It's tough to get a res here, and I'm already trying to get another one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is intimate but casual, and it's definitely the best Italian food I've ever had.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, but the tiramisu was what changed everything for me! That tiramisu blew my mind, I'd go back just for that.

My husband and I recently visited Tonino for my birthday and enjoyed it so much. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is very cozy and the staff makes you feel like family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with the pizza bianca which was yummy. I went with the famous Taleggio Cappelletti. It was absolutely delicious, I only wish it was double the size, and was drowning in more of that incredible aged balsamic. My husband went with the Cavatelli. The flavors were wonderful but the pasta was just a little too al dente for him, and I agreed. He wished he had what I had. For dessert we had the tiramisu and it was beyond words. SO sinfully spectacular. I would recommend Tonino to anyone.

Tonino is such a gem in JP -- everything about the experience just hits. The pizza was delicious, and definitely don't skip the dips -- even with a red pie. They take the crust to another level and make sure nothing goes to waste. I also had the clams and bucatini with anchovy chili butter, and it was absolutely to die for -- rich, flavorful, and one of those dishes you keep thinking about after the meal ends. The cocktails and the wine selection is great. I had the house spritz and it was refreshing and a beautiful digression from an Aperol spritz. The service was impeccable -- super personable and attentive without ever feeling over the top. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the vibe? Perfect. Great music, intimate energy, and a fun atmosphere that makes a small space feel just right.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Easily one of my favorite spots in JP right now. Can't wait to come back.

The food was amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Excellent vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers cared and attentive.i would definitely come back again if I can score a reservation.

This tiny little spot seems beloved by the locals in JP, so much so that we couldn't snag a reservation while we were in town. However, they do have a limited takeout menu that is stacked with some of the tastiest pizza around. These tall, airy focaccia pies are dreamy carb-lovers' delights. I was sure I'd love the hot honey and pepperoni combination the best, or the eggplant and ricotta one, but it was the simplicity of the margherita (and the richness of the cheese) that took the top honors. We ordered and enjoyed all three, along with the excellent Trevisano salad (chicory, parsley, pickled cipollini onions, pecorino romano, garlic butter breadcrumbs, red wine vinaigrette). We also got the pizza bianca, which is just their house bread with dips, and here is where I have a bone to pick with Tonino. Please, allow people to purchase all the dips with your bread (or without it)! We were only able to choose one on the website, and I was said I didn't get to try all three, especially with the pizza crusts we had left over. Can't wait to come in for a full dinner.

This has to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the greater Boston area! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small, cozy restaurant, which happens to be my favorite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were all so sweet and made it such a great experience. We started with the ricotta and hot honey pizza bianca, which we loved. For mains we ordered the taleggio cappelleti and rigatoni amatriciana. The cappelleti was a little bit too heavy for my taste, but the rigatoni was amazing. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. We will definitely be back!

Tonino is the cutest little Italian spot tucked away in JP. Here's the top two things you need to know: 1. You will 100% need a reservation if you want to eat here, and it isn't going to be easy to get 2. It's so worth it. In a city full of stellar Italian food, it easily holds its own To get a res here, you're going to have to log on at noon 30 days in advance when they open up. That's what my husband and I did but unfortunately we weren't logged in when we were booking. In the 2 minutes it took us to navigate to the login and back, the only reservation left was at 9:45pm, so that's what we got! Even at a later time, the place was 100% full when we arrived. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is tiny, but super cozy and romantic, with a handful of tables and an open kitchen in the back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated at the two-top chef's counter, which is usually the only table reserved for walk-ins, but felt like we were getting the VIP treatment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drink menu is small, but super well curated. I had an Etna Rosso that I loved, and my husband went with the La Canzone cocktail, which was similar to a negroni and super tasty. Our server was so attentive and gave us some great tips on the menu. With how hard it is to get into this place, we decided to try a lot and pack up the leftovers at the end. Our favorites were the Pizza Bianca with Stracciatella, the Mortadella, and the Taleggio Cappelletti. The Taleggio Cappelletti is all over Tiktok and IG in Boston, and now I know why. The cheese is so creamy and just a little bit funky, while the pasta was clearly homemade and cooked perfectly. I almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want Tonino getting any busier than it is, but they earned it. Can't wait to find my way back here again someday!

