Warm atmosphere, tasty cocktails, and pleasant music. The covered parking was definitely a plus. The food was good but could use some improvement. We arrived around 4:30 PM and it was a bit too hot to sit comfortably outside. One downside was having to stand in line to order both food and drinks. We waited about 10 minutes each time, and it would have been much nicer with table service. Overall, a nice spot with a great vibe, especially for drinks and relaxing by the beach.

We have wanted to try this place for sometime and finally made it one afternoon. We were greeted by a hostess and handed menus and told to seat ourselves and order at the bar. It wasn't very busy so that made it easy to find a table. I tried the Tower39 spritz and it tasted like a flat orange soda and cost $17. The sliders are made with roast beef, which was odd, but we gave them a try. The pretzel bun was a nice choice, but the roast beef wasn't good at all. We also shared a Cobb salad which had a great presentation and was fresh, the dressing was awful and ruined the salad. We appreciated all the comfortable seating and the view. This is one of a few rooftops in Carlsbad we were very disappointed.

I finally made it over here, after hearing about this place awhile back. It was a bit confusing as we had to wait at the host stand, but then had to seat ourselves. Also it was kinda hard knowing if the seats were available or not as there would be a number sign on the table but no one there. Eventually we realized they just don't take the number signs off once food arrives which adds to the confusion. The drinks were good, but the food wasn't. The fries we got weren't crisp at all, which I can't stand limp fries. Also, besides seating yourself you also have to order both your drinks and food at the bar...which can make the line rather long. Overall, nice place to catch the sunset and drink, but that's about it.

Casual rooftop bar with beautiful ocean views, playing chill, pop music at a volume that s still conversational. Most of the tables are well-covered with umbrellas and comfortable seating, and a few lounge style tables. Reasonably priced food and hefty portions. Happy hour drinks Sunday to Thurs 4:30 - 5:30. Pretzel bites were delicious - soft, doughy, and perfectly salted and buttered. The strawberry pear-adise cocktail was bold fruity flavors, a bit on the sweeter side, and good pour of vodka. They have 6 So cal beers on draft, and good selection of other specialty cocktails and drinks. There isn't a waitstaff so you need to order drinks at the bar, and they'll drop off food. It takes quite a while for tables to get bussed after people leave. Bartenders aren't the quickest so it does take a bit of time to order. Theres 1 big tv behind the bar, but really only visible when you're waiting in line ordering. Underground parking is validated with purchase greater than $50.

Perched atop the Spring Hill Suites hotel on Carlsbad Blvd. in the heart of the Village is Tower39 Rooftop Lounge. The lounge has a dedicated elevator that can be accessed from the sidewalk below, so patrons don't need to enter the hotel. The lounge is really nice. Sweeping views of the beach and ocean and Carlsbad Blvd. Comfy chairs, a lot of tables and seating. They also have comfy sofa seating and several really nice fire pits. We were there on a sunny 80-degree afternoon, so they weren't lit of course. I'd bet they are really nice at night. The vibe is upscale casual. I was perfectly comfortable in my shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. Prices were a bit high as one would expect from a hotel's lounge. $9 pints of beer. Only canned seltzers and they were $7. A seltzer (Ashland, or Brewery X or similar craft) would be nice. I enjoyed a pint of Tower39 El Capitán Mexican Lager. Bex opted for a White Claw seltzer. We did not try any food offerings. Service was a bit slow, but it was pretty busy and only one bartender was working. The bar is really nice, by the way. Yes. We will return to Tower39 the next time we're in Carlsbad.

Best part of my experience here was the drinks, they were very refreshing! For the food, everything tasted fine but nothing special. I upgraded my waffle fries to garlic parm and they still tasted pretty plain. We were shocked to find out that you had to go to the bar to order food and drinks. While ordering, the bartender was not the friendliest and we felt extremely rushed (there was maybe one or two parties behind us in line). The photos on yelp of the ambiance and rooftop seating excited us but we were a little underwhelmed. The seating did not look as presentable in person as the pictures and it felt dirty. Overall, it was not a terrible experience but not what we had hoped for!

To be fair we came midday on a Thursday I wanna say but wow, so worth it!!! The views were beautiful, very chill place to have a nice lunch up there. The cocktails we had were excellent, also got a very tasty mocktail. We split a salad, app, and sandwich, everything was so tasty!! Good portions and good food for a good price. Since it was so empty we ordered at the bar but it all worked out and the service was good while we were there. Definitely a chill place to catch some food, drinks, and a view!

