Made in Italy, but also contains Splenda.

I didn't realize that this was The Woodland's own little slice of Italy, the casual side of course. They are located in a stand alone building, not in a strip center like most other restaurants along Borough Park. Tosca is a convenient spot for lite Italian foods and coffee. Their food selection is limited. Inside is a cooler with drinks and their hearty entrees which you can either take to go, or take to the counter and have them heat it up. The sandwiches, flat breads and pastries are at the counter under display. The focal point of the interior, yes even family-owned casual Italian joints have this, is the Instagram worthy mini mural backdrop with the restaurant logo, and an Italian made scooter. I tried their lasagna bolognese, a strawberry bomboloni, a bottled lemon iced tea from Italy, and an Island Latte. They do not have fountain drinks here. Bomboloni - this is a pretty standard Italian style donut with cream and strawberry jam filling. Lasagna bolognese - kind of a disappointment for me. At $14, it was a small, really dry version of lasagna that had some crispy (chewy) edges and tasted slightly better than a frozen dinner lasagna. While this may have been more authentic with focus on the bechamel sauce, it was still too dry for my tastebuds...and with the chewy parts, it just wasn't for me. Island Latte - this is a nice little latte that is more my style and reminds me of a coffee drink I order at a coffee shop in Spring, with a pronounced coconut flavor. This one even has toasted coconut on top. If you dine in, it's served in a mason jar with a cute straw. Yummy! Lemon iced tea (bottle) - another sort of disappointment here is the lack of fountain drinks and the bottle of lemon iced tea I selected from the cooler which contains Splenda. True Italians focus on eating fresh healthy food with natural ingredients. This bottle not only has artificial ingredients but it also has Splenda in it. You would think Splenda is found mostly in the US, but it's also found in some other countries, namely ones that export lots of foods to the US knowing that many Americans don't mind consuming this dangerous sweetener. I'll have to check the bottles more carefully next time I grab what appears to be an authentic Italian product from their cooler. Some customers just come for the desserts which all look really good, similar to a few other bakeries popping up all over the woodlands, read: French, Italian, and others. Some customers here seem to be confused about the service here with regard to cleaning your own table. There is no signage with instructions, but there is a trash can and a spot for the aluminum trays to be placed at the rear. On top of the trash cans. So if there is no signage, that usually means clean up after yourself. I saw a couple of customers look around, even spot the trash cans at the rear of the dining area, but still choose to walk off and leave their trash and uneaten food at their tables. Pretty gross! Customer base here is very mixed as I saw so many different races. White, asian, European, asian, south American, Hispanic. They are truly a place that caters to the masses. In summary, I still feel they are good enough for me to make a return visit, especially since it's fairly close to home. I am a sucker for a good focaccia bread. Unfortunately, I just had a focaccia sandwich just days ago, so I will have to try theirs on a return visit.

Tried this while up in Spring for a quick lunch. I love a good focaccia and they did not let me down! The Milano sandwich was great- pretty large size for a half portion. Everything tastes fresh which makes for a delicious lunch. Plenty of seats too! The cookie was ok-drier than I usually would like .

I forget if this was a whole or a half sandwich...

A little corner of Italy in Texas (not everything has to be big in Texas). My coffee-enthusiant aunts and I decided to visit from a recommendation from my Texan cousin (the rest of us visitors). We were all utterly impressed by the coffee. We all had a mix of drip, latte, and espresso, and everyone left happy and caffeinated. I had a double espresso and I've never had such smooth espresso with lovely creama on top. We also ordered a round of their focaccia sandwiches, and thank goodness we order halves because they are filling! The people behind the counter were friendly and welcoming, and quick with recommendations. We can't wait to go back!

This was a true sensory delight. Lunch is all laid out behind the glass as u enter. I had the cappicola and cheese croissant. It was next level tho a bit light for my appetite. All is not lost. A glass of Chianti and a giant traditional chocolate croissant did me in. They elevated the croissant genre on the sweet and savory ends. Bravo chef! I'll be back very soon. They have a loyalty program and buy 2 get one pastries from 3 to 6 most days. Can't wait to explore the menu further. Wow! A true hidden gem behind H‑E‑B. Don't miss this one. It's a lot more than I expected and I expect a lot. Very European. PS I was there near closing so rather than throw out food they gave focaccia bread to all the patrons! I did the buy 2 get one free but they had a lot of pastries left over so I bought 2 and got 3 free!! Epic! I'll see u there soon.

