I'm very into anything remotely French patisserie, so I had to pop in and take a look. I haven't been to any Tous Les Jours locations before, so I was going in cold. Similar to 85C, but on a much smaller scale, things were mostly sold out by the time we got there (about 3pm on a Monday). However, we were pleased to find that there were plenty of macarons to choose from. These macarons take the top honors for commercially available at any given time. I got Earl Grey, Matcha, and pistachio macarons and they were absolutely divine. New splurge item, I'll never get them from Whole Foods again! Stumbled into this place while waiting for hobby libby to open up across the street. I was expecting a donut shop from the appearance's of its location (little strip mall). Big surprise when you walk in. Beautiful cases of cakes and pastries. Most pastries seem like a mix of french technique and asian flavors. Taro, red bean, guava. I ended up selecting a sweet potato danish that was excellent! Flaky buttery crust and light whipped sweet potatoes for filling with a sprinkling of black sesame seed. Delicious! Had this place bookmarked on Yelp, finally got to try the pastry. Came here around 4 pm, still a decent selection of pastry to choose from, need to come back in the AM to try other stuff. The crossiant was flaky and not oily in your hands but your stomach will let you know that they must've put a tons of butter to make! The creme brûlée cruffin was definitely a surprise, it was delectable and tasty, oh how wish I bought more than one. It had a nice little creme in the middle of the muffin/ cupcake. Came back in the morning, was able to try the croquettes bun, tried the curry and the kimchi. The kimchi one had a nice little kick to it. Want more..... the curry one wasn't too bad but I really really like the kimchi one. My wife got a birthday cake for me from here in December and it was SO good. A friend had a birthday so we decided to pick up a cake from here for him. I called a few times before getting an answer, but was able to get in touch. You have to give your credit card over the phone in order to place an order (I called on Tuesday for Saturday pickup- it seems they have a 2 day minimum based on other reviews). Picking up the cake was super easy and quick. There are tons of breads and pastries around and you use tongs to pick them up and put them on your tray like a usual Chinese bakery. However, I actually had self control for once and did not get any (!). The cake itself was good and held up to an hour long drive to a socially distanced hangout. One reason I like this place is that their cakes are especially light and airy and don't have the usual density and heaviness of most American style bakeries. I love everything about this bakery except for some employees. It's a miss and hit for me. Some are very kind and helpful but some others are not welcoming. Every special event, their cake is my must have. Birthday, Christmas, every holiday that needs a cake, I always come here for their strawberry cream cake. I've tried their matcha, mocha, and mango but I have to say the best one has to be strawberry cream cake. Matcha didn't really taste like matcha, just a plain cream cake that's colored green... mocha was too chocolatey for me, not a really chocolate fan. As for mango just straight mango in a cake. I LOVED it though. I love mangoes and most importantly, these cakes are not too sweet! I tried other bakery cakes and usually they're so sweet all around but their perfect with their sweetness. Not too sugary! Another plus is that if you purchase a cake, they give you free cake cuter and candles! Love that! If you're not a sweet tooth, then I recommend, their sweet potato cake! This bakery has the absolute worse customer service. We came at 4:00pm on New Year's Day 1/1/2023. We got some pastries and then ordered some drinks. This is where it gets fishy. We ordered a green tea Freddo which was posted on the menu board for $5.70 but we were charged $5.90. When we asked her why we were charge more she said the menu was wrong and the correct price was the price on her register. She basically said the menu prices are not correct and the register has the correct prices that the customer does not know until they ring up the order! I asked her how can you run a business if your menu prices don't reflect the actual price of the item. The cashier gave us this look like why do I need to even explain how they do business...she was extremely rude and impatient. So we ordered, got seated, and waited for our drinks. I'll cut to the chase. We had to check on the that drink order three times, found out they forgot our order, then they made the drink and left it at the back counter until we asked a fourth time - all told it took over twenty five minutes for us to get our drink! BTW, I'm of course not surprised none of the staff apologized. That much I expected. I've been a regular customer since this store opened and have always