The pastries are great, the blueberry crumble warmed up was perfect and the coconut crème pie had a ton of coconut and a good crust. The two times we were here we had a burger, patty melt, the breakfast potatoes (definitely need to add eggs to this, I didn't realize it was just the loaded potatoes but they were still tasty just could've used eggs to go with it) and the fish and chicken basket with onion rings. All generous portions and came out hot. It's an order at the counter type restaurant which we didn't expect but everything moved quickly. Only complaint is to have a few physical versions of the menu because it's hard to read the board while you're in line and then don't want to hold people up when you get to the front and can see it. read more

Okay, Tonis is a staple for those of us that stay up and get hungry past 10pm. There aren't a bunch of places to go grab some good comfort food in this area at all so I like the fact Tonis is 24/7. Thank God or if be eating at Tacky smell any time I got hungry past prime time. I recommend breakfast and a shake. Or ..I can always go for a burger n fries. Did you say dessert? My goat. I go here for date nights all the time with my partner, lots of seating, nice and personable cashiers, and good food. I typically order the chef salad, side of fries, a drink, and then a desert to go. Their salads are huge and compared to other local restaurants, cheaper especially including the pure volume they give you, very filling. Awesome pastries and selection, I love their pecan sticky buns. Their burgers are just okay and their chicken strips/nuggets aren't very flavorful, but you can't be good at everything I guess. Avoid. Came in off of Google reviews only to be met with one of my worst experiences in Arcata. Got there at 5:30 and it was relatively slow, ordered my food and proceeded to wait over 40 minutes fornthe food, meanwhile people who came after me and physically ordered left much sooner than me. All good I let it go because I was willing to wait for good food, except the food was far from good. The burgers were sloppily thrown together and the sides were just bad. Attached below is the picture of the onion rings they decided to serve me after waiting over 40 minutes for food when the place was slow. Avoid this place, take your money somewhere else. Decided to try this place for breakfast based on a recommendation from a friend. As others have recommended, check out their menu online beforehand because you order and pay at the front counter once you walk in. It's open seating, so you find a table after you order. They will call your name and bring your food to you. We ordered the ham and cheese omelet and chicken and waffles. Both were good. The gravy that came with the chicken and waffles was delicious. Their coffee was good too. Overall a good experience. The lady taking orders wasn't too friendly, unless you're a regular. She was pretty ubrupt. She had no patience for first timers. We still LOVE Toni's so much. There is something for everyone here. They offered to give us extra whipped cream for the pancakes when they noticed it had melted on the top and that it was for our toddler. The service is amazing and it feels like they all really care. She's always sarcastic and seems annoyed that she's even at work. Toni's holds a very nostalgic part in my heart. Visited Eugene back in March, spent most of the day hiking and exploring the brisk coastline. I def did not except to be that cold in Cali. For dinner ALLLLL I wanted was warm comfort food. And WOW did Toni's deliver! My hubby and I were so impressed how long this restaurant has been in business, and how huge their menu is, 24/7!!! I treated myself to a grilled cheese with tomatoe (perfection), a house salad (super fresh!) and carrot cake (oh. my. word). Why am I writing this review months later? 'Cuz I was day dreaming of that carrot cake haha! My husband got some soup and a pattimelt, and he repeatedly has said that was the best sandwich he ever had. All walks of life visited Toni's - senior citizens there to share a dessert, young kids hanging out and snacking, blue collar workers grabbing a late night meal after a hard day at work. So today I stopped here to eat a quick lunch between doctor appointments, I ordered my food with my Daughter and when they brought my food out, I immediately noticed the fries were small in my opinion so when I inquired, she said that was a large I was pretty surprised and then I read the receipt that was on the tray with my food.....I see "todo al lado - sorry :(" I thought to myself what are they? Sorry for so I looked up the translation and it means everything on the side. So the cashier isorry because I'm asking for everything on the side, seems pretty insulting to me. We came here on our last night visiting Redwoods NP. We thought it would be a diner... it was more like a Burger King with pretty pies. You have to order up at the front in a line of 10 other unsuspecting travelers... standing around in the cold bright light squinting at a menu over everyone's head. No service other than that. The rest of the place was dirty and poorly kept with puddles on the floor where someone had spilled and no one had cleaned. Tables were coated in a thin layer of grease and crumbs as no one came to clear the tables after folks left. So really, just a fast food joint with ~2-3x prices! I ordered a Chilli cheese burger. My wife got a ham and cheese sandwich and my son got the chicken strip basket. The burger was very disappointing. Tiny amd flavorless. The Chilli was okay, but more like a hotdog Chilli sauce than a real homemade Chilli for a rich burger. The patty was tiny... like 1/6lb. Literally it was as thin as the slice of cheese! The chicken strips were good, probably the best deal, though my son didn't like them. The breading was more like shake and bake than a real flour dredge... it was no doubt from a bag. My wife hated her sandwich. It was flimsy, greasy, and had ~1.5 slices of deli ham on it. I think you'd get more ham in a lunch lunchables meal. And probably the same quality. When u come up to work in this area, I enjoy eating here. Great hole in the wall diner that is always busy! That's how you know the food is good.
