Honestly, the staff here are ruining this brand's reputation. Managements need to look more into this . 1. Rarely pick up any phone calls I have called them myself trying to reserve birthday cakes. Typically it takes something like 20-30 tries and about 30 mins of wait time before someone finally picks up the phone (this is on a weekday btw). That said, when I was physically in the store, I could tell that the phone was ringing constantly and no one bothered to pick it up. 2. A lot of their bakeries are just sitting in the shelf for god knows how long They don't seem to maintain it. Last time I bought a curry bakery I felt like it's been a few days old. But what do I know? 3. Hit and Miss cakes Some cakes are really good and reasonable priced (the berry yogurt cream cake), while some other cakes (the green tea cake for example) have too much cream and are priced relatively expensive not sure why. Picked up a birthday cake this weekend for my daughter. The customer service was beyond pathetic. The cashier (younger gal with round glasses) seemed very unhappy to be there and it showed. No assistance, rude to myself and the other customers she was assisting. Messed up an order that was placed ahead of time and was unapologetic about it, and witnessing this was very appalling. TLJ is a cute little bakery shop within HMart in Bellevue downtown. They have pretty decent cakes and pastries, albeit not stellar. There is one item I really like which is the Soboro filled with whipped cream. It's a sort of big cream puff, but the dough is not choux dough, it's a soft sweet pastry with a crunchy crust on top. The heavy whipped cream is delicate and fluffy, the combination is really good. I tried the muddy cake once, a sort of chocolaty danish kind of thing, and it was yummy. I've definitely had a few more of the strawberry cakes since I first tried it... What can I say? It's the best cake I've had in the US so far (not counting my cousin's homemade Nutella cake). I've also, however, had the good fortune to visit their store in Bellevue and stock up on more delicious foods I didn't know I needed. Their manju is fresh and delicious, and so are their melon bread and baguette. I recommend a visit or two to get better acquainted with their goods - the service is exceptional, so you will have a great time! read more

This little hidden shop in HMart had so many versatile options. From sweets such as custard and melon, to savory flavors such as curry and cheese, the range was quite expansive. I walked in to pick up a cake (sweet potato mousse) and walked out with more than just that. The cake was so fluffy and all 8 of us enjoyed a small slice of cake for a total price of $34. All in all, it's a nice place to check out and I recommend it for birthday cakes read more

Like other reviews said, the pastries are good but the service is bad. I got small cream puffs and a yuzu pie which I like both of them especially the yuzu one. They are probably the only place I know that sells yuzu flavor pastry so despite the bad service I will still go again. The price is fair based on the location. Ok! Let me talk about the service. Usually I don't tip at this type of self serve bakery unless I feel the customer service goes beyond my expectations (a nice small talk) or I do receive certain services for example asking them to slice the bread or ordering a birthday cake. I just checked out what I grabbed and the lady at the checkout counter had no greeting or any smile. I selected no tip when paying with my card and then she gave me a face and brought out the tip box to the front. I can tell she was upset that I didn't tip, which makes me wonder if her pay is bad. This is a nice bakery inside the hmart grocery store. The cakes and bread pastries I've tried here have always been pretty good! Customer service is alright, not the most attentive and they rarely ever answer their phone to take orders so I recommend going in person to take your order. During the holidays it is very busy! I don't live in Bellevue but I stop by TLJ every time I'm in Bellevue. Spectacular cakes, pastries, breads, etc. I'm a big fan of korean bakeries and this place definitely hits the spot. I echo other reviews though. The service is non-existent. Every time I've went, employees here look like they just want to go home. I understand that employees are humans and can have bad days but there has never been a time when I saw a employee smiling or interacting with the customer other than just swiping their card. read more

I dont get over to the Eastside much, but I may have to stop by more often and come here to pick up some baked goods. Located inside of H-Mart, so just go towards that. Picked up some treats for the week, just like most Asian bakeries, grab a tray and start piling it on! Most of the ones I got were either red bean or custard based. All were pretty good, freshly made, not overly sweet and pricing was ok. Good amount of selections to choose from and some free samples up front to catch a flavor. A bakery next to HMart! So cute. Fresh baked items and ones you'd think you wouldn't find at any other bakery. I got the blueberry cream cheese bun which was not very sweet. I have yet to try the green tea cream buns and the pumpkin bread I had purchased. Fresh tarts and danishes can be found outside the glass window along with specialty cakes. Adding a star I have visited Tous Les Jours a few more times and have found the quality of their baked goods to be consistent. They also have gotten better at keeping baked goods replenished later in the day. Initially store shelves were quite bare in the afternoon. A couple additional things to note include that they now serve coffee. Though I have yet to try it out. And they now keep the croquettes in a warmer machine so that they stay hot. Much better idea than keeping them in the cases like they did previously. The baked goods are a little pricey compared to other Asian bakeries, but I will continue to visit since their baked goods are great and they have some unique offerings. read more

