I just had a set of Pirelli's put on my car. TFT provided solid service and good recommendations. I didn't like extra charges for 4-wheel alignment - for $50 bucks I'll think about it - but they do offer free front wheel alignment. They should offer wheel cleaning too. Advice: just do a full alignment, offer wheel cleaning and keep the customer 100% happy. When a customer spends $$$ minor touches will keep people coming in. read more

No response from Townfair Tire. Having the wrong sized tires (too small) installed and driving on them for years I would assume put my family's safety at risk. Not to mention all the extra money I had to spend to constantly put my car back in alignment that I shouldn't have had to spend in the first place if they installed the correct sized tires that I purchased. I went to Town Fair Tire this week to replace my tire. I met the nicest salesman, Nick Sirois (sorry if I butchered your last name). We had a new tire picked out in minutes. He explained that the service department could change it for me that night. I was so impressed. I waited not even 20 minutes before they called my name to say my car was done. When I called the Salem store Keith answered the phone in an extremely professional manner and gave me a quote on the type of tire I was looking for. I did not have a brand in mind but indicated that safety was important as this is my family vehicle. Keith explained to me my options as well as pricing in a way that I understood which allowed me to make a more educated decision. I came in and he was friendly and personable, he made the entire experience so easy. As a woman, it can be difficult shopping for items of this nature on my own, so it was helpful to have someone so knowledgeable on my side showing me the way! They won't sell you a single tire on your car and make up all kinds of excuses for it, but if you drive to the parking lot next door and roll the tire over -- no problem! Went to TFT to have snow tires put on my car. I made my appointment a week in advance, and had the store order the tires. Showed up first thing in the morning, and 30 minutes early for my appointment, to find out 2 of the 4 tires had been sold, and they would need to get the tires from another store. At this point I was promised my car back by mid day which would have been fine. Of course that didn't happen, and then they had to change their tune and tell me they could have my car by 4pm, which was a major inconvenience for me. Of course, they couldn't hold to that promise either, and I ended up with my car at close to 5pm. When I showed up to get my car I was told that I was all set and my car was ready to go. (I'll come back to this fact in a moment). At this point, I asked for a partial refund to compensate me for wasting my day without a car, when I had this booked a week in advance, and was promised my car at two different times. The tech had to get the sales rep I worked with earlier to handle this issue. When I brought up my issues with their service to him, I was told that he couldn't help me (which I interpreted as he was unwilling to do so to protect his commission), because I had "price matched" him. Here's a company that advertises a benefit of price matching, and when you take them up on the offer, they get very defensive, and refuse to help you out after they screw you over. At this point the story still isn't done, as the tech explains that "you got a new set of lug nuts out of this", as if that's supposed to make me feel better. My comment from the last paragraph is pertinent because no where in my paperwork was this detail, nor did the tech who was handing me my keys back, know to tell me this (if I didn't complain about the wasted day, they would have happily let me drive off). I didn't ask for a set of lug nuts, and my car arrived in the morning with a set of wheel locks on the tires. When I was told I got new lug nuts I went back to the car, and saw a bag of the old lug nuts.... which upon further examination, was missing my wheel locks! Somehow the store manager, who worked on my car, BROKE a lug nut, and then instead of calling me, chose to throw away three perfectly fine lug nuts, and the locking key, and then not tell me about it! In summary, my tires were ordered and sold out from under me, my car was promised and not delivered at 2 different times, they threw away my wheel locks without telling me, and when I asked for any compensation the sales rep got super defensive because I had taken them up on their price matching offer earlier in the day. The only benefit I give them, is they ordered a new set of wheel locks, but when this was explained to me, their attitude came off as if they were doing me a favor rather than correcting their own error. I found the whole experience deplorable from a customer service standpoint, and the few dollars I may have saved by going there isn't worth being treated this way. I will never take my family's business there again. read more

They torqued my lug nuts sooo tight, I could not get them off at home. Ended up having to replace a few of the lugs and bolts. They are SUPPOSE to get them to a certain level and then 'hand tighten' but these guys with air guns don't know how to do their job. I'd rather pay more then to deal with a "tire company" that can't properly put a lug not on a tire ! read more

