My first to visit. The lady at the register was very nice. The staff kept the dining area extremely clean. The home style fries were freshly fried and piping hot. The spicy burger patty had good flavor. The menu recommended to order the double. I didn't but next time I will, in order to have a better meat patty to bun ratio. I ordered grilled onions. They were barely warm. No visible brown edges. I like mine really brown, so next time, I am order my burger with no onions. Their bun was buttery and grilled perfectly. However, 1 bun was dry. I don't like dry buns, so next time, I will order sauce on both buns. So, for a first visit. My lunch was good.

I had not been to tornado burger in many years, although I have frequently passed by I went there today to get a spicy cheeseburger with tomato, onion, lettuce, pickles, and order fries and I tried their Margarita, which I think is more of a daiquiri. I got my order to go, so I was trying to fries on the way home and they were hot and fresh. I believe they prepare their own potatoes for fry while they weren't the crispy fries I've ever had. They did have that Home made look and feel with just the right amount of salt. My first bite of the cheeseburger took me back to the 1970s. There is a taste that reminds me of the way burgers tasted in the 70s when you went to a neighborhood burger stand placed your order. They then begin cooking. It was super fresh and yes, it wasn't available immediately because the meat had to cook. The lettuce is fresh and crisp so is the tomato so if you're in a hurry for your food, this is not the place to go! However, if you want a hot tasty made to order burger for you personally, you should check this place out. I got my order to go, I wanted to eat it at home. The service was good. It takes time when you're cooking every order after it's taken by the counter person. The inside of the restaurant can seat quite a few people in addition they have an outside seating area for those few days a year when it's actually nice enough to sit outside and eat. I recommend this restaurant. GN3

Spicy burger (a must have), and fresh cut fries.

Yes, when you want a break from the usual "fast food", this is the place to go. The service is quick and friendly, the food is made to order, fresh, and tasty. The decor is old school diner (in a good way). It's simple, and no frills, but I love that they season everything. The meat, the fries, all have a distinct flavor, and it's all good. I am told that they make their own ranch dressing in house, but I did not try it, so I will have to add that to my order next visit.

Their burgers are legit! Burger price is wallet friendly. Burgers are on the smaller side so get two (haha). Their fries were bit soft but it's fresh cut potatoes you you can tell, without too much salt or seasoning. Though I tend to prefer crispy fires, I really enjoyed them. Show strong onions were ok, you can actually taste onions but it was bit too greasy for me. I loved their burgers and definite will try again

Passed this spot and decided to try it. It reminds of of a place back home. The food is amazing. Not gonna hold ya. The food is really good. I got a chicken Philly combo. The fries are somewhat Cajun and they are delicious. Like any fries, hurry and eat them as they go bad quick. The customer service can use some work, but, overall, I'll give it a 4 star rating. I only went through the drive thru and I got a picture of the menu being the menu they have on the Yelp app doesn't have a the full menu. If you're thinking about trying it, go for it, it's pretty good.

Finally got to try this spot - my boyfriend has been raving about it and it did live up to all the hype! The double double burger spicy was sooo good. The spicy wasn't overwhelmingly spicy but just enough spice and the burgers came out fresh along side with the fries. One thing you can't beat is the price! Such a good price for a good amount of food

My husband grew up in the area and always raves about this place. Since we were in the area I suggested let's go. He was so happy!! I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries. It was a great old fashioned burger. My husband loves spice so he got everything spicy which he always suggests. They also have to-go if you are in a hurry. Great burger place

Huge parking area, super convenient and easy to get in and out. Service was smooth, food came out delicious, and I got exactly what I wanted. Went through the drive-through so I couldn't check out the inside, but the place looked inviting and well-kept from the outside. Overall, a solid experience.

Food was delicious and made fresh, my only regret is that I should have got double meat and should have gotten a side of ranch. It all tasted home made which I love. The service was great and the guy the brings the food to your car is so sweet! I will be going back!

Best burgers in Houston and by far the best value for food quality and volume in the area. The gyros are excellent too.

Pat's and Gino's are a high A.... Tastee is a solid mid B. STILL GOOD. Would I go back? Yup. This is probably a good once a month kind of place. Minor gripe. Bread could be better. Mine felt like it was a little stale but re-heated with steam.... If they had a better loaf of bread and like 20% more cheese, it would be a solid A.

Different Kinds of Cheesesteaks--This One Deserves Its Own Lane…read more I think people really need to acknowledge that there are different types of cheesesteaks. Not all of them are made to be compared--some are just totally different styles, and that's not a bad thing. I've been wanting to try this spot for a while after seeing the debates about who has the best cheesesteak in Houston. The only thing that held me back was the location. I finally made the trip--and I'm glad I did. First off: customer service. Let's be real--food trucks sometimes don't deliver on this, but that was not the case here. Super friendly and attentive. It made a big difference. What I tried: * Chicken cheesesteak with shrimp - Delicious. Messy, cheesy, and indulgent. If you're someone who likes your cheesesteaks loaded with toppings like lettuce or tomato, this might not be your thing. But if you're into a bold, no-frills kind of sub? You'll love it. * Philly steak eggroll - Fire. * Fries - These were wild. Battered like fried chicken, perfectly crispy. I might honestly come back just for the fries. * Corned beef - Served Midwest-style, and the meat was on point. Tender and flavorful. Bottom line: I really enjoyed this place. It's not trying to be like everyone else--and that's exactly why it works. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd absolutely return.

I toyed with ideas of the most non nutritious food to order because I felt I deserved it. Something comforting. I decided on a Philly cheesesteak and fries. This was my first time ordering from Pappa Geno's, but I have considered it before. I was going to order from Miller's Cafe because I like theirs, but I get much more from Pappa Geno's. I like that their cheesesteaks are traditional footlong size on a soft hoagie. The Pappa Geno's steak and cheese was filled with thinly sliced steak, melted cheese and mayo. I added mushrooms to mine. They wrap it up in foil paper to keep it nice and warm. If you're really hungry, you can eat the whole thing. If not, you can eat half of it and save the other half for later. The meat was seasoned and on the moist side compared to others. I've been to both rival cheesesteak places (Geno's and Pat's) in Philly, and I thought this was a nice alternative for Houston to have. I think I still prefer the thinly sliced steak flavor from Miller's Cafe. The side of fries are crispy with almost a breading on the exterior. Same fries as Piper's Cantina, if you've ever been. I'm not that into breaded fries like these, but it was good and was a large portion. The sandwich itself is on the pricier side but a decent portion. I'd like to try their other Philly cheesesteak options or add hot oil peppers like the Wicked Philly. Pappa Geno's is a great option if you want a more authentic Philly cheesesteak fix.