One of the peeps on staff argued with the other one that the cake they were about to sell me was not chocolate. She insisted it was chocolate. I asked if she was sure it was chocolate. She said yes. Well considering everything in this shop is practically poison with me being a no choice member of the ihategluten club; it's hard for me to accurately assess the quality of pastries. Whenever it's my day to be the bearer of delicious treats to the office I'm always at a loss. Bagels? Donuts? Cream filled flaky pastry things? I wouldn't know where to start. So I started with the basics. To acquire said pastries I must first find a place with a parking lot in downtown Bell big enough to fit my Nebraska beast SUV. This place checked off this necessity. When I stopped into this little bakery just tucked inside an Asian grocery store, I was first overwhelmed by the delicious smell. Now don't get me wrong, I may not know the delicious taste of all that is gluten, but my nose can definitely pick up quality pastry. Next, if Ratatouille has taught me anything, along with my addiction to Food Network, picking up those pastries and baguettes gave a satisfying crackle sound that gave me some confidence I was in the right spot for some killer gluten noms. I picked out a range of doughy delights for the office along with a baguette to surprise the husband, and the lovely ladies packaged everything up nicely for me. After depositing these bites of gluteny goodness on the counter, and an extensive hand wash, I delighted in hearing everyone rave about how good they were and wondering who had brought them. Mission accomplished. The husband was surprised to get his baguette and fondly placed it in his bread box labeled with a biohazard sticker so I don't accidentally forget and paw into his precious gluten. The baguette was gone within a day and he said it was excellent. With the great selection, fresh indulgences, affordable prices, and a precious parking lot, I'll be making my way back here for all those gluten munchers in my life. read more

I had a twisted donut and immediately experienced stomach bloating and cramps. Also bought the caramel almond pastry and sweet potato pastry which were both a mistake. This place has easily become my family's favorite place to get our birthday cakes! Not too sweet as American cakes, but has that high quality taste to it. I'm usually not a fan of the cream outside of cakes; they're either too sweet or way too much like whipping cream, but this has a good balance of butter cream. Price wise, pretty comparable to most Asian cake places, but they throw in a fancy looking plastic cake knife and candles, unlike most places. I also love the cute but durable box that it comes with, that way my mind is rest assured my clumsy hands don't ruin the cake upon travel or opening. I've tried some of their pastries and breads as well, and I'm not much of a fan. They're good and decent priced if you're in a snag for work. Nice little bakery in downtown Bellevue. In typical Korean fashion you grab a pair of tongs and place your pastries onto your tray bring it to the counter to check out. Pastries are decent slightly more expensive than some of the places in the international district but it's much cleaner. This place has no seating so you grab your stuff and go. They haven't opened their cafe yet but you will soon be able to buy coffee as well. Since the bakery just opened you do get a free cookie with every purchase. If you spend $20 or more you get to choose a free water bottle or mug. They're quite slow at putting out their breads and pastries so going around 11:30 would be best. Lines can get long though as the employees are still learning the look and cost of each pastry. read more

It's inside H Mart. We went around 730pm on a Friday and the shelves were wiped clean. Looks like it is a pretty popular place. There were few cakes on display. We got the chocolate one. It was thick and rich and not too sweet. This is my favorite thing about Asian bakeries, is that the cakes are not over the top sweet. There was however nothing remarkable about it. It wasn't worth $8. Some of their pre packaged cakes like the honey cakes have HFCS in them. I tried to check on the ingredients of the display cakes. I was told they were of good quality. If you've ever been to Korea, there are several constants. The first is you are in the home of Korean Cuisine and as you explore all of the different kinds of foods you will soon start to see that for dessert there are a lot of French style bakeries. One of these chains that you see throughout Korea is Tous Les Jours. When I lived in Korea, there was a Tous Les Jours less than a block from where I lived so I have been there a lot and I am used to the quality and types of pastries, cakes and breads available. I was surprised that the taste is pretty much exactly as I remember it. It is always good to find an international chain that manages to keep the quality the same regardless of location. Now, this Tous Les Jours is much smaller than the ones in Korea but it is located inside of the areas small H-Marts. Even though it is small, it offers a nice selection of different products that I sometimes get a craving for. They have both sweet and savory offerings and I have never had anything from here that I did not like. Some of my favorite sweet offerings are any of the pastries made from sweet rice & red bean, sweet pumpkin donut, red bean and walnuts, the sesame donut and the sweet potato pie. When it comes to their savory pastries I like the curry, beef and the Kimchi bun. Their cakes are sweet but not as sweet as most cakes you will find in the states. I like the cocoa and chocolate cake is very good. We got one for a birthday and it was a big hit. I prefer these types of cakes because of the lower level of sweetness. The triple delight coffee cake is awesome. It has three different kinds of flavored cake. The cream on top is also coffee flavored. It's great for anyone who loves coffee. Of course, no Korean French style bakery would be complete without offering macaroons. I like their pistachio and green tea macaroons the best. If I had to choose only one I would probably choose the green tea. I liked the Apple pie one because it's such a non-traditional flavor. If you are looking for something cold they also offer popsicles. Get yourself to Tous Les Jours and get your pastry on! read more