told my friends, co-workers, acquaintances that this bakery has good pastries but the rating of any establishment should be based on the overall service, not just the product one sells. Needless to say I won't be recommending this establishment anymore based on how we were treated. In terms of customer service; Paris Baguette; another Bakery nearby, has never given me poor customer service or made me or my family feel we were unwelcome or a hassle to deal with. My job deals with customer service 24/7 - 365 days a year. If I could give the experience I received from this store today a negative rating but unfortunately I cannot. Suffice to say that the my experience on this first day of a New Year was quite abysmal. I asked for the manager and was told Gina was not on the premise. I look forward to talking to her soon to ask how you run a business that treats customers like a hassle instead of a paying customer. How does this place not have thousands of ?! Outstanding, delicious, fresh, melt in your mouth pastries and cakes. My aunt Surprised me with their chocolate croissant, strawberry cream croissant, cream filled donut style and a layered chocolate and fresh cream cake. Nothing was loaded with sugar. On the contrary, everything was super light, creamy and burst of high quality flavors. I cannot begin to explain how perfect they all were. All fresh and great presentation for when you have guests over. They have the best croissants I have ever had! There are trays and claws upon entrance so that you remain socially distanced. During the holidays, I went to tous to buy a cake. I was helped by an older woman who seemed very frustrated to be doing her job, but I get it, holiday season is busy. However she brought up my 9 inch cake and rung me up and didn't even give me a box for the cake. She left it on the counter top which I waited for a while for a box. She just went on helping other customers and did not bother to finish assisting me. Five freaking stars! The bread, pastries and cakes are all amazing and mostly importantly fresh. Depending on when you go, they may or may not have their entire inventory. Regardless, everything taste great and I love the not overly sweet palette that we both share. Everything is light and fluffy and I have yet to be disappointed. Customer service may not be the best since everyone seems to be a teenager but that is easily overlooked through their amazing product at very reasonable prices. I was driving past Amador Plaza Rd and was pleasantly surprised to see a brand new Tous Les Jours right next to Taqueria La Azteca. This bakery is a great new addition to this plaza and brings a lot of life. They have plenty of seating inside the restaurant, and tons of different baked goods to choose from. They also have a nice selection of coffee, espresso drinks, and iced drinks. The pastries range from savory hot dog and egg, to the infamous strawberry milk bun. The croquettes looked soo good and fresh, but unfortunately I wasn't hungry enough to purchase that many baked goods. They also sell macarons and full cakes here! I picked up the mini cheese bites ( pao de queijo ) and the strawberry milk bun. Prices range from $2 - $4 each, which is a bit pricier than other bakeries but this is Dublin so not that surprised. Their cakes are literally too gorgeous to eat. My sister in law brought me a strawberry cake in celebration of the birth of my daughter and it is hands down the best cake I've had. The cake itself is very moist and soft... instant gratification at first bite. The whipped frosting is very light and not to sweet like most American bakeries. I decided to drive two hours down to this bakery and picked up a few cakes for friends and family. I got to try their famous 'cloud 9' which is pretty much a fruit basket cake and it tasted very good as well. They sell cakes by the slice also but most of them were sold out when I came in late afternoon. In addition to cakes, they also have other bakery goods such as croissants and bread. Nice coffee spot. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for coffee and pastries and they were relatively busy. I was too hungry to take a picture of the hazelnut croissant I had but it was delicious! It had just the right amount of sweetness and the croissant was very flaky. I also had the traditional shaved ice which was an experience. On my way to my best friend's Meatballs and Spaghetti Thanksgiving meal, I stopped here and picked up some tasty treats. Not knowing what my friends kid's liked, I tried to stick to the basics... 1) Vanilla cake roll with white cream and sprinkles of raisins - very spongy, sweet and tasty. 2) Milk Bun endorsed by my favorite K actor of the moment, Kim Soo Hyun(nie buns)! If you like the flavor of milk, then you don't want to miss this. 3) Blueberry puff pastry - If your square, then get one of these, the square shape will compliment your personality! The blueberry filling was creamy and tasty! 