Food is amazing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a tiny spot that gets very busy, so definitely make a reservation if you can.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a bit frustrating to get one -- we were on the waitlist for months, and whenever a spot opened up, it would get booked almost instantly. We eventually decided to just walk in and got really lucky. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ended up with great seats toward the back, at a bar-style island near the kitchen -- much better than being squeezed between other tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I fell in love with the bread and Brie spread; I even order it for takeout now as a snack. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love this place in the heart of JP -- they should absolutely expand![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This spot truly lived up to the hype!! Had a lovely anniversary celebration here. The menu isn't too extensive or fancy, but it's absolutely delicious. The wine list is nice too because they list out all the tasting notes for each wine which is helpful. We tried the pepperoni pizza and the taleggio cappelleti & rigatoni amatriciana pastas. Tiramisu for dessert was classic and a pretty big portion. Everything was so good and I have no notes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes were simple, cozy, and intimate[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and our server was very attentive, and even brought over the ricotta & hot honey dip for us to try with our pizza, which was so delicious!! We took the rest of it home and devoured it as a midnight snack.

This spot is hard to get a reservation for, but well worth the wait. We finally got the chance to come to Tonino after living in JP for a year and a half. This restaurant is what JP needs... an elegant and elevated dining experience. We tried each of their white wines and were absolutely in love. Our salads and pastas were delicious. We especially loved the tomato salad -- it was a fresh and bright summer salad that was well balanced and delicious. The anchovy pasta was also super yummy! We will definitely be back for our next special occasion. Highly recommend to any and all Bostonians!

I felt like I had to BATTLE for a reservation for two on a Friday night--went to Resy 30 days in advance, tried for 6:30, somebody had taken that slot, so grabbed the 8:30pm time. Because it was so late, my boyfriend and I got some drinks and apps beforehand elsewhere and then did dinner and dessert at Tonino. The staff were really friendly, upbeat, and fun! They did a great job looking out for us and giving us advice on what to order. The restaurant is pretty TINY but has kind of an elegant, dimly-lit, cozy feel. I got this fabulous Italian clementine soda, so yummy!! We also got the rigatoni amatriciana and the lumanche. Then, we closed with the tiramisu. LOVED everything we got, but I think the lumanche was the star. I'd definitely come back if I could get a reservation!!

Finally got a reservation and it was 100% worth the wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the service, to the soundtrack, to the food the entire vibe of Tonino is just fantastic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]For a restaurant that's so hard to get into you almost expect it to be a little stuffy but it was the complete opposite. It has the feel of a cozy neighborhood joint with the most helpful friendly wait staff[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The menu may be small but it is sublime. We started with the pizza binaca with the stracciatella/balsamic/tomato/basil dip. Perfection. The focaccia was soft and crunchy and the dip was decadent! We also were there on a night the chef made his meatball - a don't miss if they're on special. So soft they melt in your mouth. We also ordered the green salad with its bread crumb topping and mustard vinaigrette - delicious. We split two pastas: the anchovy butter bucatini and the taleggio cappeletti. Both were perfection BUT the cappeletti was hands down one of the best bites I've ever eaten. Chewy, creamy, funky and a hint of sweetness - I'll be counting the days until I have them again! We ended the night sharing a piece of cheesecake - apparently the chef's grandmother recipe. I've never had such a light cheesecake- and the fennel pollen and drizzle of olive oil added such a nice flavor. Truly I wanted to come home and immediately make another reservation for next month.

I returned here for a last minute dinner last night and it was delicious and made up for my previous visit in whole! The service is amazing and being seated at the bar even got me extra attention it appeared. I was in between two dishes and the waitress was kind enough to bring me a small sample of the dish I did not end up trying (the cappeletti). That gesture did cannot go unpraised by me, as it meant a lot! It also introduced me to my new favorite dish. Last time I was here, I was very underwhelmed but the two pasta dishes I got this time were amazing!

How possible is it to get a reservation here? I've been on the waiting list for months through the Resy notification system.

