So glad the overly long lines are over at ToroTea! This spot is really solid, some of the drinks are for me a bit too much on the sweeter side but they have plenty of options. Super kind staff that is willing to give recommendations and are adamant that you bring back your drink if you aren't happy with it! I highly recommend and will be back soon!
Torotea always hits the spot! Felt like grabbing a drink to beat the heat, so I ordered online for pickup. There are so many good drinks and today I felt like branching out of my usual popcorn milk tea so I tried a Jasmine Oolong Pure Tea with Black Tea Tapiochi™ and Himalayan Sea Salt Cloud and absolutely loved the combo. Thank you for the easy order and pick up experience! Ambiance is so calming - there is beauty in simplicity and love visiting any Torotea location. Thanks so much for coming to OC!
I had such high expectations for this place because of the great reviews and a referral from my husband's coworker. Unfortunately, I'm sad to report that this place feels overhyped. The line was pretty long for a Thursday afternoon around 2:00 p.m., so naturally, I thought this place must be a hit. Unfortunately, I was met with more disappointment than anything. We paid $17.15 for two regular-size drinks--a matcha tea and a jasmine oolong with brown sugar tapioca. One thing to note: they only offer one drink size, which felt pretty small for the price point. The matcha drink had a nice, rich flavor, which I enjoyed. However, the jasmine oolong tasted more like watered-down milk to me, and the tapioca pearls tasted more like grass jelly than traditional boba. I will say that the decor and overall design of the shop are sleek, minimalist, and definitely a vibe. But unfortunately, I can't justify coming back solely for the ambiance. For the price, my recommendation would be to save your money and go to Bako Tea instead. Their tea flavors are much more pronounced and flavorful. Overall, this was unfortunately a one-and-done visit for me.
Torotea finally makes its long-awaited entrance into Orange County! For those that know, torotea is a popular tea shop that has locations in Chino Hills, Diamond Bar, and San Marino. It was no surprise that eventually the franchise would make its way to the heart of Orange County in Santa Ana. During grand opening and subsequent weeks, the wait was especially long, wrapping all around the building. During that time, you could expect a 30-45 minute wait. Now that it's been some time since then, the wait has reduced significantly, down to probably 10-15 minutes to get your order in and receive your drink. Upon entry, you can expect a similar ambiance to its sister locations, with a hut-like feel to the establishment. The inside seems more of a waiting area rather than somewhere to sit and enjoy your refreshment. I got the location-specific drink here called the Muscat Oolong Passion Bloom and honestly, it's my personal favorite here! It's quite smooth and has a taste akin to grape flavored drinks. Overall, I would highly recommend this tea shop to anyone looking to get some amazing boba/tea in the heart of Santa Ana!

- we anticipated a long wait so we ordered online but it wasn't too busy at all (still recommend ordering online anyways) The interior is spacious and feels like you stepped into a cave. It's mostly bench-like seating on the right side with low tables. I did see some outlets but the seating situation doesn't make this place a good work/study spot in my opinion! - staff were really nice and handing out samples of their tea. It was cool to see the display of their jelly offerings too! - the milk teas were delicious, creamy and fragrant with a smooth strong tea flavor. We both enjoyed the deep roasty amber milk tea more. I think their focus isn't on floral jasmine teas so I'd go for the oolong or amber/black teas! I wish the barley jelly had a more pronounced flavor, the texture was fun but i didn't get a strong hit of that wheat/nutty barley
Torotea Santa Ana is one of four locations in SoCal; they specialize in high quality milk tea and tea-based drinks that reminds me of Chi Cha San Chen, because they have straight tea options along with crafted milk tea drinks. It was my first time trying this place, so I tried their signature Cassia Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi (4/5) and Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly (4/5). I liked both drinks because they weren't overly sweet and the edible jellies were subtle but tasted way better than the usual tapioca boba balls. I was somewhat off put by the large whole wrinkly dried mulberries that occasionally came up through my straw, but that's a personal preference that I discovered while having this drink, rather than an issue with the beverage itself. I was curious to try their popcorn milktea, so that's the next drink I would like to order when I come again. Torotea is my favorite milk tea place in SoCal, hands down because I like straight teas and subtle flavors, rather than diabetes in a cup. Highly recommend for tea enthusiasts.
