If you get a large pizza, it's certainly enough for a few people! The staff here is amazing as well, especially their social media team! They're very sassy, friendly, and always open to criticism. My first time trying Jacks and they went ham on the cheese, to the point it was a sloppy mess. Jacks listened and they did much better the next time! Been ordering here for a hot minute now and will continue to do so! I hope they stick around for DECADES to come! Great local pizza spot !!!

Last year, I walked into Jack's Irish and Italian Pizza Pub in Smithfield and walked out with a…read morestory about a pizza that couldn't decide what it wanted to be. The bottom crust burned hard while the top stayed pale and raw. Cheese pooled like weather patterns. Oil slicked everything. The pepperoni cups gave up on life halfway through cooking. I wrote what I saw. I posted it. I moved on. Then Jack's did something that matters more than producing a perfect pizza on the first try. They didn't get defensive. They didn't make excuses. They just invited me back to see what they're really about. "It was just a tough pie day," I told them. Because that's the truth. Every kitchen has them. Consistency is the hobgoblin of many restaurants, particularly the ones that are trying to get their footing set. Today we walked back in, genuinely hoping for a redemption story. Sometimes hope gets you disappointed. Sometimes it gets you vindicated. The pizza that arrived today looked nothing like last year's disaster. Thicker crust, doughy in that substantial way that makes for a chewy, satisfying experience. It had weight. Structure. The kind of foundation that holds up under scrutiny. The first bite told the whole story. Crunchy on the outside, chewy through the middle, with this unexpected toasted sesame oil flavor happening in the crust that sets it apart from every other bar pizza in Rhode Island. The sauce showed up this time, savory and well-balanced, working with high-quality cheese instead of drowning under it. This wasn't some fluke of good luck. This was a really competent pizza made by people who've figured out their recipe and their oven. The service matched the food. Friendly without being intrusive, attentive without hovering, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to stay for another beer. The room still has that Bryant Bulldog bar aesthetic working. Reclaimed wood, industrial lights, butcher block tables, sports stories on the walls. It knows what it is. A neighborhood spot where you watch the game, catch up with friends, and eat pizza that holds its own. If I lived nearby, I'd be here regularly. That's not something I say often after writing a critical first review. But Jack's earned it the hard way, by taking feedback seriously and proving they can deliver when it counts. Last year's pizza was a problem. This year's pizza is the solution. Sometimes the story worth telling isn't about perfection on the first attempt. It's about showing up better the second time.

We started with the Chicken Marsala Stuffed Mushrooms, which were packed with rich, savory flavor. Our server, David, made the night even better. He was attentive, upbeat, and genuinely kind; an overall great spirit with a fantastic attitude who elevated the entire dining experience. David even brought us some of their popcorn, which was so delicious and such a fun extra touch. We loved the food, we loved the service, and we will definitely be back; highly recommend.

RI Food Fight- Lord of the Pies 2024 Review:…read more What a great concept. The paring of pizza and ice cream? Mind blow. The execution? Not so much. Slice: Burnt crust (I don't like that) and was there sauce on the pizza? Dry Scoop: I had the chocolate peanut butter. It was good but I would suggest getting some interesting flavors! It was nifty how they opted to have two stores in one. That's right folks, you don't have to wait in the pizza line if you just want ice cream (and vice versa!) If you have a teen daughter, they will like the handsome young men working here (when we walked in there were some groupies on a Saturday night.) It was a clean establishment, upbeat, young, fresh vibe but I just want better pizza.

Modern, clean lines, industrial…read morelighting, sports on flat-screens - they've nailed the look that makes marketing teams happy and Instagram influencers reach for their phones. Hell, even I want to take pictures of the place. The pizza shows promise at first glance. Those pepperoni cups curl up just right, crispy and inviting. But that's where the romance ends. The crust is just... there. The sauce might as well be a rumor. And the cheese? It does its job with all the enthusiasm of a Monday morning DMV worker. Look, it's not bad pizza. When you're hungry, it'll do the job. But it's the kind of slice that makes you understand why New Yorkers get so defensive about their pies. It's food designed by focus groups, served in a room that looks like it was decorated by an algorithm. The ice cream side of the operation might be their saving grace - those scoops look like they could offer some real comfort on a hot day. Maybe we'll give that a shot when summer rolls around. For now, it's exactly what it looks like: a perfectly fine, totally forgettable slice shop that's as middle-of-the-road as a highway divider. Think Papa Gino's on a "C+" day.

Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Bistro is upscale in the best way. Dark wood, brick floors, pendant lights over a small bar. The lights are dim but the room is inviting and intimate. When we arrived, it wasn't empty, wasn't slammed. Nothing felt rushed. Everything moved at the right pace, giving us time to talk, time to savor, time to just enjoy being there. Even after we paid, no one hurried us out. The room was filling up around us, but we never felt it. Fresh plates for every course. Water refilled when it emptied (not before we noticed, exactly when). Every time we said thank you, our server said "of course" like she truly meant it. The focaccia came out warm. Tear it open and you see irregular holes. That takes hours, not shortcuts. They bring whipped garlic butter because it spreads easier, but the bread's good enough alone. Four meatballs arrived, tender enough they fell apart as I tried to work them through the sauce. Took surgeon hands. Pool the red sauce on your plate or spoon some over the top of each bite. Without it, they're bland. With it, they're quite good. The pepperoni pizza came out right. Char on the crust, pepperoni curling into little grease cups, cheese stretching six inches on those first bites. The sauce is light. The crust ends taste a little like char and semolina. I'm a sauce guy. Always have been. This pizza wasn't what I look for, but the people around us all looked happy to be there and with their food. Giuseppe's making the pizza his customers want. Fruit crumble for dessert. Fresh blueberries and peaches, vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed the peach side more than the blueberries, which was unexpected. The peaches were a little less sweet. The blueberries? Really sweet. Fresh and enjoyable. Giuseppe's fills up for a reason. The service is the best I've experienced in months. People were taking their time, talking, enjoying everything that was in front of them. They seemed like they knew they were somewhere special. They got it right.
