I DO NOT recommend Torrid ONLINE. I purchased the tiered maxi dress in sizes 0 & 1. It was enormous and a clingy material. I returned them straight away on 4/7, it was received by their warehouse on 4/14 and TWO WEEKS LATER still no refund!! Their rep says they won't accept it as an issue until after two weeks although my bank says they are obligated to provide a refund in 3-5 business days maximum once received. Beware of shipping charges twice. I will be disputing this charge with my bank and do not recommend Torrid. Customers deserve refunds in a timely manner!! read more

Sam made shopping for bras a day out with a friend! I purchased several on line so I wouldn't have to try on bra after bra in the store but none fit! I went to return them and Sam took the time to make sure I had the perfect bra and fit. I must have tried on at least 10 bras. I am so grateful Sam didn't find me a chubby burden! I love this store so much! Excellent customer service! I've been going here for a few years now. I went today, and they have moved locations. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it (even after looking at the directory-they said they are by Foot Locker). As I didn't have much time, I gave up and left-very disappoiI called the store once I got home and the lady said if you're walking from their last location, continue down past Old Navy and Hot Topic and it will be on the left next to the store called Garage. I hope this helps!! Update: I went back the next day and found it easily with the instructions I was given. It is directly next to "Lids". I came away with some really cute outfits, as always! Torrid is my go-to store. I always know I will find something there!! Being plus size, it's so frustrating trying to find clothes that fit at other stores. The main reason I love this store... is they always have a good amount of skull clothing. I love clothing with skulls. They also tend to have a lot of items with bows and hearts, which I also love. Or cats. I just love Torrid. My only problem with this store is a lot of their stuff is too big on me, and their selection of the smallest size in the store is not always available. It is also sometimes still too big on me. Its a total bummer. The staff here is really friendly and always very helpful!! read more

The girl that helped me is beyond adorable and gave amazing service. I called a couple of hours in advance to find out if my internet order arrived. It had and I was on hold for a bit as the person on the phone was visiting the store and couldn't answer my question as to where is the closest parking garage and stores since it was at the Spectrum and that place is a maze. The person who got on the phone was super helpful (probably the same associate that helped me later) and for reference it's near Nordstroms between Corner Bakery and Forever 21. I walked in with a sleeping baby on my back and picked up my item. I noticed that she had some cute leggings on and she showed me the Disney ones and I was sold. She told me to size up because it just fits better (I'm a size 0 because I'm a true size 10) and it's true. I wouldn't have been as comfortable in the smaller size). I like their leggings because they have the wide waistbands and they seem to fit better on my butt. The 4 for 40% was a great deal and I was able to get some Haute Cash. I was really surprised at how cute and affordable the clothes were and I had a bit of size envy since I was a little too small for some of the items, since they sold out. I'll be back and use my Haute cash and get more tips and advice from the associates there since they are so helpful and nice! read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this Torrid! Yes I've worked here, but I've also been to many different Torrid stores and this one is by far the best!! All of the girls are super friendly and make you feel like you have a personal shopper right by your side! I'll name drop just so that you can have the same experience as I do everytime I go: Sarah, Noelle, Shelly, Maritza and there are others, but I don't know them as well. This place didn't carry clearance before, but now they do so you don't have to worry about driving to the Citadel outlets or going online to brave the thousands of items you can't try on. Torrid is another store, similar to F21 and Charlotte Russe, but owned by Hot Topic specializing in sized 12-28. The first time I stopped by this store there was one woman working there all by herself: running register, starting fitting rooms, doing go-backs, and putting merchandise out on the floor. I don't remember her name but she is very sweet and gracious enough for helping me even though she wasn't feeling too good. I finally spent my Haute Cash the other day and spent a fair amount of money, but I ended up getting $50 off my transaction total plus BOGO rings. I love them! They're the only rings that have fit my fingers. I will say that most of the ladies in here are nice to jump if you need help and they check up on you in the fitting room and seem like they really care which is why I come back everytime I have $$$ to spend (it's a little expensive here but as long as it fits good, I can't complain!). I don't have anything bad to say about this store except maybe a bigger clearance section? I love the tops in here so much but spending $50 per shirt is killing me a little on the inside everytime I walk in. read more

