Love this cute little cafe that's tucked away! They have such a wide range of pastries and baked goods, including savory items! I will say, when you first go in there it's a little overwhelming because there's just so much, but it's really free range as to where you wanna go, so you aren't really holding up a line. One of my favorite details is that they basically list out all the ingredients for each items on the little cards - as someone who has some dietary restrictions, this made the selection a breeze. On my last visit, I got the whole milk bread, a mango donut, as well as a chocolate croissant. I had the croissant as a little pick me up in between some errands I had to run, and it was perfect! It wasn't too chocolaty nor was it too heavy, so it was a nice little treat! The mango donut was for my dad - for him it was a little too sweet but he said it was really good regardless. My favorite place to stop by in Chicago is Tous Les Jours, so I was extremely excited to see that there was a location in Troy! They have way more asian pastries compared to the one in Chinatown that I frequent and I love that they have hot cases to keep certain pastries warm. My mom and I's favorite was the chestnut mammoth bread! I also love traditional korean donuts and was stoked to see they had some. They also offer a variety of drinks and bingsu as well, which I will definitely have to try the next time I come! I stopped in to experience a new bakery! They have many great looking baked goods! It was hard to choose! The store is clean and well organized! There are many customers in and out. Thankfully, service is quick! The chocolate croissant and apple pie pastry I purchased were fresh and delicious! The ube latte didn't have enough flavor and they are heavy on the ice! I plan on returning to try a few other desserts... Their breads also look delicious. Moderation is key!! I'll pass on the lattes unless I see a highly favorable review on their page. I loved the ambiance! Very nice, calm, friendly. Everything I ate was delicious! Prices are definitely up there but I wouldn't call it outrageous. 4 stars instead of 5 because 1 - the hot chocolate tasted like warm/frothed milk. I scraped the chocolate shavings off my slice of cake into my cup to have a "warm milk with a hint of chocolate" flavor. And maybe they used white chocolate but yeah, there was no hint of brown in my cup until I added my own chocolate... 2 - we arrived 40 minutes before they closed. The place was busy but not packed. We were caught up in conversation (there were 4 of us) and before we knew it, it was closing time. They came from behind the counter and told all customers they were closed now. Right at the very start after entering Tous Les Jours, we saw that the pastries didn't look like they were in the best shape. Most of croissants seemed far overcooked, with dark burnt looking tops and inconsistent toppings and the sweet rice donuts looked like dried out, wrinkly balls. Not to mention that most of the pastries cost 50% more than competitors (for example, Soboro is typically around $2, here it is $3.35). We came here wanting to get a croissant, but we immediately backed off after we tapped a couple of them with the tongs and saw how hard and dry they were. We did pick up a couple of items and were not very impressed with any of them: Ube Latte, 16oz, Iced ($4.95) - Basically milk with sugar, purple food coloring, and a small amount of ube flavoring. The barista measures out how much flavoring to use, then dumps milk into a cup full of ice and then puts the flavoring on top. It makes for a cool looking effect but you have to mix it yourself or else the ube flavor barely comes at all until you get near the bottom of the drink. And when it does come out, it tastes artificial. Not a good drink but good visuals I guess. Pain Au Chocolat ($3.95) - This pastry is quite small with a nice egg wash on top. The texture is very chewy, no sense of flakiness as would be expected of a pastry made from a proper croissant dough. Most likely due to the use of shortening or margarine rather than butter. Reminds me of a typical low quality grocery store pain au chocolat. Mini Green Tea Buttercream ($2.95) - I was expecting something like a soft and tender shokupan or milk bread texture, but this turned out to be quite tough and somewhat stale like it had been sitting on the counter for a couple of days. Kind of like a piece of sandwich bread that is on the way to becoming a crouton. The buttercream inside was appropriately sweetened and had a great matcha flavor but I'm not sure if it's made with 100% real butter based on the texture and mouthfeel. I'm honestly not sure why Tous Les Jours is so popular. The quality and craftsmanship of their pastries/breads is poor, their drinks are pedestrian, and their prices are way higher than they have any right to be based on the quality of ingredients being used. read more