My favorite tea place right now!! So glad there's a location closer to home. My girlfriends and I were always looking for excuses to get to their Diamond Bar location before this. My go to is the jasmine oolong and popcorn milk tea. Both their tea tapiochi and the milk tea themselves has a strong tea flavor. Online ordering also makes it way easier. I do like that they have an employee at the storefront to regulate the amount of people inside the store. Makes it less chaotic and stressful. Torotea is such an experience, I love it so much I even bought their tote lol! 100% recommend!!!
Toro tea is one of my favorite boba places, so I was excited to see that they opened one near home. I thought there was going to be a long line, but it wasn't too bad. Popcorn Milk tea (5/5): I know it sounds weird but this is my favorite drink. It's buttery like popcorn but with a sweet caramel kick. Definitely a unique and yummy drink.
4.5/5: If you like the tea flavors at Orobae but not the weird vibes at that place, this is the place to go. If you really enjoy the grape/floral type flavors you'll really like their location exclusive muscat flavor with the osmanthus jelly. It's very subtle but refreshing. The Jasmine oolong is really nice too, I added brown sugar tapimochi and it was slightly too sweet. Maybe I would get it with the black tea jelly next time. Tip: Make sure to use the tea saver (smaller) straw if you don't get the tapimochi. Service is really good! Not too overbearing and they are always happy to give you recommendations when you ask for it. Quick service too after you order, comes out fairly quickly. 4.5 only b/c dang is it pricey. Most tea spots are but I just really wonder if it's really worth $8 for a drink of this size.
I'm excited there is now a Toro Tea in OC! This place recently opened so the hype is still real. Expect to wait 30-45 min on average on weekends. The milk teas here are really good -- pure, strong tea flavors. But this review is specifically for the Jasmine Matcha Latte ($9), which was VERY underwhelming. At $9 I was expecting a very strong matcha flavor, but unfortunately the matcha flavor was near non-existent. Essentially all of the flavor was in the Jasmine tea. I was a little worried that was going to be the case because the drink is a very faint and light green. It looked and tasted watered down. I would skip the matcha drinks here. They are more known for their milk teas. I don't think they should list matcha drinks as their signature drinks on their menu. Also you cannot adjust the sweetness level for matcha latte. Huh? I thought that was weird. Aren't matcha lattes mixed and made to order? For a speciality, high-priced tea shop not to be able to adjust sweetness for a latte seemed odd.
Torotea is finally in OC!!! Torotea makes some high quality tea drinks, along with some innovative and perfectly balanced speciality milk teas. Popcorn Milktea? Creme Brulee? If it's your first time here, you have to try one of those two. Popcorn Milktea - This is their most irresistible drink here. It's a milk tea that perfectly captures the buttery flavor of popcorn while still maintaining a full milk tea profile. It comes with their brown sugar tapiochi, which are square chunks that have the consistency that is a cross between grass jelly and tapioca. Ember Milktea - This one has a very nutty profile. It's got a strong milk tea flavor and the nuttiness hits strong too. Very good if you are craving that nut. Manor Milktea - Hard to describe the flavor on this one. It is a strong black tea that has strong sweetness. The menu calls it malty but I don't know if I would call it malty. It's very good tho. Gardenia Oolong Cold Brew - This is craft oolong tea that is served in glass bottle that usually has 2 or 3 day shelf life. It is not sweet at all. It's power punch iced tea that lets the oolong shine. If you like strong, pure teas, this is definitely a craft tea. I love their tapiochi topping so I will be adding either of their tapiochi flavors to my drinks. I highly recommend this! The lines the first two weeks here were kinda crazy, but it's calmed down. I've been when there was no line outside, and I've also been when there are about 30 people waiting outside. The line moves fairly fast and they come out with samples of their featured tea for that time. The staff is friendly and helpful, they are patient and will answer all your questions about their drinks and you will have questions because they have some funky names for their drinks. This is going to be one of my regular tea rotation spots going forward. You can sit inside but there aren't that many seats. Inside it looks like cross between New Mexico adobes and Tatooine. If you know, you know.
