A few folks from our office have come here for lunch a couple times now. I love spaghetti and of course it's really good here. My wife and I were just there to have dinner. It took them a while to service us. We finally got our salad but we kept waiting for our main dish and it never came. We could see the cooks in the backside of the restaurant were just standing there. I think our waiter forgot to tell them about our main dish. The waitress never came over to our table to apologize or to let us about the delay of our order. Very bad service. So we paid for the salad only and walked out. Well...it was Christmas Eve and we didn't have a reservation! The staff is so gracious and friendly, they cleaned a table and sat us immediately! We noticed the place filled up quickly and soon no tables remained. We also notice a waitstaff of 3 people. I've never seen people work so hard in my life! Providing drinks and food for everyone like bees in a hive! I was really impressed with these amazing people! We had drinks and drink refills and apps right away! They had two huge tables of ten people dining. They managed to keep everything flowing smoothly! We ate a couple of huge pizzas, wings, Parmesan bread and pasta. I really like this place. I found it because I was looking for places that kids eat free in the area (life of a parent!) and found that kids eat free on Thursdays here. We all love Italian so we decided to give it a try! Surprisingly every time we've gone we found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant! I don't expect that's usual. It's probably because I was coming early-ish on a weekday. The restaurant is really cute, has outdoor and indoor seating, and has been quick to seat us. We sat inside both times and we're helped very quickly. They will give you bread and butter if you ask for it, but I don't think they do it as a standard. I tried the cheese ravioli and the garlic knots (I believe they are called). The garlic knots are very good, but they are caked in oil, I wish it was less of that, an more of the seasonings. The level of garlic was very good. It comes with a marinara that was also very tasty. The cheese ravioli were excellent. Soo creamy and cheesy. Not too oily or anything. The perfect amount of sauce. It also was a significant amount of food, I felt satisfied. I would definitely get them again. Overall, I think it's a nice restaurant with good food. Really great family atmosphere. Wow way taken back by our dinner last night. Kayla did a wonderful job checking in on our table and making sure all the dots were connected and that we were taken care of, wonderful personality and very attentive. Our server Orriana was exceptional, food was out quickly and she was super kind and quick on her feet, made sure we had everything we needed to have a wonderful meal. I had lunch here with my family (including our puppy) earlier today. What a great dining experience! Excellent outdoor dining area, great food and super-friendly, attentive staff. One of the gentlemen working here even offered water for my puppy. They are now serving brunch. We will definitely be back to try their brunch soon! read more

Wow I am surprised that Tomatina only has 3.5 stars - we love this place! We've come every so often and have alwaysss enjoyed our meals and visit. Most recently we DoorDashed pizza and pasta from here and loved it, which reminded me that I haven't rated them on Yelp! We ordered a Veggie Pizza and then a Make Your Own Pasta. First, the food was excellent, and the wait staff was divine. Kayla, Who served as hostess and manager at this establishment the day I was there, went out of her way to make me feel comfortable Now, I want to tell you to quote a famous line from one of my favorite radio programs: "And now for the rest of the story," I've been to Walnut Creek many times with my family. We have stopped at this restaurant multiple times to grab a bite or meal, but I'm writing this review because of what Kayla, the manager, did for me that night. You see, I went into the Apple Store to have my phone repaired, and if you have ever been in the store, you know it could take from 30 minutes to our two hour two hours to get anything done. Well, it was about 5 p.m., and they repaired my phone, and I returned to my car; a Tesla is an important fact because to operate my car, I needed my phone, and I did not know that Apple wiped all the information off the phone and I had to restore everything. I get to my car. I could not open it, and since it was about 530, now closer to 6 o'clock, everything around me was closing down. I went into the Starbucks stack to use the phone, but of course, Starbucks didn't have a phone I could use. They were getting ready to close, and other stores were also closing. I went into this restaurant. Kayla must've seen the panic on my face, and the first thing she said was to calm down and that I could use their phone to call my wife so she could bring her phone and her key for the Tesla. Kayla was very accommodating to a total stranger. She had me sit in the restaurant because it was raining outside and the temperatures were dropping. She brought me a glass of water and asked if I needed anything else. She checked on me throughout my time waiting there. Kayla and her staff went out of their way to ensure the welfare of others--and it wasn't just