES need a starter' like I requested in the first place!. I also asked to have have an oil service done while it was there. The bill was right at $1,000, yes one thousand! dollars. And THEY DIDN'T EVEN PUT AIR IN MY TIRES, THE SENSORS CAME ON TODAY AND THEY WERE ALL WAY LOW! WTF did I pay for??! I guess I'll drive 98 miles to Roseville Kia next time. The finance man charged me extra 500 bucks for maintenance I declined to purchase. Really messed up. When I returned to car to have hitch installed, The rental car had a quarter of a mile to the tank. Took my 2018 KIA for a simple oil change......had an appointment for 2p.m. Got there 20 minues early, waited an hour before car was placed on lube rack. Car came off lube rack went over to wash rack BUT turned around and came back and placed on oil rack. The Lube Tech. didn't read the written repair order that stated "Customer Provided Oil & Filter". The Lube Tech had gone ahead and put their own "Bulk Brand" oil into the KIA......even though there were 7 Quarts of oil clearly visible and settin on the front. passenger side floor. For some reason the Lube Tech then proceeded to drain the fresh Bulk Oil (wasted that 7 Qts.) and ONLY then did he use my Mobil 1 Synthetic Extended Life 5$-30 Oil. 20 minutes later the care is back over at the wash rack and finally after 2 hours I'm on the road again. You would think that with a pre-appointment, it would take 1 hour at the most. You would think that a reasonable Tech would read the written Service order before starting to change the Oil. You would think that after screwing up they would NOT waste 7 Qts. of their Bulk Oil...........you would think someone is responsible for supervising this Lube Tech?? I think with a bit of effort they could do better because this was something I would expect from one of those Fast Lube places BUT NOT from Dolan KIA....an otherwise professional bunch. It pays to pay attention while you are there. Imagine if it was a serious mechanical issue you were dealing with and they installed the wrong part?? read more

About 2 1/2 years ago we bought a kia 2012 Sportage. They did not disclose everything about the used cars to us. And by law, they were supposed to disclose everything about the car specifically when an engine was recently replaced. What they did, they called us 3 days later and told use about what they had not disclose to us. Yes they made us sign a paper about telling us that the engine of the car had been replaced. Never offered a warranty on or at least a service contract or something. Now my Kia's engine is a total lost. They try to help and for me to ask Kia corporation to help out because they said part of the engine failure was due a recall on the engine not being done on time. But honestly due to Covid-19 nothing was done in time.Well we got the end of the stick now we have a total loss car that cost more to fix it then what it's worth. And still old payments on it. Basically be careful out there when you purchase a car with them. Don't know if they don't always disclose everything to there customers when they have to. Funny after I talk to one of the managers in the dealership, beside my car not working at all. He even offered me $3,000 for it and put it towards another car. Let me start this review by stating that I've had absolutely horrible luck in the past when I've gone car shopping, so I walked into Dolan Kia pretty much expecting the same thing to happen and was just this side of terrified. I had an all day standing appointment thanks to Mitch M in the business office. Mitch started the whole process with an amazing feel. That they would do as much as they could to help me with the car buying process after totaling my car just a month prior. I walked into Kia and the person who greeting me was Nick. Nick ended up being the guy to work with, and I can honestly say that it was the most pleasant experience I've had with a car salesman. Nick asked what I was looking for, didn't seem surprised that I would bring someone with me, and took us directly to the 2016 Kia Soul in the color I wanted with a manual transmission. I was stoked. Beautiful car, beautifully maintained, and ready for a test drive. He highlighted all of the main features, and then warned me about the lack of a spare tire but stated it would be no issue for them to get one and add it to the financing if need be. He was amazingly personable, polite, and a good guy to have along for the test drive as both my sister and I drove it. He was there every step of the way even when there was a snag, he called me the next morning and checked in to ensure he could do all he could to help. Cody was awesome as well. He really went to bat and bent over backwards to get me a down payment I could afford and payments that weren't astronomical. He went over every little detail in depth about the warranties, the additional warranties, GAP insurance, and their care packages. He left nothing out and made sure that I understood what I did and did not want to add to the financing. He was able to get me financed with a company that I have experience with, and was enthusiastic the whole time. He and Nick never once seemed pushy or overbearing, and I'm grateful that they seemed interested in me just as much as the sale. Katy in finance was amazing. She explained everything that I was signing, was enthusiastic and smiling the whole time, and truly felt like she cared about me as I signed (what felt like) my life away. Lissa, the delivery specialist, was just as amazing. She explained every little feature that I could possibly have a question about, and even helped get my phone paired to the Bluetooth in the car. She made sure that I was comfortable and made sure that I had her card to call her in case I had any questions. Over the two days that I was at Dolan Kia, the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the quick and polite greeting when I walked in, to the shaking of hands as the keys were handed to me and I was leaving, Dolan Kia really outdid themselves to make sure that I drove off in the car that my wife and I have dreamed of owning for nearly a year. We went to Dolan Kia to test drive a new Optima (which we loved immediately), before test driving the car we handed the keys of our trade over to Ali for inspection to see what they would offer for the trade. After 3-4 hours of discussing financial options we decided to sleep on it and make a decision in the morning. After telling Ali we would need to think about it he refused to give us our keys back. I spent an hour attempting to justify my decision to think about it before signing anything. After another 30 minutes I had to walk into the finance office and demand my keys back so I could leave before a completely random salesperson helped me out with getting them back. We came back the next morning to go through with the purchase, thankfully Ali was nowhere to be seen. We spent another 3-4 hours waiting around at the dealership for them to print a contract. Since purchasing the vehicle we have been inundated with phone calls late into the evening begging for positive reviews on their customer service survey. I will never recommend this place to a friend, as I would never wish this pressure and disrespect onto another person. This is easily the worst buying experience I've ever had. I understand the idea of not losing a sale, but holding a person nearly hostage is not the way to go about it. read more