There's a new Torotea! Located in Santa Ana close by to South Coast Plaza, Torotea features premium teas with their signature Tapioca Mochi or "Tapiochi". I love the flavors, high quality ingredients, and vibe of this location! The staff are so nice and welcoming and really enhance the overall experience. I got the Manor Milk tea and the Jasmine Matcha Latte. Both were delicious! Excited to come back soon.
Torotea This was my first time visiting Torotea, and my first impression was that the shop is very cute. The design is simple and minimal, without too much decoration, but the space feels clean and comfortable. The staff were also very sweet and friendly. I ordered two Popcorn Milk Teas: one with brown sugar tapioca and one with osmanthus jelly. I also tried the Muscat Oolong Passion Bloom with passion fruit jelly and the Mulberry Oolong Tea with osmanthus jelly. Overall, the drinks were not too sweet, which I liked. However, the flavors were a little hard to describe and not very clear or distinctive to me. The toppings, though, were really good and definitely worth trying. In my opinion, I would probably need to come back and try more drinks to know if there is something that really makes me want to crave it or remember it. read more
The hype with Torotea never ceases with a different location, so I'd definitely wait a bit for the hype to go down, because we waited at least 30 minutes for our drinks. But the staff were so kind to bring us free samples while we were waiting in line and they were very organized in terms of letting people in and getting their drinks. The drinks at Torotea always amaze me with the rich tea flavor and the milky base. My favorite is their Cassia Milk Tea, which is a lot more of a lighter milky flavor compared to their Popcorn Milk Tea, which has more of a nuttier flavor. Both drinks had tapiochi, which is my absolute favorite. It's Torotea's signature topping, consisting of a rich jelly flavor that's so nice and chewy. The drinks are a little more on the pricier side, however, I would recommend this place for first timers. I love their chill ambiance and the dim lighting of the place itself. Very unique! read more
I loved the other Torotea locations but I am kind of irked and disappointed at my experience at this location. Since I am trying to be a bit more health conscious and watch my sugar intake, I asked the staff member working the cashier what she recommended for drinks that are more on the less sweet side. She seemed a bit clueless and just said "I don't know I guess any of the milk teas." I asked how sweet the matcha drink was and if the matcha drink could be adjusted. The staff member next to her seemed annoyed at my question and said something along the lines of "I heard it's not that sweet" but then the cashier said "it's pretty sweet." Very conflicting advice but okay guess I'm not getting matcha then. I opted for a less sweet popcorn milk tea without the tapiochi since they didn't provide me any guidance on what to order whatsoever. I urge the owner or manager to train their staff better to be better informed on their drinks. The customer service at the other locations were much better. Stopped by around 7:35 PM on Friday night and found decent enough parking in the large lot. There was obviously a lot of hype around this new location, as the line took about 40 minutes to get through, and our drinks came out another 10-15 minutes later. It was a wait, but the staff kept things moving as best they could given how busy it was. The interior has a calm, modern feel with warm yellow lighting, a clay-toned design, and music pumping in the background. One thing I appreciated was the variety on the menu. There are a lot of unique drinks, including several caffeine-free options. While we waited, the staff offered free samples of their Osmanthus Citrus Refresher, which was light, smooth, and pleasantly sweet without being overpowering. It's also their only water-based drink if you're looking for something less rich. The Muscat Oolong Pure Tea was a location exclusive, and probably the most tea flavored drink we ordered. The oolong flavor really shines, with just a subtle hint of muscat grape in the background. I'd recommend it for anyone who actually enjoys the taste of tea rather than sweeter milk drinks. The Crème Brûlée IceMilk with Brown Sugar Tapiochi was definitely the sweetest drink of the bunch. The brown sugar flavor comes through clearly, and the drink has a rich, creamy texture that's more like a dessert. The tapiochi was excellent too, with a soft, chewy texture that almost felt like jelly while still keeping its classic tapioca flavor. Would order it again as more of a dessert drink. The Popcorn MilkTea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi was probably the most unique drink we tried. The popcorn flavor is light and buttery, not artificial or like movie theater popcorn, which pairs surprisingly well with the oolong tea. Again, the tapiochi was phenomenal. Service was excellent throughout. Even with the long line, the staff took the time to answer our questions and make recommendations, which I appreciated. The drinks aren't cheap, but the quality, aesthetics, and attention to detail help justify the price. I love Torotea and am so glad they opened one closer to me! The line was so long when we came but it went by really quickly. I love that every Torotea is decorated the same with a stone age vibes or whatever. I am a diehard fan of their popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi. It is so buttery and just perfect! If I get something else on the menu it's probably not me and I've been taken over by a mysterious entity... read more