I brought back three roll cakes this morning for my family to enjoy: mocha, green tea, and honey walnut. Let me say we were extremely happy with the taste the quality of these cakes. They were very delicate and not overwhelming sweet, pairing well with a cup a coffee. My personal favorite is the green tea roll cake because it has bits of red bean spread inside, but I would highly recommend any of them. The girl that helped me with my purchase was also very kind and provided me with an excellent customer experience. I will be sure to come back again soon! read more

I ordered a 10 inch cloud cake for yesterday ,11/26/22 via phone on11/25, I requested the style with a ribbon on the side, and double/ triple confirmed about it, and the store associate repeated it several times for me too. But disappointedly, I still get the one without a ribbon. The ribbon style is not a customization order, juts the style I bought from the store before. I like their corn donut, coco donut, Korean style ball shaped donut, and sweet potato bread. The price of the whole cake here is more expensive than other Chinese or Korean bakery in Bellevue. For 28-35$, you can get 8-9 inches cakes at other place, but just shorter and smaller one here. Their cakes look super cute though. Service here is lame. Don't expect much. Just grab your bakeries and pay. They are not friendly people. I always say hi to cashier person and believe me they would not say hi back. They just kept filling up the bake product in the bags. Sometimes I am the one who say thank you at the end of the sell and hear nothing back from them. I start to think so who is the customer and who is the staff now. I had heard from a friend about this being a famous bakery in Korea. I have been here multiple times for different types of bakery items and I ordered the cake once for a friend and I have ordered cakes from here all the time now. This is the cloud cake that has whipped topping on top, whipped cream and sliced strawberries with a soft sponge cake on the inside. The cake is never overly sweet or heavy. This cake is perfect balance between sweetness and density. This will be the cake that I will always order for all special occasions. I even ordered this for a friend as a birthday cake as a surprised and it was so good between the 4 of us we demolished the cake. Soooo good. It does come in 3 different sizes so depending on how big your party is they have a cake to fit all your needs. read more

There is finally an international bakery from Korea here! After seeing many a few Paris Baguettes in California, it's nice to see a Tous Les Jours in Washington! I was really excited to hear that Tour Les Jours would be coming to Washington because that means good quality Korean pastries and breads. This bakery is located inside the H-Mart near Bellevue Square (bit of a small walk). It's pretty small inside so if there are even just a few people, it might start to feel a bit crammed. They do have a cake display case with macarons but it's on the side so you have to some what lean over or exit the bakery to look at it. I personally think that Tour Les Jours should have more samples of their breads so that people know what they taste like. I know the Paris Baguettes in California have a sample of almost every bread/pastry that they have up for sale which makes it easier to judge which ones to buy. They had a small sample plate inconveniently by the cash registers and they were all jumbled up pieces of different ones. They had no labels so you didn't know what they were (and this could be potentially harmful for people with allergies). They have a good variety of breads and pastries though. You can grab a tray to get some of the fresh baked breads that aren't wrapped up already. Or you can just grab some of the ones that in the back that are wrapped such as custard filled or red bean filled. I personally adore the red bean and the snow pea filled breads. I also enjoy the donut pastries as well. The Tous Les Jours that I went to in Korea didn't sell macarons, but this one does. I wasn't sure as to if they would be good or not, but I decided to try some since I love macarons. I got a green tea and a blueberry macaron. They are currently selling their macarons for 2.25 each. They put mine in a small bag where one of the macarons was peeping out and was about to fall out. Wasn't a fan of this tiny bag. The macarons here were a complete no-no for me. I've never ever had to throw away a macaron after biting into it. The macaron was overly soft, super doughy and almost tasted like they were under-baked. I couldn't taste the green tea flavor in the green tea macaron, so it tasted more like a vanilla macaron. The blueberry lavender macaron tasted more blueberry than lavender, but I can't recall the taste very well because I was so displeased with the texture of it. Definitely will not be getting macarons here ever. Service was a bit slow, but I think it's because they are still pretty new and trying to familiarize themselves. The lady at the front who rang me up misunderstood me a couple times, but that's alright. Despite all that, the only reason why I like this bakery is because of the red bean and snow pea bread. They are always perfect to eat, so buttery and not overly sweet. I will be only coming back for those breads and nothing else. read more