This review is about the service department specifically- I can't say what the experience of buying a new car would be at this dealer. I called because one of the buttons on my key fob was no longer working. The service person put me through to parts, and the parts person told me I had to make a diagnostic appointment through service. When I asked him why I need a diagnostic appointment for a key fob, he informed me that there was probably something wrong with the car itself. In case it was the key fob, they would charge me $159 for a new key fob, plus the diagnostic charge and labor to reprogram the fob. This seemed like a strange troubleshooting conclusion, but I was transferred back to the service person, who told me that she would leave a message for the service manager to call me back. After a while, I determined that the parts person's logic wasn't sound, purchased a new key fob online ($25), and had it programmed by a locksmith for $40 (Reno Sparks Lock and Glass ftw). This worked just fine, so I now know another type of service that doesn't require a dealer. As for the Kia parts department? They never called me back, anyway. read more

We recently went in to trade in our truck and buy a used car. We used their estimated trade in value online tool, which only resulted in an immediate call from the Internet sales manager to set up a date and time to get our vehicle appraised. (Great...now they have my phone number and can bug me). So, my husband brought in the truck and dealt with Hubert, a "sales manager." My husband was told $6k for his truck. Then when my husband said, "Great! $6k for the truck...then I'll take the car at the Internet sales price of $14k." That's when Hubert changed his story and the firm $6k for the truck became a "let me double check and call you back." Apparently, Hubert was unaware of the advertised price of the vehicle, although he had over 18 hours to do his research. Upon receiving the call back, we got a new trade in value of $4,500. What a joke! I really wanted to buy a car from the Dolans because I do respect all they do for our community. However, after an experience like this, I will not be back. They've lost a customer that goes through cars every 2-3 years.... read more

However, one of the managers named Alfanzo was THE WORST salesman I have ever dealt with in my entire life. the absolute worst. First off, he offered me way below what kelly blue book told me was a trade, and though i understand KBB is just a guideline, this offer was absolutely ridiculous. Then, he was telling me that I dont know how to research cars and that no other dealership would offer me a better price than him for my car, when in fact Lithia subaru offered me $2000 more for my car. Had a great experience at Dolan Kia yesterday and walked away with a brand new car. I was helped by Ben and he was extremely attentive and got me exactly what I wanted.