It's like eating back in the streets of Florence! The Italian foccacia sandwiches, pastries, and coffee rival those of spots we've visited in Tuscany. Come here for an authentic and delicious taste of Italy. Vibe: Simple but tasteful, lots of seating. Colorful vibe with lovely pastel travel posters of Italian cities which make it feel even more authentic. Imported olive oil, pastas, sauces, and other products are also available to browse in the back. Service: Incredibly kind and helpful staff. They offered the option to customize my focaccia which I gladly accepted (prosciutto, straciatella cheese, truffle cream, arugula). They offer a half sandwhich for a reduced price, which I took, but they gave me a full sandhwich anyway (cuz of the custom sandwhich?) which was really nice of them! Food: I ordered a half foccacia with straciattela cheese, prosciutto, arugula, and truffle cream. They ended up giving me a full foccacia, which was nice. These sandwiches are huge! Very shareable. I can honestly and confidently say that the quality of the focaccia is surprisingly similar to I Fratellini and All'Antico Vinaio in Florence - I was truly blown away. I never thought that I would be able to even partially recreate that magic in Houston, but I stand corrected. The foccacia is slightly seasoned and fluffy. They add a good amount of prosciutto which has a lot of flavor and is well salted to enhance the rest of ingredients' flavor. Arugula was nice and fresh as was the thinly shredded straciatella cheese. Truffle cream had bits of truffle and was not so intense as to overwhelm the other flavors. Overall, very fresh ingredients and well balanced! If you want an authentic taste of Tuscany, make the trip to Tosca! Excited to explore their amazing looking pastries and coffee next time. I had a great first experience at Tosca! Was greeted warmly and was able to take my time looking at the items behind the counter and the menu. The restaurant was clean, well lit, very organized, well maintained. Staff smiling and friendly the entire time! My sandwich (the Rimini) was delicious, my latte (the pistachio one) was fantastic, and I was even sent home with two little loaves of bread, as I told the owner it was my first time in.. made my whole day! There's also some imported Italian grocery items for sale in store! This was such an unexpected but wonderful lunch experience! Reminded me of our trip to Italy in the best way!

Beautiful spot for breakfast, coffee and lunch...the time we were there. This place is darling and the new location is open in Cypress. I have the Bavarian Cream Croissant. FABULOUS! Not my first time. The coffee was a perfect Flat White coffee. Hubs had an prosciutto, bacon, lettuce and tomato on Flatbread. It is was delicious Enough to share. After we finish I had a scoop of fig Gelato. Delicious! I tasted the Mascarpone and Strawberry Gelato and that is my next treat. This place is delicious.

It's rare to find a place that can provide beautiful food that tastes even better than it looks, but this lovely spot has certainly achieved it. The attention to detail extends beyond the food: the dining area is clean, cute, and spacious. Quite a few people were working on their laptops while having some coffee, so it looks like this is a great place to relax or get some work done. Service is friendly, food is served promptly. I tried the Arezzo, which is prosciutto, arugula, and truffle cream on focaccia. HIGHLY recommend! The ingredients alone should tell you how delicious this was. You have the option of ordering a whole portion or half portion, and I found the half size to be more than enough. I finished off my lunch with an order of gelato, and got a half portion each of two flavors: Almond-Fig and Pistachio. The gelato was perfectly creamy and I love the unique variety of flavors they serve. The only downside I can find is that this restaurant closes fairly early at 6pm every day. I'm rarely out of work before then, so I only wish there were more opportunities to stop by. Otherwise, this place gets my highest compliments. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 5/5 - Service: 5/5

As I'm writing this review, the pastries I purchased from Tosca are blessing my car with the most heavenly fresh baked pastry scents. This place may just be my alternative to a car air freshener! But don't get it twisted, the dine in experience is just as remarkable. Pastries glisten, and drinks sweat out on display. The service is impeccable, and staff is patient. Everything is sizable and delicious, and the atmosphere is comfortable, well lit, and relatively quiet. Take it from me- don't skip out on the sandwiches. I'll be back again when I'm stuck near this part of town I'm peak traffic hour!

Cannot wait to come back! Stopped by here with my mom when we needed some coffee and we happened to stumble on this place. There is parking available in the gravel/grass next to it. We were hit with the sweet smell of bakery items and coffee the second we walked in- we did not want to leave! Very busy place but the staff works quick and there are a good amount of seating inside and out! The place is also very aesthetic with cute Italy decor. The lady who helped us was super sweet, she helped explain what bakery items were available to my mom in Spanish. Everyone was also very sweet and had such great positivity! We grabbed a few things to go and everything was just delightful. The Nutella bombolini and almond croissant were amazing btw! I cannot wait to come back to try some savory items since we only grabbed sweets this time around.

