Food was good, service was unfortunately not the best. I have read that the service has been an issue per other reviews. The only booster seat available didn't have working straps, which was an issue but we made it work. They gave the kiddo a free bowl of tofu. I also found the menu was a bit limiting compared to most sushi spots. I would go back again though.

Food was delicious. Service was great. I loved that my eel sushi roll looked like a dragon!

I was surprised when my friend ordered shrimp sushi and chef made deep fry with head of shrimp. not many sushi restaurants does it, they made nice and crunchy. Good quality and kind prices of menu.

Tomodachi has the freshest sushi in town. Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Presentation exceeded my expectations. Would recommend.

Tomodachi is a solid sushi restaurant if you are fan of no frills fresh sashimi style fish. I've driven by this location many times but it wasn't until recently that a friend and I were craving sushi close to home that we decided to give this spot a try. The ambiance and atmosphere left little to be desired though. It's definitely got a stark feel, not very warm or inviting so I was a little apprehensive walking in. However the servers were friendly enough and sat us right away. For a weekend evening the restaurant only remained about five tables full at all times. It was quiet and relaxing in that way as it didn't have the normal hustle and bustle some restaurants have on a weekend night. So if you want a more intimate private setting this restaurant would surely work. The service was a little hit or miss. I felt that simply out of the two servers on the floor, one was more on it then the other. We did have to ask for our drinks to be refilled which I'm never a fan of, especially when I find the restaurant to not be very busy. But then service picked up towards the end were we stopped having to ask and they were more on it. Also the sushi all came out together which was definitely a plus as when your dining with someone you want to be able to both eat together which sometimes is a barrier at sushi spots when they bring only a roll or two at a time. The sushi chefs behind the bar were friendly and again the meal was well paced. I felt that the prices were average. Not a deal but also for the area the prices were appropriate as the sushi was fresh and the bites were perfect in size. The menu as others have said wasn't innovative really, but at least they did the classics well and the menu would be easy to follow for an average sushi eater. Not an overwhelming amount of rolls to pick from but their nigiri menu was on point! Our favorites of the night were just the well balanced nigiri sections of salmon, yellowtail, and soybean curd. As for the rolls I would skip as we found we would rather spend money here on the nigiri. If your in the area and wanting a simple but fresh tasty meal of nigiri and sashimi this is definitely the spot for you. We also noticed a lot of to go orders so this seems to be the hot spot in town for takeout so worth remembering. I don't know if the meal was memorable that it would be on a regular rotation for me but if someone was begging to go I would surely give them another go as it's nice to have different sushi options on this side of town.

The 911 roll and Tomodachi roll are my favorite here, so good! Their sakè is delicious and goes down so easy, too. Staff is always friendly and the restaurant is a local sushi gem, it's a full house in the evening time.

Had a quick business meeting and decided on a place right off the freeway. Service was warm, friendly, and prompt. Was greeted immediately upon entering. I ordered a sushi/teriyaki salmon combo that was very tasty. My peer ordered ramen which she enjoyed as well. Highly recommend this place and will come back again.

The table was ready for us when we arrived. The ambiance at Holdren's is an old school steakhouse with leather booths around the perimeter and tables with tablecloths in the center. Manasseh, our server, came by right away to tell us of the specials and answer our questions about menu items. He was very patient, got everything right, and service remained outstanding throughout. I started my meal with the tomato basil soup. Wow! Was that good! For my main course, I went with the bacon wrapped prawns with a side of rice pilaf ($38 - includes the soup). Two skewers with 6 bacon wrapped prawns and some veggies on the skewers. Also delish. My wife went with the seared ahi ($39). Also quite good. When Manasseh brought the check, he made of point of telling us the tip was already included because of the size of the party. He also circled it on the check - very honorable.

But it is REALLY loud. There were maybe 9 people in there and you had yell at the person next to you because it's all concrete and metal. Not sure who thought this would work but it definitely does not. Also doesn't look like anyone had a plan of what they wanted the space to be. Live music? DJ? The acoustics are going to be awful. It's a massive space with a bunch of tables and nothing else. It's quite simply just odd. As for the food, it's not good. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. Pretty bland and nothing is fresh. It's also outrageously overpriced. Chicken fajitas were meh and they were $27.00. We got shrimp and they were rubbery and came in a plastic bag, which was in a bucket. Weird. Also, no silverware. Only plastic. Just a headscratcher all around. The website says they have happy hour but they didn't have a separate menu. Just two dollars off drinks is what w were told. Probably why it was empty at 5:30. Also weird. They have this huge space and don't seem to have any idea what to do with it. Drinks were the same as the food. Wildly overpriced and the bartender didn't seem to know what they were doing. So, fitting for the overall concept. I was excited about the new bar because we have an office down the street but this looks like a hard pass for me. 5 stars is for the staff because they were great.

The mall this place is in is a dump. There is a Mexican restaurant next door. I mention this because there is the crab/seafood menu and then there is an extensive Mexican food menu as well. I wonder if they just get the Mexican food from the restaurant next door? I don't know, nothing wrong in that. The tables have a paper "tablecloth" on them with plastic utensils. The reason for this is they don't use plates. They just bring you your seasoned seafood in a double plastic bag, and it is dumped out onto the paper "tablecloth". I saw this happening at the only other occupied table and immediately lost my appetite. My wife, undeterred, ordered some mussels. Ordinarily, we'll also order vegetables with any meal, but the side servings of vegetables are priced like filet mignon. I asked if I ordered the chips & guacamole, did it come with a serving of salsa? Alas, our server said no. What does a tiny amount of salsa cost a restaurant? 50 cents? So, I stuck with a glass of water. I was done. I couldn't bring myself to eat here. My wife ate a few of the mussels, digging them out from the plastic bags with her plastic fork. She said they were "ok" but we paid and departed, after a very poor experience. No pictures because I wasn't in the mood.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.

I felt like I was running into servers and dead ends both times I had to walk through the restaurant. Our food came out no more than 5 minutes after ordering it on a very busy Saturday night which was a little bizarre. Don't get me wrong it's definitely nice to not have to wait for a long time, but we had literally just been given our chips and salsa appetizer so it felt rushed. And to that point, to charge for chips and salsa when every other restaurant on earth gives them for free, I want them to be the best I've ever had, and although the chips were warm, neither the chips or salsa tasted particularly homemade or great. I'm a big mole fan and maybe this is just preference, but the mole here had way way way more of a smoky taste when I was hoping for more of that sweetness. It wasn't my favorite mole I've ever had. The highlights of the night food wise were the esquite corn and the fresh chopped salad. The biggest blunder of the night happened as we were close to finishing our meal (thank god). A woman came over the to the table next to us, sprayed a bottle labeled "sanitizer" all over the table 2 feet away from us, and the breeze or fan from the outside seating literally wafted all of the sanitizing spray onto our bodies and our food. Like I legit felt spray land on my arm, my mom on her leg, and onto our table filled with food. We were shocked, why wouldn't you spray CHEMICALS into the dish rag you're about to wipe with, rather than in the direction of two people EATING 2 feet away? The woman just said "sorry!" and ran away.... We had plenty of leftovers on the table, but we opted not to bring home the dish that was closest to the other table as we're pretty sure there was cleaning solution on it. Even taking a sip of water, we had it in our minds that it started to taste weird. Very very strange experience.