First time using town fair tire...and the last. My 2014 Tundra needed a tire rotation so since I was on a day off thought I would try them since I live in town. BTW my vehicles, all five of them, have always gone to the dealers, Lexus, Toyota, BMW, ford and Harley Davidson. I found the staff rude, condescending and not informative. I opted for a rotate and balance and an alignment for $100. I asked if they do a four wheel alignment and they said yes. Then they asked where the key for the wheel locks is and I said it must be where it is from the factory. Found my glove boxes rummaged through. I had asked them to be sure and reset the maintenance light also. They said drive the car for ten minutes and it will turn off. I told them I never had to do that before in any of my five Tundras but he said that will work. Drove around for thirty minutes, light still on. Went back to them and he insisted it will go off. It of course didn't because it needs to BE reset. They didn't know how to do it so I wound up doing it myself after reading the manual. Those guys are the worst customer service people I have ever seen. They were more interested in chit chatting amongst themselves . I have had my own retail business for over ten years. Those guys seem to be relying on their reputation rather than treating customers with respect. Now I'm wondering what the quality of work they did to my truck is. I'll just take it to the dealer anyway to check on what they did or didn't do. One of my xmas gifts from my wife of 41 years this year is tires and wheels for the truck. April 23, I went to Town Fair to purchase tires. I had a 11 am appointment. Truck went in fairly quickly, but the manager told me at first it would be 2 to 3 hours. I asked for them to put my old tires in the pick up bed. When I opened the tailgate all oil came out. I had a container of oil secured in the bed and they crushed it when they placed the old tires. I was angry that the technician that made the mess left like that for me to clean up. He never said anything and I supposed I wasn't going to see it. I instantly told the manager who turned around and gave a rag to an employee who wiped it with 409 . While oil dripped all over my tailgate. When I got home I off loaded the old tires and noticed one was not mine, again I had to go back. Unprofessional job, and careless employees. Went by TFT 3/16/16 at 4:05p to have low tire warning checked. gentlemen was very cordial, checked my tires and discovered a nail in one. Told me it would be $3.95 to repair and would take half hour. I had appt at 5p but wanted tire fixed so I agreed. Went inside and paid. Checked my clock it was 4:15p. 30 minutes later, when it was suppose to be done, my car was still sitting in the parking lot. I went to desk and explained I had an appt in 15 min, how quickly could this be done? He told me I was next. In the meantime, on the screen view of cars worked on, I see another car go in ahead of mine. I asked another man what the story was and he said there was still one ahead of me. At the point, the original man said he was sorry, he didn't realize they were shorthanded back there! Seriously? The store opens at 8am and it was almost 5p! I asked if I could go to my dr appt and come back by 5:45 and get it done and I was told no because they close at 6, but they stop taking appts at 5:30! They said if I wanted I could "make an appt" for the next day or so. At that point I asked for a refund and left. VERY POOR CS and not at all accommodating! I would never recommend them! read more

I recently went in because my vehicle seemed a little shaky and so I was told that I needed my tires rotated. I went to another place to get them done but I feel like they didn't help me and it seemed a little worse then when I brought it in. I was told that town fair in Salem was the place to go so I went in and talked to Eric that works there. He was very helpful and recommended a balance and alignment for my car and it honestly drives like brand new! I was curious and called other places to see the prices of the service that I got and they were around the $200 mark. I only paid half of that thanks to Eric. I had an appointment for Saturday, 3/3 at 12:30. After the somewhat rude person at the counter finally took my information (which I had already given over the phone when making the appt.) he said they were behind schedule, the car should be ready by 4:00. I was getting 4 new tires and the NOT FREE alignment. Glad I hadn't planned on staying and waiting. Left with my husband and came back at 4:00. The place was locked (they close at 4:00). After finding my car at the rear of the building where several employees were still working in the bays on cars, I finally got someone's attention. They told me it was "next" for the alignment. It was just after 5:00 when my car was finally ready. Really poor customer service I will never go back. read more

