I came into Town Fair Tire on a Saturday afternoon for an alignment, and the place was relatively busy. The line was almost out the door however they had 3-4 guys at the front so I barely had to wait. I had recently replaced my power steering rack a few days prior so my alignment was a mess. I didn't think an alignment could cause your car to feel so unsafe and off while driving. I was starting to think that there was something else wrong with my vehicle and I'd have a shopping list full of issues on my way out. I was in and out of that store within 20 minutes. They had a tidy little waiting area which offered complimentary coffee and vending machines with snacks and other varieties of drinks. They also had three flat screen TVs on the wall, 2 displayed video footage of your car being worked on ( which I thought was pretty cool) and the 3rd tv had sports. When I got my car back I was thrilled that the problem was fixed and that there was nothing else wrong with it. All the employees seemed very helpful, informative and friendly. I've been a good customer of Town Fair Tire for years having bought many sets of tires from them. Without question their prices are unbeatable and the service has always been good. Their salemen have always been helpful and don't try to oversell. I few weeks ago I purchased a full set of tires for my Mercedes which a salesman helped me select. It's still early but the tires have met my expectations so far. Unfortunately during the installation one of my rims was damaged which I didn't notice until about a week later. I contacted Adam the store manager who was excellent to deal with. After reviewing the situation he took responsibility on behalf of the store, explained what may have happened and arranged to quickly have the rim repaired. What stands out to me is how Adam handled the situation throughout. He was professional in every contact we had. I started going here years ago when they first opened. A friend from CT recommended them. I did my research and found THE best price for my tire. They beat it. They always do. I like this location because its a quick walk over to Pier One (which means they could take hours on my car, shhh don't tell). They offer free tire rotations when you buy your tires from them. I almost never write a review in a negative manner, but after experiencing a business transaction with this location of Town Fair Tire, I felt compelled to do so. Yesterday I ordered a set of OEM tires for my daughter's vehicle and was quoted a price which was agreed to and set up an appointment for installation. Upon arriving at this location we were greeted by another person (other than whom I dealt with). I will leave his name out of this review only as a courtesy that he may improve his customer relation skills. The gentleman that was helping us stated that the tires we ordered had arrived for installation, but they were 225 instead of 255/55R18 which is the OEM size tire for that year and model Subaru Tribeca B9. I was told that "I" gave him the wrong size tire on the phone. He told me that I was the one that gave him the wrong size tire (which is incorrect). After 33 years in the automobile industry and replacing tires on all makes and models, I had the OEM size in front of me when I asked for them. He remained adamant about me being the wrong party to which point I left. As I walked out of the store, he told my daughter the tires would cost more, but he could get them. After a 30 minute drive and the treatment; no thanks!!!!! I will give my business to someone else. To add insult to injury, I called the corporate office to voice my concern and received the same sort of treatment from the customer relations manager. Nothing but excuses and no relevant concerns to make things right. We are paying more for the tires at another vendor (it's not always about the price). After my conversation with the person at the corporate location, Town Fair Tire will not receive any further business from the dealerships I oversee (9 total). There are several occasions when I need tires ASAP, but as of today my business goes elsewhere. They need to know what "Customers for Life" means in the long term for any company! These are the numbers at the end of the month that a business manager cannot see. If the numbers are down on repeat business, this review is one to carefully look at. Thank you for 15 years down the drain. Figure out the numbers lost over the term in years and how much future business will be lost. I now turn my business over to Tire Warehouse. It's truly sad when a negative experience can damage so many years as a satisfied customer. I would skip Tire Fair Tire and go with another vendor. read more

I don't want to even give this establishment one star! My daughter bought four snow tires from the Salem NH location. She noticed her steering wheel was shaking going down the road (Bad Tire Balance). She brought it back to them to re-balance the tires; steering wheel still shaking. ****Their techs "do not re-spin" the tires after they apply the weights to see if the balance is proper (Operator Error). I brought the car to my garage and the tires were spun on the wheel balance with the weights the Town Fair people on them. "All four tires were out of balance a lot." What a waist of time. My garage took the time to do the job right and the car is running very smooth now; no thanks to Town Fair Tire. Their techs are either not trained how to do the job right the first time or they just don't care. Either way, I would steer clear of Town Fair. read more

