This review is really a 4.5 based solely on the food. I am updating my review because Hashi probably has the best sushi I have had thus far in this area and deserves an upgrade. We stop by regularly. The sushi is always fresh and well done. Today we had the Chefs choice sashimi, which was excellent. The hamachi carpaccio with lemon slices was absolutely amazing. I also really enjoyed my Burning Sun roll. All solid choices. I will definitely order the carpaccio next time we come back. The vibe in the restaurant itself is a little underwhelming so takeout might be the best option if you are wanting to dine out. My suggestion to the restaurant is to improve the menu and consider offering a daily or weekly special roll. With the menu, I always have a hard time figuring out what everything is. I'm not sure why it's more difficult than other sushi restaurants but somehow it is. Also maybe add some music or something instead of the TVs read more

Friendly vibe as soon as I walked in, staff were warm and laughing, which was a wonderful vibe. Awesome customer service and willingness to adapt to personal taste! Miso soup was tasty. Would have loved a larger portion. The sunomono salad was good. I would have preferred not shredded but still fine. Had shrimp on it. I would have preferred crab. I love ginger dressing so tried the house salad as well. The dressing was a bit thick and sweet for my taste. Both salads are priced a bit high for small side salads but still good. Ended with the Sashimi Combo A (9 pieces). They were kind enough to modify this which I super appreciated. It was served on a very small plate which made for a deceptive portion. Cuts were a bit small but dish was actually portioned well for the price. I would have suggested a different plating and spaced the sashimi out with more accents of daikon and mint leaf for a more impressive presentation. Overall a good stop. Custumer service was great. Prices a bit high for some of the side dishes and rolls. read more

Decided we wanted sushi but didn't want to deal with the traffic to go to our regular spot so we ventured out to try Hashi. Located in a mini mall area, it's small but cute and we are willing to try something new and different. Appetizers were smaller than we are used to. Sashimi was good but we've had larger portions for the price paid. Simple rolls were also overpriced but still tasty Glad we got an opportunity to give them a try. read more

I was eager and excited to try out this spot as the reviews scream "TRY HASHI SUSHI". However, I was INSANELY disappointed and honestly, embarrassed for the restaurant when I received my order (I ordered delivery). The sashimi I ordered was just fine, albeit nothing over the top spectacular and for $40 (for 2 orders), you'd expect something far tastier than what I experienced. The salmon skin hand rolls I ordered were an ABSOLUTE JOKE. These HANDROLLS (that literally were .2 ounces in weight) cost $9 and consisted of salmon DUST and bonito flakes and some spicy seasoning to probably mask the flavor of the rancid salmon skin they use. The salmon skin dust, bonito flake, spicy seasoning mixture was like 20% salmon dust, 70% bonito flakes and 10% spicy seasoning. Truly the WORST "salmon skin" HANDROLLS I have ever had in my entire life. I actually got angry knowing how much I spent on this dinner to literally be given this trash. Oh and the portion sizes were minuscule as well, but I also wouldn't have wanted bigger portions of this specific "salmon skin". Obviously I will NEVER make the mistake of eating Hashi Sushi again. Came here for dinner with a group for the first time while on vacation. Service was good, we didn't have to wait that long from ordering to receiving our food. Food was good overall. Don't have any complaints on the sushi. Sushi is farm raised and not freshly catch. Would recommend this sushi spot for desert location. read more

We are incredibly loyal Hashi fans and enjoy their sushi about once a month! Even our toddler loves it. We love always get their udon, shrimp shumai, rainbow roll, tropic roll and then California roll and avocado roll for our daughter. Everything is always fresh and delicious! read more

Hashi Sushi, what a great experience. Don't let being in a random strip mall in north Scottsdale fool you, this place is putting out some amazing sushi. They made the inside look and feel like you're not in said strip mall. Staff was super friendly and answered a couple questions on the menu. I enjoy they have many seats available to watch the sushi being prepped. Also have some foreign beer options which is a fun touch. We started with the steamed gyoza, these weren't my favorite the outer edges were a little hard. Wish we would've tried the fried. The sushi was the star of the show, as it should at a sushi place. We tried 3 rolls, the oasis, tropic, and Samurai. All 3 were very good but I think the Oasis was our favorite, such a fresh taste, the tropic was very good the sweet mango was nice to go with the crab mix, and the Samurai was great the top seared salmon gave it a nice smoky flavor. Shout out Yelp for helping my family and I discover this amazing sushi spot in Scottsdale! We had a reservation for 5 people on a Saturday night and were seated right away. Hashi is a pretty simple restaurant, but it's very clean and quaint, and our server was extremely attentive. We started with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, garlic edamame, and seaweed salad. The garlic edamame was a game changer!! I loved the garlicky, soy sauce coating, and a nice change up from the standard lightly salted style I'm used to. I love seaweed salad, and the one here is held up to others I've had in the past. Refreshing with a nice crunch! We ordered so many rolls and we were all truly impressed from start to finish. I can't remember the names of all of them (my dad did the ordering) but some favorites include the Mr. Perfect, OMG, and tuna nigiri. We're still talking three days later about how tasty this sushi was, if that tells ya anything! This place is only small, with a very low key atmosphere. Nothing fancy but everything is definitely authentic. Five of us booked in a Saturday night reservation and were say in the back in a spacious booth/table. A server quickly greeted us with waters, and we put in an order for a bottle of sauv blanc to share. I always find it funny how intensely they card in AZ, but I guess we're looking 21 so no complaints, ha! The wine was crispy, cold and tasty. Along with drinks came a few order of garlic edamame and seaweed salad, which were great starters. Our friend - who's the sushi pro - ordered a whole bunch for rolls for the table, so I sadly can't recommend one's by name, but let me tell ya, they were all a win! Ordered pickup via grubhub... initially says 15-25mins, great my husband goes to pick it up... then my app says 45 minutes... i think fine he'll wait, but then my husband gets there after 30 mins and the lady tells him they haven't even started to make it and it will take an hour!!! so a total of 1 hour and 25 minutes for a pick up order that was supposed to take 15-25 mins!! we love sushi but it wasn't like a crazy order! we used to like going to blu sushi but we will not be trying their new place. try Nori sushi, Sushi crush or just get sprouts sushi! read more

Came here for the first time with my husband and we had a wonderful dinner! We came in around 645 Friday night and the place was quite packed. We got one of the last open tables, the staff and chefs behind the bar were very friendly. The steamed gyoza and sake were great starters. The sushi was so flavorful and fresh.