Lovely place! I was a little off when I looked closely at their sandwiches and saw a fly laying around. Then I quickly checked myself and remembered all the amazing food I've had over the years at outdoor food establishments. Let's not be snobby is what I told myself. Regardless, they should consider adding doors to their cases in order to keep flies out of their sandwiches. The bread, that bread. Dios! Riquísimo. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside and moist and fluffy on the inside. I could've eaten only bread and still manage to come out a happy customer. I ordered a Tuscan salad with salami which came with bread on the side. It was just what my body needed. Fresh, tasteful, amazing flavor within the simplicity of the dish. We also ordered pizza, fruit tarts, and croissants. Everything tasted amazing and fresh. The pizza was a little on the pricey side at $15 for something more of a personal/medium pizza. Interaction during ordering was pleasant. Overall, great service and great food. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area. read more

Tosca Italian Gourmet is wonderful. On all levels. The food, the service, the atmosphere. My kind of place. I've missed this style of food and quality. Expert baking - the croissant (cornetto) are perfect. Laminated dough is tricky - often too dry or oily if the butter soaks in. These are the on-point balance. The focaccia is also light but has a wonderful crumb. The espresso was great. If you want to know what it tastes to have coffee and pastry in an Italian cafe - this is it. Their arrezo sandwich is amazing, as are their desserts. A great little cafe to grab a quick bite or enjoy a quiet corner and a homemade pastry. There are a couple of tables for outside seating, also. They are also a part of Too Good to Go, where you can sign up to get a bag of their food for a ridiculously low price at the end of the day. All of the wait staff, including the owners, were all so friendly. The service was outstanding; never have I had better. Ummmmmm wow!!! I loved this place! I never even knew it was there until my Italian Mother in Law recommended it! She told us it was just like she remembered... we had salads and sandwiches! All too big for our appetite but the best was taking some of the pastries home to eat later! Yum!! We also went shopping in the little market at the back! Finally tried this favorite spot of some friends and we're so glad that we did! The classic croissants were so delicious- they would have been better warm. The lavender latte was the best we've ever had- and if a place offers lavender we always try it. The waitstaff was super patient and the gal who made the latte obviously took pride in her work. The delicate ambience of the cafe makes it an excellent location to catch up with my buddies. Dale chose this kitchen because him and his wife are in a rough spot and he's been sober so what better place to catch up than a cafe? Everything was so good I did not have a chance to even take a picture. The place was neat and clean and many customers were speaking Italian, so they must be doing something right. The sandwiches and pastries were delicious as was their coffee drinks. Next time I will be trying their pizza and gelato. read more

Go for the bakery. Everything they bake is heaven sent. The food is okay, but the pastries are drool worthy. They are super friendly and answer all your questions. They're located a bit out of the way, but worth looking for. The dining room is small, cozy and not terribly noisy. You won't regret a sweet treat from Tosca. read more

Pastries, coffee and service are all 5 stars. I unfortunately wasn't a fan of the lasagna or pizza. I really wish there was a 4.5 star rating, because this deserves more than 4, but not quite a 5. The restaurant was clean and staff were super friendly. For a coffee and pastry this place is probably the best around. read more

Another great find. Italian gourmet store. Really sweet people. The focaccia sandwiches are sooooo good. We had the salami and prosciutto. Y'all, we have a favorite Italian place! It's called Tosca and it's right nearby 45 and Rayford. The owners are literally from Italy and their daughters work behind the counter. While we were there a group of ten different people came, grabbed table, and started chatting in Italian like it was a cafe back home. We've been here once before eight months ago when an Italian colleague of mine told me about this. Everything is from scratch and is wonderful. Tosca feels like the go-to community hangout for good food and dessert. The pastries can easily be enjoyed as breakfast or dessert, they have a phenomenal gelato bar, and authentic sandwiches and pizza! Coffee bar is delicious too. and the owner is so sweet! read more