me. I saw them engaged with families; older adults and one disabled couple were all treated with respect while I was waiting. I can only describe it as saying as a former member of the US Marine Corps. They represented the actions of the values that make this country great. It was such a wonderful feeling to have. I ordered a small plate, the bruschetta with prosciutto, and a glass of Pinot Noir while I waited. it was delicious. Usually i understand slower service at restaurants, lots of door dash, phone orders , having full tables ect. But we were literally the ONLY people in there, waited on our appetizers for about an hour and 30 minutes in we get SUPER doughy bread, like actually very undercooked and it was sitting out so it was cold. Finally checked out Tomatina for my BFF's birthday this pasta weekend and WOW! We're surprised no one talks about this place! We were seated immediately, parking was okay (paid street parking or garage,) with immediate super cozy vibes. You can order and pay from your phone which is such a great feature!! Given that, we still received amaaazing service from our waitress, Kirsha! We started off with their garlic rolls (rating: 4.5/5) and meatballs (rating: 5/5). Both were super delicious apps! Then for entrees we tried their shrimp pomodoro, shrimp campanelle (seasonal), and margherita pizza! The pastas were huge portions and sooo full of flavor (both ratings: 5/5)! They're sure to satisfy any pasta craving! Their pizza was good, but not our favorite -- since we do prefer a super crispy crust and this one was a bit light for our liking (rating: 3.5/5)! Where do I start, I don't like to write bad reviews but wow the service here is the worst. Came in with my family wanting a good experience but left with nothing but disappointment. First we came in and asked for a table for 4 asking to sit on the booth, this lady with a light gray sweatshirt got so irritated and starting talking so loud over our voice which was so obvious that she's pissed. We let that one go, but as time went on it kept getting worse. Our foods came out late, asked for a simple coffee (didn't get it until we asked the other waitress who was def more kind and caring), I asked the same lady with the sweatshirt for a refill didn't acknowledge and never got. She slammed the share plates, forks on our table, and kept using the same loud voice. But what's weird was we did see her going to other tables and was all smiles and super nice, but when she comes to our table it's all grumpiness and frowns. I hope this is not because we are Asians but jeez it was very obvious and we didn't feel welcomed in any kind of way. At some point we just wanted finish eating fast and get out because we didn't feel like this was worth the experience specially having our kids with us for a family dinner. Amazing place for some great wine and fresh food! My boyfriend got a local beer and I tried one of their Cabernets and it was delicious. It was a little chilly but we sat outside under one of their heaters so it turned out to be a nice evening. We started off with their pasta trio, which was meat lasagna, creamy pesto rigatoni and chicken alfredo. All three of these pastas were to die for, incredible! We couldnt pick a favorite they were all so good. We also ordered a pizza, the carne combo which was mozzarella, tomato sauce, fennel sausage, pepperoni, prosciutto and mushrooms! It was fresh and delicious. You can tell that they use high quality ingredients and everything is made fresh daily. I noticed that she was very friendly with other customers and would smile but then come back and be rude . Our food was not good. The shrimp pasta had no flavor . The Alfredo was okay. I ordered wine and she didn't bring it until the end of my meal. I was really disappointed considering it was recommended to us. I am a top door dasher and encountered a very disappointing situation at Tomatina.. I was picking my customers order up and was greeted by Maria who was extremely rude! Rolling her eyes and degrading me for being a dasher insinuating I hang out in the back of restaurant, when I pick my orders up in that area. We ordered the dinner for two, which included the caesar salad, the chicken marsala, the spaghetti and meatballs, and the supposedly two scoops of ice cream; along with a beer and a cocktail. We ordered our food through the QR code and our food was brought out to us in less than 10 minutes. However, our alcoholic beverages did not come out at all, until we asked a random server about our drinks. All they did was apologize, and we waited another 10 minutes for it to come out. Mind you we were already done eating. On top of the alcohol situation, we never got our dessert that was mentioned on the dinner for two. There were no servers that checked on us, so we paid the bill through the QR code and left. Amazing italian food that hits the spot! Came here for the first time while restaurant hopping with two of my girls. We got free garlic knots because one of my friends is a Tomatina member. Omg they are to diiiiie! So much garlicky goodness!! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs (basic, I know) because you can't go wrong with it! Got pretty full off it. My friends ordered chicken fettucine alfredo (basic too hahaha) and the summer pappardelle. Didn't get to try them but both looked delicious.
