So, 10pm comes and goes last night and I realized that I haven't eaten, and its time to order something. Make a long story short, I called "Uncle Tony's" which just recently opened down in Johnston. "I'm sorry sir but we close at 10pm" No big deal, I called at 10:03pm and even if I called 10 minutes earlier, I wouldn't want to be "that guy" keeping the kitchen working. So I figured I would call Tony's just to see what time they close. Sure enough, when I called at 10:10pm, they said they closed at 10pm, however, they followed it up with a "well we are still here, we can make you whatever you want, its no problem at all." I initially declined just because I felt bad, but the guy I spoke with was very persistent, with his little old timer accent, love it... "No no no please listen, you are our customer, we want you to eat, I wanna make-a something for you please tell-a me whatta you want." At this point I"m dying laughing but at the same time, in awe and impressed that this person is this passionate and persistent about making me some food. So I ordered a large cheese pepperoni and mushroom and went to go pick it up. Thanked them up and down a wall, and when I tried to give them a nice tip for doing this for me, they even denied that! There were two people, a woman (who I think it is her family's place) and the cook who had the Mario and Luigi mustache lol. Both of them, saying "no no no please no tip no no its ok please no" So I left it on the counter and told them that if they don't want it, they can put it in the little charity can that they had next to the register. I want to give this place more business. As for the pizza, it was delicious. Nice and well done like I asked, good amount of toppings. Better than most pizzas i've had to say the least. read more

After my fifth straight pizza delivery from them, I owe a yelp review since that's where I found them. Have lived in Georgiaville for almost 4 years and this is the best pizza if you don't want a chain. Delicious every time. So happy to have quality pizza available for delivery. read more

This place is delicious and very reasonably priced. We tried it for the first time last week and already ordered take out less than one week later. Some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. From the crust to the sauce, they do it right. Great flavor and the crust has just enough crunch. We ordered large fries and a Caesar salad with dinner as well. The fries were very good and a large order is enough for an entire table or family. Order a small if you only have two people. Caesar dressing tasted homemade, loved it. In fact everything tasted very fresh. We will be going back here on a regular basis. read more

I like this pizza a lot, but when I walk in, it feels like everyone gives you the "You aren't from Smithfield" look. I do think this is probably the best pizza in Smithfield, though. It's good ol' pan pizza, not the thick kind, but it's got the right amount of sauce, cheese and little bit of char to the crust, which is just the right amount of crispy. read more

Short review warning; Had a pepperoni pizza delivered. Crust may have been crispier fresh, but it was very good. Rest of the experience was also right on. I had written a bad review about this place but somehow it got taken down. This place had more bad reviews but they were taken down as well. Listen, I was eating here 13 years ago. The food was great. The last few years, the food has sucked. Inconsistent. I haven't ordered from here in 8 months because of a bad experience. Decided to give it another go last night. Total mistake. Food was just awful. I'd like to explain but it would take too long. You should never serve food to someone that you wouldn't eat yourself. Tony's, let's start by not putting brown lettuce on Italian grinders. Lettuce should be green. Pizza was soggy on the bottom. I'll tell you, this place sucks now. May have been an off night but the grinders we ordered to go were not very good. I ordered the veal sub, supposedly served with sauce and provolone. The sauce was barely there, the veal left a bitter after taste. Perhaps the fryer oil needed a change? Not likely to visit again. read more

Let me tell you a story about the worst restaurant on this side of the equator. Me and my friends order 3 pizzas (I pay over the phone because we don't have cash) while watching college football playoffs. Your probably thinking, "gunna be a great night!". Wrong. This turned into the worst night of my life pretty quickly. The worker I spoke with on the phone asked me my address maybe 8 times, while I continuously repeated the address. Then he said it would be about 25 minutes to get delivered. An hour goes by and the pizza still has not arrived so I said to my friends "I'll call and see where it is". I call the restaurant back and I get the same worker on the phone, I say "I ordered about 25 minutes ago and it's been an hour so I'm just wondering where my food is", the worker responds, "oh we never wrote your address down so we haven't put your order in yet". I'm thinking to myself this guys an idiot, but I ask my friends what we should do and then say "you can cancel the order we'll get food elsewhere". Me and my friends then go get Chipotle (where they have a competent staff and an even better product). Your probably thinking the story should be over now, wrong again. I get a call maybe an hour later (from the same worker I now have spoke to 3 times) and he says "I have your pizza and I'm just checking where I should I drop it off". I look at my friends in utter confusion and then say "what'd you mean I cancelled the order when I spoke to you an hour ago". He now says "oh did you, sorry there must've been a misunderstanding". I say "it's fine am I gunna get charged for this". The worker says, "no you won't get charged". Your probably thinking once again this is the end of the story, you'd be incorrect. My card gets charged, so I call the next day to get my money back. Speaking to the manager I explain what I just explained here. The manager then says "that's not at all what happened, our driver said when you called back you said you still wanted the pizza and then when he dropped it off you harassed him throwing toilet paper at him". I'm generally a very calm and intellectual guy, but I lost my damn mind. First off, the reason I didn't get my pizza was because he didn't have my address, so how would he have ever encountered us to get toilet paper thrown at him (the answer is he didn't). The manager and me then come to an understanding that they'll put the money back on my card. End of story? Nope. A week or so later I'm still without my $50, so I call back again. This time I get a different manager, we get into an argument talking about throwing toilet paper at the driver (I wish I did with all the time I've wasted talking to these people) and she finally says "okay I'll get your money back tomorrow". Is the driver a pathological liar? Probably. Are the managers at this place just protecting what they think happened to their driver? Yes, but still no sane human could hear what I just explained and then continuously argue with me about throwing toilet paper at their driver. (Side note: has anyone over the age of 10 ever used toilet paper as a weapon, if someone threw toilet paper at me I'd just say "what are you doing man" and then continue on with my day, I certainly wouldn't act like I'm now scarred for life because of something so insignificant). If you have any respect for what I've had to deal with, stand in solidarity with me and never order from this establishment again. read more

Since moving to the area we've had take out from here twice. The first was pizza- which was average to good and the second was a grinder and spinach pie. I believe the dough is homeade and is good (I personnally would add a bit more salt to make it pop). My spinach pie had pros and cons...the dough again tasted fresh but the inside spinach wasn't salted enough and my added topping of sundried tomatoes came with huge, tougher rounds of sundried tomato that I ended up just taking out. Overall I was happy that the spinach pie wasn't overly greasy and I just added my own salt (no...I'm not a salt addict :)) We will probably order again. My husband who is more of the pizza person was happy with both the pizza and hamburger sub he received. read more
