I actually found out about this place from a coupon book a few years ago, and haven't turned back since. The pizza is really good and their sandwiches are out of this world. I live around the block from them. We order from them all the time. They have some good dishes: I really like the egg rolls and paninis. I have to say that once I got food poisoning from them( it was some kind of pasta dish, for that reason I don't order pasta from there anymore) I strictly stick to the wings, breads and salads. The food is wonderful. However the service is horrible. Came here months back and everything was great. But the past month the service has been absurd. We have had items forgotten, asked numerous times what we wanted and etc. Here are some examples: each time we asked that all the food be brought out together... what happens each time is each plate comes out separately resulting in either half the food being cold or each person eating at different times. We also had to ask numerous times for our drinks even after our food arrived ( drinks were never brought). When we were done we waited 20 min ( with a crying baby) to be acknowledged and asked if we wanted anything else. Everything I try here is amazing! Ive never ordered anything that was just "meh" it gets harder to choose something every time bc I want to just get the last delicious thing I got. Paninis are awesome and well priced. The Stromboli and pizza are great. I think the best thing in the menu is the vodka riceball parm special. We have been customers at Towne Deli for a few years now and very rarely did we have any complaints . We have been there for breakfast , lunch and dinner . We have ate in , we have taken out , we had catetered food and delivery . So we have been around the block and back with Towne Deli . The service there for the most part is pretty good with some better than others . But recently there have been some changes that you notice having gone there close to once a week for a pretty long period of time . They changed a waitress who was the staple of the place , just friendly and very good . Some others are pretty good but nothing like this one in particular . Also there was this guy with grey hair and glasses that also welcomed you and asked if all was good . But getting back to the food , they reduced the portion size of some dinners and sandwiches that were usually overstuffed are not like that anymore . The quality of the food is still excellent it's just different than it use to be hence why we don't go as frequently as before . Yesterday topped everything with asking for vinegar on the side of our sandwiches . We usually are given the bottle that comes with salads , but this time we got 2 small cups on the side . Okay but when the check came we noticed we were charged a dollar for each cup ! So now we get charged for condiments ! Ordered from here many times in the past and was satisfied but last night was horrific. It was Mother's Day and we placed an order online at 6pm. After calling twice the food arrived right before 8 o'clock. 2 hours! The delivery guy was so visibly overwhelmed that I felt bad for him and he didn't even know if we had paid online for the order (which we did) and was attempting to charge me again (he had to call the restaurant from my porch). Obviously most of the food was cold, which we were expecting after two hours but to top it all off the next morning I opened up my $14 Cobb salad which I was going to have for lunch and saw the blackest, most rotten avocado I have ever seen. This thing had to be at least a week old. Aren't avocados supposed to be green??? I was going to let everything else go figuring maybe it was just a hectic, bad night but that was the last straw. I called the restaurant and after being put on hold three times I spoke to "Brenda" who couldn't care less about my situation. Completely apathetic. Came back on the phone to offer me a credit of $10 for $70 worth of cold food and a two hour wait. Someone in the kitchen gave her a lame excuse that because the avocado wasn't wrapped in Saran wrap that it basically turned black overnight in my refrigerator. Do they think I'm in idiot? I've been eating avocados for a long time and they only turn that color when they are very, very OLD. I proceeded to say that I should be getting a credit for the salad at very least. She told me I should have called last night if I had any issues because there wasn't much she could do to rectify the situation now. That seems like an excuse to me but whatever. So $70 worth of cold food that arrived after 2 hours $14 credit. Insulting. Eat elsewhere since this business obviously doesn't care at all about its customers. "Brenda" made that very clear. The food came early, piping hot and everyone was so happy with the food! It was delicious! We had ordered our food at 4pm last friday and was notified by grub hub the food would arrive no later than 5:15 . 5:15 turned to 5:30 and still nothing , so my wife had called to see what was going on and whoever she talked to acted very rudely and told her your gonna have to give us more time because their computer systems were down (we ordered via grub hub ) , she hung up the phone and i had said to her that if its down how do they even know our order ? so she ended up calling again to ask that question , the next person she had gotten on the phone had told her that the order had been canceled so we ended up just getting food from elsewhere. 6:30 rolls around and our doorbell rings (yes several hours after the order was made ) and the towne deli delivery guy shows up with the food (even though the order from what we were told had been canceled by towne deli) my wife tells him our order was canceled and were not accepting it now . my wife called back for a third time just to see if were going to be charged for their mistake which she is told that were not going to be but yet here we are wed morning and the charge has yet to be refunded . I've been ordering from here for over ten years at least once a week. I have had them cater almost every single party I have thrown during that time and the food has always been consistently good. But I will never be ordering from them anymore after my last experience. I ordered dinner from them for my family, after about 2 hours I called asking them where my food was. I know I usually have to wait a minimum of an hour and a half but at 2 hours I reached my limit. They told me my food would Arrive shortly and the driver left already. Another 45 minutes pass and I call again, I was then told they would call the driver and call me back.. 20 minutes later no call. I call once again and then I was told that the driver showed up to my house and tried to call me. My phone was not dead and was waiting near the door. ( doorbell was working perfectly fine) I told the girl on the phone that no one showed up to my house and I received no call. The girl then told me to confirm my number and address as if my info was not in their system after ordering from them hundreds of times. I asked for The manager and he said well if you want to order again it will be another hour because they would need to re make the food. I told him that was not acceptable.i then told him that I have been ordering from him for a long time and that he would be losing my business and his reply was "oh well.." And hung up. Their sandwiches are really good too...pizza is good, not spectacular but good. Delivery is where they suffer the most since it takes these guys a solid hour to deliver every time. I am pretty understanding since I know they are always making deliveries but they should really hire more people if this is the case. I live about a 10 minute drive away, and my meals never take more than 20 minutes to make...so somewhere someone is slow or not operating normally.