TAKEOUT review * My…read moredaughter's friend recommended this place. Easy to order online. Keep in mind they are tapas so the quantity is smaller than an entree. There were 6 of us and we ordered 6 things, and fortunately we weren't ravenously hungry because otherwise we might've needed at least 3 more. We ordered mushroom salad, pad paa (a scrumptious concoction of veggies in sauce that comes with jasmine rice), crab fried rice, roasted brussel sprouts, grilled pork cheek, chicken ka praw. The order was ready for pickup within 30 minutes (which is what it predicted online). The food was freshly made, hot, ready to go at 8 p.m. and the staff were friendly and helpful. It looked like the customers there were having a fun time. We all really enjoyed every bite, particularly the pad paa with jasmine rice. It ended up being enough food for us as well.

We had a great experience at Mahaniyom. The service was excellent, and one thing I really…read moreappreciated was that the food wasn't overly salty or under-seasoned--it was well balanced. The fried chicken skin was a standout. The crispy skin paired perfectly with a cold beer. The Pad Thai was also delicious, the Brussels sprouts were wonderfully crispy with a simple but flavorful seasoning, and the beef Massaman curry was rich and comforting--I'd definitely recommend ordering a bowl of rice to go with it. The pork cheek was incredibly tender and very filling. Not every dish was a hit, though. The crab fried rice was a bit disappointing. It was essentially regular fried rice with just a few pieces of crab sprinkled on top, so it didn't feel worth ordering. The crab curry was also a letdown. If you do order it, I'd recommend having it with rice instead of the rice noodles, as I think that would make it more enjoyable. Overall, the quality of the food and the excellent service made for a very enjoyable meal, and I'd happily come back to try more dishes.

Overall, everything tasted great (esp the fried chicken and home fries) and the portions were massive to just right. If there were a few kinks to iron out, I'd say that the beignets weren't really airy and some of the mushroom stems in the omelette were really tough and should've been discarded before cooking. Next for dinner: their fried chicken dinner which came with Mac and cheese, collard greens/broccolini, cornbread, and the tempura hake, and a side of cornbread with pecan butter. That pecan butter was delicious, we definitely asked for more. The fried chicken dinner was also amazing, every single dish in it. The hake while crispy, didn't have enough salt. The server fixed it immediately with a side of garlic aioli and that was great. If I could make a suggestion, I would say they should swap out the celery root slaw for something that goes better with the fish. Service was excellent both times. Very friendly and accommodating, always asking if we enjoyed our meal and they were quick to make things right if we had requests. Ambiance is really nice, very warm, inviting, perfect for a sit down meal. Apart from a few kinks in their dishes (which I'm sure they can resolve), I'd give them 5 stars.

This review falls somewhere between 3 1/2 to 4 stars…read more Ever since I heard about Don't Tell Aunty opening up last year I've been itching to get in and try it, especially as someone who loves Indian cuisine and someone who is often intrigued by fusion concepts and modern twists on classic dishes. We finally decided to go for a mid afternoon meal on a Saturday in the beginning of June. We looked at the menu online ahead of time to refresh our memories on their offerings, and the food was listed all together in a section called "all day menu". We had some dishes in mind that we wanted to try, namely the tikka tots, the mirchi bhajji and the rasam ramen. Unfortunately none of these items were on the menu when we went in. I realized that they have separate menus for lunch and dinner with the lunch menu being more limited, which I know lots of restaurants do. Nevertheless we were still excited to try the food there. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. Beautiful design, very comfortable and the music was a vibe. Contrary to some of the other reviews here saying that the service was aloof and lackluster, we found that it was prompt and down to earth. We opted for some Indian beers over cocktails. For food we decided on some curry dishes. Boyfriend ended up with paneer butter masala, I had Goan fish curry and we split some garlic naan. The guy did warn ahead of time that the fish curry was a naturally spicy dish, to which I stated that I was totally cool with that since I love the spicier dishes. Boyfriend asked for his butter masala to be extra hot. The presentation of the entrees is absolutely stunning. The rice was fluffy and the curry hit all the flavor notes as it was a little sweet, a little spicy and a little tangy. In hindsight I think I should've asked them to make it a tad spicier for me, but the flavor was definitely there and it was a pretty solid, filling dish. Boyfriend really enjoyed his butter masala, saying that they delivered on his request for extra heat. The bread wasn't bad, though the portion is rather small and it kind of reminded me of the packaged naan bread you can get at the grocery store. Overall it was a good experience at Don't Tell Aunty. I did see on the website that they were making changes to the menu, so I look forward to seeing what else they can do.