I was excited to try their pastries because of they have good reviews. I ordered 3 vanilla croissants, morning bun and a mini cake. I didnt get morning bun, but I got 4 croissants. I didn't really like the taste of the vanilla croissant, it has a taste of lemon? Thats just me, I dont like lemon on my dessert. For the mini cake, I didn't like it at all. Why 4 stars? Because our sandwiches were tasty but we think we could have custom made them a bit better. --- --- --- We stumbled across Tosca recently online and shot it to the top of our to-do list. We love all things Italian food and were definitely very intrigued by the menu here. I was unfortunately *so* intrigued that it was a very hard decision on what to order. I was very torn between the Pisa, the Arezzo, the Lucca or just building my own with prosciutto and burrata. I ultimately went with the Pisa and my wife went with the Arezzo. We both enjoyed our sandwiches, especially the bread, but thought that the cream cheese and truffle cream was just a bit too overwhelming. The one with the truffle cream was so intense, it reminded me of eating a lox bagel. I am still giving out 4-stars here because the quality of everything was exceptional, but we both thought they should have gone much easier on the condiment spreads. If we return, I will simply build my own with prosciutto, burrata, oil and vinegar. With the delicious focaccia bread, I think that would be a pretty perfect meal. I really appreciated how they had some authentic Italian teas and drinks, along with a small grocery area. We also ordered a tiramisu and a panna cotta, which was quite enjoyable to finish on. We don't live super close so it may be a while before we can return to try our own concoction, but we're glad a place like this exists. read more

The Woodlands/Spring needs more restaurants like Tosca Italian Gourmet A far piece from The Woodlands, Tosca serves plenty of options that make it well worth the drive -- that is, when they're not overwhelmed with other customers. The focaccia sandwiches melt in your mouth. With hundreds of different types of bread to choose from, as an employee with the coolest accent ever had said, Italia sure made all the right decisions in the Pisa and Arezzo focaccia sandwiches. Everything about this place is Amazing. No really! I mean Everything! The staff are really nice and inviting, not to mention helpful and patient. We started with the Veggie Focaccia and man these things are HUGE. 1 sandwich easily fed my husband and I. I would say it could probably feed 3 to 4 women at lunch. The Italian espresso is from LavAzza, a staple in Europe. I was having some serious user errors trying to pay with my SamsungPay and the cashier insisted numerous times to allow her to warm up my double espresso because it was getting cold. We were also offered a complimentary biscotti which was delicious. They also have a little store that sells wine, EVOO, pastas both gluten free and unique like squid ink. Tosca is like going back to Italy and indulging in the finest gourmet foods! Toscas is at the top of the class, with a delicious variety of creations and drinks to choose from! The staff is fantastic and provides great service! I definitely recommend Toscas! After reading the reviews, Toscas deserves every 5 out of 5 stars they've received! We came here for breakfast and enjoyed every ordered item and sip of coffee! Walking in, we were greeted by staff and a wide variety of items to select from, behind the counter. The prices are a value for the quality of food! I had three items: *A cappuccino that was created with craftsmanship and served at a perfect temperature! The coffee is high quality coffee and creamers and created better than any other coffee shop I've been to. *The Apple Sfogliatina, which in layman's terms is like an apple strudel, made to perfection! *The American croissant, made with a fresh, airy, crispy croissant, eggs, capocollo and cheese. This was hands down, one of the best breakfast croissants I've ever had! All items are handcrafted, the bakery items are made from scratch, the meats are perfectly tender/spiced and the vegetables are fresh! The staff was wonderful, making every guests feel welcome as they provided great service! They also have a wonderful dining area where there's a lot of available seating and bistro ambiance. There is also a wall dedicated to genuine Italian pantry food items for purchase separately and take home with you. There are no words to describe how truly delicious the food is. The salty foods are just as good as their sweets, but the Nutella Croissant and Gelato are incredible; however where this place truly stands out is its service. The people are so nice and I've come here many times and have been treated with better hospitality than many other places. What a great evening we had Dec 14th at the Christmas dinner. The staff was so cordial providing superior care for our dining experience. There was live music sung in English and Italian. The menu was a delicious, traditional Italian Christmas dinner. There were many carefully chosen wines and spirits to compliment every one of the 4 courses served over the 3 hour dining extravaganza. There were so many delicious items to choose from on their menu we can't wait to return to try their breakfast selection, their dinner/main features and some of their fabulous looking deserts. They've got a handful of subs on special, but for a couple bucks more I went with my usual Italian--here called the "Italiano"--on Cheddar Jalapeño bread. And of course I did the footlong because size does matter. I asked for it toasted, only to discover they use a panini press, which flattens the bread like a stress test. Not my favorite. Ironically, I used to love Blimpie's oven‑style toast before Subway even offered it. They do have a separate oven for melting cheese, and that part I absolutely recommend. The sandwich itself was very good and definitely in Subway territory. For $1.29 you can grab a self‑serve cookie--critical, because I can select the front‑row cookie with the maximum chip‑to‑dough ratio. Fresh daily, solid flavor, very Subway‑adjacent. But I still prefer Subway's footlong cookie. It's a personality trait at this point. Staff was extremely friendly. I'm pretty sure the owner was working the counter, unless a gentleman of his seniority just enjoys staying busy or needs the cash, which is increasingly common these days. Honestly, that personal touch is probably what gives this place an edge over Subway. Pepsi products here. Acceptable, but I'm a Coke person. We came here a day before Mother's Day when they opened, we were also celebrating ny dad's 79th birthday. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The restaurant had some dim lit areas for a chill vibe. There were booths, tables, and a small bar in the back corner. The sodas were delicious and my sister really enjoyed her Arnold Palmer. Everyone ordered a different array of plates, but before our meals came out they had complimentary garlic twist rolls that were addictive. We must have had around 3 refills on both baskets (and they packed some up in foil for each to go box). I myself had the chicken carbonera, and my husband the shrimp Alfredo. He used to work at Olive Garden for a number of years and could tell that this pasta was authentic (compared to Olive Garden's pasta). He wished his plate had a bit more shrimp in it, but other than that, no complaints. Great sauces on both our dishes. My dad was surprised with a free tiramasu slice that was airy, sweet, but not overly sweet, we each took a bite. We'll definitely be going back again!