It has EVERYTHING I need, all in one great place! The selection is great and the prices are fantastic (as compared to the other "curvy gal" stores)! Torrid beats them all, hands down! The staff here is amazing. They're all very knowledgeable, kind, considerate and professional...especially Yazzie! She's my "go to" gal! I just love her! No matter what I need, Yazzie is on it! I couldn't stop raving about this place when I walked out. The layout is easy to navigate, if there was music it wasn't annoying like at Forever 21, and the clothes are divine. They fit wonderfully, and as this was my first experience at Torrid this was a great introduction. I signed up for their program(free!) and have a coupon that will save me boatloads later this month. The salesgirls are nice and chatty, and good customer service can make or break your experience. Check out their wares online before you go and get an idea about how much you want to spend. For a college student like me the clothes are a bit out of range but worth it for making you feel great about yourself. read more

The last time I went to this store, there was only one person working in the store who was stuck at the registers, and all of the fitting room doors were open (if you normally shop at Torrid you know they keep them closed and that they lock automatically - an employee usually lets you in). All fitting rooms were filthy, with piles of clothes on the bench, and hanging everywhere. I picked a room to try on my items (a few swimsuits), and apparently they made it so the doors do not lock as a random customer walked in on me while I was wearing nothing but my underwear - completely naked on top. It was absolutely humiliating and I left immediately after making the few returns I had and not purchasing anything. Absolutely unacceptable to not give a way to lock the doors to you can have peace of mind while changing your clothes. I can't recommend this store. read more

This review is specifically for your sales associate, Elena. I recently placed an online order for a dress that I planned to wear at my son's christening. The dress arrived and as it seems I got a little too ambitious with the dress size, it didn't fit. I came into this location to possibly get an exchange for a size up and it was not available in store. Elena was so nice and helped me locate the dress, gave me all my options available to be sure that I received the dress in time seeing as to how I had my heart set on this particular outfit. Her customer service is one that I don't see very often anymore. I work in retail so I expect the customer service that I give to all of my customers and it's not one that I often come in contact with so to see her great customer service and eagerness to help me find a solution with her kind spirit and helpful information, gave me hope that maybe customer service really isn't dead. I love Torrid, and love all the girls who work at this location! Nicole is the absolute best, and never hesitates to help me with my orders, or give me advice on items I try on. So glad that Yazzy is back! She is an absolute gem as well! Does it get busy in this store? Yes. Is there sometimes a lack of help? Yes. Is it the employees' fault? No. Corporate sets how many hours are distributed among staff. You'd think they would catch on that having 1-2 people, on a Saturday, especially during Haute Cash events, is not adequate for the influx of shoppers. I don't hold this against the associates working there, its out of their control. When I stop in, I am prepared to spend some time in the store to accommodate the wait for a dressing room or assistance. My only gripe about the store is the size! Its small, and jam packed with items! There is a serious lack of sizes in the 2-4 range, and an overabundance of size 00-0, which is disappointing for a plus size store. Torrid Corporate - my advice would be to allow your Manager (who is terrific) to staff according to need. It'd reduce your negative reviews dramatically. Pare down the amount of clearance, or allow your stores to seriously reduce clearance. $2 off a pair of $68 jeans is not a discount, or anywhere close to clearance pricing. Expand the sizes of your stores if you are going to send so much product! I spend most of my time digging through racks because there is no space and items are hidden behind other items. read more

I've been coming here for years. This place is my go to last minute shopping spot. I always find something. They're prices are decent and there is constantly some type of sale or discount your can apply at check out -just ask! This last time was exceptional because I was super indifferent about what I wanted to buy. I only come to this location because it's the only one by my house. This location has the worst customer service that I've ever experienced at any retail clothing store around. Everytime I go to this location I'm never greeted I have to ask for fitting room and nobody ever checks to see if I'm doing ok. Today I ask the girl a question about their inventory and she basically said yeah that's all we have didn't offer to check the back or maybe even look around the area that maybe I might have missed something. Come to find out the girl that was ringing me up today was the assistant manager who was all alone in the store. She was taking phone calls while ringing me up and couldn't even figure out how to ring up all my discount that applied to my transaction. I almost wanted to tell her that I didn't even want the merchandise because she was taking so long to ring me up. This location is not in ADA compliance and could be shut down by OCHA because they dont have 3 feet throughout the store. I really hope this location gets their act together because I do really love Torrids products. Oh Goodness. How is this store still in business and/or how have they not fired all their employees and replaced them with ones that know what customer service is all about? This location is so far the worst Torrid I have visited. I am accustomed to the Torrid in South Bay galleria, as that was my usual shopping spot, but since I moved to Irvine from Palos Verdes for school, I have shopped here many times because they are down the street. Without fail each time I have been here the employees act as if you're scum and it's a privilege to shop in their presence. They have made this their motto, in my eyes anyways, with their cocky demeanors. Everytime I go in there I just want to slap them with my mercedes benz keys and throw my louis vuitton bag in their face and remind them that they are SERVING ME so they can stick their attitudes up their azz's. But the south bay galleria doesn't put off that stuck-up vibe and it's a pleasure to shop, exchange, or just browse. A few nights ago I was in need of some retail therapy, and was driving in the direction of this torrid when I remembered what a drag is was to shop here.. So i went all the way down to the south bay galleria (from irvine, in rush hour traffic mind you) to do my shopping! THAT'S how terrible they are here. They need to ensure that each of their employees goes through a mandatory training which focuses on customer relations. Perhaps that way they can up their ratings. read more

