The quandry was the food. My friend and I split the potato pancake app and both ordered the Rueben with fries and cole slaw. The potato pancakes were okay. The rueben however, was outstanding. How they rolled the meat, cheese, and sauerkraut was quite interesting. The fries and cole slaw on the other hand sucked. The fries were limp and soggy. The cole slaw was tasteless. We finished with the coconut cake. It was super moist and delicious. Would I go back? Likely, but it isn't my first choice. I would also order just the sandwich a la carte. read more

The worst experience ever at a restaurant. I was seated at a filthy table, which I ended up cleaning myself. It took an hour for food to come, my son ordered the shepherds pie, which had garbage in the shepherds pie literally a sticker off of some thing we left highly upset to say the least this location needs to be closed down. I guess I just got to say I love this place. It's a go to place for comfort food. A New York style deli for sandwiches pile is high as you can imagine with your favorites corned beef and pastrami or turkey. Tonight I had the turkey Reuben and it was awesome. We ordered our french fries well done and they came out perfect, golden brown and crunchy. I was splitting a sandwich with my wife and the server was perfectly content with that and brought us extra plates utensils everything we needed. Although the restaurant was packed it's a fairly quiet restaurant not a really noisy one and it's easy to have conversation. About the hardest thing is to keep from eating dessert when you're done. I rarely post restaurant reviews unless a dining experience is either wonderful or absolutely terrible, but invariably I rely upon others' reviews regularly. It is for that reason that I must post this note about Toojay's in Wellington, FL. I went there this past Monday to purchase an entire whitefish for break-the-fast for Yom Kippur. It was my designated duty to bring the whole whitefish to our family gathering of 8 people. We ended up trashing the entire whitefish. I've been eating whitefish for 45 years. Let's just say that I know great whitefish and I know really good whitefish. I had never known terrible whitefish until Monday. It was so hard and rubbery that it required a knife to try to extract the meat. At that point, we knew it was trash. No business owner in their right mind would let product like that end up in any customer's hands. read more

I had heard that TooJays was purchased by someone and therefore the new owners might want to change things. And that they did. This is the worst pastrami I've had in a really long time! Came in this evening looking forward to a great meal. We'll let me start by I understand the "staffing shortage" is a problem, I get it. Greeted with we only have 1 server working, we'll if that's the case then close! There was one server and 2 others "helping" , not sure what's going on in the kitchen because the food took forever to come out, the soup tasted like it was run through dirty sweat socks and was ice cold. Ordered the soup to come before the meal it came after the meal as well. No Cole slaw or pickles and the one lady told 10+ people to leave cause they they were too busy. This is the worse food experience I've had in years, even with covid and staffing shortages. If you can't properly run a business with staff then close And the manager working seemed to cater to older aged people vs the younger crowd, she walked past my table 6 or more times. I love TooJay's, I always have. This location at the Wellington Green Mall. We were seated in a corner, I was facing the restaurant. They seated people so close to us that it felt like we were sharing tables. And because of the way I was facing, I was staring at some guy eating his lunch. Now, the food was great, I had the open faced turkey sandwich. The sandwich is huge, but a small portion of fries. I guess they are trying to help me diet? Ordered takeout because not much else was open tonight. Pastrami on rye was passable. As for the Patty melt, the meat itself was tasteless plus we ordered cheddar and got Swiss, they also left off the chipotle mayo and the whole thing was cold and soggy. Our chicken tenders, which held up the order by 10 minutes, were hard as a rock! When we snapped one piece open, and the actual chicken inside of it was about as thick as two nickels on top of each other. Nothing tender about these tenders! This new location has not only a revamped, more modern feel, but has improved upon a lot of what made their old mall location not so glamorous. The quality of the food certainly improved and the staff was kind, attentive and fast. I've waited a little while to try this location as I've been disappointed by TooJay's in a few locations as of late, aside from their Lake Worth location. I'm happy to be able to say this was a marked improvement! The quality of the food was good and the staff did everything they could, even on a busy Sunday to make sure that we were happy. The only reason I've docked one star is solely because I feel that for the price of their sandwiches, the meat gets slightly under portioned. If I'm spending 12.50 on a sandwich I'd imagine it would be loaded to the point of brimming like the menu portrays. On my more recent visits I find myself underwhelmed by the sandwich size. Either way this is still a good business, and they've proved to be a Wellington staple, not only in flavor quality, but also in their attention to detail and service. read more

What happened to Toojays in Wellington? It's not only the prices, because honestly everyone is price gouging, but the quality. I ordered just an eighth of a pound of brisket because all I wanted was a half of sandwich and decided to make it at home because I didn't want the soup that has to come with it because you cannot substitute. I also ordered a potato knish. If I would have had their half sandwich , cup of unwanted soup and a knish it would have been $20. So instead I decided to just order an eighth of a pound of brisket to go. All I got was an eighth of a pound of fat. On a mission to find a good kosher jewish deli that serves sandwiches piled so high with meat that you can't fit it in your mouth, I came across Toojays. Immediately when I sat down and looked at the menu I realized this place wasn't kosher. They put cheese and meat together on a sandwich which is a big no-no. This was a okay with me I put cheese on everything and everyone knows once a rabbi blesses your food it magically doubles in price anyway. So we order. We started with mini potato pancakes as an app followed by fish & chips and a deli sandwich with corned beef & pastrami. We were almost finished with our app by the time our drinks arrived. For my sandwich I asked for extra lean meat whatever the price because I hate fat. My sandwich came out with pastrami that was almost all fat and for some reason tasted like a hotdog? Just picked up an online order costing $58 of 2 Corned Beef and Cabbage dinners and they forgot the corned beef! I even added a tip for the pick up order. Now I'm having to cook a meal from our freezer. The manager Becky offered to deliver the corned beef! I opted for a refund because the cabbage looked like it was cooked last week. We very much enjoyed to Jay's. Their desserts are excellent! This is great for catering. The corn beef is good, just ask for it shaved so it's a bit leaner. The kids enjoy their cheddar grilled cheese. I like the turkey thanksgiving dinner. Staff is over all friendly and the new redesign and location is very nice. My wife and I lived in Florida for a few years in the early 2000s and Too Jays was a regular lunch spot for us. Living now in DC we don't have access to many good Jewish delis, so when we came back to west palm to visit family we had to make a stop at Too Jays. Still love everything about it - the cucumber tomato salad was fresh with just the right amount of dill. The Nova Latke was well balanced without too much sour cream or salmon overwhelming the potato pancake. The Reuben is the best I've had outside of NY or Philly. Same with the Matzoh ball soup. Although I didn't order it this time, the Tuna Melt was a staple of mine as well. The kids just had Mac n cheese and a hamburger - both left very happy. Black and white cookies and key lime pie for dessert was a great way to end the meal. For 7 people (all of us leaving completely stuffed) the bill was just $92. A great lunch indeed! read more

Our food was cold when arrive to table. We did not complain or contact waiter. Waiter never came back to table after taking our order. After eating waited 30 minutes for drink refills and check. Waiter never came to table or any hostess. Got up from seat and found waiter. Ask him if he could bring our check and a to go container. Waited another 15 minute at table and he never showed up again. Got up went to front of restaurant and ask hostesses for help. Had to wait another 10 minutes for my check. Great menu. Has just about everything you would want out of a deli. Nice, upscale deli vibe with good service and good. I was surprised to see the vast array of breakfast items too.