The interior and menu are pretty consistent with other locations, so you know what to expect. With many new ramen spots popping up over the years, Jinya has been the more consistent option. While I'm not a big fan of the appetizers (too Asian fusion for my liking), the ramen flavors are reliable, quality is solid and you pretty much know you're getting the same experience every time. My go-to is the Tonkotsu Black, you really can't go wrong with it.

During my visit, I was the only dine in customer and I'm thinking most customers may order to go or do catering as the atmosphere just isn't very homey at all. I reviewed the menu and was originally set on ordering some dish with beef tenderloin as they have a few, but I ended up selecting my go-to, a gyro. I didn't want fries, so I subbed for the lemon potatoes. The gyro was very large and filling, and tasty. The pieces of meat were just shaved and not crispy or anything like you may receive on some gyro at other places. The potatoes were homemade and basically 1/4 potatoes, sliced lengthwise. I was so full from the gyro that I only ate one of the potatoes but didn't think it was very lemony at all. Customer service was excellent the entire time and they will even come to your table and take your plate away as if they are full service, which they aren't . I also ordered a slice of coconut cream pie, or at least that's what they said it was. It had no cream in it and appeared to be a coconut custard pie not that different than the one I make at home. It was delicious as well.

Parking was expected to be an issue as the lot is shared with other businesses in the center, but was not an issue for an early evening Saturday. But parking can be an issue at times, I was told. The restaurant is small with only tables and maybe 4-5 seats at the small bar. We arrived about 15 minutes before our 6:45pm reservation and had to wait due to no available tables, but that was not a showstopper. The noise level was moderate throughout our stay such that one could easily carry on a conversation with table mates without having to scream. Almost all patrons were nicely dressed. Since this is a Michelin acknowledged restaurant two years in a row, we were expecting uniqueness and we were not disappointed. That said, food was very good, but I would not rate it as spectacular. The blue fin tuna tostados were delightful and hands down the best dish we had. Ceviche mixto was excellent with a just a hint of heat. I would order these two appetizer dishes again. Main courses consisted of duck 2 ways, redfish with green mole and risotto, spring cavatelli, and grilled shrimp & pork belly. All were delicious and uniquely tasty with the exception of the duck. Mind you, I really like duck and the sliced portions were excellent and perfectly seasoned and moist, but the pate-like accompaniment was not that good, plus the mole sauce was not what I was expecting. Table sides of Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower were good but nothing special. The Eton Mess with strawberries was simply delicious. Would I go back? Maybe, but not anytime soon.

The moment I walked through the door, the smell alone had me questioning why I hadn't ordered anything for myself. I walked up to the counter, gave them the name on the order, and boom the food was in my hands. I truly appreciate a restaurant that respects to-go times, and they absolutely nailed it. While exiting, I noticed they also offer a lunch buffet from 11-2:30 which immediately caught my attention for a future visit. Now comes the dangerous part. The kids opened their containers of butter chicken with rice and spicy aloo, and my mouth instantly started watering. The portions were generous, and I found myself asking the same question over and over...**Why didn't I order anything?!** Curiosity officially got the best of me, so yes... I stole a bite. Actually... maybe two. The butter chicken was incredibly flavorful with a rich, creamy sauce that had me wishing there was another container with my name on it. But the real surprise for me was the spicy aloo. I'd never had potatoes prepared quite like that before, and they completely stole the show. I wanted that entire side for myself. Needless to say, next time I'm not just picking up food for the family I'm ordering my own meal too. This visit was more than enough to convince me I'll be back to explore the rest of the menu.