4) Pumpkin bun - It's a seasonal item and completely different! It's shaped like a pumpkin and when you bit into it, a chewy mochi like texture is in the center. It surprised me in a good way. 5) Hot dog bun - what kid doesn't like hot dog, right? Well, I got schooled by a 10 year old and apparently not all kids like it! 6) Sugar coated round donut with a ball of cheese inside - terribly oily with a ball of cheese inside. Odd! So, was I the coolest Auntie when I arrived? No! Kids these days are smartie pants!! One wouldn't touch anything and the younger one said, "but you know chocolate is my favorite, Auntie!" I do?!! Cute little Korean bakery in Dublin I found on my way up to San Ramon. From other reviews and looks like it's a relatively new place. Good selection of breads and pastries some of them are creative that I haven't seen before like the chest not bread and the little blue cheese packages. I really appreciated the ingredients listing on every single product helping me select egg free pastries. I selected the little cheese rolls, sweet potato bread as well as a whole wheat walnut apple bread to try out. The little cheese rolls were actually almost mochi like which I really enjoyed with good cheddar cheese flavor. It did kind of remind me of cheeseits. Walnut Apple bread was a little dry but still good and I'm sure really good toasted with butter. I enjoyed it so much I came back the next day and like how they changed up the bread available today. I'm mainly a fan because it's so darn close to work... which may also be my downfall... This place has only been open a few short weeks and I've already been 4+ times. I blame my coworkers... I've never heard of Tous Les Jours before but I quickly realized it was as chain, there are quite a few in socal. Walking in it reminded me of a Paris Baguette or an 85 degrees. Right next to the door there's a tray and tongs for you to grab your goodies. They have a bunch of different hot dog inspired buns where as most asian places have one or two... I think I've had 3 or 4 different ones from here already. My favorite are the croquettes, super greasy and I always regret eating it afterwards, but at the time of consumption YUMMMMMM. Super crispy outside and warm filling, either the meat one or the curry one both are good. What they are famous for.... the milk breads. I was skeptical because I don't really like milk, so I opted out the first two times I was there, the 3rd time I got the plain milk bread and was pleasantly surprised. Sweet creamy insides similar to custard and a soft fresh bread. On my latest visit I got the "pink" milk bread. Strawberry milk bread cute and pink and the inside reminded me of the insides of a strawberry hello panda. The cheesy bites I wasn't too fond of.. They came in a package of 5 and reminded me of Brazilian cheese bread but not as good. I even tried it warmed up but I won't be getting that again. The Rice Topping Cheese bread is also just okay. I don't think I would be using up my calories on that one again. the bread is a crispy outside and there's cheese smeared on the inside, there wasn't enough flavor in it for me to enjoy it. They have a case of donuts.... So they have the normal twists and sugar and a bunch of donut balls filled with stuff. The donut balls have the consistency and tastes of chinese sesame balls. The cheese one, I enjoyed the cheese inside but the outside was too sweet and salty for me. I'm not fond of sweet/salty mixed things but if you do, you'll enjoy this one. I haven't tried it but my coworker loves the donut pumpkin balls. When she sees them she'll buy 4 at a time. I got a plain croissant, and their croissants are buttery, but not quite flaky like it should be. It's not bad for the price, but I rather get a croissant elsewhere. DRINKS: So far I've only had the green tea latte and it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too sweet and they didn't have a nonfat milk option when i asked? I picked up macarons for my other coworker... they are pricey for how small they are.... I think this place will do well because it's different for being out here. First time I tried I was in utter shock how deliciously yummy their pastries are. We sat down at the cafe and enjoyed some coffee with it. Fast forward covid closures and restrictions I was glad this place opened back up with pick up only option. Did I mention prices range from $2-5 a pastry, equivalent to coffee shops but the difference is that these yummy goodies are fresh and tastier. Second time around my parents bought me over 6 delicious baked goods and wow I enjoyed them very much. Can't wait to go in for brunch and enjoy life how it used to be. The cake itself is moist, the frosting is light and not too sweet, perfect pairing with the tart berries. You need to call ahead to request writing (ex. happy birthday, congratulations) as they don't do it on the spot. The almond croissant: 4 stars! Big portion, light, flaky, lots of almond paste inside.
