I'm a burger junkie so I felt as if I needed to try this while visiting El Paso recently. The billboard of being the Top 4 Burgers in Texas was intriguing. Not sure which burger on their menu got them that status but I'll say it wasn't the All-American burger. I've had many better than this place. I had a beer but it tasted old and flat. I'm not saying the burger was horrible, just wasn't top notch like I expected. I'd consider trying it again if the burger I had was not the "Top 4 in Texas". I did like the fries though, they were hot and fresh. The star of the show was the Queso and Avocado Dip. The chips were some of the best I have ever had. This appetizer saved the day. Heard so many great things about this place! We Ordered certain burgers they didn't have certain ingredients waited for about an hour and 10 minutes to get our burgers they were cold. First let's start off with our server hyping up the Zaragoza location. I love that for him but before you hype things up to your customers- I feel like you should really back it with the food quality because after all we are paying for the food. We went there at opening today and sat at the bar. It was dead so we thought okay should get good service. The bartender was nice but was not attentive. The avocado fries were good but the burgers are trash. We both had the rise and shine burger. We ordered it medium rare. First getting the burger it looked very dry and after inspection the spicy cranberry ketchup was missing. I asked the bartender for some, took her awhile to get it because she was doing everything else while only a couple of people now in the restaurant. Then our burgers were cooked well done and not medium rare. It's even on the ticket medium rare and the bartender repeated it to us when serving the food. The burger wasn't good at all either. To make it even worse we told the bartender and she kept apologizing. I didn't say anything back. The sorry's don't mean anything because you don't mean. Had something pressed on the top. I think the toro logo. Some business advice... if you're going to put your logo on your burger, they need to be extra special. @doordash menu for this burger says "mixed greens" but it only came with lettuce. Also mentions a blue cheese gravy... yeah that wasn't in there. Nothing in this burger was sweet to balance the over savory notes this burger brings. No sauce or anything. Zero acidity... sad to say this but this burger was worst than the "fake silver streak" that was in Clint, TX. Burger patties were waaaay too thick. The hubby decided to try out their kobe beef burger with a side of garlic fries. I went with a side of garlic fries only and my friend tried out their chicken and waffles dish. We had never been in and we were surprised as to how cute it is inside. We were quickly told by the bartender to pick a table and have a seat. We sat down, our server dropped off our menus, and took our drink orders. The food came out quickly and everything looked perfectly placed. The garlic frys were.. umm... sad. I had no idea as to where the garlic was at. And yes you do have to pay more for these "garlic fries." Skip them. The chicken was actually pretty good and not at all dry. The waffle on the other hand was dry and had nothing special. The hubbies burger he said was a 6/10 and not worth the price. His meat was drier then the AZ desert.. If your dining in and looking for a quick club fix look no further... head back into the bathrooms and your ear drums will be blown out with the loud a$$ music. Food was bleh and nada special. Went to the airway location for lunch today ahead of the rush. My server was aloof, food was delivered without silverware or napkins (we grabbed our own from the bar after a couple minutes). The food and burgers here are great but I just don't know what's wrong with the staff of servers; it's not just one person because everyone I've came here I get the same mediocre service. I wish it could be better. Last night I brought my parents here my mom and I ordered veggie patties: portobello mushroom and black bean & sweet potato pattie; while my dad ordered the GRAN MATADOR which as the name may say it's big AF it has two enormous patties. We were so hungry so we also ordered avocado fries for a start, the came out pretty quickly and tasted delicious I wanted another order but then I remembered that I still had my burger coming. A couple sit down next to us and another family across our table they ordered and they had their plates served before us; so I'm usually patient in these kind of situations but it was a good 25 minutes we'd were there waiting for 3 burgers which to me they should be easy and quick to prepare and then the tables next to us get each their 2 plates burgers fastest than flash so I asked the server (who up to this point had only came here to bring us the avocado fries) what was going on she just said your dishes are coming ; well I guess we should wait more; it took them a whole 40 minutes to bring us the food, I'm not the type to say anything or be vocal about it there and besides I was hungry so I just ate, at least the food was warm and tasty. Dear Toro Burger, The information provided to you is from a first time customer and El Paso Native. My experience with your food was memorable, however, not in the ways one would hope. My aim is to highlight some of the errors that I have found and the goal is that corrections, or attempts to correct, are taken. Appetizers/sides: Fried Mushroom- Good crunchy coating RAW mushroom Onion rings- Excellent Stuffed Jalapenos- Chewed on two pepper stems and the stuffing was flavorless as well as the breaded coating. Garlic Fries- Ridiculously salty Regular Fries- Not enough salt Burgers: Patties have a good flavor but certainly missed the mark on Medium; Went well past that and were very dry. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of meat! 5 stars for that alone! Tomatoes: at least a few days old Sliders: Meat portion- It's enough meat but should be made more proportionate to the bun. Nit Picks: Offering no condiments or freshness for the sliders as well is off putting to say the least. Pricing: It is my opinion that having to pay $12-16 for a burger and then adding another $5 for a "Medium-size" Fry, is hardly worth it especially with the lack of flavor. The hamburger was salty. I don't know if the meat was going bad and they saw it because now I'm sick to my stomach the mushrooms were burnt. I ordered the bird to be rare as they offer it to be rare. This place is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Always good service and the food is fantastic. My favorite part, however is the vegetarian options! My whole family eats meat and it's pretty rare that I am able to find a place that has decent options for me as well. Brought my family of five to eat lunch on a Wednesday. We were never greeted and sat ourselves. A waitress never approached until after about 10 minutes of sitting unattended. When she approached us she just asked if we've been helped and did not apologize to us or offer us drinks. She had a horrible attitude and it was not that busy. Ether way no one was accountable so we left. Too bad too didn't even get to try the food. We drove from horizon to NE to eat at chase the taste were our business was appreciated. When I posted this review on Facebook, someone from their corporate office contacted me. They never apologized only asked me for details of my experience. I gave the the information they requested and still never apologized. Only after I called them out on it this was their response: "I'm sorry Sal. My wife and I went here on Tuesday (4/5) for their Tuesday Special ($6 Buffalo Chicken sandwich, $.69 boneless wings and $2 pints). The food and service was OUTSTANDING! The Buffalo Chicken sandwich was the biggest I have ever had, hanging outside of the bun, full of sauce, spicy and very flavorful! We shared it and still had enough to take home and share again! The wings were very flavorful also! Our server, Michelle, recommended the "Honey Chipotle" and the "Jameson Barbecue" wings, and they were TERRIFIC! She did make one mistake in not telling us that the special is only for the "boneless" wings, and we ordered the "bone-in" and got charged the full price. She graciously and considerately took care of the mistake, with the help of Richard, who was a very helpful bartender, who also came over to our table to ask if we wanted a refill on our Stella Artois pints. The beer was great! The Garlic Fries were also great (just wish they came in a bigger dish with more)! All in all it was a refreshingly pleasant experience and well worth every Penny! Toro Burger is sooo good! My daughter and I both got the SOB Burger, she got fries, I got amazing onion rings (crispy, not batter dipped). My hubby had the Boozy Burger and white truffle fries, and my son have 6 wings with Jamison BBQ sauce and fries. My son says the Jamison BBQ sauce was closer to ketchup than he would like, but there was a slight spice to it that I tasted. He ate all of them anyway! Love the Patio! They have misters for hot days and a fireplace for cold days. I was super hungry and Toro Burger was the lucky place to feed me! I had the Avocado fries, Carnitas Burger and Mac N Cheese. All were yummy! Ambiance was nice. Clean and trendy with friendly service.