I work at the spectrum so I stop by often. The first few times I went in, the customer service was ok.... They were not particularly engaging or friendly but they did not ignore me either. The last few times I have stopped in however have really let me down. I find it strange that I had an armful of clothes and after almost 20 minutes had not been greeted or asked if I would like a fitting room. At one point I thought it might be interesting to see if I stood by the cash wrap long enough, how long it might take for someone to actually speak to me.... nothing. I laid my stuff down, walked out and drove 30 minutes to the Brea location where I purchased a TON of stuff. Having worked in retail myself for myself for 6 years, I really believe that engaging customers is the single most important aspect of the job and if you can't do that, I will spend my money at a location that will. read more

Every time I walk into this place the staff and one lady in particular are very unfriendly. I try to like this place and I try to come up with outfit ideas but tend to struggle at times. I ask for help in selecting an outfit and no one is helpful. Her statement to me was...." This would look okay." " I don't know this might work" the only time I hear excitement is when they ask if I would like a fitting room. I've been to several Torrids in Colorado, and even one in San Diego and those ladies were always nice and friendly. Always came by to check in on me in the fitting room and at least acted like they wanted a sale. These two girls could careless. Got me a fitting room and that was about it. I was shocked at how I was treated. I try to come back another time and the same two ladies were working. Figured I would give it another try, and again another failed attempt in good customer service. This is disappointing to me and makes me frustrated that people can be this rude. Buy One and get Two Free! this is the best deal ever. I love this store and the merchandise they sell which compliments my curves. They always have good finds just be patient in the clearance sections because it gets busy over there. The staff was very helpful and offered me a fitting room to try on my skinny jeans and a pair of business casual slacks. Everything fit great! I also had a $10 reward which I applied to my total bill which was less than $50. What a bargain! read more

As a curvy woman it is tough to find fun, fashionable clothes with an edge. I can USUALLY find something at Torrid. Occasionally they do wander into "what were they thinking??" territory, but more times than not I find a cute outfit-usually for Vegas or a night out. They can be a little pricey, which is tough because options can be limited in larger sizes, but the clothes usually hold up well so i'm willing to pay. The staff is ALWAYS very nice and helpful. I have been to this store maybe a handful of times. However, I was impressed by my last two visits. I was mainly impressed by the employee/manager, Corrie (or Cory). She was so helpful and knowledgable. She knew a lot about the product, sizing, it's material, how the material moves and fits. During my first visit, she helped me find jeans that actually fit! I was so happy! During my second visit, she helped me find cropped jeans/capris! Unfortunately, she was the only employee working. A lot of the customers in the store were annoyed because they had to wait so long in line. (Someone was applying for a credit card). My two criticisms would be how the floor is set up and the lack of employees. I had a really hard time shopping in the store because the clothes were all put together so nothing pops out to you. You always need help from an employee to navigate the store or you're not going to find what you're looking for. So please have an expert come in to reorganize the floor or something! read more

I love this location, the girls here are super friendly and every time I go in the place is packed with people so it takes them time to work through everyone, which is fine. Unlike other reviewers on here, I have no problem ASKING them for help if I see they are very busy. I worked in retail I know that some times things get hectic and they are definitely not mind readers. My only complaint is that the store is WAY too small for the amount of inventory.
