Tony's Pizza Palace is a great little restaurant in Smithfield that has been there for years. I enjoy dining- in, there are so many different delicious dishes on their menu to choose from- sometimes it's hard to decide! From their vast selections of pizzas (yes they have kalamata olives and gluten-free), to their full dinners, sides, appetizers (try their hummus and grape leaves-omg so good), to their calzones, burgers, pasta dinners, salads, and fish n chips. They even have dessert and Windsor's ice cream. The service is fantastic from the waiters to the counter and cook staff. Everyone so friendly and always checking to make sure you are enjoying your meal and you don't feel rushed. It is a nice, air-conditioned, little neighborhood place that's always open to eat-in, or try take-out! read more

Growing up in Smithfield, this has been a staple in my family for many years. Now I live in Providence and don't make it here too often. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I were out shopping and were getting hungry, and I suggested Tony's. He has very high standards of food, and always has his list of favorites, and was a bit hesitant since he had never tried it. We decided to order anyway, and he could not stop raving about not only how delicious and fresh everything tasted, but how nice everyone was! He has an allergy, and they went above and beyond to make sure there was no product cross-contamination. It's rare to find such kind, and friendly service. This is a wonderfully cozy, and caring family restaurant. I suggest the Italian grinder, hot. We will definitely be ordering again! read more

Ordered for pick up on a Sunday night and it was quite busy. I was waiting another 10 minutes after the pickup time they had given me. I ordered the sheet pan pepperoni pizza, chicken bacon ranch pizza, mozzarella sticks and Buffalo wings. The pepperoni pizza was just okay, there wasn't enough cheese or pepperoni on it. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was great but I thought it was different that the chicken they used is a breaded chicken--like chicken tenders. I'm new to the area and gave this place two shots. The first I ordered their "weiner special" for delivery - the fries were cold and the weiners were lukewarm and overall it wasn't very good. The second time I ordered I got a buffalo chicken calzone, it was a giant hunk of bread and cheese with two chicken patties (yes the kind you remember from school) and barely had any taste at all. We love Tony's pizza!! My husband and I order from here regularly and the pizza is delicious every time. The staff is always incredibly friendly as soon as you come in, pick up time is always very speedy, they have never mixed up our order, and the prices are great. We personally have only ever done takeout, but they have plenty of seating inside if you are looking for somewhere to eat in. We have tried several pizza spots in the area and this is our go to!! Surprising I usually hate Greek pizza parlors. The pizza has that same boring taste and crust thicker and oddly greasy. This place was much different, first, I am giving this place an extra star because of the decor. It has that 70's look with the stained glass light shades and that cool yellow wall look that makes me feel like I did when I was a kid and my folks would bring the family out to the pizza parlor and get pizzas and order a pitcher of beer. That idea seems to be dead these days. TIP: Eat in and relax We ordered the Tony's Special Pizza and a steak and cheese grinder. The pizza had quality ingredients and cooked well done as we ordered. Not your typical mushy crappy sauced Greek pizza. The steak sandwich was sliced ribeye steak and it was delicious. Ordered food from Grubhub because that is the only way you can order food to be delivered. This place has always been a go-to for us but not anymore. The spinach in the spinach pie was sour and the dough was not cooked all the way through. The hot wieners were over-cooked and the bread was hard. The Italian grinder was drenched in the dressing which made the bread soggy. This has been a family owned restaurant I've enjoyed my entire life. Authentic Greek food with the best pizza around. My go to pizza here is pepperoni and black olives. This place does not even deserve one star. I had one of the worst experiences ordering from here today, May 1, 2017 at 7:54 pm. I called at 6:50 pm and placed a delivery order (my first mistake). I asked the boy who answered the phone for a sub and a greek salad. Sounds simple right? Apparently not. I asked the boy on the phone if his delivery driver would have change for a $100 dollar bill, he then yelled to the delivery driver asking "this girl wants to know if you can make change for a $100" the driver replied, "yes I can bring her change for $100" Loud and clear I heard him. Ok great! My food would be here in 30-40 minutes the boy told me and I went about my laundry. At 7:31 the delivery driver called me that he was here with my food. Ok great, as I headed to let him in he called and said "Oh shit, arent you the girl that asked for the change for 100? they forgot to write it down so I am going to have to leave your food with you and go get you change" I told him I would try to break the bill for him at the store in my lobby but they were unable to give me change for 100 either. So I proceeded to meet the delivery driver as he explained it wasnt my fault he forgot the change but it wasnt his fault either because the "stupid" person that answered my call didnt write it down to remind him. He told me he would be back with change so I could pay him. I headed upstairs and unwrapped my food to find a giant black sub. BLACK? Yes black. Burnt to a crisp, like someone had synched it in fire. I had never seen anything like this before and was in shock that a person with any respect could serve this to someone who was paying for an edible meal. I then found my salad to have no silverwear, napkins, dressing, or even pita bread, which was disappointing but whatever I could deal with it, the sub on the other hand was completely the wrong order and smelt like tuna/fish when I had originally ordered a grilled chicken sub. So anyways, my boyfriend called Tony's and asked to speak to a manager. They connected him to a woman who didn't seem to speak very well of English but seemed nice and told my boyfriend we didnt have to pay for the food, and if we wanted her to send something else out we could. At this point, we settled for leftovers in the fridge because we were too hungry to wait and I ate my salad, but the sub went deep in the trash, where it belonged. About ten minutes later I get a call back from Tony's, the 'manager' says "Uh hi, your delivery driver wants to talk to you" and next thing I know the delivery driver is saying "so now you dont wanna pay for your food! I wrapped that sub your wrong you are lying and trying to get free food, im coming back to pick up the food!" I tried to explain to him his manager had already rectified the problem with my boyfriend but he continued yelling nonsense at me. I cannot believe a manager would allow an angry and out of line employee call a customer to scream at them and call them a liar! This just makes no sense to me. I have to believe there is someone over at Tony's with some sort of a brain that knows this is not acceptable at all. I was really excited to try this place but I dont think I will be coming back anytime soon. :( read more