So happy they opened a location closer to me! As someone who has tried the Diamond bar and Pasadena location I have to say this location is the best! The line was very long as I went around the month it opened. The line did move continuously and the service was extremely helpful. The interior like their other locations very aesthetic and clean. I believe toro tea tastes different than any boba place out there. The flavors are very unique and their brown sugar jelly is just as good as boba. My favorite drink is the Cassia Milk Tea it's a must try! read more
Finally got to try this spot as I've been seeing it all over social media! I got the popcorn milk tea and jasmine oolong milk tea. Both tasted pretty solid but I'd prefer the jasmine oolong more. The popcorn milk tea was on the sweeter side and a lil too much for my liking. The jelly toppings brought in a new texture. It's like grass jelly but more dense? Very unique taste and I'm glad I got to try it. I ordered online so I didn't need to wait long :) the inside is super aesthetic and you can take lots of cool photos. Toro Tea has finally arrived to Orange County! Without having to drive 45 minutes to Diamond Bar or Chino Hills, I can make a 10 minute drive here! The interior of the shop is very cute! It's very similar to the other locations. The production of drinks did not take too long while I was there, and during the wait I just admired how hard the staff were working. I would be sitting and a staff member would approach me and ask me if I wanted to partake in sampling one of their teas that were freshly made. Customer service was great and I enjoyed my time visiting one of my favorite tea shops! All of the drinks I've tried have not let me down. Something about Toro Tea is that all of their drinks are very tea forward. I would NOT consider this place as a "boba shop" since they don't provide boba at all! (Which is a great change of pace from every other shop). Instead, they created something that I've never had before, TAPIOCHI! My favorite drink is the Popcorn Milk Tea "perfect sweet, perfect ice" with Brown sugar Tapiochi. The brown sugar tapiochi has the texture of both grass jelly and mochi. It's something entirely different from anything any other shop has, and that's what makes Toro Tea so very worth it. Instead of saying "regular ice" or "regular sweet", they describe it as "perfect ice" or "perfect sweet" and the confidence in that statement proves just how great this company truly is. One of my TOP tea shops, if not the BEST tea shop I have ever been to in my life. The quality and dedication to their craft is what defines this place. read more
I was so excited hearing Torotea was finally coming to OC, and couldn't have been happier with where they chose! It was like hearing my prayers get answered since I previously wrote I hoped for an OC expansion haha. As with their previous locations, the interior design is gorgeous and I always love how elevated and unique it feels to be inside. Their menu is on a projector which is cool, but a little bit hard to see if you're not close enough in my opinion. While there is a line since it's still soft opening, I'm sure it'll be a little better over time, and the wait isn't too long after ordering. My girlfriend loves their crème brulee ice milk, and I'm a big fan of their popcorn milk tea, which is probably their defining and most unique drink. The quality is as good as it is at their other locations which is a plus. You get that underlying taste of popcorn, in a good way, mixed with the black assam milk tea, and it comes with their brown sugar tapiochi which I love. It's all around one of my favorite drinks in general, across multiple places, so I highly recommend it! It is pricy, but it's kind of like an experience in general with their store and drinks. read more
