A party of 11 is a stretch for the small dining space of this establishment, but they graciously agreed to reserve space for our group, and we are so very glad they did. Every once in awhile, you find a place that makes you wish you lived close enough to eat there often...this is that place. There were so many enticing menu items, we ordered extra entrees just to see if they tasted as good as they sounded on the menu. Not a single disappointment in the group. This place has the most amazing food and great service. The spot is cute but cramped, parking is also limited. Not a great place for groups or small kids just because of that. We have recently added them to the takeout rotation and love getting lunch or dinner to go! The deluxe grilled cheese and tomato bisque is to.die.for. The waitress was rude and impatient. She didn't even wait to hear what my daughter wanted to drink, she just walked off. The waitress knocked off my daughters napkin onto the floor then knocked off the children's menu she had colored brushing up against our table on a separate walk by, couldn't even catch her to tell her. My silverware had a 2 inch gray hair wrapped up with my utensils in the black napkin. The Cook rubbed his chin and then handled my toast in the same 10 seconds with his bare hands. Came for breakfast and had a crab & asparagus eggs Benedict with bayou home fries, excellent. My wife had the salmon and fresh tarragon, very good also. It has a nice romantic ambiance. Came in here for the first time after a long boat tour on the river on a Sunday. Pro-tip: if going in on a brunch day, get the reservations. I had come in specifically for a lobster roll, and it was what I was going to get, come hell or high water. There was a brisket Benny special that almost changed my mind, but that lobster roll still won. And it was worth it. It's a maine style lobster roll. They went really light on the sauce to better showcase the delicious taste of the generously portioned (1/2 lb) lobster meat. All claw meat, it seemed. Perfectly cooked. I could have done with less lettuce so the lobster could stay in the roll better and I could have done with the bread being griddled and buttered like they do in Maine, but I am not complaining about the delicious meal I got. I upgraded to parm fries with Cajun aoli, which was delIghtful. All and all a fantastic meal. That said, I am excited to go back and try other ítems on their menu. The grilled cheese looks fantastic, and the burgers looked really good, too. My honey had the breakfast platter and she really loved both the eggs and the bayou home fries, which says a lot because she is a hard sell on eggs. Still AWESOME! The decor has been updated by the new owner to be more classy, but the chef/cook is still the same (4 years later) and the food is still laid-back and great! I love going to this restaurant they have the best foods and sometimes it's hard with their Covid hours but they always make it work.

A good friend who lives in the area recommended this place and now we love her even more! It's a small cafe but well organized to optimize space without feeling cramped. We go to the beach a few times a month and have been here many times now. The first time we were there it was raining (pouring) so the outdoor tables were unavailable and, because of this, there was a wait. It wasn't long, maybe 15-20 minutes, and totally worth it. They have several nice tables and a lovely couch area outside and we have never waited when the weather is nice so keep that in mind*. The employees are delightfully colorful and charming and make you feel welcome and appreciated (go figure). We've only been for breakfast and I highly recommend the gravy biscuits (that's coming from a Southerner) though you'll probably want to ask for more gravy on the side. My mate loves the bacon. Omelettes and French toast have also been enjoyed. Sides, like potatoes, are usually too much but very good. The coffee is good and the OJ is OK though it doesn't taste fresh squeezed - probably a concentrate. We went for NYE breakfast and enjoyed the "spiked hot chocolate" and, though from a powder, it was delightful. On a recent trip over we perused the lunch menu and noticed the fish tacos - the $22 fish tacos! Surely that was a typo, they had to mean $12, so we asked. The server chuckled like that wasn't the first time he had heard that but assured us "they are incredible, lots of fresh fish". That may be something we split in the future but that price tag will keep the option at bay for awhile. (Really? $7+ for a taco?). Everything else is very reasonably priced. For us, this is a solid go to breakfast spot! Those fish tacos will likely remain a mystery as there are LOTS of great places for reasonably priced tacos of all flavors all around. Give it a try - I don't think you will be disappointed. *Please, when you are in a spot that clearly has people waiting for a table do NOT sit around after you have finished your meal and take up space. If you still want to visit with your companions move to the bar or outside or another spot. You are being rude to other customers and are costing the establishment money. read more

Great little gem! You can bring your dogs and sit outside and that's always a plus for me! They give out dog treats and a bowl of cold water. The BEST Eggs Benedict I've ever had! Had breakfast here, eggs Benedict. They offer gluten free options, I had the gluten free English muffin. They also offer tomatoes instead of only bread for sides. The Hollandaise was overpowered by lime juice, and there wasn't much flavor either. The western omelette was the same, no salt or pepper. The peppered bacon is amazing! But their stuffed French toast is hardly "stuffed". I got blackberry mascarpone stuffed French toast and was expecting the berries to be smashed or more of a preserve folded into the mascarpone and filled into a thick piece of French toast but it was just two pieces of regular French toast topped on top of each other with whole blackberries and very little mascarpone in between. So it wasn't bad, but just disappointing. If it were me, I would just call it French toast with berries and leave out the "mascarpone" because honestly, it just looked like some whipped cream had melted over the berries and wasn't super great. read more

A great find for lunch. We visited Too Cool Cafe on a sunny day in February and was pleased with the restaurant seating and found the service to be excellent. My wife had the Crab Cakes which she says were excellent. I had the Mac and Cheese with Chicken and Bacon and it was excellent as well. I could not finish the super size portion and took the balance home --yum yum yum. We sat outside and the seating and tables were clean and in very good shape. With the great food and excellent service we will be stopping back here again!! read more