I went to get all four tires replaced and they were suppose to send me a $70 gift card in the mail. The gift card never arrived. The front desk guy who said he took care of it...didn't. Lets just say last time I will ever go to Townfair tires!!! I booked my appointment 5 days in advanced. Called 3 times to make sure of my order and schedule only because I had a bad experience before with them. I rearranged my day to be able to drop my car early to leave there. I dropped car off drove all the way home (21 min drive) to then get a call that the tires were not ordered and they could not do today. I then asked to talk to a manager to complain and it's literally just kids running the place with no one responsible enough to take responsibly for their mistake. They act like it's no big deal and their customer service in dealing with this was just horrible. They will no longer see any of my 3 cars there again for sure. If there was a rating of no Star that would be my choice so one star will have to do. read more

One employee could ruin the whole experience. First off, I dealt with a very helpful guy, Eric, who assisted with the tire purchase. Don't know much about tires but he was super helpful and hopefully he recommended a good tire , time will only tell. However, my 1 star rating is because I know for a fact whoever drove my car in took change from my coin tray. Stupid me for leaving bunch of loose change in my car but I should have known. I took before and after pictures of my coin tray and clearly things were moved around. Hope the $2 in quarters you took was worth this review. read more

I bought a new car with summer sport tires and needed a new winter wheel/tire setup. I checked online and called a half dozen local shops. Town Fair Tire had the best price by far. Joe did a great job with the quoting process and requested a quick look at the car to ensure the smaller wheel/snow tire combo would work. I scheduled a morning appointment in mid-October and my car was taken promptly. They installed TPMS sensors that I brought with me and put my summer tires in bags and then inside wheel covers (that I also brought with me) before loading them into the car. A week later I randomly stopped back for a lugnut check as recommended and to have tire pressure checked. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. This week I received the tire rebate card in the mail. I'm very satisfied with the service I have received and would not hesitate to recommend Town Fair Tire (in fact I was sharing my experience and a friend purchased her tires there as well). read more

Rarely do I write a bad review, but they deserve it and the public deserves fair warning. I will NEVER come here again for a simple tire rotation. 1.5 hours and counting and that's with an appointment, they have two empty bays, and on a Tuesday at 4:00! The service people (yes it took two of them) to tell me that's a really good return time for my vehicle with and appt?!?!? If I didn't have an appointment they said it would take at least three hours! Seriously? A tire rotation should take like 30 mins max. So dissatisfied. I guess when you buy the tires here they treat you terribly when you ask them to honor their free rotation offering. Too bad, I'll never buy from them again. read more

I brought my truck in for a tire sensor replacement. The technician came out two hours later and informed me that they had broken the side wall of my three year old tire removing it from the rim. They didn't have my size and type of tire in stock so they had to order it. Now I am stuck driving my pickup truck two hours to and from work with my spare tire that it two sizes to small. Also they were only willing to replace the one tire they broke even though they always recommend replacing tires in sets. Extremely disappointed. I will never use this ripoff chain again. read more

He showed me several tires in a range of prices and his provided his opinion but never pressured me to buy the most expensive ones. I got 4 tires and fortunately they were on sale. They told me it would be 90-120 minutes to do the work and it was done in about an hour. Overall very happy with the customer service and work. read more

Nice crew, responsive as soon as I walked in. Tires feel great so far! Update - got a bubble in one of the 7 month old tires from a nasty pothole. Have generally been pleased with Town Fair Tire when getting new tires, but today I made an appointment at 1:30pm to get my wheels/tires swapped for the winter tires I got here. It is now 4:30 and they have not yet started on my car. When I asked, they said "well, if you didn't have an appointment you would have waited 7 hours." I replied, "yes, but I had an appointment at 1:30 that you gave me." Their reply, "that's why we tell you to drop the car off" Totally unprofessional and rude. Absolutely disgusted with this place. Found what tires I needed via their website last nite. Got there today oh surprise they had none in stock. The guy wanted to sell me another pair $20 more. I had a fantastic experience at Town Fair Tire in Salem, NH. My car failed inspection yesterday, as I was told the tread on my right front tire was dangerously low and the other 3 tires were just shy of the same thing. The mechanic at the shop I went to for inspection was going to charge me an obscene amount of money to replace all 4 tires on my tiny civic coupe, so I looked around. However, I didn't have much time to spare as I'm going away this weekend and driving a car full of friends, and I did not want to leave anything to chance (ironic since I don't regularly use my car anymore). Now I am always wary of trying out a new mechanic or shop, as I am a female and have been over-sold to in the past, but my sister highly recommended Town Fair Tire in Salem and I didn't have time to lose. I showed up at 8am the next morning when they opened. Marco immediately helped me out -- he listened to me and understood the situation, then talked to me about the type of tires that my car required and what the different price points entailed. He then took my car in right away to get the job done. The price point of the tires I purchased was incredible compared to what I was quoted the day before, the tires are higher quality than the original factory tires that were on my car, and the service I experienced was better than I could have imagined. I had confidence that I was in good hands, and an experience that usually gives me anxiety ended up being stress-free and actually enjoyable. I got one tire replaced here and the next day the tire had a bubble on the side. Turns out the tire was overinflated by about 50%. The only way it got overinflated is that they did it. The manager was apologetic but I still had to buy a replacement tire at cost. I will not go back. read more