I love coming to this cafe to study and grab a pastry and drink. My go- to is the matcha frappe and coffee bun. The matcha frappe is icy sweet and taste like good semi sweet bitter matcha 10/10. Their coffee buns have that lighting sweet crusted glaze on top with an air pocket in the center with an almost almond like filling- very subtle 10/10. This is a wonderful bakery in Troy with some unique treats! It's super clean and the staff are very nice and always helpful whenever I have question. Granted, I always get the same two things but inquire about other items often! Mainly my go to's are the Honey lavender latte which is tasty but the REAL winner here are the sweet potato cakes. They come in small single pouches and they are delectable! They're so many more items to choose from like cheesecake, macaroons and more. I was first intrigued by Tous Les Jours because I love all things French and the name caught my eye. When I walked in, however, I was pleasantly surprised that it was a type of French/Asian blend of tasty pastry treats. I was also happy they offered savory pastries as well as sweet because I'm more of a savory girl, so there's something for everyone! My first visit, I got a good mix of savory and sweet pastries. The savory was like the pastries I always get at the Asian markets and it had meat and garlic and wqs so good! All the pastries are as soft as clouds! I came back again and asked one of the lovely workers what he liked most and he pointed out the yaro bread with the yaro cream filling. OH..MY...GOD when I bit into it was like soft pillowy clouds! The cream was lightly sweet and not overpowering sweetness, and the beautiful lavendar color was esthetically pleasing since purple is my favorite color. Think twinky but a gourmet twinky that's SO MUCH BETTER! I devoured the whole thing, no regrets! Lol. The drinks are equally as good and there's so many different flavors to choose from teas and coffees to fruity drinks. I've tried the lavendar latte and the butter pecan latte and they were both very good. They even sell ground/whole coffee. This bakery is amazing! I rode pass a few times not exactly sure what it was and a friend of mine recommended going between were near by and boy am I glad she did! She recommended the garlic creamed cheese stuff bagel and it was such a hit. My friend suggested I try Tous Les Jours because she knows I love a good pastry. It's located in a small strip of stores and is easy to drive by if you're not paying attention. When I first walked in I was a little overwhelmed. The beautiful large glass displays easily show the wide variety of pastries available. I have been here a couple of times now and just wish I would've come sooner! I have yet to go wrong trying anything here. From coffee to pastry to croquettes and breads they have it! The garlic cream cheese bread is one of my top picks along with the warm curry croquettes. I've tried a jalapeño croissant as well as the chocolate covered and both are delicious and flaked layers. The americanos here are bold and strong how I like. My husband really like the matcha frappe too! If I had one of these any closer I'd be broke but happy haha I don't think i mind all my money going to pastries my belly is happy. I really should preemptively give this place 5/5 stars but going with 4 stars for now. I live five minutes away and had never tried it. I need to fast all weekend for a medical procedure so I felt like treating myself today. The inside is nice and airy, and there are lots of tables if you feel like dining in - there is also a small patio outside which faces Crooks Rd. You grab a tray if you're getting any grab-and-go items, which I didn't know, but I saw others doing it, so I grabbed one. I ended up getting: -Sweet Potato "Pie" (more like a flaky pie/croissant): this was intriguing as I haven't seen sweet potato used much in croissants. Overall it was good but very savory-tasting vs. sweet -Red bean cream bun: haven't tried this one yet, got it for my mom. -Chocolate cloud cake: a friend posted a pic of this from IG and it looked fantastic. I'd give it like 3.5/5 - I prefer sweeter desserts so that is probably why. There are strawberries on the bottom but I can't have strawberries/seeded fruits today so I had to skip that part. -Matcha cloud cake: also looks good, haven't tried it yet. They had a huge selection of items, even though I went later in the day too (1pm on a Friday), which was impressive. They also had samples, I think I sampled some sort of cream bread. There was a slight line at checkout but it moved quickly. It is probably a good thing that it's a bit pricier here, otherwise I'd be coming here way too much, haha ... four items cost me $19, but that's because I purchased two slices of cake ($6.00-$6.25 each). They do have some croissants and other smaller items, like the red bean bun, which are $2-3, and they had some savory lunch items like croque monsieur too which looked excellent. Honestly, no idea why it's named this when it's an Asian bakery, so that definitely threw me off for a very long time until more recently through word of mouth people told me this was actually an Asian bakery! So I went all excited and got a whole selection of items to try because there are SO many classics here! The result? Everything is delicious! You can't go wrong with any of the classic milk buns, red bean, mochi, cheese cake, taro, custard, ALL OF IT! Everything is so good and get a ton and