Torotea in Santa Ana is finally opened! Their soft opening started this week. So exciting to have one closer to home. I got there at 5:30pm and I was out around 6:30pm so it was about an hour to wait in line, order and get my drink. We ordered popcorn milk tea and jasmine oolong with the brown sugar tapiochi. Love the tea! And the tapiochi is interesting. It's like a fusion of jello and tapioca! I loved it! However, it is on the pricier side. It's like $7-10 for one drink. Topping is $1. My total was like $18 for 2 drinks. So happy don't need to wait till I'm at Covina or Diamond Bar. Go check them out during their soft opening! They open at 11am and expect to wait. So happy Torotea finally opened in OC! Plentyyy of parking space. The wait was a little over an hour from start to finish, but they manage the line well by only letting people in when there's enough seating to avoid overcrowding. Ordering is quick, and they even have someone taking orders away from the register to keep things moving. The owner and another gentleman were outside chatting with people in line, and you can tell they're both really passionate about Torotea and the menu. It was fun hearing how they came up with the flavors. They mentioned the passionfruit brings out more of the muscat flavor, and I definitely found that to be true. The entire staff was friendly and professional. They also handed out water, and Round Table Pizza next door was kind enough to offer samples to everyone waiting. My go-to popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi was perfect (uniquely roasty). Their tapiochi is a must-try, and I actually prefer it over traditional boba. It's also apparently a little lower in calories, which is a nice bonus. I also tried the Irvine-exclusive Muscat Oolong Passion, which was super refreshing and very muscat-forward, along with the limited batch Gardenia Cold Brew, which comes unsweetened. Just as good as the ones in Diamond Bar/SGV/Chino Hills! Personal favorites are the Koan-Im & Cassia for more subtle notes and pairs well with either the black tea/brown sugar tapioca. Not a fan of the popcorn milk tea, but that's just preference. Muscat Oolong is a special drink specific to this location & was refreshing! Drink Logistics: Definitely recommend getting tapioca mochi, as it has a nice texture that pairs well per drink & is my reason for being a favorite. Perfect ice is good, they don't overdo it, they only have one size of drink. They have Perfect, Less, or no Sugar for sweetness. Parking is plentiful, line is most likely going to be long for a bit for the first few weeks, employees were super nice. read more
I got the muscat oolong passion bloom with osmanthus jelly and I really liked it! It has that classical tea flavor but definitely on the fruitier side when it comes to flavor. It was very refreshing. It was so good, I came back the next day and got the osmanthus citrus refresher. I also came during lunch time on a Saturday so the wait wasn't too long, maybe about 15-20 minutes. I also really liked the vibe inside. Just wish you can actually hang out, but not much space to lounge around. It's mostly order then get out. read more

So excited to have a Torotea in OC!! I came at around 9pm on a Sunday and surprisingly the line wasn't long at all, but by the time I left, there was already a line forming out the door. I ordered the jasmine oolong milk tea and loved how smooth and floral it was. My friend got the misty oolong milk tea, and this one had a more roasted oolong flavor, but the tea flavors were really strong in both. We both got our drinks perfect sweet with brown sugar tapiochi, and the sweetness levels really were perfect and not too sweet, even for someone who usually orders their drinks less sweet. The brown sugar tapiochi is such a unique topping that sets them apart from other places and is something I highly recommend adding to your drink! The staff here are so friendly and welcoming, and I loved that they pass out samples of their teas while you're waiting in line. This store is located in a big plaza, and parking is easy and plentiful. The interior has a cave-like appearance in a cozy and aesthetic way that is similar to those of their other locations, and has limited seating. read more

Finally Torotea is here in OC. It is a little far from where I live but I made it out here twice last week. Parking is very easy, huge parking lot. The decor is very minimalistic and calm. There are some seatings, but it seems like most customers just order and go. Service is friendly and pretty efficient. Drinks are very good, and OMG the tapiochi!! It is addicting. I need to come back to try their signature popcorn milk tea and other specials. They need to turn up the AC a little tho. Both times I was there, it felt warm and stuffy indoor. read more

The popcorn milk tea is very hyped up for good reason - for an exciting flavor, the taste was executed perfectly (fragrant and not too sweet). The jelly is like a bigger yet softer fresh topping (not chewy as much as soft). Even the jelly toppings have such elegant flavors like osmanthus jelly. I'll definitely try that next time. We all got the popcorn milk tea, iced creme brulee milk with brown sugar tapi mochi, misty oolong with osmanthus jelly, and my friend got some pure tea flavor and loved it. The line was not bad, and they're so fast. Also, the sweetest most genuine girl ever rang up my order this afternoon, and I've never encountered such a kind interaction while ordering. It's so pretty inside. It's also really loud but in a good way like if you're introverted and wanna fade into the background. It's in a plaza with a big parking lot so no stress there. read more

