Me and my friend had a terrible time here. We came in excited because we seen there was only on person in the shop and three employees so we figured we would get taken right away but they took a long time to start on us. When they did the lady that helped me had no clue what she was doing and it was obvious. She hurt me and my friend multiple times she was rough with our fingers and cuticles. She kept messing up the placement when gluing on our tips and taking them off and starting over. She placed them very bad and even the other employee can tell but continued to let her. They were soooo slow with service and only one lady knows how to do acrylic so after the other lady glued our tips on we both had to wait for the one lady who knows how rood acrylic to help us. Then after the acrylic was placed i went back go the lady that didn't know what she was doing for a polish . She didn't even know better to put a top coat on, the other employee had to tell her put the top coat! My nails look bad, shaped bad, not filed down right. Overall terrible . Oh and i spent 3 hours in the shop. All me and my friend did was get a basic acrylic set... we were wondering why this shop wasn't busy at all and now we know why... just terrible read more

The worst place ever to get your eyelashes done!! I came out with so much glue on my eyes! I requested for a natural look and I now look like I have a lazy eye because of the way she put my eyelashes. I wish I could just rip off my eyelashes it's so bad I almost bursted into tears! read more

This little nail salon exceeded my expectations. I usually go to a upscale nail salon but I was getting off work late and needed a mani/pedi. I decided to try this place after I called and they told me that a mani/pedi was only $25! Wow! I pay that much for just a pedi. The ladies were very nice. Sandy did my pedi, she was so sweet and did exactly what I asked for. I will definitely be returning. I want to bring my friends here, too! read more

I've been going to Top Nails for 25 years. All the ladies are like family. They do a great mani and pedi and are very careful about hygiene. Trust me. I had never gotten eyelash extensions before two weeks ago; but I need an appointment for a special occasion. I called and easily made an appointment on short notice, which was very nice. They were very accommodating, and when I got there Allison explained the entire process to me and my different options. She is extremely knowledgeable and wonderful at her job. I was a little nervous but the entire experience went smoothly. I even told her that I was nervous about my boyfriend seeing a drastic change, so she went light on the first application. But after a week, I was ready to go big! I went in again today, and WOW!!!!! This my second time writing a bad review for them. i went for a pedicure saturday morning right when they opened and when i was sitting down waiting for somebody to start my pedicure about 4 walks in came 1 had an appointment so i understand that but they started service in the walk ins instead of me i was the first customer for them. plus i had my son a 1year old. the manager kept saying sorry more employees will come as the employees came they would service more people except me. this is totally not okay. this company needs to schedule their appointments and walk ins better, i saw a teenager walk in for a gel manicure and the nail lady sat her down right away 2 mins later a lady comes in for the appointment and now she has to wait for the lady to be done with the walk in, this so totally unacceptable and they should definitely be more organize i was there for over 2 hours for a pedicure!!!! and my pedicure took less than 20mins! read more

I've lived in Altadena for over 30 years and for some reason never been to Top Nails until today. Crazy mistake! This nail salon is clean, welcoming and offers a multitude services. Tonight it's a one stop shop because I start a new job on Monday. So it's Holly on nails, Linda on the toes and David on Eyebrows. They have honest pricing which posted on the wall. I have been coming to this nail spa for last couple years. People are kind and service is great .I am pretty satisfied with the nail work here.I have leuconychia and had tried many different kinds of Medication over the years, most of them were disappointing .The owner use a special Chinese herbal essential oil to treat it and it is amazing ,it heals significantly .I will keep going back till it heals completely. it's really amazing I never seen any other places that carry this amazing Herbal Essential oil. I am updating my review because Angel is now doing gels on my nails. When I first started at Top Nails salon, I had acrylics which were put on at another salon. I am so happy they suggested I try gels. I was concerned that my nails were too weak from years of acrylic nails but I gave it a try. My polish stays on beautifully and I have had no breakage. Made an appointment for 3:30 for 2 manicures and pedicures. We waited till 3:45 and then even longer before we were worked on. The TV was on, so my friend and I enjoyed watching trivia, but that's about it. My nails were a mess at the end, the polish bubbles, I had top coat nail polish all over my hands, and my arms were greasy from the cuticle gel they used as lotion. I rarely leave bad reviews, but... They lady at the front said my wait would be 5 minutes. 20 minutes later, she put me in a chair and started my pedicure by filing my nails. Then, the woman left me and 10 minutes later and a guy sat down and filed my toenails some more. An hour later I left with almost no toenails! I only went there because someone gave me a gift card. Helen was very kind when I called. I don't live in Pasadena so I called around to a few nail salons. To my surprise this place has affordable prices, and the place was clean on the inside. Kelly did my gel nail. I showed her a picture of the idea I had in mind for my nails and she was able to give me what I wanted. The place looks way better on the inside than on the out!