I give this place a 2 star rating because the pizza was very cheap. The cheese was hard within seconds and the bread got very hard. The Parmesan chicken grinder had frozen chicken and was very soggy instead of being crispy. In the grinder, there was barely cheese in it. There was more bread than anything else. Not even the bread was toasted. I even had to smother my grinder with the tomato sauce. The French fries were giving with a oil filled bag, the French fries were DRENCHED in oil and were UNsalted. This place is literally a 3 minute drive for me which may be the highest thing on the pros side of the list. The staff doesn't smile or make an attempt to be friendly when you are picking up in takeout. The waitstaff hang around the tables of their regulars and are much less attentive to other customers. The food is sub par. My husband isn't crazy about the pizza, I think it's not too bad, crunch crust and different options such as the Mediterranean which I enjoyed. The large pizza is significantly smaller than most larges from other locations. The grinders are okay, I like the demonic I steak grinder and my husband likes the chicken Parmesan grinder. All in all, it's local and convenient, but it would make any top ten lists in this area. read more

I don't leave many reviews because I feel like restaurants need a little break having owned one and worked in one for 15 years. This was the worst food I've ever had and I am lenient so is my husband. His everything hot Italian was not toasted in anyway and banana peppers missing which was supposed to come on it. Caesar salad was served with the dressing on it so by the time it got to me it was soup and I literally made my own and used their chicken. The spinach pie was canned spinach not an ounce of flavor and went in the trash after one bite. The hot weiners were not great but edible once I doused them with mustard. I could definitely call the restaurant but at this point what would they do? Remake it? No thank you. read more

My first and last time...I ordered a pizza with anchovies, when I called the order in i specifically asked if they had anchovies and was told yes. When my order was ready they told me they did not have anchovies so I told them I did not want the pizza. After ordering a Pizza, expecting the price to match their menu on the website. I had to find out that they raised the price on one of their Pizzas by $4 ($13.99 to $17.99)! I also had a little bit of a discussion using one of their coupons! They unfortunately did a great job in not making you feel welcomed at their Restaurant having to argue the obvious discrepancy on their menu prices! They lack proper customer service which is something that will in the long term sink any business. The Pizza was good but the customer service left a bad taste in my mouth. As a lifetime eater of this restaurant, I recommend it to anyone who needs a refresher in what real pizza is. I consider Tony's to be the best in the state, and frankly, Still to date the best Pizza I have ever had *including compared to the ever so overrated new york pizza and other states such as Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Maine* None compare to the tasty sauce * and I HATE tomatoes, but theirs is just too good to hate!* wonderful mix of cheeses, and the crust, their crust has stayed the same crispy delicious golden wonder I have known my whole life. They have a wide range of items, and their calzones, spinach pies and sandwiches are all delicious. Their onions rings are always crispy and just salty enough and the fries are always perfect. I put Tony's Pizza against any, I guarantee, they will come out the winner! The main and only regret, is that the owner of Tony's passed away last year, which came as a shock to me and my family. Gus was a spirit of love and life, always smiling and laughing and causing a loudness. but because of the absence of Gus, the atmosphere is not as loud and fun as it used to be, but is still great. The uniform is a homage to the former owner, donning a caricature of Gus with the words home of the Crazy Greek. It adds a loving family touch to an already very family like atmosphere. So, 10pm comes and goes last night and I realized that I haven't eaten, and its time to order something. Make a long story short, I called "Uncle Tony's" which just recently opened down in Johnston. "I'm sorry sir but we close at 10pm" No big deal, I called at 10:03pm and even if I called 10 minutes earlier, I wouldn't want to be "that guy" keeping the kitchen working. So I figured I would call Tony's just to see what time they close. Sure enough, when I called at 10:10pm, they said they closed at 10pm, however, they followed it up with a "well we are still here, we can make you whatever you want, its no problem at all." I initially declined just because I felt bad, but the guy I spoke with was very persistent, with his little old timer accent, love it... "No no no please listen, you are our customer, we want you to eat, I wanna make-a something for you please tell-a me whatta you want." At this point I"m dying laughing but at the same time, in awe and impressed that this person is this passionate and persistent about making me some food. So I ordered a large cheese pepperoni and mushroom and went to go pick it up. Thanked them up and down a wall, and when I tried to give them a nice tip for doing this for me, they even denied that! There were two people, a woman (who I think it is her family's place) and the cook who had the Mario and Luigi mustache lol. Both of them, saying "no no no please no tip no no its ok please no" So I left it on the counter and told them that if they don't want it, they can put it in the little charity can that they had next to the register.