Ample parking. Little waiting space, i think less than their original location and long 30-40 min wait times. Not really a spot to sit inside and drink, more of a grab and go but they do have some shade to stand outside and try the drink, wait for your drink to br made. They're known for their special tapioca jelly that has a slightly firmer chewy jelly texture. I like their popcorn milk tea for that characertistic not too sweet caramelized taste and the tapioca jelly sits well for long period of time if you wanted more. Their osmanthus citrus refresher had a nice citrus flavor, not too strong in osmanthus. Overall, not too strong in tea flavor but unique and not too sweet. Just long wait. read more

Such a cool aesthetic inside and so different than any boba place I've been to. The drink had an actual tea taste to it and not just pumped full of sugar and syrup which I truly appreciate. It's a high quality tea and Im looking forward to trying the other drinks. read more

Before you even order, the first thing you'll notice is the ambiance and service! The space is clean, cozy, and has a really earthy aesthetic that makes it feel inviting. I ordered the dalgona latte and the jasmine milk tea with brown sugar jelly. My favorite was definitely the dalgona latte the flavor was rich, creamy, and incredibly smooth. The jasmine milk tea, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming. It lacked a strong tea flavor, and I mostly tasted the brown sugar jelly. I see why there's always a line out the door! Went on a Saturday right before closing. I got a free sample in line and a recommendation for their location-specific Muscat Oolong Passion Bloom tea. I ordered that with their tapiochi. The tea was super fresh but for me the tapiochi was the star of the show--the texture was really unique and I love a chewy boba topping. If you love boba, this is the place to go! You can tell the tea they use is high quality, and the tapioca boba consistency is perfect and not too sweet. I love that they have unique flavors such as the popcorn drink and also have non-caffeinated options such as the cassia milk tea. Highly recommend trying their tapiochi, which is like a jelly! If you're someone who enjoys a strong tea flavored boba drink I HIGHLY recommend torotea. Torotea serves some of the best high quality teas in OC. They also offer a unique twist on "boba." Their "boba" is konjak or tapiochi based giving you unique textures and flavors. I personally love their misty tea with osmanthus jelly and their popcorn milk tea. Congratulations on the new location, torotea! We were invited to the Friends & Family event today ahead of their soft launch on Monday, June 29th. Always amazed with the dedication and quality standards Amery commits to her business! As with all of their locations, the aesthetics are on point and each visit feels immersive. We were greeted by Sonny (always nice to see him!) who gave us all the details of the exclusive drink to this location: Muscat Oolong. Jasmine was so helpful when we placed our orders and we were so happy to see how attentive and engaged the other staff were. The Muscat Oolong was so delicious and refined in taste. It wasn't overly sweet which is why I appreciate the drinks at torotea. We took some of our favorites to go and can't wait to visit again. Also grabbed a hat cause...gotta represent! I just tried Torotea and I liked it! I got the Popcorn Milk Tea as well as the Jasmine Oolong Milk tea, and I can say that the Popcorn Milk Tea is my favorite so far. The Jasmine Oolong wasn't as strong in tea flavor, but it was not terrible. I will say that their drinks are heavier on the milk, but it is definitely not too milky and you can still taste the tea. I really did enjoy and love their tapioca mochi jellies that they are known for and it is super satisfying to chew. The service was pretty fast, I would say, with drinks coming out within 5 minutes of ordering. And not to mention, the store is small but very aesthetic and simple. read more
LOVE TOROTEA!!! I've been going to the diamond bar location and once i heard they were opening in Santa Ana which is super close to me I was so excited! I went on a sunday and the line was just to the door, but when i went again on a wednesday the line was much longer for some reason. Nevertheless, the line went by fast and all the employees were friendly. The interior is soo aesthetic and the drinks are so good you cant go wrong! The location exclusive (muscat oolong) was delicious, and the ember milk tea is always a good go-to for me. Their unique tapiochi and jellies are so yummy!! My favorite tea spot for sure!! read more

Congratulations on the new location!! Such exciting news now that I live in OC on the weekdays! Will definitely be stopping by to constantly get my popcorn milk tea fix. Their tapiochi toppings are amazing and taste like every flavor they have. Adding a cream top is yummy too! The staff and service are always amazing and patient. They're always working so hard creating drinks in a timely manner. The ambiance is always so relaxing at every location! The detailing inside from the decorations to the walls themselves are so cool and you'd have to sit inside to really feel fully immersed in the space. Definitely check this place out for unique and high quality drinks! read more
