My daughter hired the Towne Deli to cater a brunch at her sorority in New Brunswick. The price per person was very reasonable and the food was outstanding. Fresh scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage, bacon, home fries, wraps etc. A deposit was required for chafing dishes. Delivery and setup was clunky, there were approximately 40 trays and the fine young gentleman who delivered was overwhelmed and over his head. As many of you know Fat Boy Jonny was a deli/catering man way back when do I bailed him out with the setup. My wife and I setup an assembly line for the water trays, sternos, racks etc. Deposit was returned when we brought back the equipment. I highly recommend Towne Deli

    Philly cheesesteak pie

I recently ordered from Town deli and my family and I had a margherita pie and the philly cheesesteak pie with extra meat. The pizza was amazing out of this world good. I don't know if it's because I hadn't had great pizza in a while prior to this. I'd ended up with a lot of pricey burnt crust thin crust style pizza with very scant amounts of cheese and other toppings at certain establishments and at others I would get bland medium thickness pies that don't taste that good. Well the pies at Towne deli were on point. They were over $30 each being the XL (bottom of the pizza box read 18 inches) but each slice was jam packed with delicious cheese and toppings. Each slice could be and was a meal. The Philly cheesesteak pie to me was probably better than actual Philly cheesesteak. Delicious ribeye meat with red peppers and generous amounts of onions and cheese. The only disappointment was that they forgot to put any basil on the margherita pie but when I called to ask what happened they were nice enough to offer us a future discount. I also ordered a chicken marsala with a side of linguini. It too was really delicious. The chicken was tender and the flavor was great. Really generous portion size on this entree as well. I think Towne deli is my new favorite pizzeria / casual Italian restaurant in Staten Island.

    Sausage broccoli rabe panini

My go to place on the island for delicious large paninis that is well worth your every dime! Ordered a sausage broccoli rabe panini and although it wasn't listed on their menu, they were very accommodating in making whatever I liked. I was surprised at how large and filling the panini was. Once I saw it I giggled a little in joy where my inner hunger jumped out as a devour myself in this sandwich. Whenever we needed to cater, this would be one of the place on our list. I have had their buffalo chicken and cheese steak panini that were very memorably delicious. Like many Yelpers recommended, get the Mess! The Mess resembled sal kris deli in Astoria where the famous bomb is everyone's favorite. The mess was close to it and would satisfy my craving whenever I need to find something similar on the island!

Food was okay. Nothing to brag about. I had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. It basically tasted like your average diner burger.

While the pizza is good, it wouldn't be something I'd specially make the trek out for. I do like their Cheese Pie ($19.50), which had a crispy and thin crust. This was simple, but good. We also ordered the Garbage Pie ($28.50), which had various toppings as in the name. This one didn't quite have any flavor that stood out, but gave more sustenance. We also got an order of the Fried Calamari ($16), which were lightly coated and fried nicely. I did enjoy these as an appetizer, which is great for sharing. Overall, it's a solid place that lives more on nostalgia. The place does get busy though. They also have a small parking lot, but we were also able to find street parking on a Sunday afternoon.

It has a casual vibe, but still feels like a proper restaurant, which makes it perfect for anything from a quick bite to a relaxed sit down meal. It's a small spot, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine in. I've tried their signature coal oven pizza, chicken parmigiana, penne vodka, and the flatbread. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can also order drinks, not just soda or juice, which adds to the overall experience. Street parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it. I was so caught up with enjoying the food that I barely took any photos, and that just says it all. I'll definitely be back and add more pictures next time.

There's of course falafel to the east, garantita in Algeria, and panisse in France (or socca in a similar vein). Sicilian panelle is Italy's counterpart, and the version at Ungaro is an excellent example of it. The panelle comes served with a healthy serving of ricotta on a seeded bun. It has a relatively mild, filling flavor that lets you fully enjoy the chickpea fritters themselves. They also have a potato croquette sandwich on the menu - a distant cousin of the Vada pav I plan to try next time. The half vodka pizza we tried was good, with high-quality mozzarella and a decadent sauce. The pie itself had a nice chewiness to it - if I had any suggestions, perhaps next time they could go a bit easier on the quantity of the sauce.

I told him, "brother's." he smiled, nodded, and said "they're good." He was right. It's a nice place, nothing fancy, they do have a nice dining area. The people are friendly. I decided to get a margherita slice, and I saw these little balls. I asked what they were, and he said "potato croquettes." they came in an order of three. I got my food and I took it back to my hotel. It was amazing. The slice, the dough was perfectly thin, not tough at all, it was a very good quality cheese, I could definitely taste the basil, and the sauce underneath was amazing. The croquettes, they were not over breaded or over fried, they were very tender. The potato inside was creamy and delicious, and they came with an amazing marinara for dipping. This wasn't just your normal tomato sauce. This marinara had a deep rich flavor that went perfect with the croquettes. The price was extremely reasonable for what I got. They are cash only, but they do have ATM at the entrance to the store. I'm a fan. Next time I'm in the neighborhood, I will be back. Thank you.

The pan pizza was soggy in the center, tough throughout most of the slices, and not crispy except, mercifully, at the edges.