These fools will NOT back their customers and have no common sense. I went to my regular garage for an oil change and had the tire air checked and properly inflated yesterday morning, they said that the tires needed replacing soon, so I figured that the tires should still have 27k left in them, called these clowns who installed them 2 years ago and they said to come in so they could check the treads themselves and call the manufacture for a refund. I drove to town fair tire later that morning and had the guy do the tread measure. The Manufacturer had a 50k warranty on them that they wouldn't honor because they were "over inflated". You'd think that these idiots would know that the air pressure in the tire fluctuates due to time of day and how far/long the car is driven. Save your self the time, money and aggravation and stay away from this place! read more

Its been 3 hours for a routine tire replacement and still not finished. I even had an appointment and a guarantee 90 min wait. I guess their guarantee means nothing. They also have an online system that gets you in the door then tell you their either don't have it or I picked out the wrong tires. Funny, I used their online system that identified the year, make and model of the car. Total rip off and will never buy tires here, too many other hungry tire stores. read more

I purchased tires and had them installed at town fair tire, it was a good deal, they were good tires, and that was about 10 months and 30K miles ago. I never bothered to make sure they were installed correctly; however, recently i was working on my car and when looking at one of my rear tires i noticed that both rear tires, which are directional tires, were on the wrong side of the vehicle. they have one job, to install tires, and they didn't do it right. its not over complicated to look at the direction indication on the tire and put it on the correct side of the vehicle, yet for some reason they cant seem to handle such a simple task. i will be taking my business to tire company who can actually install the tires they sell. read more

Deceptive, bad business. I had gone to Town Fair Tires last Dec to get snow tires put on my car. As part of the purchase, I was told that they would swap out the tires every season at no charge. I called Town Fair earlier this week and set up an appointment for today to swap out my snow tires. There is no charge for this service and this was verified on the phone. When asked, they told me it would take them 60-90 minutes. Upon arrival at my scheduled time, they could not find my appointment in the system and asked me if I wanted any other services. I didn't. After taking my information , Marco then told me it would be a 2 1/2 hour wait until my car could be taken. Stated reason was that they had an influx of walk-in customers that morning. When I questioned why they wouldn't take the customers with appointments before the walk-ins, they told me that I was a walk-in because they did not put the appointment in the system. Huh??? So how is that my problem? And shame on them for making that the customer's problem. I called in advance and set up an appointment. The fact that they would not honor the appointment because they had other customers whom they could make more money off of is a shady way to do business. Town Tire offesr you these services when they sell you the tires yet demonstrate little to no intention of honoring them--unless of course, you purchase additional services or products along the way. Marco made it quite clear that they had no intention of honoring an appointed time. It feels a lot like get the customer in the door, see if you can up-sell her so we can make a commission, if she doesn't want any other services, then move her to the very far end of the cue and if we can get to her, we will. I drove straight to a competitor where they are swapping out my tires now. If I could give this shady practice zero rating, I would. I am not returning. Their prices aren't great. They don't care about their customers. Bait and switch tactics get old. read more

I've purchased many, many (dozens) tires from this tire store over the years. Just purchased another set with wheels. I'm afraid I wasn't as happy as I have been in the past. The good news: the prices were certainly fully competitive and the service was good. The bad news: Marco talks fast, and we were talking about multiple tire and wheel sets, and he unintentionally fast-talked me into tires that I didn't want. I will repeat, he did not intentionally mislead me. I do not plan to use my 30 day return guarantee to return them because it isn't worth the trouble, and after all, I got a fair deal. I would hope they would be a little more careful. I am a sophisticated tire consumer so I imagine that some folks are really not understanding what they are purchasing. i have had decent luck with other Town Fair tire outlets but not impressed with this one. when first had tires installed in 2015 waited around for 3 hours even with a so-called appointment. went in last week to get my tire replaced as i have the road hazard guarantee. ends up they put the wrong tire on! i noticed once i got home never assuming i would have to check that. when i looked up the replacement it was a cheaper tire and not even the right size. i called them back telling the same story to 3 people before i got to the manager Mike. he apologized and said i could come in and get it replaced and when i candy in they would jump right on it. went back today. called to let them know i was coming yet still had to wait an hour to get thus done. don't really feel it was done any faster or was given any special treatment given huge inconvenience for me as i live 30 minutes away. when done no further acknowledgement or condolences. last time they'll see me. read more