We were here for vacation and stayed across the street.You take the elevator to the roof and you get a great view of the Carlsbad beach. You have to make your food and drink order at the bar. Isabel took our order and she was very nice. I got the Karl Strauss red trolley ale. We ordered three flatbreads and pretzel bites. These were all hand delivered from the head chef Exton he was great as well. Kelly the manager was hustling everywhere making sure it was a smooth operation. She checked on us frequently. I ended up leaving my backpack there and they put it at the front desk. Mary and Tyler were also incredible at the bar!! What an excellent restaurant and atmosphere. Like a family. Very impressed

What a great find! First of all, the view is fantastic. Enjoy your lunch/dinner while overlooking the ocean. You can't beat it! The food is very good. I had the buffalo wings, and they were great. Well cooked, crispy, and spicy! I also really liked the pretzel bites. Probably the most generous helping of pretzel bites I've ever had. My wife really enjoyed her tomato bisque and Mediterranean Breeze wrap. The service was very helpful and friendly! Tyler was attentive including bringing us a heater next to our table when the wind picked up. Come before 3:00 for 15% off everything! Tower 39 Rooftop is a very cool spot. We will definitely visit anytime we are in town!

I have lived in the oceanside area for a couple years now and I can confidently say this is such a reliable place for quality service, atmosphere, vibes, and quality taste. I always bring out of town visitors or just a sunday-funday with friends. Tyler always creates such a fun and easy going enviroment by providing excellent service and great drinks. Stopped by here for a drink over the weekend 30 minutes before sunset and there was seating available. It's located at the top of spring hill suites. Nice view and nice staff. Cocktails and wine are $18. I ordered the tower 39 spritz which was tasty. My husband had a whiskey and ginger beer which was ok. Found this spot on Yelp. It is on top of the Springhill Suites and there weren't many people there when we got there about 4. I wish there were more umbrellas because the sun was pretty brutal for us fair skinned people. We didn't last too long up there. I would assume it gets much busier around sunset when the sun isn't an issue. The drinks average. We all only had one. I recommend you make a reservation and come at sunset to really appreciate this spot. read more

I would have given this place a 5 if not for what happened as we were leaving. To start with, great location and ambience. Prices were par for a tourist place so that was not surprising. The staff was very accommodating and professional. As for the food, we ordered the happy hour hummus and flatbread. Both were very good and flavorful. So all was good. After we paid our bill, we used the restroom and one of the cooks was also using the bathroom. She was very nice and engaging but did not wash her hands. This really bothered us knowing that we just ate their food. I hope the business sees my review and does a staff training on hand hygiene and disease. I'm in healthcare so this is something we are hyper vigilant about. Please do a training before you spread disease to your customer. I would have scored lower but she was so nice and hope this is heard. read more

The food is 5/10. Mostly carbs and two light choices- the wedge salad was subpar. Drinks are nothing special but not bad. What is bad is the bartender- he is short with customers (only 10 on the whole roof) as if there were 100 people there or something of the sort. Unappealing "here's your beer,now go" type demeanor. Real buzz kill. The rooftop and ocean view make the visit worth it. I do recommend visiting. Hell, the bartender will soon either improve or get replaced. read more

I had been here a few months back a couple times and was not impressed with the service or prices. However, some friends wanted to go a few days ago and said the view would be worth it, so I tried it again. I was pleasantly surprised by the much improved service, it seemed like a new manager (Marc?) is on the staff team. He was very professional and friendly, he accommodated my pesky questions about the menu and drinks. I did tell him hopefully more choices in wine selection would be great and I do think the cocktail prices are still too high. I will come back as the sunset views are great and customer service seemed much improved! read more

Open 1 month- so there are some bugs that need to be worked out but this rooftop bar has some great potential! Creative cocktail menu and a good amount of seating with heaters and fire-pits. Great ocean views. Small menu, but with good sharable offerings. Although our party did not order food, those at tables next to us who did seemed to be waiting a really long time, even for just a single order of fries. But I am confident that they will work out the bugs and this will be a great option for visitors and locals alike. Looking forward to visiting again and enjoying the sunset colors! read more

The entire interaction felt dismissive and almost hostile and condescending (insinuating I can't understand because of my ethnicity and that he was actively trying to make me leave rather than provide basic service or information) It was especially disappointing on a holiday when hospitality standards should be at their best. No amount of busyness excuses such rude, impatient, and condescending behavior toward a guest who was simply trying to ask a reasonable question. The hostesses were extremely nice and explained to me the difference between cabana, restaurant, and the pool seating for hotel guests vs non guests. This place is incredible! The oceanside view is absolutely gorgeous, and the atmosphere is super fancy but still comfortable. The drinks were on point, the menu had so many great options, and the bartenders clearly know their craft. What really made the night special, though, was Raul, the supervisor. He was so friendly and welcoming--he made me feel like a total VIP. His energy and kindness just added to the amazing atmosphere.