I bought a winter tire/summer rim package from this company. I had them take my stock tires off the stock rims, mount the new winter tire purchase onto the stock rims, and mount the stock tires onto my new chrome rims. They not only hacked ALL FOUR RIMS down the the clear coat removing the tire weights off of the stock rims, they refused to do the right thing by having the rims refinished. I seriously can't believe that this company is still in business. If you need tires or rims, AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!! On a side note, I brought my new truck into their shop with 1,500 miles on it. I wasn't out to get anything for free. I just wanted them to do the right thing and fix the mistake they created. read more

I had a flat tire that needed to be patched. Stopped in at lunch time and I was in and out in 20 mins. They were able to repair the tire. They took my fullsize spare off, put the newly repaired tire on and tucked away my spare under my trucks bed. Excellent service and price. $3.95 to repair, mount & balance my tire. I came across this tire shop online, selected my tires online and made an appointment with the shop. The installation was a snap -- I was in-and-out of the shop in less than 40 minutes. However, on my way back on I-93, I discovered very noticeable vibration coming from the steering wheel and the floor, none of which was present before the tire swap. So, I turned and went back to the shop, asking for a re-balance. The rep told me it usually takes time for the tire to break-in, so the issue may go away on its own. Nonetheless, they performed another balancing and then I drove for more than 100 miles over the weekend. The vibration did not improve at all. So on Monday, I called them and went to the shop again to swap out the tires with another set. I asked them to check the alignment too. Same vibration remained. Frustrated, I went to another shop to perform a road-force balancing ($80), and the tech at the other shop showed me that two of the tires had a noticeable high spot, which could be the source of the problem. With that, I called the Town Fair Tires shop again. They did not like the fact that I went to another shop for balancing and did not believe that 8 tires (2 sets) were out of round. They suspect the problem is due to the speed rating of the tires ("H") which is different from the OEM ("V"). Frankly, for a vanilla passenger car (Camry), nobody will drive anywhere near the "V" speed rating limit (149 mph). "H" rating (130 mph) should be plentiful. Moreover, the online tire shopping tool allowed me to purchase the "H" rating tires even after I entered my make and model information. Curiously, when I went back to the website later on, the "H" rated tires are now on special order. Nonetheless, Town Fair Tires agreed to swap the "V" rating tires for me with no extra cost and promised to have the most experienced tech to perform the mounting and balancing. Looks like 3rd time is a charm and the tires are now running smoothly and quietly. What I suspect happened is that the "H" rated tires probably came from the very last batch of their inventory and a high percentage of them were defective. Overall, way more hassles than expected (3 trips to the shop + $80 extra for a second opinion balancing), but kudos should be given to the team at Town Fair Tire for the prompt responses each time. read more

Even though it was extremely busy and they had technically stopped taking new business for the day (it was close to closing time), they took my case and fixed my tire. I had to drive a bunch of kids from our church youth group to do a service project early the next morning, so they really came through for me! I highly recommend this location! read more

Bought some snow tires here in November. Price was equal to the online price. Installation of 4 tires plus balance and 4 wheel alignment took all of 1.25 hours on a Monday afternoon. They did charge extra ($15) for balancing per tire plus $49 for the 4 wheel alignment, so $100 extra over the quoted tire price that had all sorts of inclusions just not the stuff one needs. Their waiting area is bad. Surrounded by tires (literally) and no wi-fi. Did walk two stores down and used the Barnes Nobles wifi. read more

Bought my winter tires here about 5-6 months ago and everything seemed to go well since they had mounted and balanced 4 tires fairly quickly. When I asked if I could see the print out of my alignment, the guy at the front desk couldn't provide one for me, and then someone else (guessing the manager on duty) said you don't get a printout unless something is wrong. Well that led me to believe they did not do the alignment because as soon as I got on the highway, the car was pulling to the left, and the tires were out of balance as well, confirmed by another townfair tire a couple days later. Also my tire light is on permanately now since I've had the tires put on, guessing they ruined one of the sensors and apparently they can't replace/reprogram them. I'll only goto townfair for warranty work now as far as my tires go. read more