pop them in the freezer so you can have a delicious bun every day of the week! I will definitely be incorporating this into my grocery runs to H Mart since they are located so close to one another and be keeping this in mind for special events that warrant a nice cake because their cake display had so many beauts that I definitely have my eye on! First time reviewing, ordered many times before. Was in the mood for bing su. Got the mango bing su. $16. It tastes as good as it looks. Fresh mango surrounding shaved powdery ice topped off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with scattered marshmallows - perfect. At time of ordering there were... 4 other mango bing su orders ahead of me! That's how popular it was! It was a good 20 minute wait and I stood eagerly waiting for the bing su ice maker to churn out ice for each order. If you order it, bring friends/family with you! it can feed four. I only had me and one other person in my party. We brought the leftovers home (about half), separated the mango (fridge) and melted ice (freezer) then combined the half melted frozen mixture with refrigerated mango and VOILA experience *almost* re-created. Bing su from Tous Les Jours is no worse than others like Meet Fresh (now closed?) and others I've tasted from Canada. I'm looking forward to trying others like Red Bean and Green Tea. Hands down my favorite place to study! It offers plenty of seating, so even during the busiest of times, I have been able to find a seat. Additionally, it has large windows that span the entire store, so there is plenty of natural light, which creates a very peaceful ambiance. Regardless of how busy it has been, I have never felt it was too loud. You take a tray as you walk in and choose what you want. They have both sweet and savory items. The buttercream bread is a white bread with whipped cream between each slice. Absolutely delicious! I'm not sure how I hadn't heard of Tous Les Jours, but now that I have it's become a regular stop for me while in Troy. Each time I try to get a mix of both sweet and savory items. Savory items: The potato cheese bread is an absolute must have. There are three in an order, and the small bread is filled with creamy mashed potatoes and topped with shredded cheese. Slightly sweet but still salty, it is the perfect breakfast snack. The sausage roll was also phenomenal. The mayo, ketchup, and cheese elevated this roll above all other hot rolls on display. The curry croquette was good, but a bit on the soggy side. I also enjoyed the Croque Monsieur, but note that it is made with American cheese on the inside. Sweet Items: I have tried 3 of the Cloud cake slices- chocolate, strawberry, and the white cake. After having all three I would rate the white Cloud cake as the best. We ended up ordering a fullsize cake, and it was worth every penny. Instead of a sugary frosting, it is coated in a dense whipped cream. The fresh strawberry layered inside the cake adds a very sweet and refreshing flavor compared to the slightly less sweet cake and frosting. It should be noted that this bakery (like many other Asian bakeries) typically make their desserts much less sweet than our American bakeries. I have also had a variety of their buns including the red bean bread, choco cream bread, and the milk cream bread. All were good basically breads. I have had their iced vanilla latte which was very well made, as well as their strawberry lemonade. The lemonade appeared to be sparkling, which was a nice surprise. There is indoor seating for those who wish to dine in, and they will serve your pastries on a plate if you choose to do so. They also have an outside patio with umbrellas on the table offering a good amount of shade. TLJ has very nice packaging for their carryout items, and I felt my cake slice was secure in it's tiny box. Their branding is also very nice. I am excited to continue sampling the menu at Tous Les Jours, and I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates a lovely baked good. read more

I got so excited when they opened up a new bakery, especially when I found out it is French-Asian inspired. The baked goods are so fresh and light. I could eat their milk bread very morning and not get sick of it. The selections vary from day-to-day, but you'll never be disappointed. I've never had anything there that I didn't like. I've gotten their cakes for multiple occasions and the cloud cake is my absolute favorite. So light and fluffy. Tous Les Jours is a true gem in Troy! This French-Asian bakery does everything right, with delicious pastries and a variety of coffee flavors that make every cup worthwhile. My friend recommended this place and it did not disappoint. It all looked so fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back to try the strawberry bread, the honey mochi things and a few others. I could have easily spent $100 in there. The prices are really the only drawback.. But hey, we live in a capitalist heckscape, and they have to survive as a business so I get it. I won't dock them any stars for it because it's just a sign of the times. And their baked goods definitely live up to the hype. I just won't be able to go as often as I'd like.
